  1. Luck based? It's just as luck based as any other weapon in runescape (Or less so, as accuracy doesn't come into the equation.) It hits 50-150% of your max hit, averaging a regular max hit per spec, and never misses. (Talk about overpowered amiright?) So... 100% accurate special should NOT be counted in an accuracy testing experiment >.> ...Although dragon claws VS Korasi for special on waterfiends may be interesting. Dragon claws seem fairly accurate (80%ish) in my experience so it's going to be a close one.
  2. Polypore staff and ganodermic armour makes the caves a joke. i'd recommend it over range to a maxed player, and certainly for someone with such a low range level, and 99 mage. You'll need a form of healing as staying alive without using all your brews can be tricky in ganodermic. (You tank everything very well, except the pesky 90's) and your prayer is too low to bring extra brews, as you'll need the room for prayer restores. Soulsplit makes it rediculously easy to not touch a brew till jad. EEE is a great healer. SGS would be good. Sara bow would be better than nothing. Vampirism aura would help a ton. Purple sweets would be brilliant, but this is extremely expensive and should only be used as a last resort. I personally use max mage offense, and kill the things that can damage me as fast as possible, minimising the damage i take. You may want to wear a little better range defensive armour to minimise the healing you need.
  3. How is climber 'a LOT slower'? You have to wait 3 seconds for the handicap spinner thing. That's the only time consuming difference i can think of. And the points equal upto 60k more in a melee skill. That's pretty significant seeing as it's like 5% slower at most.
  4. By skip boss i mean do not start the fight. If you wish to not start a fight in climber, simply say 'no' when it shows the boss picture. Then leave out the exit, claim reward from chest, and start again.
  5. If you are not maxed combat already, i highly recommend doing climber. Just fight until you get a fight that you can not do or will take a long time and leave and collect your reward. The dominion points per boss is much higher and they take roughly the same time if you carefully select your handicaps (Really easy to avoid speed crippiling ones.) Higher dominion points = more journal pages and other dominion tower items. And about 60k extra experience in any melee skill you like (Or slightly lower in range/magic/prayer) an hour. Will take about 7 hours if you do climber with dragon claws and a chaotic. A few hits will kill most of the weak bosses, and any hard ones will just be skipped. (Endurance was once viable for dominion points, before bosses such as nomad, pest queen, and decaying avatar started appearing very commonly in higher waves. But now it fails because the initial points for lower waves, the only ones you should do before quitting, give very bad points and gradually get better.)
  6. Ahh thanks for that. I knew it was health related, but didn't want to say 'If jad is under half health they will not spawn' because they have not spawned for me at 3/4th health before, and i assumed it was half health. No more than 4 typically spawn for me because i generally kill them before they heal him fully, i guess. About the full health thing. Does jad have to be none-full health per healer that dies? Or only for the 4th healer that dies? Or do they start spawning the second he gets full health? Or something else?!? Edit: Lost and regained a firecape today after posting this lol. Pretty eventful day.
  7. Gano and pps is brilliant. The only real trouble you'll have if inexperienced with jad is when the healers come. A brilliant way to deal with this is to claw jad as soon as the healers appear. He'll be 700-1200 hp depending on your final hit before the healers are called. You can easily double spec and then pps this health down before the healers can do anything. It's relatively safe too, as you tank melee and magic quite effectively, and fully protected from range, and you can get both specs in the time he has 1 chance to attack you. Use vengeance at this stage to make it even easier for you, especially if he melees or mages a nasty hit. Of course make sure you're full hp and 125 stats before you claw, to maximise the chance of a KO, and minimise the chance of death. The less climactic alternative is to just kill the healers with pps while protecting from jad. He will only spawn 8. (Very rarely spawns more than the initial 4, in my experience.) If you're using storm of armadyl, you can just ignore the healers and kill jad WHILE they attempt to heal him. Yeah. SoA is overpowered. This is the safest and easiest method.
  8. According to rs patch notes, Equilibrium originally didn't work with dark bow. But now it does. So that's kinda awesome for trying to 1 hit corp or multi pk rushing or whatever. It's suprisingly difficult to find videos of the aura in action as there is a pvp clan named Equilibrium and there are private servers named Equilibrium and not many people seem to have it. I did find a video of a guy that had it... and didn't enter combat once in the 9 minute video... DIE and a guy that tried it with dds and chaotics on cockroaches. If someone can find a video (or post one) of equilibrium effecting a korasi spec, or fighting nex, i love you long time.
