  1. About pures. This was an attack on the game, not some specific attempt to stomp out pures.
  2. Lucky me, nobody on my friends list chose to prove their "superior intelligence" by skilling nonstop. Call me funny, but if something's designed for idiots, it's the skilling system that bots could manipulate in the first place. I've seen thousands of woodcutting macros. When was the last time you saw a pking macro? Case closed, idiot.
  3. -.- Clan wars and Bounty Hunter are F2P. As is duel arena now. #-o Scratch that, then. Coulda sworn the mainpage said BH was members only.
  4. Check out something before posting about it; You can still make $ with pking. Really? I never noticed. Guess I couldn't see past the 15 or so one item dds'ers. I don't know about p2p because I am f2p, and in f2p there is alot people that wear full rune. Um, you might need to log in. F2p can't pk anymore, at all. No pvp in the wildy. Bounty Hunter is what members have been given as a replacement, and f2p doesn't have access to that.
  5. Check out something before posting about it; You can still make $ with pking. Really? I never noticed. Guess I couldn't see past the 15 or so one item dds'ers.
  6. Isn't summoning supposed to be based off of hunting? Yeech. I'm putting my money on it being yet another flop, like farming. This entire damage-control stuff they're feeding us is really, really starting to wear on me. Sorry, but it is.
  7. Sharks are still used for high end monster killing. If Jagex fixes group drops sharks use should be high enough. Still, as of now, sharks don't have much purpose, and even if they do fix monster hunting, that'll be more of a demand for monks and brews. Sharks had already been used only marginally when mh'ing. Price on them is going to floor.
  8. Don't really expect shark prices to go up. Or anything combat related. Sharks were primarily sold to pkers, so while we may have less incoming supply without the bots, we'll also have less demand without that sector. Same holds true for a lot of things, actually, like rune gear. With gravestones and no risky pvp outside of one-iteming in the bounty hunter crater, demand for disposable armor is going to floor out. Trust me on that.
  9. Besides the entire RWT crap Jagex keeps feeding us, these gravestones are nothing more than a generic hand-holding effort. If you die to a monster, your items shouldn't be preserved past the original 2 minutes or whatever that they used to.
  10. If you can find it. Last time I got killed by an NPC was 3 months before these updates.
  11. Let them graves rot. Call it a silent protest. Besides, if you get mob-owned, you deserve it.
  12. Don't flatter yourselves.
  13. This is going to affect everything that you do. There is no freedom whatsoever in this game. None. With a 3k limit on trading, everything you do that involves sharing or selling an item to another player will be restricted by nickel-and-dime controls based off of the GE's prices. This game has degraded into a dictatorial shadow of its past. ' Well you're completely wrong. If you can't sell the amulet for the right price, you don't sell it. Yeah it sucks as a restriction but saying there isn't any freedom is completely incorrect. You have a small range to operate in, and most importantly you have the freedom of refusing to sell. This refusing power is huge, and the GE's price will respond to that. A "small range" doesn't constitute freedom. If that's freedom, then the Nazis were giving the German people freedom when they told them they can listen to the radio, as long as you listen only to Nazi stations with specially designed, government issued radios. No, I'm not comparing Jagex to Hitler. I'm simply showing that this isn't freedom. Freedom doesn't merely mean "you have a choice", it means you have control over your own decisions as long as they don't restrict another's freedom. RuneScape is no longer free. Because the crimes of a minority, we no longer have a free market or open pvp outside a select few minigames. Our ability to use the items we've earned is crippled. We no longer can lend our hard-earned items to a close friend, for fear that some macro bot might use the same trade system to hand over autoed goods. We can't stake any more, just because some RWTs used it to transfer funds. We are no longer allowed to sell items for our own prices, just to restrict a select few. That's not freedom.
  14. Honestly, I don't buy a thing Jagex says anymore. It's just another money-grubbing attempt to keep legitimate players from quitting, like revealing summoning was, and those pictures they posted in the Development Diary. Nothing but trying to ease the pocketbook drain this crusade has cost them. Jagex could teach Bush some lessons, couldn't they?
  15. I haven't logged in since the duel arena update, so I don't know really. I'll probably log in tomorrow morning to say goodbye to my friends. Wow. I would have never imagined RuneScape being torn apart like this by its own makers. :?
