The demographic that this game caters for would leave only one possible outcome TBH. I've found the community cliquey in the sense that there is a small group of "regulars" who constantly back each other up and make comments at the expense of others. "Group think" reigns supreme. I've often noticed a blatant falsehood or misconception continuously reinforced by Lemming #2 right through to Lemming #25 purely because Lemming #1 said it was true. I found it particularly difficult to post here originally as I felt that a few people who would like to portray themselves as benevolent and decent, also find themselves falling over themselves to flame alongside their friends when any accepted 'wisdom' is questioned. Also, all of the wannabe mods (however well they try to hide it) don't do anything for posts that would be harmless if not for the back-seat modding/flamey comments. I think the mods here do a fantastic job sifting through the scum tho.

I really wouldn't recommend using Void with such low defense. My Ranger has 80 def and I have a lot of trouble with DDS and GS specs due to it's low defense.

Finally, if you weren't obessed about say star trek, then why would you feel the need to dress like a character in it? Hell, I've seen women dress up like bondage fairies at comic shows. Tell me again that there ain't something wrong with them. There's something wrong with them because their idea of fun doesn't directly parallel yours? Research any person famous for doing anything of worth in the past few hundred years and there's a pretty big chance you'll find an obsessive person behind the public facade. Would you rather these people bought into the secular-conservative (BORING) life of someone like yourself who is so obviously superior to them all? Or have fun living their lives in the way they see fit that doesn't enroach on anyone elses and certainly doesn't reflect on their intellectual capacity. It's all just a bit of fun. ...and there are hot girls there. :shock:

I don't read the RSOF and none of my ingame friends alerted me so I assume they don't know either (and I'm not short of friends). This post actually helped me out quite a bit as one of those servers is my "home" server and had I not checked this post, I would be sitting here severely pissed off not being able to log in to my character on my only evening off from work. There are people in the world besides you. :P

Void Range is great for PKing but it's also amazing for exping! I'd generally get 15k(ish) more xp per hour using it - plus some wickedly high hits. :)

I've always found void melee quite satisfactory. Void range is insanely good and a staple for every serious Ranger tho IMO.

Both. Well, depends on what the flamer doesn't have. Except for the fact that 98% of the people with fletching or fm or cooking capes got that cape because they wanted an "achievement". People train combat for a number of reasons, but there's absolutely NO point behind a FM cape or a fletching cape. Honestly, what sort of loser would waste hundreds of hours fletching willows and yews just so they can wear a cape and hope for somebody to say "omg nice cape dudee!"? It's useless, it wastes time money, and it's nothing more than a lame attention grab. And you know what's funny? When someone finally gets their precious fletching cape, then discover to their shock that in reality NOBODY looks up to their "achievement", guess what they do? Yup, time to forum their tears. LOL! /cosign.

I use guides because I don't enjoy quests. I didn't decide this having never done a quest without using a guide. I tried a few quests freestyle and found it incredibly boring - so now I use guides. To each his own! Thanks for all the responses too BTW! I was a bit apprehensive about starting this topic as I had noticed that alot of people can get quite heated on the subject! My Nan always used to say that in all her 90+ years of life, the only true lesson she has learned is that the things you spend your life worrying about pretty much never happen. After achieving a few long-term goals I'd set for myself, I've decided to do some quests. I have a list of quests I need to do a mile long and as much as I try to involve myself in the storylines, I can't help but find them a bit of a bore. I've found the quest guides on Tip.it and other RS fansites a massive help! I doubt I would do quests at all if they weren't available. I mentioned this to a friend ingame today and he responded with shock, unable to believe someone could actually dislike questing. In many cases I have to admit that it's not only that I find it boring but because I doubt I could figure out what it is I'm supposed to do next without a good few days of thought on the subject lol. :P It got me wondering what the rest of the RS community think about quest guides. I've noticed that a fair few people would even go as far as to say that the guides detract from the quests and shouldn't be available... What do you do? Guide or freestyle?

I hate the way the world is - there's not much left in the world that you could call "free". Having said that, being realistic and accepting what you have - for what it is - is also very important. F2P is free, has a huge amount of content when compared to other "free" MMORPGs and despite the fact that updates are few and far between, F2P obviously hasn't been forgotten by Jagex. Requesting more for F2P is well within the rights of the playing population and is to be expected as content soon gets old but what annoys me is: "OMG anuvva update 4 p2p jagex hates f2p omfg i quitt!" etc. Many players of F2P also point to ad-banner revenue, using this as a reason why Jagex "owes" them more content. I think they already have more than enough in return for that paltry sum. I love F2P, I think it is less intense and there's a lot less waving of the proverbial 'e-peen'. I don't think F2P is undeserving of updates but I think that the whiney forum-going minority need to STFU and take Runescape for what it is - a huge game with acres of content if you're willing to pay £3.20 for it, that also provides those unable to pay for it with a very nice sized version for free. Be grateful. Oh and also... F2P PVP >>> P2P PVP. No contest.

If they extended the time you can be attacked after running into a bank, at higher levels anyone with Void Range, a Dark Bow and a decent ranged level would be rich.

I'm not a maths wizard by any stretch of the imagination but I think the increased speed of the Scimitar causes its DPS (Damage Per Second) to be higher than that of the Longsword. At a glance the Longsword does seem a more attractive option tho. #-o

LOL, this post is a prime example of 'group think'. Almost everyone that's posted is just agreeing with everyone else without putting any thought into it at all. A safe PvP world will offer you the opportunity to actually CLAIM a spot. Ever been at a spot for a few hours, only for some ignorant leet kiddie to come along and steal your spot for no good reason? Kill him. Don't wanna share coal rocks? Whip out your axe and start hacking! I'd forgoe the chance of any drops and take the loss of food and potions gladly if it meant I had a legitimate way of getting rid of annoying players without risking 10m worth of armour in the process.

I think it's a secondary skill in that it doesn't really have the options I do at 99 Range to KO someone. However, its utility value is amazing. How many of you have seen the lvl 115+ Mages running around PvP that are almost invincible if used correctly. I've never played a Mage tho so I can only speak from my encounters with them as a Ranger.

Or my absolute #1 most hated comment in all of RS... "lol 60 summ u failed ur char" I hear this like twice a day, even after they changed its effect on your combat level. ...

I used to be dead against those who ran around without chat on. I'd think it rude and pointless to play an MMORPG and not want to speak to people. Now tho, I barely talk ingame outside of my CC.
