  1. That's what I'm saying too. I don't think we're on the same page :P
  2. How long have you been clanning for? Since '02, but got into the real clan world in '04. Since joining clans, how do you feel you have changed? eg: maturity, humour, knowledge etc Clanning has affected nearly every aspect of my life. Who or what clan, if any would you say caused these changes? PKM's been my only clan. Has any of these changes carried over into real life, if so, how?[ Of course the changes carried over into real life. I don't have separate Internet and IRL personalities; how I act here is how I act in real life. If you could start over clanning again, what would you do differently? Discover the clan world sooner Do you have any goal or ambition to do with clanning, if so, what? In RSC, I told my members we may not become the biggest clan around, but we would surely become the strongest. Years later, that vision is not possible of course. Being more realistic, my current dream is to grow large enough and have a high enough combat average to compete with top clans. Do you have any regrets? Sometimes I tell myself if I didn't have my clan, I would be much further into my gaming career. Then again, if I didn't have my clan, I wouldn't have known what it was like to be a long-term player. Altogether, I'd say no. No regrets.
  3. I've never looked for another clan. Founding PKM was my start into the clan world. I understand the public appearance of a clan shouldn't be the reason for joining. Explanation: What's the bigger waste of time: joining a clan to try it out and then leaving once you decide you don't like it or staying in a clan as a half-assed, inactive member for some inane sense of 'honor'? I'd rather be labeled a 'clan hopper' than just another inactive face in the crowd. I got a feel of a clan's community by idling in their IRC. I didn't really know anyone, but I liked what their community looked like on the outside. So I joined. A month later, I found out that it really wasn't the clan for me and I couldn't dedicate enough time to it, and I left. I don't see anything wrong with that, nor do I consider it a 'waste of time'. For the time I was in that clan, I gave 100%, loved it heart and soul, and posted as often as I could to get closer to the community. I didn't waste their time, and they didn't waste mine. It was a fair exchange. At first your story first confused me, but I then realized we're both basing our arguments on two different motives for leaving. In my post, my definition of getting to know a clan was idling in their IRC, watching their videos, and reading their topics--essentially everything community. But what I didn't consider was the reason you left: its inner workings--events, rules, and structure. You left because of the clan's fundamentals, not its community, therefore a revised version of my post should be "My mindset in '05 was that most applicants would know a clan's community before joining." In your case, because you got to know the clan beforehand and gave your full effort, I have to agree that you did not waste any time at all.
  4. My mindset in '05 was that most applicants would know a clan and its members before joining. That's the sensible route to take. Nowadays players join clans, find out they don't like them, and hop to another clan. Why waste your and the other clan's time? To be honest, I haven't even thought of loyalty in clans for the past two years. Shows how much things have changed. As for veterans, the fact that they have lived through their clan's disappointments, slumps, and failures for so long garners my respect.
  5. RT had the advantage in experience here. Good job, guys.
  6. Close. Good job, LTH.
  7. Not MoD =/ RIP guys. I have an irl friend who ex-MoD. He'll be sad to hear the news.
  8. Woo, go Gladz.
  9. Haven't heard from Spiritz in years. Good job, TSE.
  10. Buy as much warring gear as possible.
  11. Didn't know IQ could pull those ops. 100% of their ML?
  12. My respect, Akel. You defeated PKM. I guess we'll never have that rematch.
  13. An absolutely disgusting response. I was shocked to see you represent Tip.It. Look at his point count. Look at his join date. You can't expect every member to be aware of these topics. If you want to put the blame on the users, add the subject to this thread.
  14. What I should have said was they stopped getting posted when I went inactive, which was long before I was no longer a mod :P
  15. Bad pull for Akel.