  9. I got a late start since I left the chaos tunnels and then went to the cavern. Not sure how much more than an average of 60-70 an hour you think would be realistic. My best was 170 or so but I usually average 150. Granted that may *seem* low but I don't believe for a minute that the average is much higher. I'm sure people have POSTED they do 100+ an hour or something, but it's pretty common knowledge there's bs factored into most people's posted stats. I also tried soul split. with no protection from mage or range my health bar went down faster than I could replenish it with food. No doubt I just need some practice. I get about 140/hour in the ancient caverns... It's not hard to achieve. (Maul extremes void)
  10. I've maxed (orange splat) with 515 korasi no spec in max strength-1 void deflector. (-1 was b gloves instead of goliath) So if you've hit 560s on task, slayer helm works. Anyway for the thread, i'd recommend claws over bcp. Because if you don't have enough money for both, you need to make some money. Now days, slayer is not a good way to do that. Bossing however, is.
  11. I'd personally just powerfish in the barbarian fly fishing place. I can give you 5k fishing bait in game if you'd like.
  12. Surely you'd just find out the average xp of a hit and find out the accuracy from that. I'd be willing to collect hit/miss if there was an easier way to do it. I'm not going to physically keep track of every single hit as i play though.
  13. I'd personally be using bunyip so didn't think about summoning xp. An easier way around that is to just note down your melee style of choice's starting xp and ending xp. Then you can be sure the only xp you track is from combat with waterfiends. Plus it's probably slightly more accurate.
  14. Awesome. Only problem is that you can now choose 2 handed weapons with deflector mode, which you obviously can't actually wield simultaneously in runescape. :P
  15. Speaking of data collecting methods. Is there any easy way to note down hit and miss rates? Like an automatic external tool? (Not one that inputs anything to the game, one that just "watches", like the ones in WoW.) If not... would xp gained be a suitable alternative? Start with 0 xp counter and an hour later check it? This should only be melee/constitution xp so i don't see why it wouldn't work.
  16. I think when i get 99 attack i'll try to get some actual data, using ovls and piety at all times. I need to get some charms anyway :D I'm glad this thread got so much interest but it's a shame no one has tried collecting data to verify if the rapier is a contender or not.
  17. Prayer. How do you make money though? If it involves using money (such as merching) i'd recommend just saving it up till you can afford turmoil, overloads, bandos... etc.
  18. Noticed it was missing. It leads to a higher max hit (and THE highest max hits for most 1 handed weapons) and i think many would be interested to see this added to the calc. I know that you can just add +5/6 strength (b/goliath glove switch over DFS) in the custom value to find your answer, but this can't be done with weapon specials, and is overall just more effort for the user. Edit: Also noticed goliath gloves are missing too. Add those too :D
  19. Hah. The very way this scam functions only works on the gulliable and kind hearted. This is the type of thing that destroys someones trust forever, it's like it was created by the devil or something. I love it. Edit: Explanation for why i say that. First of all you must find someone is willing to trade you and hold onto your santa. Most would just assume it was some sort of scam and ignore the person. And then, your victim must be willing to give you 'your' santa BACK. You are punished for your kindness.
  20. Piety is better than turmoil due to waterfiends having no attack/strength bonus, but i recommend using curses anyway so you can use soulsplit to stay there longer.
  21. Black demons are good combat experience and effigies without a cannon, although they're a lot better with a cannon. Black dragons and metal dragons are also decent effigies. GWD bosses (K'ril and Graardor especially) are actually really good effigies if you solo, but looking at your levels, you're not really ready to do this. If you don't want to cannon because you want to save money, i'd recommend just cannoning black dragons anyway. It's actually a good profit with cannon, better effigy rate, and decent range experience which you clearly need. (Cannon in the chicken lair)
  22. I'd personally record a santa trust trade too. (Well i wouldn't be dumb enough to do a 'trust trade' but you get the idea.) As for the scam glitch, i'm calling BS till we see video proof. As far as i know, the lending system hasn't been changed in months, so it's highly unlikely theres a glitch that no one has stumbled upon by this time. More likely you just traded the wrong santa, or something.
  23. When accuracy isn't an issue, and you do take 52 minutes to recharge, rapier is only just slightly better than whip (ignoring the xp you'd get making the money and tokens.) But this isn't just about rapier, rapier is almost understandable as you'll see by my rant in the OP. Things like torva. Torva platebody costs 200k/hour combat to recharge. That's too expensive to be efficient anywhere other than a few bosses. That's completely untrue. 19 strength bonus is far from trivial. Idc about your other points cuz they're more or less correct, and that makes them boring. No, i mean it's roughly 10% higher max hit in otherwise max strength none degradable gear. So you save an hour every 10 hours, but spend 52 minutes charging it.

Kiting the 360s is really easy, and faster than pps, and you can wear melee armour to tank everything you're not praying against, so you might wanna do that. And because you don't have SS for healing, i'd definatley bring melee body and legs so you can tank the 90's. (Gano has next to no range defense)
