  1. One hour completely kills them for anything but speccing imo...especially if they're a rare drop to begin with. If they were made rare drops that only work in pvp servers, but last forever with high repair costs (500k+ per repair degrading every 3 hours), then they'd be worth it.
  2. Sounds interesting. That new mage staff is a must have. One hour duration sucks though.
  3. I saw your post, it wasn't worth addressing. I rarely run out of prayer in pvp, and that's versus smiters. That's a nonfactor. In the worst case scenarios you sprint out when you use your last dose. Just because your prayer might last 20 seconds longer doesn't mean [cabbage] when the other guy decides to run and the best you can do is hope for a 27 over prayer. Like I said, you will NOT ko me if I use prayer. End of discussion. It's not a duel or a minigame, there's absolutely nothing keeping me there when I run low on prayer or food. If anybody needs it read, it's you. I said before I'm not in any way a pure. I pk with full armor. The entire difference between armor and prayer is armor does NOT get in the way of a decent fight, and while it slows down damage, it does not completely negate any form of ko ability. I could head out in 40m+ worth of tanking gear, +400 slash def, and still get koed by a lucky spec. That's not going to happen with 43. Seriously get your [wagon] out of your wagon and learn something about pking, ignorant arguments based off inexperience aren't going to win [cabbage]. Your opinion is meaningless until you've actually done some real pvp. And sorry, but CW and the Duel arena are NOT pvp.
  4. I hate repeating myself, but I'm going to have to go back to the same argument I've been saying forever that nobody seems to grasp. PKing is NOT a duel. Therefore, when safety is such a short distance away, it is an ignorant, stupid, and self determental move to use prayer, because NOBODY will stick around to finish the fight. Call me outdated, but I'm not going to waste my food and pots on some kid that doesn't have the balls to fight without prayer because when he put that on, even with my magic hybriding that I have ALWAYS done, the odds of getting something are much much lower. I don't need the hassle. That's my side. Thing is, almost every pker out there would react in the same way. So how intelligent is using prayer now, when you aren't going to get [cabbage] because nobody is going to bother with you? Pray all you want, I'll just slap on my protect melee and get out of there in search for someone that actually has a pair. False argument I've dealt with again and again, please l2read. And honestly, most of the true pkers out there aren't even pure. I'm sure as hell not, and I find protect prayers [developmentally delayed]ed. Points to answer above. Just look at my previous responses. You will find almost NOBODY out there without prayer. Pures aren't the only ones complaining. Seriously, I've seen people brag about how intelligent the average tipiter is, but I have to disagee. Most can't even be bothered to read. There are more intelligent people on Zybez lately, and a while ago I would have said that would take a divine miracle. Guess I believe in God now.
  5. I'm more interested in the fact that they mentioned healing magic. Lunar isn't healing. Although I personally doubt it, I'm crossing my fingers that this 150th quest releases a much needed update to bring magic back on par with ranged and melee. Picked teleporting though. I travel too [bleep]ing much.
  6. I was never a pure, and I never had problems fighting pures without protect prayers. As long as you have a decent strength and magic level, have above 80 combat, and actually have some skill at pking and play your cards right you will NOT have problems with pures, end of discussion. (And by decent strength and magic I don't mean 75 in both) You want to know the reason that high strength and attack are better than defense in pking? It's not because defense is ineffective - it's because it is NOT a duel. Pking is almost a mind game where you try to keep the other person fighting you long enough to pop a couple lucky numbers and drop him while avoiding the same thing from yourself. Protect prayers might help if you were in Al-Kharid, but when safety is 10 steps away prayers are totally counterproductive. No pker is going to stick around and fight someone that's 43ing their damage. Seriously, I've explained this over and over and you still don't seem able to comprehend that protect prayers are pointless because of one plain, simple reason; pking is NOT a duel.
  7. I challenge you to find me a viable, effective p2p pure that doesn't have at the very least 44 or 52 prayer. Go on, do it. I hate this "but the pures don't have prayer" argument, it's [developmentally delayed] and false. 13 prayer is statistically the best prayer for melee pures with 1 defense (all the way up until 99 strength)...It's amazing how few people know that. If you want a name, X Arikado X. Good on paper, bad in practice.
