1. Hit 119 this morning and finally got the title :D Been doing ~2.5m xp days but going to have some stuff come up the rest of the week, so might not get as much.
2. The Kalphite King Coinshare - Saturday, April 26th Time and Date Date: Saturday, April 26th Time: GMT: 6PMUS Eastern: 2PMUS Central: 1PMUS Mountain: 12PMUS Pacific: 11AMAustralia/ACT: 4AM (on the 27th)World: The world will be specified right before we start Host: Levells Friends chat: Levells Co-hosts: TBD [pending]gre_1398535200[/pending] Server and Location We will meet outside the entrance to the Kalphite King. We recommend clearing the blocked passage prior to the event, so that unnecessary health is not lost. Depending on attendance, we may need to split into multiple parties, so be sure to listen to the hosts. Their instructions are important and should not be ignored. GETTING THERE There are three main routes to the exiled kalphite hive, noted below and colour coded on the map: Bandit camp lodestone (green) - completion of the Desert treasure quest required. Camulet teleport (purple) - completion of the Enakhra's lament quest required. Jaldraocht teleport (blue) - requires a charged Pharoah's sceptre or Sceptre of the Gods. Once inside the exiled kalphite hive proceed south along the tunnel and then north to reach the entrance to the kalphite king lair. The obstruction to the west of the entrance can be cleared to create a shortcut. This requires 23 agility to pass. SETTING UP If this is your first time or you fear death, it's recommended to use a Unicorn/Bunyip instead of a Beast of Burden. If you choose to use a BoB, the Pack Pig (with 84 Summoning/Construction/Crafting) is non-aggressive. Using a Spirit Terrorbird or a War Tortoise may cause the Kalphite King to target you for normal attacks or even it's One Hit KO special. A range swap is advised for the Mage phase, as players will benefit from the accuracy and the ability to run away easier. If not ranging, an offhand is advised for anyone using a shield. Freedom, Anticipation, and Escape are advised to be on action bars or within easy reach for all. Due to the nature of the Kalphite King's attacks, stunning ablilities should NOT be used. These are: Melee: Kick, Backhand, Barge, Destroy Ranged: Binding Shot Magic: Impact, Asphyxiate Defence: Bash
Melee - As shown by ORANGE wings. There are 3 attacks, as follows. 1: Standard attack,This attack has a bleeding attack similar to Slaughter, dealing 3x damage when moving. This is possibly one of the most dangerous attacks as even with Protection prayers, players will find themselves being hit for 2000+ damage. 2: The King charges for a few seconds and then rushes forward, pushing everyone in the way into the wall. This attack, though melee, occurs in the melee and ranging phases. You can avoid this by simply running out of his path. 3: The king stomps and produces a shock wave. Players within the melee range will be hit and pushed back. In addition, their defence level will be reduced by a small amount RANGE - As shown by GREEN wings. There are once again, 3 attacks, as follows. 1: The king will fire an attack that looks like KQ's ranged attack. This attack will cause a damage over time effect similar to the Fragmentation Shot ability, including taking 3x damage when moving. This attack is usually used together with the Stun Darts. 2: The king will fire stun darts at a group of players, which will have a chance to stun them. These stuns can last up to 20 seconds, and can prove fatal if the king switches phases. 3: The king fires an incendiary shot to everyone in range, which will explode after a few seconds that will hit for a massive damage of around 1000-3000 lp. This attack also drains your prayer. It can be blocked with barricade MAGE - As shown by BLUE wings. There are only 2 atacks in this phase. 1: Blue Orbs, The king will shoot numerous blue energy circles to everyone in range for up to 3000 damage and possibly a stun. However, the circles will target on the ground instead of the player, so players can avoid damage by moving away before the circle lands. 