I hate this kinda stuff. People from both camps make me so mad it's not funny. The people that spout crap about being atheist because religion is "fiction, a joke," and so forth who know nothing about creationism or the bible. The pushy ultra-conservative Christians who hate people on the basis of an ancient text. The people who hate Church because they had to attend Sunday school. The people who endlessly harass others about converting and "seeing the truth," then commit some immorality and say "Oops, I'm human" as an excuse. Know what? I don't care about the museum. People that think children will be affected by it fail to realize that it is a parents' job to filter these kinds of things out for their kids. We as a nation should not have to constantly police our youth into utter complacency - raising children is the responsibility of a guardian, unless you all want an Orwellian state. So who cares? Let them build the museum. If you don't like it then don't go to see it. And I'll eat my shoe once somebody can give me SOLID EVIDENCE that the Earth was or wasn't created by God, or that there isn't a flying spaghetti monster. Or that we landed on the moon for real.

Izzy Stradlin, simply because he did all the REAL songwriting work for Guns 'N' Roses. Slash is so incredibly overrated it's not funny - you can't do all those tight intertwining rhythm harmonies with just one guitarist live ya know ;)

I don't hate anybody but I've pretty much lost all respect I had for my parents. It would be one thing if it were normal conflicts like "Oh gee I wanna get a piercing/stay out late at night/be a slacker/go drinking" or something like that, but it's more actual domestic issues because they are going through their midlife crisis or something. They haven't shown me much right lately, only wrong stuff. Like my dad saying, to my face, that I'm the reason our family is disintegrating. Or my Mom shouting foreign curse words at drivers and people who do nothing wrong and using her age as justification for EVERTYHING, or shouting at me to do something then telling me to calm down when I yell back defensively. Or telling me repeatedly that I can't buy a new guitar because I'm not good enough because I refuse to take lessons (BTW this is justified so don't call me on it - I'm no Batio but I'm apparently coming along quite well for having played for 3.5 months now), not to mention her FINANCIALLY DECEIVING ME by saying that I have very low money in my checking account despite the fact that today I found my tax return in a kitchen drawer, uncashed. And part of the reason my checking account is kinda low is because my dad "loaned" me a laptop, then went to get it while I was at school and got upset by the fact that the speakers lost their clarity when cranked all the way. I then had to buy a new laptop for him, but since it had Vista on it I had to pay for an XP license as well, nevermind the fact that he'll have to upgrade EVENTUALLY and that he has 10 XP licenses as part of his Microsoft licensing program. And then he asks me why I am trying not to spend money. On top of all of this they always push this BS about how "oh if life weren't so STRESSFUL we'd be so much nicer to you" despite the fact they pretty much have showed me that they don't care and want me to go away. And when I do things wrong (which I know I do, believe it or not) they must harp on it over and over and tell me that they're always right about everything because they're older. For instance (back to guitar again) my mum was listening to me play and she's spouting off dog[cabbage] like "OH YOU MISPLACED A NOTE" or when I play a progression she's like "YOU NEED TO LEARN TO PLAY AN ENTIRE SONG BECAUSE OTHERWISE YOU'RE WORTH NOTHING." Then, "Oh gee Mom, since that note's misplaced why don't you mind telling me where it goes? I'm trying to play E7 here." Wait for it... "Oh that sounds like bull when I was a child we didn't have anything like that I got a CLASSICAL education and believe me although I haven't played piano in at least 35 years I still know." They constantly wonder why I avoid them and mouth off at them when they act like that and tell me that I'd better not do that to other adults, but you know, I can't think of anybody else that yells at me and acts as tyrannical as they do. It's no more than motivation to never be like them, ever. And that's that XD. Hey at least it's only psychological torture, I could be getting beat, I guess.

http://gomusic.ru It pwns the hell out of allofmp3, but like nobody uses it. I can't really figure out why, either. And even if it is a "loophole," I don't care. The artists I listen to are all retired and/or filthy rich, and if I like a band enough I buy their CD anyway (I own 50-some as of now). The record companies are so damned greedy it's not funny - trying to pawn off a 25-cent piece of plastic with a few dollars per CD for production and promotion as $18? That's BS, that's what. I will however admit that downloading is a problem, especially among people my age. They listen to up and coming artists that don't make much money because people just end up pirating stuff anyway. Almost everybody I know owns maybe two CDs at most. I distribute my music to people on DVDs, but that's because virtually 95% of the music is at least 30 years old anyways, and any loss of profit is negligible for retired rock stars. I think they need to have public service announcements that guilt people into buying CDs for new artists that aren't filthy rich just yet. But RIAA = the suck no matter what.