  8. I'll go there, because its a strong argument. Everyone seems focused on the fact that protect prayers drag out a fight, but dont complain about steel skin/the 20% you get from piety? Sofar, what I've read (every page) has people arguing that it "isnt true pking if you arent going on the full offensive 100% of the time to guarantee someone dies". well thats blatantly stupid, strategy>dieing  if I want to boost my offence, defence, and shave 30% of your damage off,by god i will. you can go ahead and use piety/smite, it wont do you much good in the end, considering my prayer will cancel out your added strength/attack and then some, AND I still have a fair boost from my other prayers. PKer's who whine and complain should do what is in human nature and adapt- people arent going to play by your game anymore, so dont expect them to, like I said before- ADJUST adapt, change, evolve, use any dirty tricks you have to to win. this isnt a bout of fisticups, this is player killing for money and glory. and dont pretend you give an ioda of your concience to the money your opponent spends on food/potions. YOU know you want them to waste it all, you KNOW you want them to die, so do what it takes to ensure they do! as for the summons, I was just pointing out that there is a viable option in theory to effectively replace smite (and metal armors dont matter- the bat attacks with MAGIC) as for the actual topic- yes, the days when everyone was afraid to loose their stuff and the wilderness was just turning into the land of douchebaggery and conceded omnisient [puncture]s Did you even read my post? I doubt it. "do what it takes to ensure they do! (die)". I am. GL killing me if I'm forced to put protect prayer on. (And if you protect melee from me, that's exactly what I'm going to do.) You're counterdicting yourself, and all you've proved is that you know absolutely nothing about pking and how it works. Your idea of pvp is probably limited to some half hour you spend last week in the fight pits. I garentee you, if I "tank" with protect prayers and the right gear you will NOT be able to ko me. Period. No 15-14 spec is going to drop me, end of discussion. Those "dirty tricks" are [cabbage]. I don't know how to explain this more clearly, but they aren't tricks if they [bleep]ing shoot YOU in the foot, and that's exactly what protect prayers do. You might call this a "pker's game" or whatever. All I know is back when I used to pk in this game, I wouldn't bother fighting prayer noobs like you. Why? Because I won't get anything but a hassle out of it, and while it's true I don't care one bit about the other person, I can't help but think how stupid they are being and how they aren't going to get [cabbage] unless they pj someone. You protect melee, I protect melee. Nobody gets killed and you end up walking away from the wildy going "lul this place is nothing but a waste of money". You call that strategy. I call that ignorance. It's only strategy if it actually accomplishes something.
  9. True. But I garentee you, unless you're planning to teleport to trollheim, ape atoll or varrock 190,000 times, you're not about to dent my fire supply. I'm just hangin' on to them until the day comes that a new spellbook comes out that uses fires like barrage uses waters.
  10. I challenge you to find me a viable, effective p2p pure that doesn't have at the very least 44 or 52 prayer. Go on, do it. I hate this "but the pures don't have prayer" argument, it's [developmentally delayed]ed and false.
  11. You will beat the pure, but you won't kill him. Prayer vs prayer does nothing but drag the fight out forever, ultimately wasting both of the fighter's supplies until one gets low enough they just run 6 steps to safety. That's the real reason PKers hate prayer. It isn't an advantage for EITHER party, since the entire reason both of you are out there, to kill for loot, is just about raped by prayer. Instead of the best player getting a ko and some [cabbage], the best player slowly wears the other guy out then watches his target run to safety. That's what I don't get about non-pkers that think they're being smart by using prayer when pking. They aren't being smart; they're shooting themselves in the foot and wasting their money while doing it. Sure, you may never die, but neither will the other guy. And seriously, everybody uses stat bonus prayers. They aren't talking about piety or ultimate strength when they complain about prayer, so don't even go there.