  16. This didn't just affect pkers. Let me quote myself; This is going to affect everything that you do. There is no freedom whatsoever in this game. None. With a 3k limit on trading, everything you do that involves sharing or selling an item to another player will be restricted by nickel-and-dime controls based off of the GE's prices. This game has degraded into a dictatorial shadow of its past. It's funny, but Jagex's own news article on this update mentions that "We have left you with the ability to give away small items worth under 3k every 15 minutes. We don't want to discourage you from sharing items with friends, so feel free to give an antipoison to someone in need!" - or something to those lines. What cracks me up? I can't even give away a superanti.
  17. Duel arena. Rewards cheapen the aspect of PvP. I don't want pking to become like Barbarian Assault, where no one returns after they get a torso. Pking now is something nobody goes to in the first place. Bounty hunter has already degraded to nothing more than groups of friends pking anybody that steps foot into the arena - no more single zone, no more spacey wildy, no more mage bank. Nothing but a vast waste of mapspace filled with monsters that take months to kill and drop crap. The "clan arena" or whatever is a travesty of a clan war. Wars now have no more meaning than a simple game of CW - except you don't even get tickets. -.- Then comes the trade update. It's impossible to share anything, even a superset, anymore. This may not seem so great, but just think of the hassles this will cause to simple, everyday functions; "Trade says my diamond is worth 3,723gp and my gold bar is worth 201 gp, I can't trade that for your power ammy because people sell those on the GE for 7,254 gp, and that's 531 gp over the limit." Yeah. I've already quit. Back when the duel arena got wtfpwned by the crusaders in Jagex Towers, I had a feeling this was coming, and did what I could to show my nonsupport. And no, I didn't even stake. There's absolutely no way I'm ever coming back. Not for my 500m bank, my skillcapes, my rares, nothing. Besides, the other games out there have so much more to offer, anyway. RuneScape had little to offer in the first place. Now, it has nothing.
  18. yes but at what price? Is not part of this obvious? At the expense stakers. At least that is the most obvious one at this current time, however after the astonishing, and almost literally, eradication of staking. Dont be all too surprised too see perhaps more things go soon, for example perhaps pking in some way shape or form as you can look at all the other speculation threads about the gravestones and what they may mean for this game. The pure ess update, the cap on dueling update... There's a lot Jagex is willing to do... However, people will get used to these changes over time. I remember the first time pure ess came in. That was just about as crazy flame-wise as the GE and dueling cap updates are right now. Don't worry so much about it. You'll get used to it when you allow yourself to see the positives. Yup, that shows what Jagex is willing to do...pure essence accomplished what exactly? Go check out the essence mines in p2p sometime. It raised the profits of essence autoers, nothing more, and at the cost of every runecrafter in the game.
  19. Yeah, logic ftl. We need more "What was your first quest?" threads...
  20. do you really believe this?... and ontopic=I don't think its worth it... prices are dropping like crazy :S I think he was being sarcastic. Qeltar, sarcasm is sometimes okay to display a point, but make it more obvious on your intentions. I don't know about anyone else, but that seemed fairly obvious that it was sarcasm to me. Anyways, I don't see any real way how Jagex can stop RWT for good..Although they're destroying stuff we like, it shows that they're still trying (kind of). Actually, it was obvious to me about 10 words in. I guess sarcasm and runescape just don't mix. :-k change RS to internet or typed words... i hate when i can convey a point with just words how i could over the phone. Mmm...I don't know, I don't usually have much trouble with writing. Do know what you mean, though.
  21. I diasgree. Gold trading (at least in worthwhile amounts) can easily be stopped. We already have the Duel Arena blocked and the GE for trade. All Jagex has to do now are the following : 1) Dropped coins are immeduately destroyed 2) If you are carring coins when you die those coins are destroyed 3) No direct transfer of cash between players via the Trade Screen. You would still be able to trade between players, but only on a "barter" basis. ie. no cash involved This I think covers all the possible ways to transfer large amounts of cash. No cash...lol. Guess what? Instead of giving their buyers gold coins, the autoers sell their goods on the GE, and buy something else with that cash, such as whips. Instead of buying 15m cash, you get a few whips. Don't see how that fixed a thing. And as for the guy above me... I rest my case from my last post.
  22. Mmkay...I take that back. I'm a natural skeptic. :) Nice find, btw.
