  1. moss giants NEVER drop fire runes Yes they do. :shame: No, they don't. I've done LOTS of training a the mossies in the varrok sewers (more then any other monster), and I (as well as most people) ALWAYS bring a fire staff. The giants do NOT drop fire runes. Oh and before you go pointing out that he was killing mossies in crandor, they are the same level, the same monsters, same drops. Check the bestiary and see for yourself. As for me, the only thing I've ever accidentally alched is a willow shortbow.
  2. I LOVE how self-contradictory that post is. First you claim that this is some kind of bug, not just luck. If it were a bug, I would also have been affected by it. I was not. Therefore, it is NOT a bug, just luck. YOUR luck. Maybe a friend's as well, but that's it. You then tell me that rs doesn't revolve around my account, claiming that just because it doesn't happen to me means it's not true (Which BTW is wrong, were it a bug it would affect EVERYONE doing what you're doing). Meanwhile, you're going around assuming that just because it happened to your account that it IS true. Hypocrite.
  3. This thread is a joke. I was in the SoS yesterday, teled a few times, got NO random. I used to range at the minotaurs (before they nerfed the iron arrow drops they give), and when I teled, no random. They're called RANDOM events for a reason.
  4. Green mask You know you love it =P Oh btw I'm at 70 range atm
  5. First thing that popped into my head when I read this: money money money money....MONEY! *plays rest of song in head* Anyway: 1)This forum has a Help and Advice board for a reason 2)Merchant
  6. IMO these are only actually funny if they're plausible, so I'm guilty of all of these: You know you play too much rs when: The muscle in your finger gets sore (same feeling you get from working out) You say (or think) of some people as noobs, say lol or any other internet abbreviation You know where to find the gallows in rs You know the rough price of every commonly bought/sold item in the game You wake up, realize it's Saturday, and head straight for the computer You break off rl plans to go on pk trips with your clan/friends You find out you have plans that cannot be broken, and instantly think "dammit now it'll be another day before I get(insert skill/money/whatever goal here)" You gasp when you see "you last logged in 2+ days ago from..." when you log in (happened to me a week ago for the first time in maybe 7 months) You know most/all of the xp milestones for skills (like 1mil is lvl 73, 2 is lvl 80, you hit 85 at 3.2mil, 99 at 13mil etc.) You eat while playing rs You can tell someone which turns to take on the roads to get...well...anywhere. That's all I can think of atm, I'll see about adding some more later  (BTW I loved that 2006 list, since I'm guilty of all of them exept #8 :P)
  7. What's the most expensive non-discontinued item in f2p? What's the best melee weapon in f2p?(Arguable but they should say rune scimmy) What's the strongest monster in the game? (Ya it's p2p but you have to live under a rock in rs not to know about Jad) What's the strongest monster in f2p? (Most people avoid going deep enough in the wildy to know of greaters) Where are the rune rocks in f2p? What's the best food in f2p health-wise? Which potions are available to f2p? What's the best spell f2pers can cast in terms of damage? How many f2p teleport spells are there? Approximately how much does full rune cost?
  8. Or you could just stick with mossies... That's where I go for my nats and laws, as the drop rate is pretty good (though I usually end up using my nats to alch the other drops).
  9. Silverlight is better IMO for demon fighting, and I've actually brought both to compare before. Silverlight hits 1-2 more points of max damage on lessers (I usually hit 15s in defensive with a scimmy, I can hit 17s with silverlight) and the speed difference is barely noticable.
  10. As a general rule, try to buy low, not sell high. I can't stress this enough, don't go buying coal 200 each and try to sell 230 each, it'll be MUCH easier buying 150 and selling 200 each.
  11. If you know what you're doing you can get full rune for 175k (Only if you buy it in pieces) Full rune ALWAYS includes a kite, and NEVER includes a weapon, unless otherwise stated by the person selling/buying The usual price is 190k, so you didn't lose very much.
  12. *ignoring the hilarious, but off topic, posts about grammer and spelling* do yourself a favor. look up the OoC, or the Order of the Cabbage. ever wonder why people collect seemingly useless items? theres your answer. Exactly, people like to boast about collections they've started simply for the sake of having a useless collection. By the way that last post almost made me fall out of my chair laughing. Spelling snobs unite!
  13. 1)Yes he is stuck up. Anyone who thinks having played rsc makes them smarter then someone who hasn't is stuck up. 2)I consider myself pretty knoledgeable when it comes to runescape. Having played rsc has NO effect on how much you know about runescape, just on how much you know about rsc. 3)Looking better does not make a game shallow. And even now I doubt many people play runescape for it's graphics. 4)There is no "all rsc players are stuck up" mentality, just an "all rs2 products are ignorant" mentality shared by a minority of RSCers 5)You mention how long he's played as grounds for a prejudice that he's someone worthy of respect, then turn around and chastize us for supposedly having a prejudice that he should not be respected. Stri...I mean caligula, you are being a hypocrite (there seems to be a lot of them floating around over this last week) Really, why should I respect someone solely based on the fact that he found out about a game earlier then I did? Since when does that make it acceptable to waltz in and bash tipit? By what stretch of the imagination does someone bashing tipit deserve any respect from tipiters?