2: Green Orbs, The king will launch some greenish-yellow circles at the players' squares that slowly levitate and explode. The circles will hit multiple players in range which can also stun them. This attack could be very fatal if the player is hit by multiple circles. If stunned, use freedom and run to evade these. ONE HIT K.O- Here he aims for a player, and spits a ball of green gloop at them. This freezes them, and resets cooldown timer for freedom. If not prevented via a team mate, the king will one hit you. The way to save yourself from death, is have a teammte use the Provoke ability, followed by Resonance / Immortality / Barricade. Digging - At random points, he will dig hiself into the ground, briefly disappearing from the battle. At this time, he is burrowing under the person who was tanking. Keep moving (preferably to an area clear of marauders), else if he re-surfaces, and you are on top of him, you can be hit for 1500 lp upwards. Marauders - He also spawns Exiled Maruaders. This is unavoidable, who will hit you with magic attacks. When they spawn underneath you, you will be hit for roughly 500 lp per one that spawned underneath you. Red Aura - The king will sometimes be engulfed inside a red aura, when this happens, any damage he deals will heal him. If he kills someone during this, it will heal him by 24000 lp. Just keep the pressure up, and stay alive. GREEN AURA - The king will also sometimes engulf hiself in a green aura, during this time, any incoming damage will heal him, much like the Siphon stage of Nex's Blood phase. Simply stop attacking til the aura has gone. Auras last between 5-10 seconds, but he may sometimes spam these auras. Keep your eyes out for them Each phase is fairly easy, but is difficult to the unaware player. Be sure to watch the kings wings for your prayers, keep your health reletivly high, and keep up the damage. He may be the only boss to use ultimate attacks on you, but these can be avoided. Any damage over time abilities, you can stop by using the ability, Freedom. This video is helpful for demonstrating the abilities of the King. Requirements There are no requirements, but we highly recommend having good equipment and armor. Level 70 equipment is likely the minimum, for Barrows, but lower levels may have some success. As always, we expect everyone to pull their weight. There is a high chance of death, so attend at your own risk. A max of 4-5 degradeable items (worn at a time) is recommended due to the possibility of frequent death. Friends Chat Ranks The Main host will be the Chat owner, or will have a Gold Star in the chat.Silver stars are CO HOSTS.Bronze Stars are other TMHT members. Please note all three of these ranks will have the ability to kick members from chats, should we need to.Players who wish to join the hunt can post on this thread, PM the host ingame, or join the chat before the event :) everyone will be added for coinshare so don't worry! If you need assistance, feel free to Private message a Host/Co-host, or ask in the chat. 3. Out of curiosity, how would that work? It sounds like it can only single cast wave spells, no autoattacks. Which leads me to wonder if it would even count for abilities at all.
4. You mention your gear only a little bit, so I'll just tell you how I do it and you can make adjustments from there. I prefer maining melee with a range swap just for shadow phase. I find shadow to be the worst for a meleer and I don't mage due to lack of decent weapon and remaining on lunars to use Heal Other. My partner mains range with a melee swap (he goes full out so he's using sirenic/asc and malev/dry). We get 10 kills/hour, going with an instance. Gear: I normally use either Vampyrism or Penance aura, my invy changes slightly accordingly (more restores and less food w/ Vamp) Invy: This is my invy setup while using Penance. If I'm using Vamp, I add 3 restore flasks in place of 3 rocktails in my yak, towards the bottom but spaced out a little so I can still get food/brews if I only have a few spaces available to withdraw to. If you're not using Heal/Lunar, you can throw more food/prayer in those spots. Yak: Again, Penance setup. Swap as above for Vamp. Quick prayers: Turmoil, Prot Item, Prot Magic Smoke: Start in the middle and use Sever to get her attention, then run back to the walkway and loop around so she'll follow, using Anticipation, Resonance, and Preparation while running and turn on your prayer after. Then run into melee distance of her, flick on melee prayer and grab your offhand. Smack once or twice, you can use Dismember if you want, and then I use Slaughter before she moves, using Soul Split to take advantage of the free health. You should move a space or 2 back so she's guaranteed to pop back up where she was. When she calls the minion, toss on your shield (leaving melee prayer on) and walk away and use Res to heal, then