  1. There was a quest where you had to become a female to complete it, but it gave you the money to change back, or a free change or whatever. When i did it, during that quest, i recieved over 500k in freebies from horny kids who like dodgy graphic women... so i went with it, and my ignore list soon became a monster of epic proportion, and my bank filled with free mystic robes and dragon skirts (back when they were 1 mill too!) point is, its a smart move if your smart about it. but yeah, i changed because i got bored.. meh.
  2. Yes, summoning is looked down upon, personally i havnt gotten to train it much (lvl 48 i believe currenty f2p :wall: ) The people who tend to look down on it, are arrogant [puncture]s who are mad that there's a new dynamic to the game, deal with it, evolve and adapt, humans are pretty well known for doing that : to those who say that it shouldnt count towards combat because you dont always use it, well, sure, YOU dont always use it, some people DO use it. Not everyone uses defence? when you range blue dragons, you arent using your defence, strength, attack, hp, mage, i mean cmon, thats a weak arguement. thats like saying my eyes shouldnt count towards my pilots licence because i dont use them when i sleep! seriously, if im trying to sell loot, there isnt a familiar who helps me make a sale (which would be totally awesome by the way) so i dont use a familiar, but if im going somewhere where summoning will benifit, hell yes i will use a familiar! this is a new spin on prayer to be honest, except way more functional! its not just a combat thing now, i mean you dont use prayer 100% of the time, (unless your rich and carry ppots everywhere) you use it when its needed, thus the point of a SKILL. you dont go into life with one skill and say your all good, unless your me and have the skill of amazing :shame: so, in closing, great skill, it requires combat to get, so yeah, it should help with combat level, its required to be purchased (shards and pouches) and if you wanna be a trooper, go gather all your own seconds, see you at 99 budd! deal with it, as i said before, if you dont adapt, you die. Period. *you can probably live without summoning, but its benifits are undeniably good, and you should get off your high horse and try it!*
  3. Alright, this can be solved people! 1: limit the weapons usable to strength and attack levels: Dual wield 2 rune daggers takes 60 attack, and 40 strength, dragon daggers would take 80 attack and 60 strength, as the weapon class goes up (dagger-sword) strength and attack requirements go up too, so a dragon longsword would be something like 80 strength, and 90 attack. 2: damage: would be INCREASED, because the total would be 120% damage (each weapon would use 60% of its normal damage) this may not sound like alot, but that right there is a salve amulet (e) ontop of your weapons 3: armour: this would make you more vulnerable, but isntead of a set -40 to defences ( as barrows would snuff that out) make your defences drop by a percentile, say.. 25% defence drop to all melee defences (range wouldnt be hurt and mage wouldnt suffer either) *this can be done, we have such bonuses with summoning, just as a bonus not a demerit* 4: weapon specials: these would remain the same. no change. you have 2 weapons, boohoo, 2 specials is too powerful, if anything they should be dropped altogether. all inall, great for speed training on weaker slayer monsters, and alright for suiciding. prayer would make this so amazingly abusuable, but then again, prayer is just cheap. speed probably wouldnt change much, a touch slower but nothing heavy. hopefully that covers every base, i doubt it will ever be implemented but if it were, this is probably what you could expect!
  4. Just as a note, I'm almost positive, that Jagex wouldnt allow you to take other peoples items into BH, BH is the measure of YOUR OWN skill, not what rich friends you have to stack your equipment.
  5. Well.. it'd be another skill tool i wouldnt bother buying for a long time... and just speculation, but i'd assume the special would be something cool, like 25% drain, when mining, has a % chance to 1 hit your rock, depending on the mining level required and yours, and in addition a % chance of getting multiple ores from one rock.. or just one of those. if it has to do with combat.. then bleh, rune works fine and its only 15k..
  6. In one of the dev diaries, they went into a pretty good amount of detail of how item lending would be. you can lend any item that doesnt degrade, or is otherwise marked untradeable you can only lend or have lent 1 item at a time you can set how long you wish to lend the item (anywhere from 1 hour, to when the person logs out, or when you log out, up to 24 or 48 hours or something) you cant trade a lent item, and if you die you keep it over anything you may have and some other things, such as the item being marked as "lender's name" 's godsword ect. I'm pretty sure there will be NO limit to the price of items lent, this is implemented to bring back item lending in a safe way (i remember being lent whips and such to use for training and then trading back before i logged out) but this way you have no risk of loosing a lent item. I say its gonna be fun to be able to lend items out to people, make their day, and have cool items lent to me, i doubt it will have any dire effect on prices of anything really, not directly at least, think of how many people will actually lend items to begin with, and think about how that would affect the economic value of the item, there arent any more of them in the game, supply hasnt gone up, only temporary demand has been satisfied, so in theory, the market would technically go up because of increased demand overall.. I think.
