You've still got it. The lighting around the top seems a bit odd though on the pawn.

Is there such a thing as "No Honor" anymore?
SAGE replied to cheezekillz's topic in Clan Discussions
Hopefully, the whole thing was just nonsense anyway. Who are we to judge someone for playing a game the way it was meant to be played. It's a fool's dream to run an the community and divide through law on an online game. -

Very immature title, not a good way to impress anyone. -
Point of this forum?
SAGE replied to R_2_H's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
There is still the option to duel someone, whether there is gain or not. Also, p2p BH can be quite profitable. -
What I said was meant as how Jagex sees it, they do not honestly care about your friends if there will be new players to replace them.

The hot new RWT thing - paying to have your acc leveled :/
SAGE replied to EugenyG's topic in General Discussion
hahaha. if detecting uneven trades on their end was too unwieldy, what makes you think it's any easier for them to look for conflicting IP addresses for 500k players a day?? and new detection system?? where was this announced again? And when was the last time I heard of an account sharing ban? (it was actually when RSC was just Runescape--I kid you not) Well, there is no point in explaining how easy it is to detect a conflicting IP address seeing as you are obviously computer illiterate for question such a thing but I will tell you right now that it is easy to tell the difference between someone connecting from China and America (for example). And many people have been banned/locked for account sharing, it was just harder for them to track down in the past, but I've known people who's accounts have been locked only hours after they have shared their accounts with friends. Ever heard of a proxy server? The Chinese macros can use an anonymous proxy located in the US to channel their login through, so to RS it seems like they logged in from the US/Britain/wherever. In fact, since Jagex banned most of China's IPs already, that's what they already do. Sure, you can't pinpoint it exactly to the buyer's own IP, but Jagex must allow a certain leeway of IP areas, otherwise they'd block anyone who ever logged in from a friend, who moved apartments, who uses a school computer, or a wireless laptop, or even a dynamic IP which changes a little every time you log in. Besides, this is something that you can't autoenforce. You must have a human person look through the logs, analyze what happened, and make a decision. With millions of logs, this simply gets out of hand, and one of the biggest reasons we saw so much macros in the past is because Jagex doesn't have enough people to deal with them. It won't be any different with this new macro type. I know quite a lot about proxy servers and VPNs as I use them quite often. I can easily tell the difference between a huge range of IP addresses. If you really want I can post a default range list. I never said all accounts would immediately be banned, but without the ability to trade in an unbalanced manner they will have more staff to focus on IP logging because half their staff will be relieved from RWT tracking. -

They are taking precautions to prevent fraudulent payment at the moment, it is their major focus. However, in the past people have gone as far as creating level threes, paying for a month of membership and at the just sending a message to the billing support reporting the payment as unauthorized. They will start taking more action against the IP addresses recorded at the time of these later on unauthorized payments for sure though.

I will also use this as a chance to bring up something regarding the new detection system. For those that do not know yet, Jagex has employed a formerly high ranked Paypal personal, I recall reading he was an executive, but let's just leave it at high ranked for now. Paypal is one of the most secure services you will find online when it comes to foreign login detection, almost absolutely always an account will be immediately locked the moment a foreign IP is detected logging in to the account. This new staff member Jagex has acquired has quite some control over the runnings of things, and he will of no doubt implemented some of the newer detection systems that have been placed inside the game. You really shouldn't sell them short, as much as I have to admit that they do not higher all quality staff, they aren't as stupid as everyone makes them out to be. It's quite hard answering hundreds of thousands of appeals, reports, queries and other random messages they receive. I would like to see you actively respond to 1,000 people commenting on how you could better your day to day life every day. --- Ok, so as I wrote this up you decided to take stabs at my ability to tell the difference between reality and false fed information. I have been actively communication with members of Jagex since 2002, I could tell you the accounts of many ex-staff that used to browse these forums, but I won't. You don't have to believe me, in fact I could care less if you don't but if you're going to try insult my intelligence by calling me gullible, well why should anyone listen to the propoganda you spread? If you don't want to entrust Jagex to do their best cleaning up the game then you have no right to complain, nobody is forcing you to play. -

They didn't want to release this update, they had to. If things kept going they way they were, Jagex would be bankrupt. They were facing lawsuits from credit card companies because of the charge backs caused when those bad eggs would sell membership, then claim fraud, when accounts would be sold, and the p2p would be refunded when the account is deemed to be stolen, and even those who just charge back p2p for the heck of it. It was costing the companies majorly and Jagex had to decide between 5-10% of their customers, of the 55-65% of customers paying by credit card. So please, next time, do not try justify something when you have no idea about the circumstances of such an event. -
Nobody, I usually only befriend those who I can communicate with outside of the game as I haven't actively played for a year or two. I think it's funny how rash everyone is acting, it's as if they can't understand the fact that it was publicly released and after an obvious rocky start, the update will be tweaked to try fix the situation. As much as I hate to say it, there will be newer players who take the place of those who quit because they didn't know of the old wilderness and haven't had anything taken away from them. To them, it will not be adapting to such a large change, but playing a new game.

