Behind the Scenes - August 2014
Tbf keeping tail and cape mutually exclusive kinda makes sense cause there is no way in heck they wouldn't clip and if it was irl the cape would just hide the tail anyway.

Behind the Scenes - August 2014
Sounds like a solid month and sounds like elf finale is only 2 weeks away as well! The new 'top tier' jewellery I'm unsure on; they already usurped onyx with the sara stuff (among others) and further with the dg ones. Is this new gem going to be better than the dg necks or just better than onyx? Also very pleased that it appears wings and tails are being separated from capes in overrides.

Old player looking to try out the legacy mode, couple questions
On dg You won't have lost your binds, unless you purposefully broke them - they did a major overhaul of the bind system leaving us with up to 12 bound items (plus a potion) and 3 bind setups allowing for the 1-5 items (plus a 6th oh only slot for dw). All your bound items should still be there, you just need to put them into a loadout via right-clicking the smuggler. As for optimal binds DGS etc mostly recommend ssh, blood neck, sagi body, sagi short bow and primal 2h for your 5. Some people prefer to do ssh, blood neck, body, legs and 1 wep or ssh, body, legs and 2 weps. The main thing is ranged is the best choice for main style as there's so many mage-based ranged weak enemies in dg it makes best use of weaknesses whilst also offering the best def again a style ur gonna be hit with a lot.

Araxxor, Twitch Integration and Lobby Update
Part of me wonders how any guide can be complete at this stage. With 23 different tactics available in the rotations I get the impression, akin to Vorago, potentially the tunnels we've seen and stuff in phase 3 and 4 are not the only things that can happen. Cause unless there is a lot of tactics used in the fight that no-one has bothered to mention on forums or in-game we aren't up to the magic 23 yet.

So I'm about to fight red dragons again, and have a question
Yes antifire potions are worth it. Most would advise ditching the shield entirely in favour of protect mage prayer - it may not result in 100% flame protection but the increased dps from using 2h or dual wield ought to offset the extra damage by making kills substantially quicker. Either way though potions are a must.

Defensive Animation
^That was my first thought too. That or Sara/zammy warpriest set effect.

Bow overrides
Bow overrides are just 1 block category because they all use the same stance and animations. In terms of overrides and complexities its only melee that really gets boned. Mage staff, wand, book, orb 4 overrides, 4 items. Simple. Ranged you have bow, crossbow, 2h crossbow, thrown. Simple. Melee you have like 8 or so categories (1h stab, 2h stab, 1h slash, 2h slash, 1h crush, 2h crush, whip, maul/halberd)
- Grrr - I was unfairly muted/banned!

Araxxor, Twitch Integration and Lobby Update
Not really. Alching is the main problem with gp creation in the first place, leaving that alone would be the worst in any attempt to stem gp creation. Plus the gp sinks clearly don't do enough since we still have rampant inflation - there is no reason they'd have to be altered as long as the change to gp creation was balanced against the existing rate of gp destruction.

Araxxor, Twitch Integration and Lobby Update
where has Jagex kept saying this? Asking because I have never read anything along these lines from Jagex. They have said it in the past (though I don't have a specific quote at the moment). Incidentally in economics, that is the standard and main argument for why inflation is supposedly bad. Inflation is when there is too much money in the economy, and it pushes the prices of everything up. The standard argument then goes on to prescribe countering inflation (by taking money out of the economy) because rising prices are generally bad for poor/average people. In the real world, the only way money enters into the economy is when government prints it, so it's quite easy to control the supply of money, and most money in the real world simply changes hand (new money is not created). In Runescape though, money pops into existence out of thin air, so the supply is very hard to control. The only way is basically to have harsh restrictions, but since no one wants that (myself included), what I have been suggesting is that Jagex should just let people keep their money (rich and poor) instead of artificial or unreasonable inflation-countering methods (degrading costs, IMO, are fine, whereas 200K per attempt is less so). The thing is most of us rarely do things that actually create gp from nothing and even when we do from monster drops we usually leave it because its such small amounts, so arguably without affecting players too greatly Jagex could simply remove coin drops from all but the very low end mobs and rewards and tweak alch spells to give something other than coins and it'd put a massive curb on inflation because money wouldn't be being created at a rate that outstrips its destruction but there'd still be plenty around for us to buy and sell successfully.

Araxxor, Twitch Integration and Lobby Update
Despite player sentiment around the issue the ninja team seem determined to include 'the reaper' title that comes with boss slayer as a plain comp cape requirement and the condition to get this cape is 1 kill of each boss on any difficulty setting. Hence the list in my signature showing which kills I've cleared with my sucky pvm skills and which I have yet to conquer, because they launched the back end of the kill counter stuff last week and thus we can get the kills logged in advanced.

Yeah the instance costs seems a bit bs to me - if its SUPPOSED to be a solo boss then we should be able to reach it solo anytime without having to pay for it. Charging for instances makes sense for group bosses to allow you to fight it when the worlds are busy without being a crasher and they work nicely through being maintainable by rotating in and out to bank kinda thing. But for a solo boss? That's just dumb. Especially since their supposed double your money 400k+ loot ignores the cost of supplies used to be 'double' and relies on items selling at ge value and, quite predictably, a solid portion of the drop table discovered thus far aren't really items that sell all that well. Araxxor seems like it could be a fun, reasonably profitable hard solo boss, but the instance fee entirely ruins its prospects imo.

