  1. Jagex plans on a bonus xp weekend every 6 months, so make some major money now and start stocking up on materials for the next weekend.
  2. You can't claim members items as a free player, and anything worth more than a certain threshold (aside from the 10m gold) isn't tradeable anyway. It goes to show, as with many other updates, that a large portion of the RuneScape community has absolutely no idea what constitutes real money trading.
  3. It's a bad thing for players to take pride in a totally free game, he says. It's not a good business strategy, he says. I don't think that argument gets you very far nowadays. So you'd be fine with Jagex selling weapons/armor in a cash shop? Because that is Valve's business model with Team Fortress 2. Team Fortress 2 is a first person shooter that was long past its prime selling point, that went free to play with the offer of buying the same weapons you could wait to drop or craft (which takes an extremely long amount of time) for $5-10 a pop. You can't compare the profits of Valve that came from people who otherwise wouldn't pay the box price who came in and are now purchasing items, to the crying of little children who are devoted to the idea of never paying a single cent, who bundle up in their little elitist groups and take personal offense to the idea of a ticker of experience going anywhere above 0. One group stands to bring in massive wealth, the other stands to bring in none whatsoever and actually stands to suck wealth from the game by recruiting more people into their group of "hey let's never pay."
  4. I disagree that it is off topic, since Jagex has been accompanying weekly content updates with continued updates to try and resolve FPS issues, which for many of us isn't working.
  5. My understanding is that Jagex said they would hire the first person to break their bot nuke with a reflection or injection bot, and he did it at Runefest. Also, just look at Pwn2Own, an annual contest where big companies (Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc) offer prizes to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars to people who manage to hack their software packages. Google promised 20 grand this year and free laptops.
  6. The labeling of this as the "easy set" makes me think there will be more lodestones in the future.
  7. Jagex this game isn't realistic enough! Now if you don't mind, I have to use holy water to destroy a vampire while eating entire shark to immediately heal magic-induced wounds.
  8. The Magnificent: 50k The Undefeated: 50k The Strange: 50k The Divine: 50k The Fallen: 50k The Warror: 50k
  9. Well now the Amulet of Glory has been made 75% useless. Farming just became a lot cheaper now that teleport runes are no longer required for many patches.
  10. I hope you're not using anti-virus software then, better yet I hope you're not paying for it. Anti-virus companies hire hackers all the time, especially the big ones that crack into corporate systems and government networks and steal your credit card numbers and harvest passwords. And you must really hate the police department, considering they strike deals with criminals on a regular basis to act as spies and informants for pay and reduced sentencing. It's a fact of life.
  11. Pure F2P clans fascinate me, watching a section of the community shout out about how they have absolutely no intention of paying (and are immature to the point where they find a concept as simple as a members trial to be personally insulting and degrading), and then wonder why Jagex doesn't factor them in when it comes to updates.

I assumed it was a foreign keyboard since on English keyboards you don't press ctrl+2 to get the @ symbol/

OP's profile puts him in Canada, so...French keyboard? Send in a bug report to Jagex, there might have been an update that screwed up the particular set up. For now, try to use the on screen keyboard when logging in, or change your password to not include the @ symbol.

Nope I get aboot 10fps on low, stateside. I'm currently playing the TERA closed beta on max settings with high definition textures, so it's clearly my computer and not Jagex's bloated system.
  15. It's the same people you see on the news screaming "well I still see criminals so the police must not be arresting anyone."
  16. One million members, Jagex has managed to find a way to ensure maybe ten of them get to participate in a contest for lifetime membership.
  17. Not liking the update is one thing, but hoping that they lose business because they're trying to appeal to newer players is petty and makes you look like a vindictive child. RuneScape has grown to the point of games like Final Fantasy XI, where the sheer amount of content thrown at a new user is overwhelming to the point where a slow start can cause someone to log off and not return. God forbid Jagex throw an insignificant amount of gold at a player and provide them some starting tools so they aren't completely lost as to what to do.
  18. Still, I should not have to even be in that situation where I don't know if an email is legitimate or not. Prior to this incident I would NEVER get spam. You shouldn't be in a situation anyway where you don't know if an email is legitimate or not.
  19. 28-Feb-2012 17:19:21 Last edited on 28-Feb-2012 17:22:58 by Mod Jon H Hi uno dos tres: "Did anyone else observe that the button to stop the flashing light has a 10 second delay, therefore defeating its purpose... Or is that intentional, meaning you cannot have any effect on the reward you'll receive?" The outcome is totally randomised - the player's action (timing) does not affect the reward that comes out. The animation is not actually connected to the outcome, it's just fun to watch Yelp get punched in the face. -JH Quick find code: 15-16-697-63596239 Oh. It must have just been luck that my two spins were somewhat relative to the outcome (same spot that I hit the button, one to the right). Thank you for clarifying.
  20. Nope the specific method they did for it was very useful for lots of stuff I will be very sad to see it go Where was it implied that it was due to Squeal of Fortune?
  21. 11fps on minimum at the unpopulated Draynor village, which is funny coming off of playing the TERA closed beta weekend with the high definition graphics and everything maxed out. Good work Jagex.
  22. There does seem to be a strategy behind where you hit stop and where it actually stops.
  23. Doesn't anyone else see how ingenious this is? Jagex makes it so all you have to do is log in to spin once (or twice) per day to win fabulous prizes. It can't be overpowered if the client crashes on login. Jagex: 1 Haters: 0