  14. Mymymy, aren't we arrogant? Honestly I'd forgotten about this thread. For future reference, if I don't post anything whil arguing in a thread outside the rants forum, I've forgotten about it, so just pm me and we can continue our disscussion. Anyway, I've said this before (though not in this thread) and I'll say it again: Runescape revolves around 2 main themes:Combat and money. You can trace almost any skill (exept maybe firemaking) to both of these things. Rares get you rich. I bought a green mask a few months ago for 9million, they're now worth 20million. Long term investors can USE rares to earn them million and millions of gp. *gasp* but that means...that they have a use! There ya go. Argument rebutted
  15. I gave this to a friend starting a clan to help fund a clan bank (It's the clan I'm in btw) I did the same thing for my last clan, though the donation took the shape of 6 full rune sets. Oh I found the pic :) Another 300-400k in cash was given to that clan. I've handed out many things I don't need to strangers, rune weapons, mith arrows and stuff I pk usually, since more often then not I have no need for it.(I can't bring myself to train range with anything other then iron or steel, and I'd never pk with anything less then addy arrows, and the only weapon I need for melee is my rune scimmy)
  16. Here we go: Bots: Bots have had a HUGE impact on the runescape economy, sending the supply of most materials through the roof. Bots tend to avoid mining, and usually focus on fishing and woodcutting. Demand: 2 coal per steel bar. 8 coal per runeite bar The vast majority of full rune sets are smithed, and most people level up their smithing with steel bars. Yews have become less popular ever since construction came out. Lobsters have never had much of a demand when compared to other things. How long will 1000 coal last you? That could be used to make 100 steel platebodies, which can be done in 10-15 minutes. Now 1000 lobsters? How fast do you go through those? Using them individually causes them to be used VERY slowly, I know I've used more coal in the last week or so then I have lobbies in my entire rs existence. Supply: Bots aside, the supply ratio of yews/coal/food is very uneven, with food having the greatest supply and coal having the smallest. There is no competition in fishing, little competition in woodcutting, and a lot of competition in mining, and the ratio of the supply (collected or not) is just as different.
  17. Just thought that needed clearing up.
  18. I'm an f2per who's been playing since just before the rubber chicken drop. A little while ago, I bought a green mask. Don't assume that people can't afford rares just because YOU can't. Yes it does get harder, but think of it this way: Owning a rare is like being in the top 1000 players in runescape (the number here is irrelevant, but it needs to be a fixed number, since there is is a fixed maximum number of rares). As time passes, it becomes harder and harder to get into this list, as the people who ARE on it keep improving (raising the price of rares). Yes the demand DOES go up, the price rises to compensate for that. Let's say there are 10000 rares. Eventually, there will be more then 10000 people with the 1mil to buy said rares. People realize this, and up the price to 2mil (or however high these 1000 people can afford to pay) Soon, more then 10k people have 2mil to spend on a rare, the price rises yet again.
  19. Ditto for all that, but you left out the worst one (IMO): People TELLING me what my mask is worth (And they usually say 2-3mil) Also: People who assume that my low combat means I couldn;t possibly be a runeite miner (And they're too lazy to check) People who offer to buy my mask for the runehq price People assuming that I must macro to have a high mining lvl People who assume that I must autotype to type quickly And finally: Members who come to f2p worlds, then get all upset when f2pers inquire about their armor.
  20. Green mask, hands down. Took about a month straight of merchanting (strangely that's about how long it took me to powermine from 75 to 85)
  21. 1k total f2p. I'm happy with my cash situation as it is. Keeping my mining at the same level as my combat (until I hit 99)
  22. My name is zubee, and I own a dhide helm  Lately the only problem I've had with my mask has been people coming up to me offering to buy it for the runehq price (it's happened 3 times in the last 4 days, no clue why) I especially like the pic of the 2 golems (I did the same thing with tree spirits) and the guy looking you up in the highscores. When I read that "It isn't ranked" I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Only interesting mining pics I got are the one where I hit 85 and the one where I got 2 emeralds from the same addy rock wearing my green mask and dhide (SOOOO much green  )
  23. The problem with bots isn't that jagex doesn't ban them. Really, what difference does it make even if they do? It's not hard for a bot to set up a new account, and it would take less then a day to get to 60 wc to cut yews.
