Whats better? Melee void, or bandos?
tip.it calculator is down, powerfrog is helpless! void probably. your equipment bonus needs to be less than 86 strength and 56 stab for +15 strength and +12 stab to be better than +10% atk and damage rolls. Thanks. (The 2nd choice i went to was xp-waste, but their calc doesn't seem to include void or salve ammy (e)) And i initially got it wrong, it's +25 stab as i'm using deflector. But i doubt that changes anything due to zombies low defense. salve (e) doesn't matter in equipment choice decisions such as these. You'd get the same result whether wearing salve (e) or not. I just assumed because it's based on %'s, it would effect the strength and accuracy of the armour, and wasn't sure how it worked with void. And thanks for the big wall of text above this by the way, interesting read i've got ahead of me while i afk zombies. :) I don't understand why people on this forum seem to treat me as a self proclaimed expert and take pleasure in correcting me... I just visit help and advice and try to help when i can, i don't know the numbers like you guys obviously do, and i'm not afraid to ask for help when i'm unsure.

Whats better? Melee void, or bandos?
Tip.it's max hit calc seems to be down so i can't use that. I'm just wondering what has the better max hit/accuracy when combined with salve ammy (e) at armoured zombies. Defense is meaningless as SS can heal any excess damage. Elite void has a +3 prayer over bandos + nez, but again that's nothing extremely important. So basically... +15 strength +25 stab, or void? All other gear is max strength equipment, with a rapier. (firecape, zerk (i), etc..)

how much brown spice?
Did you remove bank pin? I wish I had done this when I was low on cash for herb. I've done it on two accounts now, one with pin and one without. And i must say the pin is very annoying, but really doesn't cut off any time once you get used to doing it fast. (I typically do 28 of each extreme per login, or 12 ovls.) It might be a good idea to use a timer and start it at 58 seconds as soon as you log in. When its up, logout immediatley. (Leave the 2 seconds as when you click logout it will occasionally not actually do it immediatley. I learned this the hard way.)
-
how much brown spice?
I did the logout trick from level 83-91 making extremes and then overloads, doing a level with 1000s of extremes in one session at a time. Someone said +4 is 13%, i must have been extremely lucky as +5 seemed to be at least 10%.

what do you do with "Broad Leaf Arrow"?
Well if i personally trained 99 fletching with it, i'd probably want to keep the many thousands of arrows for no particular reason as it's stackable and only takes 1 bank space. If you can afford to train fletching with them, this probably doesn't apply to you, but they are pretty decent 'free' arrows, ranking just under adamant strength. Could be good for training slayer with a mage short or just general range training. It's probably best to stick to the more powerful knives/bolts and chins if you're making any sort of serious money though. Magic shortbow is the highest DPS weapon that can fire them. Maybe sighted longbow if you need the accuracy. If they became tradable they'd be at least mithril arrow price so you'd definatley get a nice chunk of money. But again if you've trained fletching with these, the extra money will probably be quite insignificant.

Oh cool a new item. How long till it degrades?
Well no. The only case where this actually works in terms of buying and selling if the ancient pvp weapons, as they physically vanish from the game. Dharok's platebody was at one time very rare and valuable, but over time more and more have come into the game and everytime one degrades, that money disappears for the repair, but the overall price is still crashing as more are coming into the game. I said that you would sell the item at a later date for a loss because more will be in the game by then. The greater supply and smaller demand will result in the overall cost being reduced, especially if another similar or superiour item is released in that time. Now that this item is cheaper the repair should be cheaper, but no, it's the exact same as it ever was and ever will be, no matter the intial cost. Just look at torag's helm. You can use that item for 20 hours before you've spent on repairs the price you initially paid for the actual item. That's not right. Static degrade costs only make sense if the game stops being updated and is 'finished'. Otherwise these prices should be expected to change with the flow of items, and become a nice cheap secondary option to whatever thing takes it's place as the best item. Buying and selling items is how the world works. If i buy and sell a car 5 years later does that mean i borrowed that car for 5 years? No, of course not. It was my property and i got paid money for it after i was done with it, probably making a huge loss. If i had that car for 5 years and paid 5% of it's cost a month while it's in my possession, then i was borrowing it. (Cars are a bad example lol. By this i do not mean insurance and MOT, which are totally different things.)

