Actually, when the censor unblocked words like "damn" and such, I saw no one using those swear words. That was even on world 1. :roll: How do you use damn as an insult? When they uncensored suck, [wagon], etc, I saw people using it all the time. I reported a lot of people for just running up to me and saying stuff like "Suck my [wagon]" randomly because they thought they couldn't get blackmarks for it.

OCD gets used very lightly when it comes to people who just like to be organized. As someone with diagnosable OCD, rather than self-diagnosed, or in a humorous fashion, I can say keeping your inventory balanced is just another day in life for me. For example, I regularly wake up several times in the middle of the night to make sure my alarm is set. I'm talking about waking up at 6:55 to make sure your alarm goes off at 7. Or going through your dumpster to find your garbage bag, to sort through that because you threw out your good eraser, and now your desk is unbalanced. Not being able to sleep until you realize that your fan was set on low, not medium, and although consciously you weren't aware, you knew something was wrong. I checked my alarm clock three times, double checked my To-Do list twice, checked my garbage, and moved my hat that's been bugging me ALL NIGHT, while I wrote this post. It's not all fun and organizing either. My blood pressure has been at a steady 140/70 (Normal is 120/80) with random spikes, as well as random eye-twitching, both symptoms attributed to undue stress, which also puts me at a high risk for a heart attack, as I'm constantly between stage 1 and stage 2 hypertension. It doesn't help the fact that I already have an irregular heart beat. If you want OCD, come check out my bathroom at 2am on a Friday morning. I'll probably be in there cleaning it.

That's in incredibly narrow minded way of looking at updates. Because we all know the vocal complainers have the best intentions for the game in mind when they suggest banning beggers, people who run in combat, bringing back the wilderness, and suggesting they'd rather have "1 month of the old runescape before it shuts down rather than an eternity of this"

I am pretty sure I have read somewhere that Jagex didn't want servers in China because of political reasons etc. I am probably thinking too much of this but could this little trip of the top 2 Jagex people mean they are looking into business in China? If this happened it would bring alot of new players in but it could also increase the RWT companies awareness of Runescape. Again, sorry this isn't Twitter, or an update hint, but it is a social networking site and I am really curious about it. China passed a law that bans all foreign owned MMOs. Andrew and Mark may be jetting to China to appeal that.

Stop. The premise behind this thread was invalidated before it even started, that Jagex was not being "unjust" in censoring "homosexual" words because they censored "heterosexual" words as well. That's like saying a restaurant is being racist by not letting you in and you happen to be black, when the restaurant is closed for the night. They're not letting ANYONE in, there's no discrimination. OP doesn't want equality, but rather special treatment. Not saying that makes the OP a bad person, most people are generally looking for what fits them best. But this thread was very narrow minded from the start and no matter how you spin the question to encompass any sexual preference: This is the wrong medium. And yes I do acknowledge the comment about people who become good friends and inevitably divulge that sort of information. But take it to another medium. A fansite, instant messenger, anything. Coming from a person who works a lot with management at retail chains, I can say there are a lot of things a company will allow, but will officially stand against. With Jagex, I'm sure they have no problem with friends talking about really anything, but officially they have to assume strangers talking to strangers with an almost infinite potential age range with every intention under the sun, and as such must officially voice their disapproval of all sex talk.

I think as the idiots on this thread made clear, most online communities are too immature to handle that sort of discussion, and yes if the words were allowed they would be used as derogatory terms. There is no legitimate conversation to be had on Runescape where the terms "gay, lesbian, homo, [bleep], etc" come up. Runescape is not a medium through which to discuss sex or politics. Go somewhere else for that.

Teleport spells exist in RS, therefore distance has no meaning. Zaros has nothing to do with the west, you're forcing the square peg into the triangle hole to try and prove it will fit. As far as I was aware, it started in the West, he got banished from the West to the East/Northern (mostly North). Zaros' rule encompassed the deserts, Morytania, and possibly a little bit west of the Digsite.

Jagex, makers of the browser based MMO Runescape, recently struck a marketing deal with Zapak to bring Runescapes marketing and distribution to India. For those not familiar with Zapak, the website is a portal of web based games. The Indian version of Miniclip if you will. But one bit of advertising caught my eye: On Zapaks front page, the following image can be seen advertising Runescape: How tacky. Im hoping this is Zapaks artwork because, if it is, we can play it up to ignorance. Evony, formerly Civony, was widely panned for its continuing advertising campaign, featuring nothing but women with large breasts, a marketing campaign that spiraled down into just breasts. In fact Evony was voted the most despised game on the internet for just that same reason. Then again, it could be worse. Jagex could be owned by a goldfarming-I said nothing. Maybe Im just a little tender to anything that reminds me of Evony, considering I would estimate 60% of the spam comments I get are advertisements for this scam game. If all you're going to do is whine over what one person said, and ignore the people who explained it to you in plain English then: and stop being so defensive. You're like a 10 year old who thinks everyone who looks at him is secretly making fun of him. I think you'd really have to sit down with the code to figure out exactly how it works. Although Runescript is built off of Java, it doesn't necessarily mean that what you present in Java would work in Runescript.

The problem with Rune is that although it isn't special anymore, the game still treats it as such. To the community, Rune is just another armor you wear at 40 defense. It's a lot more expensive than full Adamant, but there is plenty of it to go around. To the game, however, Rune is still treated as the prized possession. You can count the number of rune rocks on a particular server and if I remember correctly, not get into the double digits. Rune or is still a major pain in the [wagon] to obtain, it is a pain to smelt (8 coal per ore). I think Jagex is trying to keep hold of that long distant shred of glory that Rune once had, where only the rich had it, only a handful could smith it, and only the determined could even equip it. Jagex is just sticking decals on a Model T at this point with the various updates like fixing dragon platebodies.

You aren't forced to pay in order to play the servers. Someone else can easily pay. Yes, but the idea of anyone paying for it and running it I find completely reprehensible. And I personally cannot imagine anyone wanting to pay for their own server to run the game. Like I said, if this is the direction they want to take their Classic project, I'm glad they only seem to have 1 or 2 people actively on it. Depending on the price, I am planning on running my own Runescape Classic server.
