  1. Brackish blade special is a guaranteed max hit (Can still hit 0 as a miss) on any attackable NPC. It hits normally in any PVP including safe PVP. It does appear to have doubled accuracy too, and the stat increase is still true. Just need to update about the max hit thing. I found this out today and thought it was strange such a useful special wasn't noted in Tip.it or rune wiki.
  2. I worded it poorly. By microsecond i was trying to say that your prayer must be activated at one specific point during that 0.6 second period. Which makes it easier.
  3. You have way too much prayer/restores. And not enough ovls. Forget the skull and just ovl the entire caves. 12 doses of ovl's is easily enough for the full caves. I personally don't only pray range on jad. You end up wasting time brewing the lost health when you could just very easily flick between mage and range prayers and outhit the healers. And combos of 600's killing you is very much a possibility. Pray only range if you have a hard time flicking. I'd personally bring only 10 super restore flasks, no pray pots, and more brews. It's very unlikely you'll need more brews than you already have, but it's literally impossible you'll need more than 60 super restore doses in a fight cave run with +22 prayer. And there aren't many alternative items to bring that would help. (Veng runes can be useful for extra damage, but they're really just a novelty unless you're meleeing.)

All 99's. While my favorite skill is combat, I'd be extremely bored if i had to get 200m strength XP. (Especially if it meant not getting 99 in other combat skills) Leveling up and improving the rate of which future levels will come is one of the best things about this game to me, so i'd hate to get rid of that for over 9/10th of the game.
  5. Rapier. PPS costs slightly more than rapier does and hits less. SoA is way over priced, as is fire surge.
  6. Just FYI, all 3 of my testers have been offered the trial now. Lol. I of course can only use one as a serious account (and i am! Being a noob again is fun!) but i thought i ought to add that in there, to get a sense of the chances of an account being accepted. (Note one of them was level 3 and only logged in once for a few seconds. So levels/playtime aren't part of it. Someone looking to abuse the system could simply create 100s of accounts and hope they get 50 members etc.)
  7. Very important note: You must have your prayer activated the microsecond before the xp pops up on your screen. NOT when the damage appears on the enemy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0A5QT8zgK9Y Sorry for the poor video quality. I was testing a video editor and it turned out pretty awful. Put the highest quality setting and fullscreen if you are having difficulty reading the text.
  8. Even if he is going for 200m's, attack, defense and then possibly controlled would still be best. The extra attack and defense levels will speed up his training, albeit only by a small amount.
  9. Bandos, dragon defender? Void + deflector is much better, especially combining it with salve (e) slayer If we're talking about efficient melee training, slayer shouldn't come into it.
  10. From the moment you create an account you should focus on quest rewards and alternative training instead of combat. Get a strength level you're comfortable with, jump to the next attack requirement for a better weapon, repeat until 60/60/1. The low amount of XP required at this level makes it not incredibly significant how you micromanage each level, it's best to not worry about the potential for a tiny bit more xp and just get it over with. As a rule of thumb for being efficient, never have +10 strength over your attack at this stage. Defense is not needed in most decent training spots, and does not speed up your XP apart from delaying banking. But if you choose to train somewhere where defense is absolutely needed (Enemy has inaccurate but high hits, can't protection pray against, can't outheal with sum/ss.) you should find the optimal defense level to last for a decent amount of time without needing to bank, and stick there till you're at least 99 strength, probably attack too. I'd personally only get 40 defense once i am 70/~70/1, it will go very fast at this point and you unlock good offensive armour such as defenders to increase your kill speed. At your current level you should train 99 attack first, and then defense. Because as stated above, extra defense levels will not give you much benefit for training (Especially since you already have all offensive bonuses unlocked.), while attack will. You should be training on low defense creatures, so the attack bonus, while helpful, shouldn't make a huge difference anyway. The only big mistake you can do here is train on balanced and throw away 1/3rd of the useful xp. (Sorry! Lol.) This is purely for absolute efficient training. Having such low defense until you're maxed offensively will greatly limit your combat options for the many months/years it takes to max. (Although the pking is fun. :D) Just play the game how you see fit, forget about the numbers.
  11. Woo! Got my free trial today on one of the 3 accounts i tried. (I have no idea why. This one was done with wiped cookies/cache and my regular UK IP) They don't take your credit card details by the way, so it's impossible for them to charge next for next months fee early and screw you.
  12. Fury gives much better defense and accuracy than strength. The new nooby capes you get from the troll place are best for training as they give accuracy bonuses. Fire cape or even rhino cape are obviously much better, but may be difficult to get on a 1 defense pure (but certainly possible!) Rock climbing boots give +2 strength. Regen bracelet gives +7 strength and +8 accuracy, and +8 in all defenses. It's actually a tiny bit BETTER than the addy gloves that require tons of quests, but people want addy so bad because they're 5k to replace instead of 120k so are much better for p2p pking. Zamorak book gives +8 for all attack accuracies, it's a shield item. Berserker ring gives +4 strength. Imbued berserker ring gives +8 strength. (Strength is way better than attack for training, never use warrior.) Bearhead has almost double the defense of iron full helm AND awesome mage defense. Iron platebody is the best defense for body, but I'd personally use monk's robe if you're using prayers to speed up training. (You should be.) I think that's pretty much it. Note that defense is pretty pointless when you're level 1 defense anyway, it won't make much of a difference at all. That's why the gear i recommended mostly focused on offense or prayer, which speeds up training much more effectively.