Monster Hunting Update Suggestion
I'm personally interested in methods to kill Tormeneted Demons but would never use tip.it guides as they have a nasty habit of being... Completely wrong in every imaginable way. But yeah, i'd like a decent guide for that, taking into consideration all types of players (maxed with b's, maxed with m's, lower levels...)

Oh cool a new item. How long till it degrades?
Yeah i never use my $2000 oven to cook baked potatos, that would be a waste. No. Not all things work this way. And even if they did we don't need this 'realism' in a game where i can turn mithril platebodies into gold coins while slaying a dragon with a fire surge and my summoned steel titan. This DOES help the economy slightly, but no where near as much as less annoying, wanted, methods would. Such as an in-game gambling system that takes 5% of the pot.

Oh cool a new item. How long till it degrades?
Exactly my issue. Sure, the repair cost may seem small after you've already thrown 1b at it. But it's actually not small at all and does hinder you. Alright, don't use torva on slayer tasks as you don't need the defense and they're not offensively better than bandos anyway. I'll do that, but i shouldn't have to. I bought this armour and it's rediculous i'm not allowed to use it for most things as it's not efficient to do so. It honestly feels like i'm renting the item and the initial cost is just the down payment to make sure i don't lose it. Makes the achievment of getting the best armour in the game lose most of it's shazam.

Oh cool a new item. How long till it degrades?
Correction they are expanding the degrade time not cutting the recharge cost. Besides I find these arguments utterly BORING, the vast bulk of degrading stuff (barrows, chaotics, nex and now polypore) is hardly expensive to repair. You make more than enough to cover repair costs while using it unless you are randomly doing stuff that has no good drops. Polypore is the most costy but flakes are so common they are coming down fast, sure its prob gonna be the most costy repair if you have to buy flakes; but if you get 95 slayer its hella cheap to get flakes. Well if you're wearing torva, and chaotic shield and weapon, you're spending 750k/hour of combat on repairs. That's a loss on almost all slayer tasks. Sure it may not seem like much if all you do all day is kill nex, but it's a loss or a huge cut of profit out of most things in runescape, forcing people not to do things for fun in their own armour, because damn, that's expensive! And yeah the new armour is going to be one of the cheaper ones as they made flakes insanely common. 95 slayer req didn't really cut the supply because after the bot nuke the most hours being put into the game is by the extremely high levels that already have skills like slayer. I look forward to using it at Corp when the price settles.

Durdael should assign red dragons!
I'd just like to say, i envy you blaze. I wish i could just be contempt with killing red dragons with my trusty battle axe. That sounds like so much fun! Instead i force myself to kill mithril dragons with the chaotic rapier and dragon defender because that is whats 'best'. And i only pick up drops that are most efficient to be picked up, leaving still valuable but 'not worth the time' items to rot away. I'm not sure why you hate summoning with such a passion though. It has nothing to do with pokemon other than both involving powerful combat creatures. And if you think pokemon started that, you clearly aren't aware of EVERY OTHER FICTIONAL CREATURE EVER. I urge you to give it a try, you might even make a new dragon killing buddy with Mr Arctic bear.

