Shouldn't users be allowed to remove posts on their threads
No, you're just flaming for the sake of flaming. You know as well as anybody you aren't "enlightening" people and aren't going to change one damn thing, but you and other grammar nazis just keep doing it, just for the sake of being able to say "haha I'm right, you're wrong, and you suck". Quit trying to sugarcoat it, it's never fooled anybody. And you want to know what's really ironic? That you get so wound up because somebody posted something that didn't follow every law in your high school English class. Since when did it hurt you? The OP's post was completely legible, even if a couple of the sentences were run-on or missed a period. It's not bad sentence structure that's hurting this forum's community, it's losers like you (yes, that's a direct burn) that would be forced silent if they couldn't mindlessly attack people because they skipped a comma.

I hadn't posted in this thread before that, so I don't know what you're talking about. If you knew me in real life, you'd know I hate "fat gene" and crap like that as much as the next person - but that doesn't mean I go to McDonalds and tell every fat person I happen to cross paths there "you suck and cause eyepain for everybody around you, and you did it to yourself, loser. Go join Jenny Craig." You see, I may dislike lazy excuse making, but I hate self proclaimed "___ police" even more. You logged into McDonalds, so don't act like you didn't know what to expect. Believe it or not, self righteous grammar gripes make you look dumber than some 4chan addict, and seriously, there are better social masks to hide behind than "angry, misunderstood english grad school dropout".

If you can't see the hypocrisy in that statement, you're blind as a bat. And seriously, you really need to take your social insecurity and keep it off these boards, because it's obvious as daylight that you have some serious issues if you track people down on an internet forum just to tell them that their punctuation sucks. Lay the [bleep] off.

karils is an EPIC FAIL!
Neither do I. My ranged is my only non-max combat skill and even with a measly 79 range I'll beat any mage in a 1v1.

I feel its time to remove non ge trades.
Please don't tell me you're that ignorant. Have you seen the spec on those claws? The damage they put out? That, coupled with the fact that they are a rare drop are a recipe for a high price. I mean, look at the dragon chain - worthless in every aspect, much easier to get, and they're still fairly pricey. I would pay 10m for a pair of those, easy, the ko factor on those claws are more than reason enough. And those merchants wouldn't be getting those prices if people like me didn't think it was worth it. Guess what? Apparently enough other people agree with me and are willing to pay a pretty damn reasonable price for a rare dragon drop with a whoopass spec. Honestly dude, it doesn't matter you don't think it's worth it. Do you under a single thing about economics? A seller will ALWAYS try to get as much as he can for his item. A buyer will ALWAYS try to get the item for as little as he can. Both parties are willing to compromise to a certain degree, depending on how many people are willing to buy and how many people are willing to sell. That's what sets a price, and no matter what Jagex thinks, setting arbitrary "this is what we believe it should be worth" controls can't change what players are willing to pay or sell for. That's called supply and demand, and you fail at it. And really, do you know a single thing about the RS market in general? The GE prices on phats are overpriced, not underpriced. If the prices were to get fixed, they'd be lower than they are now. I'm not trying to rip anybody off by selling for exorbitant prices, I just want to be able to use a great concept effectively rather than forcing the hard working players that want to buy my hats to gather junk so they don't rip themselves off because the GE says party hats are worth more than they actually are. No, it's not a dragon plate. Like you said, "comparing dragon claws to the dragon plate is like comparing a cloud to a buffalo". The claws actually have a purpose. The claws are the best ko weapon to date, while the dragon plate is just a poor man's 3rd age melee set, worthless for anything but looks. The claws are rare and incredibly effective, and if you can't recognize the KO power in that weapon you must have the IQ of a chipmunk. I'm going to give you some slack and assume you didn't know about the claws spec, but really, when you're taking electives for credits, pick up economics 101.

The messed up combat... shape...?
Is what I wrote. Never said 360 def with 130 mage, I mentioned the option of changing out a piece of armor for a verac (bottom, typo) for more melee defense. I overrated the melee defense on the second outfit some, but I never said +360 slash. It's a choice between +35ish magic defense and +60ish slash. I will admit I haven't seen the miasmic spells in action, so things may have changed some, but even then, they encourage using magic as a sidearm for melee or range rather than addressing the issues magic still has. A mage may be able to kill melee now, but a ranger would do a better job after using mias and ice. Magic needs to stand on its own, and nice as the new spell is, it just expands hybrids. Magic gets an effective new toy, but magic isn't any more its own skill other than mages are no longer as squishy as they were. As for the seers ring, when your damage 100% relies on not getting hit, the extra defense weighs higher on the scale than +4 str. And you can keep wearing your defender, but my DFS is tried and true and I'm not about to change it off for a slight attack bonus.