  7. Its not only with soccer, its with any major sport  There have been riots over hockey in Canada, Football and Basketball in America, Baseball in America and Japan ect. Its nothing special to soccer. And for the record, its not debate, soccer = soccer  To be honest, no your wrong. Look it up, soccer is far, FAR older than almost any of those sports, (basketball dates back to the Inca's, but they always wore paint anyway). Look outside of your collidascope view of world sport and you'll see very plainly that soccer has THE most fanatical fans alive. Period. Americans claim to love a team, and hey they even paint up, and have the odd brawl over disputes of who's better, but wear a manchester team shirt into France, and you will be curb stomped by the nearest mime in seconds. Futbal, (yes that is how its spelled, with some odd dots n' such) is more of a religion than a sport, its worshipped, I myself have played soccer for over a decade, and to put it simply, European sports whoop american sports for cruelty, passion, and violence, the ability to sprint for over an hour (as any pro soccer player can) is not found in many americans regardless of sport, and then of course there's Rugby.. whole nother story there. But yes, while most sports have devout fans, and fights over superiority, soccer reigns supreme for fanatics, city wide riots, and deaths by trampeling while trying to leave the world cup match. great topic, great read, great point *applause*
  8. Nice Kinemas, I got one on my first ever run, didnt even realize it was rare at all :D useless for me, but still pretty awesome compared to people who camp for one haha. by the way, why not use a Dds? makes things alot quicker for me, unless theres something special your doing?
  9. Hey, been gone for a few years, thought this would be a good place to resurface \ First off- I'm absolutely DISGUSTED how you people talk about F2P. 'gargabe' 'whiners' 'leeches'? Get rid of F2P and watch your precious economy crash, watch yews go from 200 a piece to 1k each, and the same goes for the other mass produced resourses that members rely on f2p to get fast, cheap and effective so that we make the most of our money. so instead, call them/us the backbone of runescape, the lambs, the sheep, the workhorses whatever, but F2P are to be respected for their service, and dont trash them just because they may not be financially able to pay. instead be grateful that you yourself are well off enough to afford 5$ a month. second- Why not make this skill F2P? makes so much sense to me i'd laugh at bad business sense of jagex if they passed up this opportunity: like with most of the GREATEST updates to games, a small portion, a taste, a HOOK is left for the free players to try, and make them crave the true abilities. It makes total sense for jagex to release a portion of this skill to F2P, it would get them many times more people wanting members than if they just showed pictures. you dont buy a car because you like the picture on the internet, you buy it for you like it after you've tried it! its a business move, itll make them more money, which they sadly need after the mass quittings lately. So to those of you who say "F2P doesnt deserve it", it doesnt matter, its what they think, and know will hook F2P to buy membership, for the added benifit. and finally- wasnt some sort of quest required for runecrafting, which is F2P? i see no problem with a quest being released to F2P for summoning. thankyou for your time, I wont be replying most likely, just thought i'd give my opinion as both a member, and a free to play player who's been around since the times when people had manners.. and didnt instantly scream noob and flame when something that slightly irritated them popped up... Enjoy!
  10. Despite i didn't show any ego, without even posting my level and my game experience but talking as a normal user dealing with his own opinion (while you assumed something since of what you said about sigmaking lvl and so on), actualy sharing it as you claim you've done later on, and despite i doubt your cultural and experience bg is so clearly better than mine (check previous post for reference) as to assume that "probably yes" [since i'm 24, got 1st degree in Engeneering for Telecomunication Systems in the hardest university of my Country (not realy for choice but actualy cause i live 10 mins on foot far from it lol), taking advanced economy classes along the way and that i'm still studying...] I guess it's nice to let the thing die since i basicaly can't develop hard feelings for more than a couple mins :) . I took the chance to even our odds and let my ego speak, since it's been poked while tenderly asleep as i force him to be when i post here. I think that solves the personal side of the problem from my side, too. I also posted in the "official channels" my ideas btw, actualy talking with Jmods ingame too. But this is the board i've always been into for how many years , 4 ? maybe 5. Can't i post my ideas here without being flamed ? I didn't seem to insult any1... The fact is, and it's bright in the sun, that today's update has no logic. Lvl 30 course (that makes it low-level oriented btw) with poor rewards isn't realy what we needed as the guy above wisely explained. The good graphical effort looks somehow wasted to me. every1 able to do the agility course will skip this, as well as other low levels that might prefer barbarian outpost and agility arena (funny as hell imo). If you then consider that the low levels in this game are fast as hell to do...you'll get my point. What if the place was a good lvl 70 or 75 agility spot ? wouldn't that make more sense ? Just my 2cents. Again no real offence and hard feeling taken here. Text communication is somehow forced to look either black or white. Hard to get the middle tones at first try  ummmm, dude, thats at least a dollar......
