  1. Same guy: "Lol I just teamed this nub in wildy gonna bs him" Later, after being beaten: "Come help me beat this noob" I laughed for a good 10 minutes
  2. Could anyone explain this to me? I tried looking it up but to no avail (and I think the search thing may be on the fritz, looked up "world 16 air running", "world 16 air" and "world 16" without the quotes, and found no matches). What is the standard rate? How do you differentiate the runners from the crafters?
  3. How does that save time? Hmmmmm, click twice to answer a question, or click twice to not answer a question...neither's faster. Really, when I did the SoS (about and hour after it was released) I didn;t even READ the questions, I just picked the answer that made sense "Yes, jagex blocks your password if you say it." "No, Jagex does not block your password if you say it" Gee, I wonder which one's the rght answer?
  4. I'd say roughly 300k mining runeite, more if I'm lucky.
  5. "Buying red mask 37mil" I think the going rate for them is about 35m, so in world 1 a merchant would jump at the chance to sell, while at the same time not avoid you (as offering 37mil for something small may have people thinking you're a scammer)
  6. Rares are a sign of wealth. Full dragon is as well, but I'm going to be a helluva lot more impressed with a blue phat then by full dragon/a nice POH. Having a 500mil piece of paper IS impressive. Maybe not to you, but the majority think so (well the majority of the people who know what it is) And having a rare doesn't exempt you from being called an idiot(I own a corvette, but I'd still be called an idiot if I said that all corvette owners should drive their cars over a bridge). You might not think it looks cool, but others do. You might not think it's impressive, but others do. Guess what? The world does NOT revolve around YOUR oppinion! Rares are not useless. This is a fact, not an oppinion. Phat merchanting is by far the best way in the game to earn cash (exept maybe staking phats, but both involve them anyway).
  7. 1)Go back to paint 2)Save the full-size images as .PNG files 3)Put them on photobucket Photobucket resizes .BMP files (what you normally save pics as), that's probably why they're so small. .PNG files are much smaller bytewise, so you can make big ones and not worry about them getting re-sized (.JPG also works [like my sig], but I find it makes the pic REALLY ugly)
  8. About a month after I started playing, in full black, lvl 13, to a mage in wizzy tower.
  9. That's actually a really good point, and one I hadn't thought of to boot  Really, as an f2per I dont really care about whether or not we get a portion of a new skill, I'm happy with the game as it is. I make good cash, I'm a merchant. I own a rare, I can mine runeite, and that's all I need. F2pers can already make good cash, it's just that most choose not to, and I find it somewhat annoying that p2pers are so bloody greedy. "Oh teh noes f2p kud mak munee!!!11!!" So what?
  10. It would depend on the promotion for me, if my account wound up getting something out of it I'd go
  11. Not all the phats are worth more then the cracker though...
  12. *points to siggy* Green mask, green dhide, green cape, and a defense ammy.
  13. I'm woking an a new siggy, and I'm hopeing to get a picture of someone with a phat in it. If you have one, and would be willing to take a few moments from your busy runescapping life, I would be greatly, erm, greatful :P I'm after 2 pictures, one of someone in a phat (and armor if at all possible) running, viewed from the side with the camera almost level with the player (so as low as it will go), and one of someone in a phat taking a hit (can be 0, I'm really more aftere the pose of your guy leaning back or putting up a shield as they do when in melee combat then the pic of the damage itself)Same as the first, taken from the lowest possible angle (and preferrably without the monster blocking any of you, though I could easily edit out a rampant sword or claw :P) Again thanks in advance for any help I may recieve in my siggy-making venture :)
  14. I'm trying to make a siggy (duh), but I've run into a problem. I need screenies of the runescape message that says "you can now mine adamantite". Same for mith and coal. It's not so much the text that's needed, it's the picure of the ore, which is quite different from the pictures of the ore found elsewhere... Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Wow, just wow. Can I have your autograph? Also, I've been meaning to ask this even since I watched some durial video, what's the name of that second song you used? (Would have asked about the first, but someone beat me to it, and I love shaman king, but I've never gotten around to watching it in japanese, though I probably should...) Edit: never mind I found it myself, one of the people hosting the video on youtube had it written down =) It's called planet hell and it's by nightwish
  16. I bought my mask for a few reasons: I don't intend on ever selling it, but seeing it rise in price always brings a smile to my face  It looks really cool with green dhide. it gives me a sense of...identity. Though that may sound a little wierd. There will only ever be more and more high lvled players, people who hit 99 in whatever skill, but there is a maximum number of rares, one that will only ever go down. Esentially there are 2 things that, if lost, would make me quit runescape. The first is my mining level, the second my mask. They are the 2 biggest achievements of my runescape account, and 2 things that I probably couldn't get back if I lost. I'm an f2per, so any sign of wealth is nice. Members have more ways to make money then I can count, and there's a lot more to merchant with...
