20-Mar-2012 - Bakriminel Bolts
You probably have to bring the tips to increase your risk when collecting logs in the wilderness. Meh. The headshot is overpowered, but no hybrid uses mage helms anyway, especially now, so it's practically useless.

Huh. Can't say I'm not a little disappointed in the special effects. Range is still a hell of a lot weaker than melee VS mages.

Best single target method of training ranged?
I would chin, but I'm thinking of ranging waterfiends after I hit 99 strength. If you want to range for charms, i recommend cannoning (While crossbow ranging) wallasalkis, they give good blues/crims, make a small profit even with the cballs, and give good range xp. Waterfiends have high range defense.

C maul beats rapier at bandos. Really?
He quotes under 40% accuracy with rapier. I feel like i have way higher accuracy with it and may do some testing of my own when i hit 99 attack. Also as expected the gear used is slightly outdated, and what he calls "solo gear" isn't what i, and most people i meet crash use either, the 'max strength' gear which i and many use is very close to CLS with outdated gear, and it doesn't account for overkill, dreadnips, or other players. Theres very little information about the maul, but it does seem WAY better than rapier, but in my personal practical experience the difference is very close, with rapier seemingly in the lead, so I'm calling shenanigans. It also doesn't count the first hit because of turmoil boosting, while nice for clean statistics, isn't actually practical in finding out which is the best weapon and favours slower weapons as faster ones get the first hit out of the way and into the action faster, so to speak. (I know he can't really avoid this, I'm just saying that the results are inherently going to show faster weapons weaker than they actually are.) I know i sound like i want the rapier to win this, i don't know why, i love my maul, but it just doesn't seem correct.

Best single target method of training ranged?
Fighting the decaying avatar in dominion tower freestyle, with ruby bolts (switch to diamond at about half hp) is pretty awesome xp with elite seers diary complete. It best for LOW level rangers as bolt specials are not effected by your level or accuracy, yet the ruby bolt special is guaranteed (and hits 2000 at full hp!!!) and the diamond bolt is guaranteed to hit when the bolt special activates. Let the ava heal when he gets to 2/3rds health, and again at 1/2th health but once he gets to about half health after this one, log out and quickly start again to maximise the use from the ruby bolts you get. Or you can just pray melee in good prayer gear, with ava's accumulator collecting your bolts, and instead of logging out, leaving when your prayer runs out and you die. (There is a safespot if you don't have 43 prayer, but you don't get your bolts back unless you run and get them, and they can be kinda expensive.) I haven't recorded the xp/hour there but I'd bet it's the best single monster range training method until at least 70 range, maybe 99. (Honestly though, just chin :P)

C maul beats rapier at bandos. Really?
How long ago was the test though? Quite a few things such as rhino cape, stead fasts, goliaths... etc... Have came out fairly recently, which all give advantage to faster weapons. (More importantly, did he use dragon defender, or a shield?) I personally feel that the rapier is quite accurate on Graardor, at least accurate enough to make the increased accuracy of chaotic maul not a huge deal. And on top of all this, the cmaul has more overkill to deal with which is still worth mentioning with Graardor's fairly low 2.5k health Also, i don't find chaotic maul significantly easier to SS flick with than rapier, seeing as Graardor's attack speed is faster than it. If that argument is going to made for weapon choice, CLS should win as it has the same attack speed. (While rapier IS easier to flick with on the minions, as they have rapier speed, i always go from ~300 to full hp from the minions with rapier, rarely above 800 with maul) And is chaotic maul SIGNIFICANTLY more powerful than rapier to warrant A). Using it in the first place and B). Using two inventory slots on rapier and defender, as it's minion killing speed is almost essential for a relaxed solo and less so for fast KC. (Can i get a link to the test results? I wanna see the exact numbers.)

C maul beats rapier at bandos. Really?
I'm sorry but I'm going senile. I remember being convinced that it does, but now, looking at the stats, i can't see HOW. In my bandos gear with rapier i have 156 strength bonus and and 146 stab bonus. In the same gear with maul i have 204 strength bonus and 194 crush bonus. The stat increases doesn't really seem to justify the slower weapon speed to me, especially as rapier already seems decently accurate. Not to mention its SO much better on the minions. I'm not expecting the rapier to actually win, as i remember being so sure that it didn't not long ago and don't expect the rhino cape to push it over the edge, but I'd like to be reminded why maul is better and more importantly, how much better it actually is.

Ranged and Mage Slaying
Dragon darts are only slightly worse than rune knives, especially when stacked with ferocious ring and I'd recommend them over rune knives to anyone that isn't insanely wealthy (i have a sneaky suspicion you are...)

Selling granite helm for 1 gp in ge and it's not buying?
Yep. Happens all the time. I often take advantage of it by putting a very low buy offer in so I'm the only person that's buying and can then resell/alch Edit: Not specifically with granite helm. With all fairly uncommon items.

Ranged and Mage Slaying
You should cannon kalphites. Hellhounds are actually pretty awesome to semi-afk rune knife with a few prayer potions, and right next to kuradel. Other than that 'SoA everything' comes to mind, but i don't know much money you're willing to throw away. Rune knives are much higher DPS than rune bolts, on extremely low defense creatures. (You hit 2.5 times for every 1 crossbow hit. Bolts are only slightly above double rune knives max hit.)