switch prayer back to magic. If you still seem to be getting hit a lot, you can use Devotion. Shadow: This one comes down to if she's using Prot Range, but that'll come in a moment. Throw your offhand back on and if she hasn't been tagged yet, tag her and run a few spaces back. If things go in your favor, she won't make the room dark yet. Flick on Soul Split and use Assault and cancel it with Sever and move quickly away. If she isn't praying range, throw on your cbows, switch to Anguish and have at her. If she is, then you have to do the back and forth melee hits. Her melee hurts much more than her ranged. When she calls, run through the center and drag her around the pillar. You can switch back to your shield and use Res/drop pray a nice heal. Blood: If you do trios, this should be easier for you. As a duo, dps is a bit more critical. Throw on your offhand and voke to make sure she's on you, then start with Assault. You'll have to learn your timing here but you need to use your best abilities here, so there's still Destroy, Kick, and Sever to mix up. Be sure to use Escape if she targets you for the sacrifice. When she calls, again, shield, drop pray, use Res. Ice: Use Anticipation for the first prison so you can Freedom the second. How I start this phase depends on how my health is. My general rule is: ~4k+, use Barricade. Under that, I use Immortality. Whenever I use Barricade, I heal my dps. Soul Split is good to use as well. This phase is extremely difficult to pull off without problems and comes down to luck most of the time. When she says Contain, use Escape to get away, then Voke/Res/Prep. You also need to be careful she isn't targeting the dps when you escape, which is why voke is also good. Pretty much spam abilities to try and get adrenaline up to full. If not, it comes down to 2 things: adrenaline pot or relying on dps to free you. When she calls, I run through the center, making sure she's on me or voking. Try to stand in the middle so she'll use Contain in there (away from your dps) and then run to the last minion. You should only have to deal with 2 prisons as a trio, I would think. As a duo, I sometimes get hit with a 3rd prison as the minion is dying, so I eat up and hope my friend can break it. Note: I had an easier time with this phase before the Revolution/queuing/targeting update. That update ruined a lot of "back and forth" motions for me, both here and at QBD. Here is more deadly though. Now I just get spammed with "You don't have a target." and come close to dying. Also, I can get screwed up badly on this phase and yes I do die a bit. Slowly getting into a rhythm with how to do it properly now though, so deaths are less frequent. Zaros: This phase I'm finding to be quite easy now. Keep your shield on and whenever you use Res, swap to Soul Split until you get the heal or it expires. Her magic can easily hit well over 4200 (I got healed to full, so perhaps higher). I normally switch back to my offhand when my health is above 5k or so. Don't forget you can use Debilitate still if you need it. If she prays melee, I put my shield back on and use shield abilities, voke, etc to keep building adrenaline. Again, I use Heal Other if I use Barricade. If you end a kill at low health, like ~1500 but have full adrenaline and already used Rejuvinate, use Immortality and don't move when she dies. Immort brings you back to life and the 40% health can be much more than the 25% you'd get from using Regenerate otherwise. Occasionally I have a nice Zaros and have my offhand the whole time. I made my dps go "wtf did you do?!" because his xp drop was much lower than it normally is :p I've done a fair bit of nexing, mostly as a tank, so what I find to work for me may not always work for others. Let me know if I skipped something or you have any other questions. Gl.
5. I'm just going to reply to this as a placeholder, as I'm on my phone right now. I melee Tank as a Duo with a friend. We get hour trips so we must be doing something right :p
6. Suppose it depends on your gear/setup/comfort. Also, every kill can be very different. Some I rarely have less than full health, others I constantly stay around 2k lol. Admittedly I haven't been to qbd in a few days but range was fine last time there for me.
7. Just stock up slowly. 6k/day (3k from Tavern slayer Master, 3k from any other) Also, if you're trying to rush points, can always just do Mazchna tasks and then do the 5x one at your highest. His tasks aren't bad besides dogs.