  11. FINALLY!!!!!!!!! someone with an IQ above that of a monkey!!!! bladeofgod you rock, your proposal of the throwing stick is sweet ( i was something similar on the magic school bus  ) and yes a use for javs *bright light* where i smacked together a random idea you've put in a backbone and some meat, now its just sweet, can i add your post to my post on the 1st page, BIG credit to you. and to all you flamers, the IQ joke was toward you, not the other supporters.
  12. i do think out ALL of my ideas, this would work, it has minor flaws, use your imagination, and leave my thread if all your going to do is trash my idea, ive put up with you long enough.
  13. was it you who said "get a better reason than magic"?, well well look who goes to the dark side lol, here lets make my idea "crystal multi-weapon" dropped by the crystal giant, that make it better? and if not you prove my point that you will defend almost all of what your precious jagex makes wholly, i come up with one idea and you spend what 30 minutes, an hour trashing it? why? because i didnt bother to think it through down to the simple math and measurements, thats how i use my imagination, yes for some things i think up i make it extremely down to earth, but then people with real imagination can believe in things that couldnt happen (even tho this would work in seperate weapons  ), think outside your small industrialized box.
  14. again, i take everything posted into consideration, but i know what im taling about. i'm just really tired of people with bad opions, not naming anyone here and not really suggesting anyone from this topic, but all things aside i've spent a few hours testing this and my idea works better in theory, but it still has its plausibility in the real world, exept for the whole stick the two swords together to make a bow, thats just convenience and use of the suspension of reality in most game worlds, and as for flexibility in bows, not all of them are too flexible, a hand made pine longbow has nearly no flexibility yet i can launch a generic arrow close to 150 feet, thats pretty damn good. so please don't lecture me on the importance of flex, flex is mainly for shortbows so that they maintain speed and keep some power, and for the sword, talk to my uncle who spent 3 years in Nigeria, then tell him that the design wont work. anyway i think im gonna abandon this post, thanks for your support (2 people and a couple nice thoughts on the main idea) and those of you who stick with your opinion that everything in a game has to be pefect and has to work, get some imagination... please.
  15. please remember that runescape is not the real world, it's just an idea not everything has to work perfectly,(although i know that this would other than the weakend center point where it splits), unlike many people i do take archery lessons for hunting, i've pucheased a few foregn (sp?) swords and lots that i've browsed to have curves and points along that curve on the inside but not to the point for [bleep]es. and please just be reasonable and open to new things, it's never gonna be introduced to your precious game, its just a fun idea, i mean 3 in one its just the medieval (thx for spelling lol) swiss army knife  .
  16. i take evything your saying into prespective, but not everything HAS to work. i know what i'm talking about, and i know all about how whips were used in the past, and btw only in the movies were they capable of rendering a sword useless by wrapping around and ripping it away, the person would have to stand still to allow this to happen, in a case of whip vs. sword the person with the sword would rush the the whip making it near impossible to hit with and stopping it from being used at all. a 15 ft. whip is useless if your targed is 2 feet away. and as for those who say bad stuff about a raw idea: nothings perfect, but i don't see God complaining about you...
  17. My main idea was just put the idea of a multi-weapon out there, but i guess i messed up because every little detail about it isnt perfect, and some people get up tight because i used katana as a reference. and for whoever posted the huge thing which i took the time to read you have some very strong points, i agree with much of what you said but i also realise you didnt quite understand my bad diagram, melee weapon: put the [bleep]es toward the enemy then the curve adds support againts the opposing force, with bow turn it around and the bow will bend with the pull of the string, nothing says ill even send this in to Jagex, probably another game that is being made, such as P.S.U. (phantasy star universe), they have taken my ideas before 8) (if you've played pso look for the Varista) in a game nothing has to work, and again I USE SARCASM, my whole "it works because of magic" wasnt meant to be seious, and as for the question"where will the string go?!?!/11/?, it is so amazingly easy to add on a niche or something its not even funny. it's just an idea, jeez you people flame it like its the death of the world
  18. if you're not able to see sarcasm i'm sorry, but not everything has to work in reality, if you know anything about history you know that whips were definatly not a deadly weapon, as they could not hit you if you wore any sort of armor (ie midevil times), the fact that its rigid as a sword and flexible as a bow can be explained by simple physics, it depends how you use it, string it as a bow and the string hold tension aswell as the user having good enough strength to flex the bow, as a sword you can use the curve to you advantage, make the point face toward the targed ----------------/| ---------------/>| --------------/>|-----------------enemy -------------/>-|<----force going this way has less effect on the integrity ------------/>--| -----------/>---| ----------/------|<--bow string, pull back and it will bend with less effort ---------+------| ---------+------| ---------+ (note that i simply stink at drawing with text) simple physics
  19. again i should clarify, THIS IS NOT A KATANA!!. i used katana as a visual refrence. to answer a question, how does if have the flexibility of a bow and the durability of a sword? magic, simple as that. think about how a whip is stronger than a sword? that doesnt make sense either.