  17. Ping, slow internet connection etc. only have an effect on mining if they slow you down so much that the other guy's already mining by the time you get there. Again, I speak from experience, as more then 1 guy CAN get a rock. I used to have a theory about how mining works, but since tryint to mine runeite with 84 mining and a stout (oddly I havn't been to the RR's much since I got to 85...). Here' goes: You click on the rock, you make your first swing. If you don't get the ore, you get a certain number of swings that DON'T DO ANYTHING, they're just there to waste time. I believe rune is the only pickaxe that attempts to get the ore FIRST, as others have a few 'practice" swings prior to actually deciding whether or not you get the ore. (This btw is the reason that double clicking a rock DOES work) Lag has no effect on this (unless it's REALLY bad). After a few swings (3 I believe with rune pickaxes) you'll notice the animation jump (anyone who mines should know what I'm talking about). This signals the end of one attempt and the beginning of another. HOWEVER, you can ALSO get the ore at the end of one attempt. Now, let's say the server generates a number, and you need a 5 or higher to mine the rock: You and a guy are competing for the rock, your numbers are 2,3,4,1,7 and his are 4,3,1,2,5 He mines the ore FIRST because he has a better PING,most people, upon seeing a grey rock, quickly click on another. DON'T DO THIS! Because, as I mentionned before, you have a chance to get an ore at the END of an attempt as well as at the beginning. If you stay, you can get the coal from the seemingly empty rock (and yes I have tried this, MANY times, as well as having my brother purposely compete with me to see if it's possible). I'm guessing (well more then a guess, it's logic) that your guy only checks to see if there's ore in the rock at the BEGINNING of an attempt, so if you get the ore at the END, you'll get it even if there isn't an ore anymore (because this has not been checked, it's just assumed that there's still an ore) Remember, with the new game engine jagex does, more or less, ALL of the calculating for you, all your computer is doing is drawing up the graphics and sending information about your mouse and keyboard, so the lag of your computer will have little effect on how quickly the numbers get generated.
  18. For lower lvls, this is true. Yes 72 is low. Mine is 85, and I STILL prefer mining coal to runeite, so I have a fair bit of experience here. Now as far as lvls go when competing, THEY DO NOTHING. Again, I speak from experience. And I've actually tested this. I'll literally mine CIRCLES around a guy (meaning I'll mine 6 to 8 coals around him while he mines one, at my lvl more then half the time if I double click I get the coal in 2 swings), but if we start competing there seems to be a 50/50 chance I'll get the coal. Don't compete, it's NEVER going to end well for you.
  19. part of that got starred out, which date is it?
  20. A bit off topic here, but here's a little tip for any of you with constant virus problems (well, other then the obvious ones): Use a secondary comp account, one that has very few priveleges. Most viruses won't be able to install their programs if the account they latch onto doesn't have the right permission... Oh and btw, I keep my screensaver password protected, and it comes up after a minute. NOBODY but me touches my comp.
  21. Couldn't have said it better myself, though when actually laughing sometimes I'll say "That actually made me lol", or something to that effect.
  22. ... Some very exellent points =P Someone who didn't bother reading what I posted.. Someone who DID read what I posteed... ... how many people are gonna quote this? anyway to the original post f2p have full access to the strength skill Sorry, couldn't resist... Anyway, here are some skills that f2p has full access to: Attack Strength Hp Defense Mining Smithing Range Magic Prayer Anything else that was there before p2p came out "but zubee, f2pers don't have (insert members only object/part of skill here)" That's because they were added later. After the release of p2p: The map was EXPANDED The list of items was EXPANDED The list of monsters was EXPANDED The list of quests was EXPANDED The list of things each skill could do was EXPANDED Seeing a pattern? I'll say it again, in order for f2p to be a trial, they'd have to actually REMOVE something from it, which they have not done. Name me 1 thing jagex actually REMOVED from f2p (that was kept in p2p).
  23. pumpkins can be eaten to heal health and I heard they heal 14hp each, that makes them pretty useful in the wilderness. Yes... hm... OMG I'M ABOUT TO DIE LEMME EAT THIS PUMPKIN I BOUGHT FOR MILLIONS OF GP!!!! It would be pretty stupid, but you can still do it, proving that pumpkins do, in fact, have a use. We're not arguing over whether or not it has a GOOD use, just whether or not it has any use at all
  24. So what "full access" do free players get to any skill? Thus, you're right when you say that, "If it was a trial version, then we would have limited access to all skills...". But you're wrong when you say free players have full access to any skill whatsoever. Anyways, f2p is a trial version of the game. If it was the full game, with the member's as the "expansion", you wouldn't get messages saying "you need to be on a member's server..." etc. Wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong. First of all, f2pers have full access to all combat items. Before you go spouting out all the things members have and f2pers don't, think back to when rs first had the f2p/p2p options. There was no dragon, no whips and other such things. They were added AFTER the original p2p came out. Therefore they are all things added to the EXPANSION PACK that is p2p. Technically speaking, as far as full access goes, you can have 1 of 2 views on the subject: 1)Full access means everything that came out when the game was created, which f2pers have. 2)Full access means access to everything currently in the game, which any game with an expansion pack DOESN'T have. I used to play diablo2, and when it came out, the expansion. The expansion had new classes, new monsters and new items, but that didn't make the original game any less of a full game... Also, at the end of d2, you got a video pretty much guaranteeing an expansion pack, which could easily be compared to all the "you must be on a members server to do that" A trial of a game is when you take a full game, and remove most of it, or set a time limit on how long a person can play. An expansion pack is when you take an existing game, and add extra features for those willing to pay for it. Which of these sounds more like rs, which was once f2p ONLY, and merely had new things added on to get people to pay.