8. Tormented Demons *Coinshare* Time and Date Date: Saturday, April 5th Time: 8PM GMT Other timezones: BST (British Summer Time): 9 pmCEST (Central European Summer Time): 10 pmAEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time): 6 amPST (US & Canada Pacific Standard Time):1 pmMST (US & Canada Mountain Standard Time): 2 pmCST (US & Canada Central Standard Time): 3 pmEST (US & Canada Eastern Standard Time): 4 pmServer and Location The server will be announced when the event starts. We will meet in the Lumbridge courtyard. Friends' Chat iStev The Boss We will be tormented demons. Although not as individually difficult as some bosses, these are very strong monsters, especially when more than one are attacking at the same time. We highly recommend reading the official Tip.it guide and familiarizing yourself with the boss mechanics. Equipment and Inventory Equipment: Because the demons switch protection prayers are being enough damage, it is very important to bring more than one combat style. In this setup, I use Akrisae's robes, an amulet of fury, and an emissary helm in order to maintain high accuracy with decent defense. Warpriest armor or Dragon Rider can be worn if desired. More confident players may wish to use Void armor or use armor swaps. Your inventory will depend on your gear and levels. We recommend 2-3 overloads and 1 prayer renewal per overload. Bringing extra prayer potions is be a good idea, especially if you use stat boosting prayers (and you should). We suggest that everyone bring a darklight or holy water, as having a single darklighter is risky, as the whole team will be useless if he/she either cannot hit the demon or dies. Fill the remainder of your inventory with good food (sharks/rocktails). Remember to bring runes and your sapphire lantern (having more than one lantern is advised).
Requirements: You must have completed While Guthix Sleeps to kill tormented demons. You need a sapphire lantern to access the lair. We highly recommend bringing darklight or holy water. Happy Hunting!
9. Week 1: Tormented Demons Come along as we do battle to some of the mightiest demons in Runescape! Possible loot includes dragon claws and pieces of the valuable dragon crossbow. Week 2: Corporeal Beast Once upon a time the strongest and toughest of all Runescape's bosses, the Corporeal Beast now ranks more in the middle of the pack at best. Still, facing this giant foe is not for the faint of heart (or low of level), so dust off your Zammy spear, give yourself a quick pep talk to bolster your courage, and join us in sending this monstrosity back to the shadow realm from whence it came (but hopefully not before dropping us a sigil or two!). Week 3: Dagannoth Kings This trio of kings proves to be a challenge even throughout the years. Come join us as we hope to snag some dragon hatchets and some jewlery. Week 4: Kalphite King While no longer the toughest group boss, it's the most accessible and incredibly fun. Our last trips haven't been the kind of 'dry' run we've hoped, so we hope to tear off multiple body parts this round. Happy hunting! ***** Please remember that all TMHT events are Coinshare/"Shardshare" *****
10. Did a bunch of dungeons with some clanmates yesterday, got 116. Today, finished all court cases and got a Banshee Champ scroll :)
11. Skilling competitions, company while skilling, and people to go bossing with? Might be able to interest you in Bear Necessities, then :) You should read through our forum and see if we're what you're interested in. If so, feel free to add me or guest in the cc for an invite/questions. Hope to see you :) Runescape forum, Clan Info, Offsite
12. Read Item Discussion... Not what happened and hopefully everything will be fine with them now.
13. Did a hard mode arma trip yesterday, got warpriest boots and gloves during kc :) - made about 500k each as a 5 man team in under half an hour 115 DG tonight
14. If you die with it and you do not protect it as one of the three (or more if you got prayer etc. active), it will get lost and not be able to be picked up at grave nor at Diango. I'd like to mention that either this is not true at all or only holds true for certain items. I KK with my lucky arma helm. Have since I got it almost 2 years ago or something. I've never saved it on death, and trust me, there have been many, lol.
15. Pickaxe done :D Only took two short trips while I was mostly afk anyway. About an hour, I'd say.
16. Can anyone tell me where or just what level wildy it is after I welfared a little too much and now have no idea where to go. The artefact doesn't work...I saw what looked like a spirit realm portal nearby, but it's not the forgotten cemetary.
17. I'd say air surge for the single inventory space or blood spells if you want.
18. Sold off my divination energies, because Inventor isn't coming until probably Christmas or next year and idc anymore. Bought a mainhand Ascension with the money. Might do some Arma with it.
19. Yesterday: got 2 Arma cbows and an effigy while duoing with a friend. Today: dry KK trio, with money not worth mentioning. Did get the Basilisk mask on the wheel though :D so I'll start doing them to try for the head. Yet another text-only update, but I was so excited to get the mask, I forgot to screenie... Did the 500 kills to turn the mask into the helm, got an effigy along the way. Was kind of disappointed that it wasn't the head >_>
20. Got tired of seeing 1m to level...did nothing productive all day besides clan pengs. Just under 6m to next level >_> Did score a p2h finally, so at least there's something to cross off my list. Now it can look pretty in my bind slot :p (I range/mage)