  20. i guess ill add on some statistics of getting it from the monster, just to give an idea of the price.
  21. to clarify, i never said it was "katana's" i said thats what they would resemble. and why not 3 different weapons? because i think it's just a cool concept of not having to buy 3 different weapons when you can have it all wrapped up in one, with the use of one bowstring, dunno about you but switching from one of the best melee weapons (not 170 str and slash, whoever said that doesnt understand) to the best mage weapon, and then to a sweet bow in a matter of seconds is pretty awsome. and thank you barihawk you've completly understood what im saying, i bow to you for using your brain :D
  22. My idea is a multi-weapon, meaning it is used for more than just melee, range or mage. the way i see it is as a drop from the upcoming slayer monsters, or some other random monster, you get said monsters jaw just like with the fremmy armor. you take the jaw and get it made into a staff, which you can use a bowstring on to make it a bow, or have an optoin of *separate* to make two swords. idea on looks is this: the staff is curved to make a shape like a stretched u with teeth or [bleep]es going from halway to the end of each side, in the middle is a handle. when used as a staff, both points face outward, as a bow it looks like a curved stick used for flinging javelins, and as the duel swords/katanas it is a longsword in each hand. this weapon might serve as a high lvl (70ish) weapon, it could be a replacement of whip for best weapon spot, the staff is 1-handed while the other two speak for themselves, the katanas would have stats along the lines of: ------ def: stab: 70 ------ stab:10 slash: 85 ----- slash:6 crush:-10 ----- crush:0 magic:0* ----- magic:-5 range:0* ------ range:5 str:85 prayer: 3 speed: same as longsword * as a staff: ---- def: stab:0 ------ stab:10 slash:-10 ------ slash:6 crush:60 ------ crush:0 magic:15 ------ magic:15 range:-10 ------ range:-5 str:55 prayer: 3 speed: same as spear or staff * as a stick: --- def: stab:0 ----- stab:0 slash:0 ------ slash:10 crush:-10 ----- crush:0 magic:0 ----- magic:5 range:75 ----- range:0 str:0 prayer:3 speed: same as crystal bow (slightly faster than longbow) For all you peeps that dont know what it looks like: So if you have a little fantasy you can easly combine these 3 things and Wallaaaahhh you have the idea our poster sort of had in mind. Now for all you people who cant really think, this would sort out the problem with useless javalins ! Since now you can fire your javalins with your Throwing stick that is combined in your (katana, staff, throwing stick)weapon. This would be a MASTER weapon which pulls of the plan you guys had in mind but without any knowledge of weaponry couldnt think off. So the way this weapon would work as as following. Instead of selecting attack strenght or defence you would be selecting these styles you would be selecting: Mage, Ranged or Melee. I know this would probly not work with the animations but this would be the best solutions but i dont think jagex can pull this off. Otherwise you would need to diss equip this item and slect it somehow in the inventory. Now if you would to choose staff you would be equiping a staff just like any. If you where to choose Melee you would equip double blades(wheter this be katanas or anything else since all you noobs just like to look smart and say the idea is lame). If you where to use Ranged you would also need to equip javalins such as rune javalins. Obviously the attack damedge and range would improve considerebly as the info says. This is logicall as the Throwing sticks functions act as an extention of your arm thus increasing the lengt of it which conducts in an increase of speed which leads to more range and power. The idea of this weapon would only be limited to the RS2 engine as i just proved it is POSSIBLE and fairly eassy. Not only did i proved it to be possible i also proved that javalins would be usefull, so that would be another awesome addition to ranged skill which is needed. I dont have a problem if you post this on other forums but i would like to get credit for it 8) I would like any comments on this because obviously my idea isnt flawless but the main point of it has no flaws. Dont flame me for grammer i am dutch and i try the best i can do in the time i have. Greetz, Blade SUPER BIG thanks to bladeofgod for his help improving my range idea he gets huge props :P to change the weapon is simple, just right click separate/connect the monster dropping the jaw would be very high lvled, something like the kbd, NON-multi area, very rare drop, and to have it crafted into the weapon would cost....bout 500k. my guess is price would sit around 10 mill for this weapon for a long time. the ratio would be about 1:1500, keep in mind this is an insane monster, high def, high hp. post what you think, im open to constructive critisism, and please no grammar police. one more thing, if someonecould post this on official forums that'd be nice, with some credit to me. *possible last note: this is an idea, nothing saying it will ever be implemented, at least not to rs, i just thought people would enjoy the concept, flame to your hearts content, but CONSTRUCTIVE critisism is appreciated