Jagex have already considered this. Their new detection is much greater at finding conflicting IP addresses and rest assured a permanent ban will be easily enforced. -
As much as I am not happy with the recent update, please remember that it is hard for Jagex to instantly give us what we need to continue effectively running a clan community when they are not part of it themselves. The update was released, the entire set up will be fixed, with the first change coming in a major update on the 18th of December - just hang in there for now.

Rate this Party Chest "Drop"
SAGE replied to Jordanweb's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
My friend managed to pick up 46 whips and a 3rd age kite shield from drop parties over the last two days. It's quite hectic, even I have managed to linger in Falador to find out there was a 238m drop party happening in 4 minutes. Guess people truly are taking this update seriously. -
Thanks for all the comments and ratings. My bank is quite different now, made about 20m playing with the current rapidly changing market. Zibl, you'll be happy to know I have 11k blue wizard hats now. :)

There are current discussions between clan leaders and certain Jagex moderators on a fan site I will not name, it seems there will be a few changes implemented to change it to a more appropriate setting for the ongoing clans of the now. Personally, I think this is the result of the old saying "be careful what you wish for", however in such an instance nobody was wishing for anything, but complaining and crying. All this clan support rubbish only lead to Jagex removing one of the very few scenes we, as players controlled. I was always confident such an outcome would only be achieved if everyone would presume pushing for such updates, and have posted my opinion many times; now with the update released everyone suddenly turns their back, not realizing the update is partly their fault.

[10-12-2007] The new updates, tell us what you think!
SAGE replied to 10l12l2007's topic in General Discussion
That's nothing but immature and idiotic, comparing a terrorist attack to a poorly liked update on a java based game is nothing more than childish. Anyway, as much as a vote will gather the opinion of everyone here, it would be highly inaccurate because in general the users of fan site forums such as these, and other popular fan sites are different from your average player. That being said, we are in no way a majority, and the combined opinion would poorly represent the overall opinion on this update. Also, these updates largely vary on their impact on the game, so generalizing your opinion on the fact that you might vote yes because you really enjoy the bounty hunter mini-game, or you might vote no because you were a highly active wilderness player killer would just make it meaningless. A good idea and effort, nonetheless. -
Such shenanigans will prove useless. As the current situation is, at a forum I will not name due to advertising rules, there is a forum set up for discussion between certain leaders of clans and Jagex moderators, don't believe me? I don't really care, I have no reason to lie. Real life trading doesn't just introduce an unfair advantage to the game, and supply players with easy gold pieces and the usual things you think of, there is a larger problem at hand. See, unfortunately these bad eggs who break rules such as real world trading have created a much bigger problem. With accounts being sold, membership, and obviously in-game items, Jagex has to crack down on these things - when they do find proof of membership purchase being fraudulent, or assisted by someone not authorized to do so they refund the payments, as well as when stolen accounts are proven to be not obtained by the original owner at any point, yet again they refund all the membership payments of the time in question. What does this come to, you're probably wondering, and at the same time doubting my honesty and integrity, but it's simple - the companies who deal with the selling of Runescape membership have to refund these payments, it is costing them a lot of money in the long run, especially with such a boom in real life trading, and other illegal activities. The credit card companies were to succumb to an agreement that they would no longer pay for the actions and consequences of their third party consumers and this lead to more serious issues in regaurds to the real life trading, account selling and other "black market" deals of the game which leads you to the update you see today. Of course it would be ignorant for anyone to say this is the only reason they decided to axe half the game after it existing peacefully for so long - but if you were to put yourself in the position of Andrew Gower, you would be forced to decide between the 5-10% of players who solely play for clanning, or the 15-20% who solely play to merchant, or the 50-70% that pay by debit/credit card. Although this decision was no doubt helped by the recent employment of the former Paypal executive (not to sure on that part, although I know for sure he was high up in their office). Some things that have been brought up for discussion and reasoning so far are; - If a player has actively been on the friends list for over a month, he or she may be able to receive more value from a trade. - Returning circumstances for the arena, chosen by each clan leader before accepting the battle. - Changes to the Bounty Hunter mini-game, possibly a room where a minimal amount of gear is required to avoid one iteming players. There are obviously more, but I do not intend on looking through dozens of posts and rethinking the criteria of my own post - but there is still a small bit of hope. They will never "take back" the update, reverse it or any of that nonsense, but such a large impact will obviously not go unchanged after public release; players really need to calm down before proclaiming judgement day and heading for the hills, give them a fair go. I do not like defending Jagex, as even I have not had the fairest history with their customer service and department, but there is no reason for such foolishness.

Haven't really posted on Tip.it for a while, guess I might as well post my bank picture. Comment as you please.

His 86 Runecrafting to me is much more impressive as opposed to any of the stats you have. Good luck no 91, almost there - well, level wise at least.

And to think back to when you just done landscapes and Teragen(sp?). Not really up for giving c/c at the moment, may edit later - good work as always though.

You never cease to amaze me with your creativity and ability, Terley.
