If you need more help you can also wear metal boots and/or a granite shield over a kite shield for some more negative bonus. Once you're well defended in your full armor turn your autoretaliate off and target a weak monster like a duck in the Fishing guild or a Man in a town, or find your own interesting place, and then start cursing it and let it splash 0s on you. If you're being hit by it (but not attacking it because your auto-retaliate is off) then no one can come by and kill your monster and you won't hurt it either or let it run away.

Nope, any random event clothes that you drop you can only get back by getting the event many more times. The only stackable (and actually tradeable) random event clothes are the shade robes.

On world 99 they do give free pure essence out in the northwest corners of the essence mines out though, plus it's a thousand times better organized and speedy.

Yes, the 6 new prayers raise the accuracy of your spells or your ranged ammo, but not actually the level and the max hit.

No, it wasn't that. They were waiting a while until there was a stack of quests and they could make the new altars a suitable reward to a long, challenging quest series. Death runes, for example, were made possible with a requirement towards the end of the elf quest series. Death runes were connected to the Mourners and all their "deaths" and "disease" and to the underground pass and all that deadly storyline. My guess would be that blood would maybe come at the end of a vampire-related quest line or challenges to go with that theme. You see, they are the strongest non-boss monsters in the game (lvl 360s are part of minigame so they don't count) so it should be nearly impossible to get to the altar, not to mention they can do high damage. Well there's no point in putting an altar at that challenging of a spot or nobody would go to that altar without the abyss :?
