  1. Yeah I think we're gonna have to do some leg work to rank games for thaler output both as a baseline and when on times 5 for spotlight. As no doubt some games will still blow on times 5 compared to other faster games. Plus I'm sure some rankings would be influenced by your desired reward - eg cwars may still be be best by a good margin for profound as you get gold tickets and thalers. (i doubt it cause such long time but still)
  2. Minigame spotlight sounds good in that you get options on getting the rewards and will be able to get full profound without doing all cwars all the time.
  3. I'd of thought poh content would have the opposite effect - it's had updates therefore its a lesser priority on the whole for upgrading with newness. Especially as player support for new rooms could easily, in jagex 'facts', mean players support and like poh as they are now and therefore it shouldnt be reworked.
  4. At least the museum idea has some more room for long-term use as it is a bank-clearing thing that could work akin to costume room for many useful post-quest/future quest items - think cramulet, bullroarer, commorb that sort of thing. Longevity can also be gained via association with a variety of quests instead of arbitrarily long grind-to-get stuff. Not sure where I'll vote yet, only one I'm not keen on is the slayer master personally; the fact museum made it to poll gives me hope the greenhouse can make it in the near future though. (Y'know that room idea that had n actual use to it but aquarium junk won). Quite like the idea of the waterfall fishing, especially as that waterfall location in priff just seems insane to leave to do nothing in a corner of the city you don't even run through at any point really as efficient routing between crwys and meilyr tends to go via inner ring.
  5. The thing with micro-t and jamflex is solomans is kinda alright its the shoved down your neck endless th promo items that actually affect gameplay tht suck
  6. Then no, there is no way. Weapon overrides only display for the appropriate item(s) being wielded out of the 10 categories (3 classes mh, 3 classses oh, 3 classes 2h and shield)
  7. Yeah I'm not sure what your on about either. Keepsaking turns an actual item into an override. The Teddy is already an override from off-hand magic. Keepsaking won't have any impact on your use of the teddy, all that effects the teddy is if you are holding an oh magic weapon.
  8. Weath and Reach are two distinctly seperate people- even on twitter Arceus @JagexWeath is Mod Weath who is still at jagex and dandy Mod Reach was fired.
  9. So basically warbands does halloween?
  10. I did not say he wants to live peacefully, if you are going to quote someone in speech marks at least make the effort to even try and get close to what they wrote. I said he is living a peacefully life reminiscing. What he is doing and what he wants to do need not align - many people in life do not do what they want.
  11. Yeah but what is the Mysterious Old Man doing when he's NOT talking to players? That's something that's not explained in the game or the wiki for that matter. He is living a quiet life in reminiscing about his golden years with all the artefacts of his events he saved hoping for someone to come by and ask him about stuff.
  12. My theory is the Mysterious Old Man is living a quiet life in Draynor telling people who come to visit him about the days of old when random events were a thing and that all his random event cohorts can be found living their lives and doing their own things in the places he describes that have been helpfully listed in the rswiki.
  13. I'd imagine it's very subjective yo your goals and other stats within ironman. As you can only use your own altar (if memory serves) doing them in poh would mean having the required construction level and the necessary supply of marrentils to fuel the burners. If you have the con level and a good stock of marrentils, by all means altaring them would make sense; however if you lack one or the other the time required to obtain them is probably greater than the time you'd save just bonecrushing with d-rider.
  14. When I fight steel dragons, almost everyone who uses melee has bandos armor. I might be making a big deal out nothing, I probably am, but I just can't comprehend the ugliness of bandos, or any melee armor for that matter above dragon. But I shouldn't complain about it though, I should be thankful that overrides give me the option to wear dragon armor and still have the stats of a better armor, and I am. I guess I was too stubborn to forget to be thankful for that. But alright, I am willing to admit. When I'm in Ardougne high alchemying the drops from steel dragons or stuff like that, people do wear variety of different armor. So saying that everybody I see wears the same was a huge exaggeration. How many people are you even seeing meleeing steel dragons though? The vast majority of people mage them because they are weak to mage. The number of people you see at 1 select monster is going to be tiny anyway and then the number using a less than optimum act style tinier still. I've seen more players in 1 game of Pest Control than I have ever seen in all my years doing slayer at steel dragons. Heck in all my years I've could probably count the meleers I've seen at steel dragons on one hand. Also I agree with Cow it's very rare I see people who aren't using some sort of override - between keepsake keys, highly demanded retropacks, and bonds making it possible to get solomans stuff for free I'd say around 85-95% of people I come across look different from each other due to their mixture of overrides or hidden item slots.
