  1. Thanks mate. Was feeling a little insecure, this really hit the spot. PS If I ever learn to make bigger images that look good, I'll let you know. (Well..I have a 600x400 version of it).
  2. More comments! (and bids!) Here's another version.
  3. This looks pretty nice, though I'm not a fan of texture/custom brushed thingys. One thing though, there are faint stars on the bigger planet/moon.
  4. Missed the deadline on MadMax's seal competition. It's a bit like some of my earlier works. Actually I'm dissapointed on how it turned out. It looked way better in my imagination  . Comment on it or perhaps make an offer. I can change the font and perhaps fix something in the image. Made another version. Just playing with ideas (made some shading on seal too) new old
  5. Obviously this isn't the style requested and I would hesitate to sell it for 300k even if I won, but anyway. Here's my shot. It's a seal taking a dive. (I misspelled your girls name as a safety measure  )
  6. You think she stole the signature? hah. She has already bought one from me + an avatar afterwards and has always paid in full.
  7. I thought the idea was to make a whole piece based on the render? (A very primitive and boring render at that).
  8. You know that stars are usually thousands of times bigger than planets? You do realise that a star infront of a planet would fill up the entire picture? No, in that picture those tiny dots on the planet cannot be stars.
  9. Stars are supposed to be behind planets not on them. You have some on the blue planet. Otherwise it's pretty neat.
  10. Here's an oldie I once made for celestial angel's competition. It was never bought. I can redo a more complex BG to it and make better effect to the butterfly if you like the cat. (and yes, I did draw the cat)
  11. Ow, this is so great! I'd say the technically interesting parts are the ocean floor and the surface. You did them with 1px brush? They work very nicely. Then it's time for pointless nagging. I think the bubles spread out too wide to be realistic and the rays are a little sharp. Yeh, those were pointless because this sig is the roxors. Perhaps I should order one...with instructions how to make them
  12. UTsnyper, there is no reason to save a signature like that in .GIF. GIF is an ancient format and .jpg gets you much better quality/size if you have many colours. On the sig. The background has some sharp edges caused by wave filter with wrap around edges. Not that great.
  13. Nice to hear I helped. Also nice to see effort put into the first signature. Though it's nothing extraordinary it's better than average I'd say! Good job!
  14. that is the deffintion of pixle by pixle drawing by very FEW people, other then this bored ive never seen people call it pixle art. to me pixle art means anything on a screen. right now ur looking at pixles, and if ur looking at art, well then its pixle art (that includes canvas art, because canvas is a mesh of little pixels). very nice 'pixle' creation, i like it. what does the formation of the fingers mean? Don't try to be wiser than you are. There is a certain art form called pixel art and it does not include the piece presented. Your burning (and oh boy do I hate people doing shading with only burning tool) is done at every "cell" of your hand. It's place in the middle of each "cell" and frankly those are the places that should be the lightest. Your shading...WAaaay off.
  15. Jab, they also look very easy... It's your lineart that makes them worth something.
  16. There are a few issues with the tutorial. First of all, if you are using PS do take advantage of it. Never do anything on one layer. The fill should be made on it's own layer just in case and most importantly: the burn tool is destructive, there is noway to remove it easily. The burn tool also gives you wrong colour of shadow IMO if used alone. I usually make a color burn layer and a linear burn layer. Then brush on both to get the best result. You also forgot highlights. Add a Linear dodge layer (all the layers should have less than 50% fill opacity to function properly). That was the method I shaded the WIP Lordi signature for Azvareth. Here's a scaled down version of an old stage report. The whole face has one base colour with the layers i mentioned above.
  17. actually I made the manga type of chick back a looong time ago. (well not that long). Before I made any other brushing sigs...I think. Oh, and the shading is in noway manga type. It looks like a bit of havok with burn tool....
  18. I'd say (and no, I have never modeled a thing) that the material is off. A lipstick (and no, I have never used one) case looks black all the way except some thin bright highlights. Yours is overall grey. Too light for my taste. I'd go for a more metallic material choice. Your current seems like some second grade plastic and they don't use that for lipsticks. It's late, hope you catch my drift.
  19. The coloring is well...try making more defined areas for cartoonish look. As for Keiphus matter. I don't brown tongue him, I just find it amusing that people start to argue when he is absolutely right.
  20. I'd post a screen shot if my host wasn't down... Make sure in the upper menues that "window > optimize" in ticked. There should be a window..similar to the layers window..somewhere on your screen named "optimize". It should have info of the format and other issues. Select format gif. Now play with the lossyness and color amount to gain the best result that fits the size. You can click the "preview in browser" button (located at the bottom of the tool palette) to see how much it will take space when saved as optimized. Clear now?
  21. The fact you require multiple images to be done to enter is at least for me a party-ruiner. Perhaps offer a possibility to only submit in a single category? Making all the things you request and going home with nothing would be...well sad.
  22. great...you said about...so I wans't sure. Good. Thanks.
  23. Thanks for info. Anyone know the actual size? So I don't have to get the image resized... (would count...but don't have a PC!!! )
  24. I'm a macist but I must make a login picture thingy for my PC-user friend. Does anyone know the right dimension? It's for WinXP. (the avatar type of thing next to login name or something). Perhaps the wrong board, but you guys are graphics oriented so you should know. (and yes google is my friend, but I coulnd't find it at an instant so why not ask?).
  25. He's using my cheaper sig anyway, so that's all the prize I need. 8)
