  1. Please, make up your mind. At least that "piece of trash" is likely to be more consistent than you are.
  2. @bbalking: Wow. I didn't "unsuccessfully" insult you. I did insult you. Whether you took offense or acknowledged it as a valid comment is something else altogether. And saying that defending something means that you agree with it is absolute stupid. That's like saying that every soldier is a racist, pedophile, and so on because they defend a country that has those types of people living in it. Go join Westboro if that's the way you think. Way to contradict yourself, chief. You can't fault ANY text for conflicting views when you make a rhetorical blunder like that. And as for something old being inaccurate - that's like saying that the current way we farm or sleep or do any number of basic things is inaccurate because those things are all just as old if not older than the Bible itself. Your justification so far for the Bible being backward is because a small subset of nutjobs interprets it in a hateful manner - even Christian scholars totally demolish Fred Phelps when they talk to or about him. By your logic, thinking and reasoining is inaccurate because humans discovered free will some millenia ago, and because you are atheist and are spouting absolutely nothing all atheists are no more than blabbering morons. There. @malo2: I invite you to point your "reasons" out, considering that this guy has so far done nothing except devalue an entire group of people on the basis of a small extremist percentage. You are dropping OT's IQ, if anybody, making such a spammy two-line post. You've contributed absolutely zero besides aimlessly flaming me. **EDIT: @hellzbellz: I think that's why. His mommy made him sit through Sunday school for so long when he could be doing hardxcore things like flaming religion baselessly on a forum. His selfish attitude means that rather than being upset with whomever made him sit through all those lessons, he's upset at the subject matter, and his skewed perspective makes him think that such a sentiment applies to everybody. Too bad that's not so.
  3. So what makes you any better and less closed-minded than them, [bleep]wad? I'm interested. It's so easy to call an ancient text and moral code a "piece of trash," but when you hate them as they hate you it's rather difficult to justify your reasoning. Unless you can give me solid proof that there is no God (and by proof I mean something beyond "I want to impregnate my girlfriend and get an abortion" or "I haven't seen any evidence" since you haven't seen any evidence that there ISN'T a God either) then you can kindly stfu imo. And for the record, as usual, I'm Agnostic and honestly I'm still making up my mind. People like you make me want to believe there is something better, and people like them make me want to believe I have the power. And also for the record these people are terrible; they are what cause people like the above to form such negative views about organized religion in general. The word in question is "sheol" I believe. Outside of an ancient city, I can't remember which, there was a wasteland which people were cast into and/or buried and/or cremated, and this word was used to refer to this place. However in the ancient King James translation of the Bible it got rendered into Hell. Jehovah's Witnesses also use a more modern, updated version of the Bible that has the Dead Sea Scrolls and several other historical texts incorporated into it, contrary to the Catholics. Say what you will about them, they are probably some of the more informed and up-to-date followers of Christ. Don't quote me on that explanation BTW, it's something to that effect though.
  4. Because you all identify with a singular consciousness due to your own lack of identity. Don't worry, it'll wear off eventually.
  5. My home studio is pretty hardxcore. I have Cubase, a $30 sound card, a microphone, HammerHead RhythmStation with custom drum voices, a $70 effects pedal that I use for pitch shifting so I can play bass on my six-string, and a 1/4" mono to 1/8" mono audio adapter to go into the microphone port of my computer. Total cost: about $100, and I have a full band in a box.
  6. Falco. He sang (may he rest in peace) in German with occasional English words. See Vienna Calling, Der Kommissar, or Rock Me Amadeus. **EDIT: Video Weirdest video ever.
  7. Perhaps in an alternate universe.
  8. I'm no political analyst, but I know this much - if Hillary gets elected, I'm going overseas for college. Her having said what she's said about her stance on videogames and her desire to ban them, not to mention the wholly arbitrary declaration that Pac-Man is 75% violent, I don't think she can be rational about ANYTHING. If she can undermine free speech in a medium of entertainment and misconstrue something like Pac-Man, think about what she'll do to REAL issues.
  9. Savatage is probably my favorite "metal" band. Megadeth would probably be my favorite thrash band, and Blue Oyster Cult my favorite proto metal band, along with Deep Purple in close second.