You can not honestly believe that people can be born with amazing singing voices without ever working at it... I can. You either have a good voice or you don't. You can develop your voice, certainly, but if you have a "regular" voice it's pretty near impossible to get the range and/or emotional response that good singers have. These people have, by their own admission, little to no training at all, musically-speaking. It takes YEARS AND YEARS of diligent practice and training to learn to play an instrument on a level considered "amazing," and yet these people on American Idol are praised for their "incredible" voices and performances and potential, and they all have day jobs and showed up at auditions on a whim.

The people that read this thread care what you type because we don't want to have to struggle to decipher things. Don't try to justify your laziness. And once again, if it's "your" thread then why should anybody else respond to it? Who owns this server? Why don't you make this thread on your own forum? Granted I'm being rather petty at this point but you made a 5 word post for apparently no reason at all, and that's the bottom line.

My chemistry teacher, or teachers, are terrible. They all act as a hivemind consciousness, so that the three there are all do the exact same thing every day and assign the same homework. There's one that does her job quite well but has fallen victim to the others' system, but I don't have her. I have perhaps the worst possible one to have. Among the list of fun things that have been done to us: Making extra credit homework at the last minute since "most" people did it Putting stuff in the chapter "packet" that they hand out that they didn't teach us on the test Scheduling a test make-up, not showing up that day because of a meeting they knew about, then telling me that I went past the threshold for making it up Losing a lab that I did entirely in class and turned in same day (I pointed out that I was there that day and that I couldn't have possibly went to all that trouble then not turned it in, but I still had to re-do it on my own time) Threatening somebody with disciplinary action for twirling a pen Telling me she's "pissed off" by the fact that while we literally sit and wait for her to stubbornly check our assignments ONE AT A TIME ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS DURING CLASS TIME we play cards. Refusing to adjust test grades on the spot when they're wrong, saying that if we're borderline at the end of the quarter they'll "consider it." One of the most unprofessional, lazy people I've ever met in my entire life. And when a high schooler can call you unprofessional you know you're in trouble.

Come on buddy, don't be a N00B! Ask yourself: Did your post contribute to the conversation? Was it longer than one sentence? Does it have an appropriate mixture of capital and lowercase letters? Does it have periods and punctuation to maintain a logical progression of thought? Does one gain anything from reading your post? The answer to at least one (if not all of the above) posts is no, therefore you shouldn't have posted it. Just FYI if you're new to the whole forums thing ;-)

Too bad it's not technically an anime since it's made in the US as far as I know. It's one of those impostor ones, like the French-produced Code Lyoko. That said I still don't like it much. +1 to whoever said Toonami back in the day. Probably their best programming block they ever had was Mobile Suit Gundam, Outlaw Star, Dragonball, and DBZ. Those shows all OWNED (except for DBZ, I couldn't stand it. Dragonball was so much better).

That really narrows it down. It's not every day you see a girl dancing in underwear under neon lights in a trance video ... :D.

I would take up the saxophone or some type of brass.

What's so loathesome is that these peoples' "talent" wasn't really acquired through years of hard work - they were born with it, plain and simple. And yet somehow a corporate television show gets more recognition of "talent" by the general public than any number of virtuoso musicians. Ask somebody off of the street who Steve Vai or somebody similar is, and they'll have no idea. Ask somebody who an American Idol contestant is and they know instantly. That's why I've always said that they should either get contestants to play instruments or write their own songs. At least that way they have to -do- something besides frolic about on a stage and do what they were born to do. Even if you don't agree with the sentiment about vocal versus musical talent, you can surely understand my frustration with the fact that all they do is cover butchered versions of songs, sometimes making them terribly bad, like the one guy that got a turntablist to do "You Give Love a Bad Name."