Oh cool a new item. How long till it degrades?
WHY?! Why do all items now degrade into nothing or have an extremely costly upkeep? It's an awful system that really takes the sense of owning an item away from me. It's more like i'm renting it. I'd much rather buy an item for 20m, use it for a few months and then sell it later for 17m. Instead i buy that item for 3m and use it for a few months, spending 50m on repairs, then sell it for 2.5m. That's not right. Chaotic rapier. Ok. I can partially understand this one, you screwed up your economy many years ago with the high alchemy spell and instead of admitting it's stupid and removing it from the game, you put these little money sinks into the game. Fine. I see dungeoneering as the ability to unlock the renting of this item, and i can pay a little money to use the best weapon in the game. And hell, those tokens have to go somewhere. Torva platelegs. Well. Similar to the above but i'm not really sure why these need to also have this drain. as if the straight up price wasn't enough. Oh well, i guess i can pay money for the best armour in the game. Although it now costs me MORE than i make at certain places just on equipment recharge rates, and even when it's profitable, the cost will always cut a huge chunk out of the gain. So i own the best armour in the game, but it's only worth using over worse armour in very few places. Goliath gloves. OH COME ON! I've just killed 500 bosses (Or the same 25 bosses, 20 times each), most of which took me 5 seconds to kill and 30 seconds to watch the same repetitive boring cutscene. And now i own these gloves, i can use them for an hour or two before having to kill another 5 bosses? WHY?! Are they made out of boss corpses? This doesn't even help the economy, this just brings me annoyance. I know 5 bosses is not a lot. BUT WHY?!? Ganodermic poncho. Uncharged cost, 400gp, cost to charge, 13m. Ok now you're just messing with me, right, jagex? This is a joke at my expense right? Or it was a mistake, a typo! Yeah that's it, you got the numbers mixed up and it's actually the rev-- no? Oh go to hell. Also, well done on making this item completely overpowered BUT making it extremely common drop and give people the ability to kill the creatures that drop the flakes when not on a slayer task. So not only have you made it easy to aquire very cheaply, making it way underpriced for it's use, you've also made every other item that has similar stats look significantly worse money for value and in turn also crash. So yeah. Great job guys. The only one of these i approve of are the wilderness weapons and armour. Mainly because they're in the game AS extremely overpowered and expensive items, and they're not trying to hide this fact. And once you've used your charges, you can't just recharge the same item (Leading to ever decreasing item prices and relatively increasing recharge prices) it's gone. Meaning that the only way you'll get another one is if someone gets one as a drop and sells it. THIS. Jagex. This i approve of. A purposefully powerful weapon that automatically shoots down it's demand with the supply as long as there are rich guys that want the best. I've had this little rant bottled up for a while and the new mage armour being entirely based on recharging and degrading has led me to letting it all out in this thread.

About to get Turm
The main advantage you have over 70 prayer is the ability to soulsplit. Turmoil is just the cherry on the cake. It's pretty hard to find something that is suddenly amazing for you, as most players get turmoil BEFORE they get uni/yak. But the soulsplit healing combined with the uni should let you camp things such as DKs and Glacors almost indefinatley. Alternatively you can now use a steel titan (when you get it) instead of a uni in a number of places, and instead use soulsplit flicks to heal the damage you take. Increasing your killspeed significantly. Turmoil is also obviously useful for PKing or FFA bossing, where the extra damage can really make a huge difference.

goliath gloves
Well i'm pretty sure the whip has a higher DPS than the chaotic maul on 1 defense. Again, whip is more powerful than ZS and SS, so it should beat those by a landslide. Sadly we do not know the exact hidden accuracy formula (Or waterfiends exact crush defense, for that matter) so it's hard to say if the gloves are accurate enough to contend with the maul.

dodgey jagex email? help please ;/
I got one earlier telling me i have more loyalty points. Today is the day i get more, it gave me the exact amount i had, and my RS username. So i was 99.99% sure it was legit. Still didn't click it, mainly because it told me what i already knew and i could just type 'ru' into the URL myself to be taken to the game when i wanted. (Kinda erks me, as i'm sure i told them NOT to email me when i signed up)

Best Aura for my Use
Vampirism is great for reducing food needed for bandos solo/crashing... But on the other hand, it's not really needed at all. I always end a trip because i run out of special restores before i run out of food, and that's with 85 defense and without a uni. The only way i can see it being significantly beneficial to a crasher is if you fill your BoB with super energy potions and bring a fruit bat for papayas. Meaning you can make special restore potions as you go. But that's all a lot of hassle and potentially dangerous with the lack of food and a nasty range combo from graardor. It might be useful if you're fairly low level and do not have soulsplit or a bunyip for slaying, but still not worth the points, and you'll get one of these in no time. I regret not getting jack of trades from day one now. I've missed out on about 540k free summoning experience. Just FYI, wisdom SUCKS. 2.5% extra experience for half an hour a day. If you're training herblore with extreme range potions and getting 600k/hour experience (One of the highest xp/hour you're likely to get training most skills). You will only get 7.5k experience from the aura. Alternatively you can get 8.38k experience from jack of trades for level 92 herblore. Free. The only real cases where its better are when you get high xp rates at low levels, or very extreme xp rates that you can't keep up. E.G. low level prayer training with frost bones, and training summoning with high level charms you already have. But for both of these, achieving these extreme xp rates for half an hour a day, you'll be 99 in a matter of weeks. And then you're back to wisdom being useless. (Not to mention that very few people can afford to train prayer that way, and if you include the time taken collecting the charms, jack of trades is MUCH better for achieving 99 summoning.) I really didn't intend to write that much lol. I guess i got carried away as this has been on my thoughts as well.