  12. If you want to post whatever you want without getting responses, open a blog. Don't post on public boards then expect that every person here is going to mindlessly agree with you. Sure, a lot of tipiters may simply post different variations on the generic "oh I agree, you can do whatever you want, u just ran into an idiot" line, but not everybody. And maybe you weren't trying to sound like a writer. But whatever you were trying to sound like, you missed the mark. That was some seriously lame and misplaced irony. You go there randomly for what reason? Like you said in your original post, nobody likes to lose. You go there for some fun, random competition. And competition is what? Trying to prove you're better than the other person. That's the root. That's the reason why nobody likes to lose. When you enter a situation like that, knowing full well that potting is rare and odds are your opponent isn't going to be using them, you're just looking for an unfair advantage over your opponent because somehow you can't face the fact that you're going to lose duels. I don't see how you can describe that in any way other than lame. Oh, and if anybody's insecurities are showing, it's the person that has such a thin layer of skin that they can't handle mild flames that they knew they were going to get the second they tried to beat someone else by unfair advantages. It's like this game my half brother plays. When two people duel in that game, it's expected that you're going to be fighting based on skill, using buffs your character can grant itself. But it's easy to tell who the skilless scrubs are. They're the people that level 5 other characters and get 4 or so other friends online to buff them. Instead of being a fight where the best man wins, it becomes nothing more than a battle of the buffs, who has the most friends and alts buffing them. And that's EXACTLY what you're doing here. Instead of a fight where the person with the most skill and the best build wins, it's just who happened to have a superset in their inventory at the time. Like I said, I just can't see any way you can describe that other than lame.
  13. First, your attempt to create irony just looks [developmentally delayed]ed. Nobody is claiming you're killing puppies, ok? If you're trying to sound like a writer, you failed. Second, please tell me you're aren't so dense that you honestly believe that when calls you a "pot nub", they're telling you to tank Sara GWD without prayer. [developmentally delayed]. Nobody gives a flying [cabbage] about how you use prayer pots at black demons. What people don't like about potting is how you are so desperate for "success" in the duel arena that you're pulling pots, while at the same time doing nothing but proving that you don't have the skill or levels required to take down your opponent, so you have to play cheap, doing something you're pretty sure your opponent won't be doing, just for a chance to win. I mean, seriously. Sure it's not against the rules. That doesn't mean it's not cheap, and that doesn't mean it makes you look skilled. You look like a [bleep]ing gimp when you have to play underhanded just so you stand a chance. And when the only reason to visit the duel arena anymore is to fool around and see if you're the best, you're just proving to everybody else that you suck.
  14. They have to endure it because they chose it. They picked those skills for no other reason than "omg I want a skill cape!" - and when conformity becomes too widespread people start thinking negatively about it. No, I don't think much of people that wear untrimmed firemaking or whatever capes. I see a kid that was desperate for an "achievement", so they wasted hours of their lives doing something completely worthless, costly, and boring just to so people look up to them in a game. Hell yeah, I think it's pathetic. Then when they find out that their cape actually does the opposite, guess what? That's right, it's all over tipit. They start crying because their self esteem shot failed and people actually look down on them for their efforts, not the other way around.
  15. Well, yeah. It's a plain ol' kill on some 3-itemer in level 47 wildy. Of course it's old :P but it's not like kebabs are entirely more awesome now than they were back then. Oh I know they're not, I was just prempting all the "omg what a nub he pked with a dfs using kebabs".
  16. Huta replied to Omali's topic in Rants
RS combat doesn't even require skill, and that's from a former pker. It needs a complete rehaul imo.
  17. That's an old screenshot. It's obviously on f2p, and it happened ages ago when the regular dfire shields were called dragonfire instead of "anti-dragonfire". That's not a dfs.
  18. This pvp update looks sweet. Although, since I've been playing other games lately with true penalty less open pvp, I think a couple worlds that are safe pvp everywhere would be a nice addition as well. Full pvp worlds have potential, but they're lacking something that a couple safe worlds would allow; the ability to carry on your RS life as normal plus the ability to defend your training spot or whatever. As it is now, people are just going to take the usual rune with whips and protect items and it'll be nothing more than one extended wilderness. Which is fine, but safe worlds (with scorecards or whatever to mark kills) would be even better. The ability to train slayer effectively with all your normal equipment, but with the added threat of being attacked and the ability to defend your abby demons would actually be an improvement imo. Think pvp servers in WoW.