Some of my friends were saying "GOD CHIODOS IS THE GREATEST!" and I was wholly disappointed when I listened to them. I don't much like their kinda music either, but I mean come on, I know people personally that play locally and do a better job than they do, technically-speaking at least.

Heh, I had bronchitis for a few weeks and my mom was like "oh I get that sometimes you'll be alright." I went to school coked on Coca-Cola and mentholated lozenges.

If you lack identity to jump onto a social bandwagon then I feel sorry for you. I don't know any nice chavs or emos, at all. They all are too self-absorbed in their own little cultures to care about anybody else.

*cough* Camobizkit *cough* Though I didn't know them that well so I can't testify as to how they acted or were as a perosn.

Hey! I just noticed that I joined Tip.It almost four years ago to the day in April, when I was but 11 years old. Just poking my head in to see if there's anybody from that era still around, or if anybody remembers the way things ran at DK3, and so on and so forth. Funny to see how I've changed too... I wish we still had the Scapeboard archives, but they're undoubtedly gone from existence, unfortunately...

Oh come on. I fixed my ingrown nail myself, after enduring two weeks of swelling. Just got in a steamy shower for a few minutes, turned on a bright light, grit my teeth and started working that thing with my fingers and my thumb nail. That was teeth gritting and took a good 7 minutes, but after a few days the pain was gone and it was worth it :D. Probably the worst pain I've ever felt in my life was this thing that I have chronically, and the first time I got it was the worst because I didn't know how to deal with it! From what my dad told me it's a buildup of lactic acid in the muscles that suddenly gets released for no apparent reason. It's like a charley horse, but worse. I got one just lying on the sofa watching a movie, felt like my calf was gonna pop out of my leg! I started crying my [wagon] off, and apparently the way you get rid of these things is to bend your foot back and forth since it's connected to the ligaments and muscles and such inside your calf. Now I get them about once a month when I'm lying in bed, and once I feel one I just pounce it so that it doesn't hurt. But mang, it's terrible if you don't get to it... It feels like the muscle is flexing, then flexing harder, then like it's just gonna come clean off the bone... yikes, hurts just to think about it.

Yeah, pretty much +2  What's even worse is that when you're a teenager and you have little angst and your parents try to justify their twisted, distorted decisions and mood swings by saying that you're just "a kid." More specifically, when your mother wakes you up early to do yardwork, neglects to tell you about it the day before and gets upset at you for being tired after she kept you up until 1:30 because she was watching television and talking on the telephone. Sorry, just wanted to get that off my chest.

You're just as bad the rappers that remix. Seriously, how can you discount an entire genre like that? The only place you can do that is with Nu Metal as far as I'm concerned.

if someone is truly sorry for what they did...then why is there a need for punishment? that's the purpose of punishment...to instill a change in behavior...if the change is there...punishment is not necessary and you are looking at it wrong...we cannot do w/e we want b/c if that was the case then there wasn't a true change I consider Tigra to be right. I know a few devout Christians that are nice, non-obtrusive, decent people. Then again, I know a metric sh*tton of ones that say and do the meanest, most immoral things, then say "Oops I'm human I sinned too bad, I'll just go to confession and we'll all be happy again yay!" By this token it makes me sympathize with atheists. As one famous one put it, "it's not God I don't like, it's his fan club I can't stand." Then again, I know a bunch of self-professed atheists who celebrate Christmas and Easter for the sole purpose of receiving gifts. Whether or not these were pagan celebrations to begin with they don't believe in the religious connotations behind such happenings, and so they kinda just contradict themselves in their incessant proclamations of "lol god is teh conform lollaz bush is teh cristian an evil cuz i cnt bang girlfriend and get teh abortions lol"

Wait until atheism becomes more mainstream. As though it isn't already?

Who do u think is the top 5 greatest guitar players?
Kwisatz replied to ladydeath89's topic in Off-Topic
Mos' def. Right there, ladies and gentlemen! I'm hopefully gonna see BOC on July 4... if I'm any kind of lucky. -
I find it funny that people who listen to Fall Out Boy accuse somebody of liking a band for popularity.

Simple...It won't. Show me your degree in genetic engineering from an accredited university, or give some shred of reasonable proof, and I might believe you.