  15. It's for showing support or agreement to a post someone else made when you don't necessarily have more to add. Ie instead of having people quoting a post and just writing +1 or just saying 'yeah what X said is exactly how I feel' then just hit the like button. Then readers of the thread can see one post expressing a view, but also see that other users agree as they have liked it instead of wading through a whole page of +1 posts that don't add any discussion value.
  16. I just don't follow the logic of how its some how all about compers though. By the logic presented it seems as though the mere fact this content has a comp req and people have found it bad makes it all about compers and too much focus being given to them. But if it had no comp req and the same complaints were made it wouldn't be an issue at all. Just seems like a ridiculous logic since in both cases the content is being complained about because it is bad content, just in the case of a comp req existing those complaints are being marginalised or invalidated some how.
  17. But again you are assuming there that compers are only in it for themselves. If I complain about content being bad it is because it is bad content and should be better, it has nothing to do with keeping my comp cape. I mean sure it being bad does impact on my play experience whilst maintaining the cape, but it also impacts upon anyone playing the content at any stage of the game. Why should I feel unable to have valid negative concerns about the quality of content or have those concerns written off as being all about being a comper? Sure my own personal interest in content may be in part or entirely to do with playing it to garner the requirement, and potentially no more if it is low level or not fun, but that does not automatically mean I cannot have an objective view point about the quality of content for the playerbase as a whole. Also having a comp req does not make content about compers. Having a comp req is pretty standard because its a cape for completing everything - it's not about giving them content its pure and simple logistics that a cape for completing everything must gain a requirement to complete the new thing. It's not about skewing development to focus on compers or making content specifically for them it is pure and simple basic logic of thing can be completed therefore cape for completing all things will require it. Heck they've even said in many podcasts etc comp reqs are basically the last thing they do in dev - they make the content then look back at it and go 'does this qualify as completing something, if yes throw in a line of code to add comp req'
  18. How is boss pets anything to do with compers? It has no comp requirement attached. No boss is locked behind maxed-stat level barriers. Are compers, in general, a group that overlaps a lot with pvmers? Sure, but that doesn't make a pvm update a comper update.
  19. That would be an impossible sell at this point. The upgrade was popular because it was good at kal'gers particularly, to be good there it needs to be t90-ish. Pitch it at that level and it is op for some other big name mobs like waterfiends. It would've made sense if they had done it as a t80-ish thing right off the bat, but the genie is out of the bottle now of what players expect of the upgrade and will not be satisfied if that is not met.
  20. But what content is ACTUALLY being worked around compers and compers alone? Give me one example of a piece of content that is solely for compers? I can't think of any single piece of content that has been skewed for or made specifically for compers - all I see are game updates that happen to have comp reqs attached.
  21. I think the issue is they are overcomplicating things by making it be similarly effective on all different demons. As in they are trying to make it appropriate to the demons particular stats/levels instead of a simple flat out boost, which means it ends up needing to have bigger boost vs higher demons being only a steel sword in real-stats and a lesser boost vs weaker ones. Rather than a flat out boost which would end up, like generic t90 weps for example, being solidly decent on stronger mobs and utterly decimating lower mobs.
  22. I don't think its fair to say that compers issues are pedantic or trivial just because they are compers or that compers all want status and to look down on others. Sure there are compers who think they are gods and above all else, but most people I know with comp are just plain and simple players who happen, through a product of time and broad interest in engaging with all content, have come to a point where they have a comp cape. Ultimately its just a case that in many situations compers or maxed people have a fairly unique position in regards to how well functioning or how useful content is, precisely because as a group many want to get new things done fairly quickly and therefore they highlight gripes of poor design or missing features that needlessly impede progress. Equally as a player that doesn't really have cause to do things to gain xp it is easier to objectively look at whether the xp is reasonble or dreadful and whether the content is actually offering you anything worthwhile for your time investment. By all means compers asking for something to be quicker just because they want to be done with it exist, but many present valid critiques of the way content is functioning and how it can be improved and not just for their own benefit as half the time they will have put the work in long before any change to content could arrive.
  23. Early reports I've seen do seem to be saying its around the ballpark of best weapon for most demons now, though it is weaker than the original upgrade. Not seen much specifics atm though, but deffo sounds like it, at the very least, is back to being better than un-upgraded sword.
  24. Judging by twitter it seems they have recognised the nerf to be a balls up and theres a hotfix out that should make it decent again.
  25. Double post, but this post Mod Rowley left in response to the 'fix' says it all in many ways: Yup thats right in the thread asking for PLAYER FEEDBACK so that they did not make a stupid change defending the stupid change Mod Rowley has confirmed the change had NOTHING to do with player feedback.
