Interesting details in that video eg the bow gets better as the fight progresses, so its awesome for long fights (eg QBD) and The new peng quest and Carnelian Rising quest info. Loot info sounds nice 2, chest will contain 5 consumable items from around rs with good value then the rare items on top of that. Journals about QBD's role and link to KBD too and 'royal dragon hide' armour.

The paint of a digital variety... (27th May finally returning!)
Ok so been like FOREVER but I have been doing some little bits and bobs on this between deadlines, revision etc. Hoping to get back into it properly this coming week! Updateness up-top. Wanna work on the right eye some more definitely, think it looks better with it being darker due to shadows, but it's not blended right atm. Also think I need to soften the line on the jaw just a little bit so its more of a detail of the face than a line showing an edge.

Google Chrome questions
Well Opera is like insanely archaic. Safari is as behind the curve as ever. IE is a clunky, often security hole riddled nightmare and now firefox is getting a bit heavy with their too broad application. Chrome is about all that is left and that's fine with me since it has all the best bits of most browsers and most firefox add-on devs have ported/swapped to chrome now. I'm getting an alright with Chrome, like the whole log-in sync settings etc. (thought wish add-on settings would sync over with the add-on) and wish Chrome to Phone actually worked on my phone. Also hope they hurry up with automated tab/session syncing. TabCloud is doing it fine manually and has auto coming soon though, so I can live with that and Chrome has manual in the current beta so looks promising. Got a bunch of add-ons that proved awesome (for me): Ad Block Plus - had it on firefox, better than Ad Block that is popular with Chrome (though ABP near overtook it) because it does youtbue ads etc. as well and tends to be quicker to update to hit new ad types. Youtube Auto HD - So simple, yet so awesome. Awesome Screen Shot Capture - great cause you can pick area and scribble on them Chrome Currency Converter - In-line currency conversion makes viewing things overseas I might order easier. Switch to Tab - Great little thing to add open tab searching functions like ff, just type SW [tab] and then omnibar searches open tabs. Twitter - not well named but adds # [tab] to search twitter from omnibar

The Far Side
If I remember correctly cracking the safes in the 'lobby' area of FPF will unlock the old rogue's den songs.

Google Chrome questions
So I finally got annoyed with how firefox is kinda getting a bit slow and clunky and migrated to Chrome but I have a few issues/questions that I thought you lot might be able to help with: 1) My pinned tabs for things like facebook and twitter are not lighting up or anything for new notifications and I heard they are meant to, any known issues/fixes? 2) My pinned tab of fb and twitter (again) occasionally lose the top menu bar on the site (so friend reqs etc on fb and connect, home etc on twitter) known issues/fixes? 3) Is there any way (extension, mod w/e) to make the address bar (omnibar?) load a new tab by just pressing enter and edit link behaviours so left-click opens in new tab? 4) Any way to get the omnibar search system to be more helpful? I've found how to use keyword to manually add some but it seems rather limited, amazon wikipedia, youtbue and such work yet other sites with obvious search urls to use don't (eg rs wiki). 5) Any general recommendations for extensions etc that help usability and such?

Cryptic Clues
I fail to see how these are things F2P can't solve. Any fansite and a bit of google could fill any knowledge gaps you needed to solve them.

Post all small corrections and spelling/grammar mistakes here!
Song from the Depths: On the tip trick bit about con xp. Probably more helpful to note the directions of left = west, right = east, above = north, below = south than just mention the compass thing. Also the pool to reach 25k xp has a lvl 80 constitution req (mention in the thread in gen discussion), one would assume this may mean the entrance pool *might* have a level limit too. I'll prob drag my noob account over there later today so I can find out.

Before they do that one would hope they ACTUALLY give us some constitution stuff since the whole point was to be able to have pots etc effect the skills (opposed to life points) to give more long-term boosts. Thought I suppose they may be counting torva etc as that since that is what it does, just invisible boost.

Wild Weekends: Monkey Mania
Probably the same way zombies, skeletons, snowmen and all sorts of other junk has been spawned as 'attacking' for certain events. Non-aggressive monsters in a specific area.

Druidic Ritual
I feel you may mean a different quest, Druidic Ritual only gives herblore xp. Nothing combat related in the entire quest.