  13. Permanent trial would be a dreadful idea unless Jagex found a way to limit to 1 per person, which is literally impossible. Otherwise you'd get constant supplies of low level throwaway pures that people build in less than 2 weeks. (Or train in f2p and have 2 full weeks of p2p questing/pking)
  14. Oh my bad. I totally forgot that you didn't need 99 slayer to USE the bow, only to get it. You can take back my previous comments, they clearly had motive :) Kicking him before he killed it wasn't a stupid move by the way, they can easily deflect/veng kill it and not give him the chance to quickly bind the bow.
  15. Good business sense or otherwise, Jagex has usually opted for the delay-delay-panic button route. I don't think I need to supplement this with obvious examples. It works in canada and I did play on a p2p account before, but not since august, so it probably checks if you've been on a member's account recently (since there'd be no point in giving you a trial of something you already have) I'd try deleting cookies and cache and all that and also the files runescape stores on your computer and try again. maybe it goes by ip though, like if your ip has logged onto a members account in the last __ days it won't give you the trial, idk As I recall someone else on this thread tried registering through a different IP via some kind of a proxy and this failed to bring about a free trial. Yeah that was me (And another guy i think). Actually tried 3 different IPs, the 2nd two with wiped out cookies & cache on different browsers. Still no trials offered. Two were UK IPs and one was American. Next time someone is offered the trial it would be really helpful if you'd take a screenshot of it (blanking out any personal details of course) so we can see what we're working with, or see that it actually exists.
  16. Yep. It's more efficient to bank the bones and even hides. We all know this. But doing that is boring/prevents reaching the immediate slayer/combat goal. In the perfect world I'd bank the bones, but I'd too lazy to bother doing it, especially when i have a spare 40m in the bank and have no immediate gear improvements to purchase. Again I'll emphasize that i KNOW it would be better even for the long term to pick the bones up, but i find it frustrating and thus stop mid task and end up realistically actually doing less progress in runescape that day compared to if i had just left the bones. Never value efficiency over fun. Never take money/hour vs xp/hour as actual efficiency when human emotions are part of the equation.
  17. I don't think anyone sane would argue that Jagex are updating F2P enough to be 'best F2P game' but frankly, as a company trying to make money from adverts with a userbase that all use ad-block, they shouldn't be. Memberships bring in the money. Any major F2P update will piss off the people that pay for membership because they think their money isn't worth spending as it would belittle any P2P benefits. The main thing Jagex need to do is obviously draw in new players, profitable or not, as they're in desperate need of more players and can THEN focus on milking these players for cash. The 'Runescape sucks and hasn't changed at all since 2005' thinking doesn't help bring in new users. Runescape is also one of the few games that children will LIE about playing. You know you're addicted to a game when you can't talk about it in public, yet still play it daily. I wasn't around at the time, but I'm surprised more people aren't still complaining about the memberships fee increase. 5-10% increase maximum every year is to be expected, but to keep the same fee for years and suddenly increase it by 50% is a stupid business move. Anyone that doesn't even play the game can clearly see that the core financial side to it is pure stupidity, regardless of the memberships actual worth.
  18. In terms of speed: SoA > Rapier > Poly In terms of ease: SoA > Poly > Rapier I'd personally use SoA. You'll use less than 1k casts, 2.5m, and it will be very fast, and there will be little time to mess up on jad as he dies so quickly. If 2.5m is a lot of money for you, use poly for caves and SoA on jad and "difficult" waves (Where you have multiple 90s and 180s and a 360) Plus you don't have to worry about jad's melee, which makes it 5 times harder.
  19. I'm not saying the chances of you being kicked for no reason are 0. I am saying the chances of you being kicked for a valid reason are higher than the chances of there being no reason. We only get one side of the story here, and from my experience the former doesn't happen very often at all. Theres always the chance you were being fine and they were in the wrong, but i refuse to jump to that conclusion as the only possibility unless theres proof. @ the cooking salves thing, at least those kickers had a reason. You may disagree with their agreement but you can definitely find justifiable reason for them to kick someone, in their own way. In this case no reason was provided at all.
  20. i thought it was at level 10 Seems like it's gone now. It does pop up when you try to do a member activity (like the GE shortcut) but it didn't trigger the trial :(
  21. Currently training 30 fishing because i seem to remember a 'YOU GOT 30 IN A SKILL BUY MEMBERS NOW YOU IDIOT' thingy showing up a while ago, perhaps the trial is initiated at this point too. (I'm really grasping at straws now XD)
  22. Do you get it instantly after making the account? Neither of my testers got one =/
  23. I've actually recently applied for a job in child services and the illness thing was a huge put off. I generally don't get ill but when I'm ill, as you'll see from previous comments in this thread, i like to bear it out anyway. I really can't stand the idea of staying off for a week because i have a mild flu. The job i applied for seems mostly clerical though so perhaps i can just avoid human contact if I'm lucky.
  24. If anyone DOES work out the requirements to apply for this trial thing, I'd really appreciate them. Maybe make a thread for it.
  25. ...Dude. I totally called the new fight kiln boss.
