  1. Nice find, sirlonewolf! I can't say I'm surprised by the results though! I think this shows not only that most people are stupid (lol) but also the laziness of society in general today. I'd wager most of the people who use those examples are simply too lazy to type in a safer password every time they use it.
  2. I've found that having multiple accounts keeps the game fresh. I try to make characters for specific purposes - IE. Melee PKer, Ranged PKer, Mage PKer etc. I do have one account that I eventually hope to raise to 138 but whilst on that epic trek, I will take little sabbaticals on my other PKing accounts of various levels. I find the repetitive aspect of top-end leveling in RS super boring and having various accounts allows me to mix it up and keep RS fun! :D
  3. My first attempt at a 99 was fishing waaaaaaaaaaay back in classic when, if your inventory was full, the fish would just deposit on the floor and you could fish indefinately. I got to lvl 95 which was a very decent achievement back then when I got bored and being the stupid teenager that I was at the time, made the poor choice of macroing the rest. I'd had the macro on for 3 hours when I got caught and banned. I had to hold back the tears IRL. Never again! Of all the 99s I have gotten on various characters throughout my playing career, Range is the most recent and by far the most satisfying. It's opened up so many doors that were previously closed to me in RS and I recommend it to anyone who's unsure what 99 to go for, especially for a first 99.
  4. How would snitching on your friend for doing something that harms nobody be beneficial for our society? I think people get way too involved in this game. Take a step back and see things for what they are, rather than what you've been told they are.
  5. What reason? But why? person A and person B get some cheap armor and flowers A and B go to a PVP single way combat hotspot person A and B wail on each other with flowers, leaving their computers on overnight A and B junk pk each other subsequently after amassing 24 hour's worth of PVP drop potential from a hotspot zone and of course person A and B could do the same thing with earth strike splashing, getting massive drop potential while training magic for no effort at all ^^ that's why LOL! "If there's a way, we will find it!!!" :D
  6. I'm soon to be a Dad! Does that count? Also, some of the replies on this topic (especially the first response) highlight exactly what is wrong with some of the kids on this board. It wasn't like the OP was unreadable, stupid or rude. Why did it warrant that response?
  7. I feel your pain! That scares the [cabbage] out of me.
  8. My first ever character was banned just before I left Secondary School at sixteen (I'm in my 20s now). At the time I was absolutely devastated, she was pure and a very decent level for back then. In retrospect, it was the turning point in a life that until that point consisted of RS and a girl who went on to break my heart! :boohoo: Rather than roll another char I decided to get a life and I never looked back. I sometimes think about what my life would be like if I hadn't got banned back then, I thank God I did. I think those who are able to control the impulse to play RS are lucky - I've never been able to! I'm doing a bit better since I started playing again 5 months ago but I still do that thing where I suddenly realise it's 5am and I'm sat in my underwear surrounded by empty sweet wrappers, I've been PKing for 7 hours straight and I have work at 8am! :ohnoes: The point I'm trying to make is I think for a majority of hardcore Runescapers, a ban would be a blessing in disguise!
  9. LOL! IBTL! IBTL! Haven't heard that phrase since the original tip.it forums. :D
  10. And there's need for a post like that because...? Anyway, after having posted earlier in the thread about having a bad run also, I went this morning and got 50 bars over my KC... So no nerf!
  11. What's up with the huge amounts of idol worship on RS? :?:
  12. I went with my usual setup last week and at 300 kills I usually have 300 bars ish, however this time I had half that amount at 150. I put it down to bad luck but if other people are noticing this too, maybe not? I really hope it hasn't been hit with the nerf-bat, I don't think I could handle RCing for cash again...
  13. I've no idea what - if any - new skill will be released next but I agree with previous posters when they say that much work is needed to improve existing skills. This should be top priority IMO, not rush-releasing another new skill to appease those calling for one. Having said that I would like the opportunity to be the first to 99 in a new skill! It'll be the first time I'm in a position financially ingame and with enough time free IRL to have a good stab at it.
  14. I don't have much to add that hasn't been said already but when I started playing, 'noob' was the term used to describe a new player and 'n00b' was meant in a derogatory "haha you're a [cabbage] noob" sense. :D
  15. 130 is too high, last time I checked (5 years ago, so don't quote me) the average IQ in the US was 92, I consider myself a relatively intelligent person and mine is barely above 130 (in a Government approved test) I thought the scale was always normalized to where the average IQ is 100. Anyways, IQ tests are notoriously inaccurate and subjective anyhow. Its hard to condense all the aspects of a person's intelligence into a standard test. Some smart people score bad because they lack motivation. I've always been of the opinion that intelligence is more closely related to 'common sense' than test scores. Tests tend to be highly subjective and compartmentalised. I've passed many a test with flying colours without ever really learning the material - cramming is great in the short term but in the long term you might aswell not bother. Anyway back to the original topic, I await Mechscape with baited breath! I think those who are expecting some sort of gaming utopia with not a minor in site will be sorely disappointed. Good luck finding an MMORPG that doesn't have a large contingent of 'leet pwners'! I have faith in Jagex, they've provided us with a great game in RuneScape and I'm confident they can deliver something that maintains the standards they've set for themselves whilst bringing something new to the 'Scape' world. I don't think I'll ever quit RS for it tho...
  16. I find it utterly ridiculous that a Mod would feel compelled to report that. Is hijacking someones wireless connection considered that bad in the US? I did it for three years when I was at Uni...