Also mauls. and I'm sure they can make am exception to this scythe to allow overrides from other trees Not really possible, overrides rely on the shared poses and animation set of the weapon to function thats why they are limited the way they are.

Minor correction. Not sure how to feel about the paths alternating each week, but it still looks fun. Tbf the alternating won't be epically bad unless there is literally only 1 path you ever want to do and even then it's only 1/3 weeks it'll be shut. Path 1 will be good week 1 and 3 Path 2 week 1 and 2 Path 3 week 2 and 3

From the hold and sheathe stance and the fact its 2h slash I'd imagine the 2h sword overrides might work on it.

All in all sounds like an interesting setup for the fight etc. To surmise for anyone who didn't catch the stream: Phase 1 is the basic intro stage which has the 3 basic moves and 1 effect: A web dome inside which he heals up, you can attack but get recoil damage to make the heal do less. Binding you up in a web cocoon that you spam move to escape. A 'cleave' where it swings front four legs that can hit you and familiar. When it enters the arena it will randomly spawn in a melee, ranged or mage variant which defines its basic damage type and a vague weakness. This also defines its effect it can apply - melee is a basic bleed, ranged is a poison and mage is a stat drain. Each phase of the 4 phase fight has 100k health and what health you leave the boss at when you decide to move on is logged and plays a role in phase 4 - but they haven't revealed what. Each phase you moved through involves araxxor gaining a new move - you can either fight it until it runs out during that phase or face it in a stronger form in the final phase. Phase 2 is a choice of 3 paths each with a different tactic that you can wear out - the other 2 will appear in phase 4. The top path is spawning 20 minion eggs for you to fight. Phase 3 sees all three paths reconnect and presumably has another move added to araxxor but it was not shown off. Each week only 2 of the 3 paths are open - at launch it will be 1 and 2, on weds 1 will close and 3 will open. As for the weapon drops the 3 stick parts are tied to the paths - path 1 for the top, 2 for the middle, 3 for the bottom. Noway to get all 3 parts without doing all the paths in various kills. As for the final piece the drop is random, though there is a marginally higher odds for the piece matching class of araxxor - e.g. melee more likely to give scythe part. Apparently the average loot is around 300-400k, but can get as high as 800k with luck and the unique drops are not all that rare.

[RS3] [WIP] Farm Runs - Tree, Fruit Tree, and Herb
Arguably most of the RS population cares about ticks whether they realise it or not. They go to guides for the best gp:hr or the best xp:hr or the best balance of the two or the best way to do x or the best way to y and you know all the best, most popular guides out there, the ones that inform the advice most users of fansite forums will supply, the overwhelming voice you will receive has its origin in someone or a group of someones from the heavily focussed metagame crowd working it out based on ticks and maths. There is no getting away from it in this day and age of runescape, we know what works and what doesn't work and the sage advice the crowd will follow all has its roots in the metagame. Also Hedgehog was just giving a solid response to your suggestion of using the leprechaun, there was no need to be rude about it. Yes you could use it if you so wish, but the fact remains it takes longer to do so and, as such, if inventory space is an issue for compost you are better off using the fertile soil spell. Especially when you factor in that you have to go and give these guys the compost in the first place which adds a whole extra task to the farming setup.

I certainly agree Div xp rates are not really right, they don't increased enough at the higher end of the curve I found it totally bearable, more so than some other gathering skills I 99 - e.g. fishing I did before people really cottoned on to fly fishing stuff and it was basically sharks or lobsters; now that was painfully slow.

I kinda wish Jagex would move in a way whereby monsters have more area specific drop tables just to mix things up a bit more - at least for some mobs anyway. So like the choice of where to kill a mob would have more to it than pure spawn numbers and ease of access - like metals in kuras dungeon would have hoarded different things from their local environment to what the ones in brimhaven have at hand or the ones at ghorrock might find. Would be an interest way to maybe try and mix up what monsters people wanna fight e.g. 'noob' monsters in more high end areas which have some better drops to make them farm worthy whilst not swamping out the low end area with high lvls.

Avatar: The Legend of Korra
It really is no surprising ratings didn't go so well when they basically did 0 promo for the series. If I didn't use trakt I wouldn't have known it was back on. I just hope if it gets dropped by nick someone with half a brain about what they have with the avatar legacy picks it up. Netflix perhaps, I mean they got Orange is the New Black spot on.

It's almost as if they had a pre-planned promo ready for the build up ti invention release then were too lazy to change it after elf city won the poll.

[RS3] [WIP] Farm Runs - Tree, Fruit Tree, and Herb
If you can't access falador shield 2 and greenfingers aura you are doing something wrong - they are easy to get - easier to get than trollheim tabs and lunars considering the relatively high-end quests involved in unlocking them, both of which you included. If you don't already have farming juju it is something you should be working towards before seriously herb farming in the first place. Fair point on le compost hedgehog, but then again in a guide promoting visiting 5 herb patches, 5 tree patches and 4 fruit trees in 1 trip inventory space would become a premium as thats 9 saplings, 1 seed stack and 13 (no compost allowed on trollheim right?) buckets of compost etc. Writing this reminded me of another point I meant to make though: Why is herblore habitat fruit tree missing? It's easy to get to and adds to the overall benefits of the route. I mean I can understand giving lleyta a miss if this is meant to be like a noob/low levels guide as the comments on my suggestion about items to have seems to suggest; but no reason to miss HH. Anyone can get there with a direct tele thanks to juju bag.