Fast Combat Level
I suppose it might be doable, not sure on xp:hr rates exactly but there's not any quicker way to do it to my knowledge. Edit: ninja'd

Fast Combat Level
You could get all 3 melees to 60-70 range without much trouble either via slayer or camping one of the usual camp grounds like giant cockroachs, rock crabs etc. which ought to more than cover 85 combat. And 70 across the board is a good goal anyway since how most of the decent weapons and armours arrive at 70+.

Wild Weekends: Monkey Mania
Well, when stomp the bosses was announced at first the SoF wasnt included, you might have to wait until the weekend start to see if there is no new promos with SoF. But Stomp the Bosses announcement was not the 'Wild Weekend;' it was an announcement of community events. The wild weekend announcement of double loot had the SoF monkey items in it straight away.

Wild Weekends: Monkey Mania
So basically they are copy-pasting penguin hide and seek with a few graphical tweaks. Meh could be worse.

[22 May 2012] Song From the Depths
Kind of disappointed by the lore just a generic Cinderella replicate. Also has some issues how are the pots stacked with a brush on top and used to cook in when this house is underwater? (Judging by the comments of not using their legs for years) Also why must every single Mermaid be tied into this 1 family? Couldn't we of had a Mermaid society or at least a different family. Personally I'm glad they connected the two quests and fleshed out the three mermaids from Deadliest Catch, their sudden appearance in that quest was such a red herring at the time. Though I would be interested in more exploration if this new race, I thought this lore was sort of neat. From that angle sure perhaps it is nice, though none of the specifics given REALLY required it to be the same Mermaids. It could've been a separate family and still given the same flesh to the one's from Thasslus quest. For me it still just feels too contrived and too convenient for them all to be of the same family. It kinda be like if that one blind Imcado dwarf we met was Thurgo's brother or all the Mahjaratt were siblings, kinda feels better and something more if they are not related because it indicates an entire race opposed to just one family. Tbh the geography of the story irked me too. When they go in search of her they head south (obviously to Port Sarim area) yet they had migratory fish passing them before, where exactly where these fish migrating since the 'north' from which they came is entirely enclosed in shorelines. Also where exactly is this cove and cliff-face they climb down to reach the QBD lair? There's certainly not any cliff-faces near the QBD lair, not coastal anyway.

input about melees
The general rule of thumb (aside from getting stats for gd gear eg 80s for rapier) is: Str>Att>Def. High max hit has the biggest effect on your DPS and thus xp:hr Higher accuracy has the 2nd biggest effect on your DPS and thus xp:hr Def only helps you take less damage BUT having higher DPS and thus faster kills makes you take less damage than lower DPS with higher def.

Question about an all around character. Pros vs Cons
Tbh pures aren't what they used to be, a good all-rounder account can easily down a pure most of the time, especially if they know what to expect from it. Eg sure a strength pure might be able to hit harder than most of that combat level, but their defence sucks so as long as you can take a few hits you can ko em pretty quick.

[22 May 2012] Song From the Depths
[hide]As nice as it is I feel there is a simpler explaination: Dragonkin had it under magical sleep to control it after weakening it to make this spell work. Angry weak soul. Siren found it and nursed it to health, empowering it back to full strength (hence it can wake up), but her dream song kept it asleep. Now she's gone it is awake and at full power and we weaken it just enough for the dragonkin spell to work again.[/hide]

Syrup? Suppose they could be aiming for plain Syrup just the 'ee' doesn't seem quite right for that sound, since most of these rely on phonetic similarities.

[22 May 2012] Song From the Depths
Given their source and the dragon-like skeletons inside the QBD I'd assume these worms are some form of pre-dragon form quite possibly. Parasite / Carrion worms actually. If you read the notes from one of the dead knights there's a lot of info about it. They basically say that these things are feeding off qbd's dead skin, that there MUST be some sort of treasure deeper in the cave and the worms are feeding on that too (hence the loot with all the rune stuff and such). Just because the Knight thinks that's what they are does not make it true; you have to consider the perspective they have I mean they do not even know what is down there in the depths of the cave. And to above I meant in a more literal kind of species creation sense, sort of the raw clay spawned off the QBD from which the dragonkin formed the various dragons.