The messed up combat... shape...?
It's been a while since I've played actively, so I overrated the magic def a bit, but this was my generic outfit for situations where I was getting hit with a lot of both magic and melee (such as by a good hybrider or when getting piled in the fight pits, for example). 111 magic def, 312 slash. Some people would argue against the seers ring, I've used both seers and zerker, it's just a matter of preference. And the defender is NOT better than the DFS, especially not in hybrid situations where your opponent is wearing lighter armor. This is my anti-mage outfit, the one I beat most mages in. It has the same defense against slash your outfit has, give or take 10 points, with 146 magic defense against your 74 accuracy. I use other outfits as well, depending on the situation (e.g I would trade out the boots for infinity when fighting a range/mage hybrid) but these were my basic two that I took to practically every pits and clan wars game. If I start playing again I would probably pick up one of the new shields to start with.

karils is an EPIC FAIL!
lol. every mage uses arhims lol they just swich out the staff for autocasting purposes. karil's is definatly the rarest barrows armour you will see anyone in. especially full karils lol karils is the least usefull barrows in my opinion. what mage would actually try to take a ranger? :twss: Meant the set effect never got used, everybody has a set of Ahrim. I see Karil top and body out a lot, it's like required Castle Wars gear. I've had my set for ages and I don't plan on selling it anytime soon.

The messed up combat... shape...?
+258 slash is only slightly better than rune. I'm not going to have a problem hitting that. And you seem to be counting out range armor on the melee's part while wearing a mix of melee on your mage. A melee, wearing an effective mage def set (I remember doing the pits in an outfit that sat at around +130 magic with over 300 slash, with the option of adding an extra 60 slash or so by switching to a verac top) will smoke a mage. The damage is just too plain low. A warrior in whatever armor he wants, using just melee, holds the odds when faced with a mage wearing whatever armor he wants, using just magic. It's true that magic doesn't affect combat in the way melee does, but that doesn't excuse ineffectiveness at max combat. If magic was trainable to 140 or so to cover the level difference it wouldn't be as much of an issue, but since you can't, magic should be a reasonable option at max melee. Right now, it's definitely subpar.

karils is an EPIC FAIL!
Karil's crossbow is an improved mage short bow. Same speed, better damage, higher cost. It's nice but not game breaking. The mage set's effect has always sucked as well. The staff already forced you to lose a shield, as well as completely prohibiting god spells (so useless to modern magic) and no autocast for ancients. The strength drain is nice, but the cost in everything else has always been too high, so it never got used.

The messed up combat... shape...?
What outfit is that? Please tell me...? Please? I'd be glad to. Fire Cape (I have to use 99, no fire cape yet) Verac's Helm Master Wand Ahrim Robetop Dragonfire Shield Ahrim Robeskirt Dark Gloves Dragon Boots Seer's Ring An Elysian shield would provide even more defence, but this +255 slash\+281 crush\+10 prayer\+74 magic outfit does the trick quite nicely. Here's a screenshot in case you still don't get it: [hide=][/hide] Then you pull out a dd++, and guess what? You have +70 more melee defence then him, so you've got a big advantage! The second he tries to put on melee armor, BAM, he's frozen! Oh, and don't forget that his attacks are going at HALF speed, so your going to be out hitting him almost 3 to 1. Bye bye, meleer... Any further questions? Yeah, I want to see you with a screenshot holding the new pvp world staff, because I honestly doubt you're dumb enough to waste a 6.5m staff earning 100k stakes in the duel arena or hoping for an above 150k drop on pvp worlds. +74 magic attack isn't going to scratch me, that's nothing more than a hypothetical outfit you invented to strengthen your point. If I renew members, I'll look you up, you'll be 99 mage #17 to date that I'll school with melee alone. :D On a player with 0 magic def, a mage still only averages around 17 damage per cast, on someone with decent gear and stats that drops down to a pathetic 9 or 10 (including splashes). On prayer, it halves again. And I don't care what you think, you won't kill me with 6 damage per cast. Ranged is balanced with melee - melee holds the edge, but range has a very solid chance still. When magic finally gets its update, that's what they need to shoot for with balance against range; enough accuracy to hit through hides. I honestly think increasing bind times on spells is not the answer magic needs, since it benefits other classes more through hybriding. A solid, accurate, 40 max mage spell book, with 10 second binds and decent melee defense on armor. More damage, less hybrid interest, and putting the edge with the mage versus a melee while giving the warrior a chance, while having enough accuracy to hit a ranger enough to give him a run for his money. Oh, and a ko.

I feel its time to remove non ge trades.
Which doesn't answer the question; why the [bleep] weren't the prices set at something reasonable from the start? I mean, look at the dragon platebody, it was set at a relatively reasonable starting price, and it's buyable on the GE and as the "new itemness" of it wears off the price drops naturally. If I want to buy a pair of claws now for a fair 20m, why should I have to junk trade when Jagex could have set the damn thing up right in the first place? THE GE WORKS. When Jagex allows it to. It's not our problem, it's Jagex's, so honestly why should we lose more of the game to cover a supposedly "professional" company's [wagon]? And the fact that you couldn't answer a single part of my argument but to say "well just wait" only reinforces it. Thanks.