  19. I feel that I've been using the internet long enough to recognize "u" as you, and so on-it does not impair any aspect of reading for me. If you don't read accept simply grammar slang as simple as the ones in this thread, I think you should learn to adapt and accept the grammar-apathetic era that we are in, here in a place called the Internet'z. Actually, most maturer sites have rules against chat speak. I have no issues with people who make honest mistakes now and then, but if you don't put in effort I have no sympathy. Don't tell me about speed either, I hunt and peck and I manage. Aren't you the guy that said you see no reason to waste time "irl" with your friends doing nothing important when you could be spending that precious time playing a video game? Seriously, I've never used chatspeak or whatever, but it's so [bleep]ing funny how people that must otherwise fail at life find some kind of feeling of superiority by ignoring the entire point of someone's thread just because they didn't use proper grammar. Sure, it's bad practice. Guess what? Being a total [puncture] about grammar ain't exactly good practice either. Just lay off the policing for God's sake. It make you look dumber than the guy with the bad grammar. Shock shock, I know, but it's true.
  20. Huta replied to Bananamatic's topic in Rants
Kidding right? I own 3 hilts, never use any of them except for AGS and I find myself using a dfs/whip or verac more. Godswords are just too damn inaccurate for their speed. Seriously, though, it's easy to make an ags cry, just use vengeance.
  21. Although I never ranged much compared to my other combat skills, I hated safespotting. I always use valuable arrows/knives. Got most of early ranged levels tanking hobgoblins and ghouls for champion scrolls.
  22. Stupidest.Reply.Ever. Cue eff tea. The scimitar is roughly 17% faster than the longsword. The longsword's stats are nowhere near 17% better than the scimitar. So it fails.
  23. They're already going in the direction of damage reducing armor with the new shields, I don't see it as being out of the question.
  24. I didn't like it. The subject covered and the style it was presented in didn't hold attention. While I'm no literary critic, something about the article just didn't convey well. Seriously, I just didn't like it. No [cabbage] about bandwagons either. And you know what's funny? Watching various TET members jump on people because they dared to go against the PC flow on these boards and say that the article sucked. If you don't want negative responses, don't release something in public. If you don't want to be judged on your singing ability, don't join American Idol. If you don't want people to discuss your writing, don't post it on international web boards. Amazingly simple. Interesting to see how this forum's view of "open discussion" is limited between between "stay positive" and "don't dare say your true opinion". : The only people I see on bandwagons here are several various unnamed people from the Tip.It staff and TET that refuse to accept the fact that people actually have individual tastes and opinions that don't always reflect their own.
  25. The problem with this is u don't really know anyone you do see in real life. there hidden behind there logos, there social class, just there desire to be cool and respected on the internet these thing are irrelevant you don't base your opinions on there cloths or popularity you base it on their actions, their habits, their soul if you will and you don't need to meet someone to be a friend every time a friend of mine quits a part of me goes with them but the memories always remain Seriously, if you think you get to know people better over the internet than in real life, you're one of those kids destined to become an internet predator statistic. Sure, people hide behind masks in public. But if class is a mask, the internet is a full [bleep] body suit. and yet there are several dozen internet social sites. obviously a few million ppl agree with my opinion A few million people still think that the moon landing was an elaborate government hoax involving laundered money and extraterrestrial spies. Don't believe me? Google it. As for the social sites, you're either talking about hi5 or myspace or whatever, or maybe those dating sites like eHarmony - and believe it or not, online dating is for losers that can't get dates in the real world and those networking sites usually involve people you met personally first. Global chatrooms don't do anything but allow people that have trouble socially to carry on some resemblance of a social life, unless you really believe that guy that's on irc 14 hours a day is actually a black belt in taekwondo that served as class president in high school, dates Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, and drives an Escalade to his 500k a year job. The internet doesn't show you [cabbage] about what a person is in reality.