    Gun Control

Also I would like to add... If "defense" is the reason given for the proliferation of Nuclear arms throughout the world, why is this same principle not applied to guns? If Nuclear armament is a requisite of safety in a nuclear age, why should guns be illegal when they are the weapon of choice for those that would take life and commit crime?

    Gun Control

Here's a little quote from Wikipedia. I ask you all to read the above quote and please take heed. Yes, guns in the wrong hands do bad things, but guns in the hands of the morally upright serve only to keep them safe in an increasingly dangerous world. The 2nd amendment was brought about in the United States to ensure the public was protected from GOVERNMENT. This is massively overlooked in recent times and I believe it is something that will once again come to the fore very soon. It has been a regular occurrence throughout history for democratic, free governments to become corrupt and distanced from those without power and wealth. Googling the similarities between the United States and Rome is something I urge everyone to do. I know the thought of having to protect yourself from Government is alien, but ask yourself why this is when history has proven again and again that if there's one group of people you can't trust, it's governments. An unarmed population is completely at the mercy of the ruling powers. Our freedoms are being erroded from every side with "anti-terror" legislation, in England it is frowned upon in many areas of London if you take pictures in public. Yes that's right, in Central London you're not allowed to take pictures. This isn't just happening in communist China anymore. I grew up in an area that would be considered a "slum" area - in my borough last month there were 4 shootings, one of which was fatal. In case some of you aren't aware, England has many anti gun laws and we're not able to legally own weapons in the same way that Americans are. I find myself in a situation where it is likely at some point I will be accosted by someone with a gun who obviously doesn't care that it's not legal to own a weapon and brandish it at people. What position am I now in to defend myself? I'm not. Outlawing guns only takes them out of the hands of those who need them most to protect themselves - the law abiding citizen. All of those guys you should be worried about have their guns tucked under their belts because they don't give a [cabbage]. So in short, weapons are needed as one has the right under common law to defend themselves whether the assailant be foreign or domestic. If your enemies have guns, what do you want?
  19. I'm afraid I don't agree with anything in the original post. Also, I found the title of this post very misleading. It states that your post has "THe FaCTS" but, after dispensing with the facts you then go on to call them your opinion. Why would you use an example of something that you state wouldn't happen to add weight to your point? If it wouldn't happen surely it's a poor example to back up your point?
  20. I expected the requirements to be alot higher than that, possibly 80+. I'm glad they're not though as I already need to get a fair few levels. :D
  21. Meep, that's another 150 levels I need to get... :(
  22. There are a few groups of merchants throughout RuneScape who regularly manipulate prices. Yea, items prices fluctuate but not to the degree that some items have in the past few months. I'm beginning to grow tired of this "item prices fluctuate in the real world" argument. In the real world, item prices are relatively stable and when demand does increase, if plotted on a graph it will generally show a steady increase in price over a period of time. Surely you've seen how drastically some items rise and then how badly they fall from grace? The Berserker Ring as one such example, is regularly merchanted and the price rarely reflects supply and demand values, IMO. I know that RS is reknown for scaremongering noobs running around blaming anything and everything they don't like but in this case I really do feel we have a massive problem. I would liken this situation with the current oil situation worldwide. Oil definately does not cost as much per barrel as we're being charged throughout the world, there is a small group of companies/men somewhere out there manipulating oil prices by spreading rumours, holding back oil etc. The same thing happens in RS with rare items and the problem is getting worse, not better. It's been happening for ages now and something needs to be done.
  23. Why was that? I've often wondered what Jagex think about guides. If my memory serves me correctly, when I first started playing about 8ish years ago there was a notice on the Quest Guides section of Tip.it that said Jagex had requested all guides to be in spoiler form. The RSOF also prohibits quest guides as far as I'm aware. I imagine they would rather we didn't use guides but accept them as a necessary evil...
  24. Ghandi once said: RuneScape > WoW. That's the truth right there!
  25. To those still seeking answers - I haven't been able to buy Dragon Bolts ((e) or not) on anything other than 'Highest Price' on GE for a couple of months. It's undoubtedly pushing the prices up and I don't see an end just yet.