Melee Brawling Gloves
I'm guessing hellhounds or greater demons in the old bounty hunter volcano would be good. Alternatively, get a freind to no arm you and constantly eat while you attack him. I hear that the gloves last for X amount of hits instead of X amount of XP, so it's best to use a strong, slow, weapon such as a godsword or chaotic maul.

All slayer abilities requirement?
As Attenuation says, it really doesn't look like it from the way it's worded. But i havn't tested it myself. If you have everything but those 2 unlocked already, go check the requirements for it in the museum and that should be ticked off if you don't need them.

I just 'merched' a 3m bank into an 70m in 5 minutes.
Yep. Recently blew my bank on overloads so all i had was a pair of claws and 3m. Noticed these new polyspore seeds in the GE with a market price of 500gp. I immediatley put an offer in for 10k each to buy 100. After a minute of waiting i get them all in 1 big sale. Panic a little, if they sell so easy they must be common. Oh well. In they go for 50k. Sold. Instantly. For 100k each. 9m profit. Holy... Buy 1000 for 10k each, bought at about 100 at a time very fast. This time put them in for 70k each, sold for 70k each in a few minutes. Now sitting on about 70m profit. Put another offer in for 1000 at 10k each... Nothing. 11k each... Nothing. Ok i'm done here! Just looked, 15 minutes later, and can now buy them easily for about 800gp. You gotta be fast if you wanna make bank :P Sorry for no pictures. I'd show my grand exchange history but it's now full of 'you bought bandos tassets' and such :D :D :D

Anyone know GWD drop rates? Or nex?
Well assuming it's 1/225 for a bandos chest/tasset/boots... Even 2250 kills would be expected to only have about 10 of each, which isn't reliable at all. 22500 would have about 100 of each which would be much more reliable, but take forever to do. (And still far from perfect) Someone should really make software that does nothing but monitor your kills and loots, similar to some of the add-ons for WoW. This way we could collectively log this incredibley fast, and theres no fibbing going on to spoil the results. I think i'm going to start manually noting all my drops from now on to get a rough idea. When not training summoning, i generally do 3-4 trips a day, getting about 20 graardor kills a trip. (Short spec restoring crash trips) The above is quite easy for FFA/solo, because unlike lootshare, all kills will be noted in your adventurers log, and you get all the loot. So all you have to do is loot everything you get and look at your inventory at the end of the trip compared with the killcount from the adventurers log.

Anyone know GWD drop rates? Or nex?
You say that, yet no one, including you, seems to know this 'clear number' Guy that said 1/75. So you mean BCP, boots and Tassets are all 1/225? Or are you including shards and hilts?
-
Anyone know GWD drop rates? Or nex?
Can't seem to find any specific numbers and there are no drop logs large enough to show a clear number. My personal guess is any GWD specific item is 1/150 and nex armour is 1/300. But those could be way off. (As in all individual items have that chance, so a 1/37.5 chance of getting anything with 'armadyl' in the name at arma. Or a 1/30 chance of getting a nex armour/bow.)
-
bcp or dclaws
Use BCP at bandos solo. You're crashed so often (or can crash others so often) that the strength bonus is much more valuable than the magic defense of other items for more loot in less time. And any other competitive boss (Such as a FFA event) where you can sacrifice defense for power. I don't i've ever seen one person killing wyverns off-task.
-
bcp or dclaws
You havn't explained what you'd like to do. Slayer, sell the DFS and get a BCP and tassets if you can afford. Use dragon defender. Bossing, sell the DFS and get claws and BCP if you can afford. Use dragon defender. Dragon killing, sell the DFS and get BCP and tassets if you can afford. Use super antifires and dragon defender. Seriously people. Stop using DFS. It's a bad item.