I feel its time to remove non ge trades.
I doubt it. They nerfed the drop rate on dragon claws yet again. They're intended to be a highly sought after, pricey weapon. Sure, maybe in 3 years the price will drop to 350k. (and believe me, it's going to take that long, easily, unless something drastic changes.) If the GE works so well, why not set the starting price at something reasonable, like 30m, with 10% margins to accommodate new item unstableness for the first month or so, and let the system work? Just watch the prices drop as the demand does. After all, you should give the system a chance... Instead, they set the most unreasonable price on an item yet, and force everybody to either rip themselves off for a freakin' 16,000% loss, or higher, or junk trade and bypass the system, starting a vicious cycle that will take months to correct, if at all. So you are the only person who can determine "reasonable"? Some random price that only you find acceptable? Sorry, markets don't work like that, no matter how big you think you are. If I remember correctly, 3rd was mispriced the opposite way, undervalued on the ge, much like claws are now. I had a offer standing at max for a 3rd age mage top for over 2 months without a sale. If the GE is hurting anybody, it's hurting the new players that get lucky on a level 3 and get ripped off by prices that have been faulty since release almost a year ago. I don't like junk trading. It's a pain. Nobody that uses junk trading really likes it - but when even the most basic rules of supply and demand are stifled by unreasonable controls, you have to branch out into other methods. I don't see why people are so mentally disabled and insist on removing the symptom rather than fixing the problem. I mean seriously, when the "change oil" light comes on, it's time to tear out the warning light, right? Exactly. But seriously, would you sell your rare pair of dragon claws for 490k on the GE when it's worth easily over 50 times that, just to fix a mistake you had nothing to do with? Your argument would only hold weight if the prices started at something reasonable for a new, powerful weapon release, but they didn't, and this mess is what you get.

jagex favors melee
According to that logic, why should Jagex ever bother fixing broken parts of the game? You're supposed to play the whole game, who cares if parts suck.
-
I feel its time to remove non ge trades.
Sorry, but that's not going to happen. Junk trading is a symptom, not a cause. Items like whips and barrows gear, or even expensive luxury items like dragon chainbodies and bandos armor, are never junk traded with or for because they are priced correctly. If Jagex would get off their lazy [wagon] and fix what only they can fix, junk trading would disappear completely. I mean, take a look at the new Dragon Claws. A rare drop like that, in as high as demand as they are, and Jagex sets the starting price at 150k? It's not the player's fault that they have to resort to other methods to get their fair value for the newest must have weapon, which is selling right now for 20m street value (at last check). You want to fix that price? Suit yourself, it's only going to take a loss equaling several billion to fix the company's mistake. Fix the prices on 3rd age. Fix the prices on the phats and the other messed up items, and junk trading will disappear on its own, for good, without removing more game freedom. And I find it ironic that you, one of the people that contributed to the steaming [cabbage] controls Jagex placed on this game, are trying to get yet another part of the game removed. Go back to your quitting.

How hard are Steel Dragons on task with 96 attack?
Don't unblock them unless you're planning to block something else, they still suck.

PvP - Why do Jagex appeal to these people?
I can verify that. Self evidence. I mean hell, they don't even like combat!

Dragon - Taking A New Turn?
No biggie, you'd only have an extra +130 str on a full dragon set. Now, about horses...

karils is an EPIC FAIL!
Epic Fail was originally a term used in DnD for when you rolled a one. Basically, if that happened, something REALLY horrible would happen. Like spontaneous combustion. Or a heart attack. With the advent of the internet, DnD nerds were capable of communication without leaving their house and so this wondrous term was brought into public view. Or in other words when they discovered 4chan.

Dragon - Taking A New Turn?
Explain how this has happened for the DFH? Hasn't been out long enough, yet.

Elite armor
Too bad, I wanted to see the tears when some random pure went BH in a set. : Would have made it worth the cost at least.

Elite armor
My members expired, so I can't do the new quest. Is it true that the new elite black armor has no defense requirement? http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... le_id=2157 I'm guessing that's a mistake.

Pking is bad but low-risk PvPs are cool

PvP - Why do Jagex appeal to these people?
Spend a day in playing any other competitive minigame in RS (barb assault, orbs, hell even implings or training at bandits), and you'll run into the same types of people. The only reason pkers seem that way is because they're a group that bases their gaming on heavy competition - other people. just as idiotic, aren't noticed because they're usually engaged in non-aggressive [cabbage]. Put those "skillers" in a competition setting and you'll get the exact same results. Just put up some competition mining granite, and you'll see how "mature" those skillers are.