Curious how effective this Corp killing method is...
I thought familiars were a bad idea at corp because it ate them and regained help? I didn't mention familiars. I'm assuming you meant to quote hedgehog though, i think he's just talking about general combat in his post, and not corp.

Curious how effective this Corp killing method is...
Turns out karabwan doesn't heal in 1 tick (anymore?)... Just had a bandos trip to try it and it healed in the same manner as all fish such as sharks dp. I know there are other foods, pizzas being the most obvious example, are there anything better than pizzas/pies though? (I wonder how practical all summer pies would be for things like bandos... Especially when stacked with spice pouch)
-
Curious how effective this Corp killing method is...
Hmm. I knew about the karambwan but assumed it would be way more expensive. I'll definitely look into that (not only for corp, but for bandos and others! :o) As for the sharks never being useful... Really? Losing an attack turn isn't always the end of the world, especially when you often only have to eat when you're already being pummeled.
-
Curious how effective this Corp killing method is...
Trio. Only use sharks for healing. Aim for one kill (Two if the first goes well) and then bank. Seeing as banking takes little over a minute, you barely lose any time but still save m's an hour on what you would have spent on brews. You should always be profiting even from the common drops like cannonballs. Pretty much everyone does this with 8+ people for very long trips and low loot, or they use all brews for very long trips with good loot, but expensive supplies. Why not go in the middle? (Bring a few pineapple pizzas to combo eat in cases where corp owns you)

Stop decreasing the price of the dragon platelegs.
This whole thing basically boils down to 'You think they're worth 1m? Pay 1m for them then. Everyone else clearly does not, and will not.'

28-Feb-2012 - Squeal of Fortune
I want a divine or ely for personal use, or 10m to go towards buying a divine or other gear. A lucky DFH would be kinda lame, but a lucky neiz helm (or indeed torva helm) would be epic because i get to use it for practical use while still showing off. I feel the same way about skill capes, they look pretty but I'm going to stick to the rhino cape for stats. (Comp cape being overpowered as it is was a brilliant idea, and a good incentive to max for combat junkies) "but they are hardly that rare or, well, exciting tbh, I would actually think "wow he has a lucky divine", and just ignore a trimmed comp cape." I'd be the same, but i wouldn't be impressed with the players ability to roll onto the lucky divine reward, while i would be impressed with the player that got a comp cape. (Impressed is probably not the word I'm looking for, lol.)

Tassets drop... From a minion!
Really? I've had about 10 shards from minions but never an armour piece. I've had over 25 armour pieces from Graardor in that time, though.

Tassets drop... From a minion!
I have no idea how rare this is, but I've killed literally 1000's of minions and it's the first time they've dropped an armour piece before, and i caught it on video! :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZ3Zynn3vUE

Chaotic
Rapier. Infact, the better your stats and gear gets, the better the rapier becomes. (Due to the faster speed taking advantage of the better gear bonus, and the lower accuracy being balanced by your higher attack level) Any place where CLS beats rapier (Only extremely high defense creatures), the maul beats the CLS. So theres no reason to use CLS ever, unless you need to tank an extremely high defense creature with a shield. (Tanking is generally a bad idea now days. You often save more time by not tanking and doing another trip.)

50m in 1 week how u would do it?
Do dailies, buy basic offensive gear, make some ovls/spec rests, borrow d claws (using the ingame lend system, no cheating!) and go crash bandos. Upgrade your armour as you make money. Could quite easily make the 50m in day 1 if you no lifed. I think dicing is a very stupid way to do it. It's like saying 'Killing 60 goblins and getting 60 vecna skull drops' Sure it's POSSIBLE, but it's not likely. Things like MTK shouldn't count because i could easily just go exchange my slay points and sell runes for 50m, the point is that you don't have that in place already.
-
So i truly don't get it...
I don't believe that the hackers that do it are pure evil psychopaths, i believe that they justify doing it to themselves for a reason you may find stupid. "This guy has got 99 agility, he must be addicted, if i drop his stuff maybe he'll quit and become the next president" or "Screw this guy! All his 99's are bot skills! Get out of my game, botter!" ...People are dumb, and these types of thought processes go a lot further than runescape.

How do people typically train the following:
Magic: Plank make. About 130k/hour xp and a small profit. Herblore: The best potion you can make that isn't ridiculously expensive, avoid uncommon ones like zamorak brews. ALL extremes once you have the level to create them, they're technically expensive per xp, but having them is invaluable. Summoning: Pretty much what you said. The most important way to speed this skill up is to improve your charm collecting, waterfiends are very good at >120 crimsons an hour. Prayer: Frost dragon bones on your own altar, regular dragon if you have a low income. (It's almost always worth getting your own altar, one because 70 con is a quest req, two because it's relatively cheap compared to the money blown on prayer anyway.) Dungeoneering: Eh. It's hard to say. Teams are always better than solo, even for rushing the lower floors.

Moblising armies
I found it one of the more fun minigames  It's definitely worth it, zerker is +4 strength bonus over the next best alternative. (+5 over vigour.) and the rest are also the best in their respective field, too.

I'm sick of randoms
Randoms have always not given you xp lamps occasionally, presumably to screw with a bot that looks for the xp lamp reward and can't continue till it can find it. (Same applies to the other common rewards, like ore)