  10. That's epic. Once again not really my thing. It's really sad - around where I live there are like two good band with any kind of talent at all. Then there's a bunch of crappy hardcore bands, a bunch of depthless acoustic acts, and people like my friends and I who tool around.
  11. Drive is my favorite slow song by far. But c'mon, that Foreigner song is one of their worst IMO. As far as songs like that go, Waiting For a Girl Like You is so much better, but their harder rock stuff like Hot Blooded (the juiced-up live version, that is) surpass both of them. Or Feels Like the First Time.
  12. My band would be so incredibly ultimate it's not funny. Vocals: Ian Gillian (Deep Purple) Drums: Albert Bouchard (Blue Oyster Cult) Rhythm Guitar: Tom Scholz (Boston) Lead Guitar: Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser (Blue Oyster Cult) Keyboards: Jon Lord (Deep Purple) Bass: Mike Watt (Minutemen) Gillian has a brilliant voice, and Lord has mad keyboard shreddage skill. Scholz would be the technical side of the band, providing the ultimate tone and production. Bouchard and Roeser are both great songwriters not to mention fairly technically gifted, and Mike Watt has got to be one of the best bassists on the face of the planet. EDIT: Ritchie Blackmore could easily pwn Jimmy Page. If I could get away with nicking blues riffs from decades-old folk songs like Jimmy does I would too, and that aside he's not even a super technically-talented player. Even though Blackmore loves his damned Pentatonics way too much he still plays better solos and such in my eyes. And I sware, if somebody tells me "omfg listen to stairwae to heaven lawl" I will stab them in the face.
  13. I really can't seem to make much sense of any of this anyway, and I was talking about this on the other thread. Unfortunately unlike you I don't have much going for me, at all, because around here it seems that girls are even more shallow than in other places (or so I'm told ;)) and everybody cares solely about athletics, and not really music which at this point I'm getting really into. The other bit is that I'm not really clingy and physically flirtatious with people that I don't know well or haven't established any such relationship with - and that's not really anybody at this point. I was always raised that you don't touch a woman unless it's something consensual and in a gentle manner - too damn bad that's not the way anything works. I guess I really can't tell where the actual line is -.- . In fact at the rate at which I'm going I won't have a date to prom. But hopes are coming in my 20s when you don't have to deal with molesting women - you can actually HAVE CONVERSATIONS with people in BARS and BE MEANINGFUL! I also think that it'll help when I don't have to deal with the same 500 people anymore talking about me constantly behind my back so I have less to lose by screwing up.
  14. Okay, then end-all to be-all regimen to get rid of acne. This works. First of all, stay away from caffeine, because caffeine elevates stress hormones, increases metabolism and causes more sweat and such. If you are gonna eat a greasy food then go ahead, but don't get any around your mouth and wash your hands immediately afterwards. Don't EVER touch your face EVER for ANYTHING, unless absolutely necessary. If you need to support your head then do it from where your hair is on your head on the side. Every night, wash your hands, and then POP all the whiteheads you have. Don't touch anything else. And when I say pop I mean like squeeze it so that it pops, don't pick it. Huge difference. That means don't use your nails; just use your fingers to place pressure around the base of the thing until it explodes. Then use a moisturizing soap (Dove). Then apply a benzoyl peroxide cream to your face. In the morning, just do normal, shave if applicable with an oil-free shaving cream, then wash with a moisturizing soap and dry off. Do the same when you get home from work/school/whatever. However don't really wash unless you came back from doing something excessively sweaty; washing too much a day will elevate oil levels on your face and cause more breakouts. Also don't apply the peroxide crap more than once per day, else your face will become crispy and flake and look all sorts of nasty. And that's that. Coming from somebody with hereditary moderate-severe acne this regimen of mine has worked the best out of anything, including the almighty Proactiv. And I refuse to take that weird Accutane crap. And in your case, the general rule of thumb is this - if the entity in question is at all differently-colored than the surrounding skin, you can try to pop it. If it's just raised skin and deep in there (cystic) then leave it be, because trying to pop it will make it ultra-raised and red looking. If it's a whitehead then pop the mofo. And if you have anything on your neck that looks like acne it could be razor bumps. In this case what you wanna do is get some real hot water, like hot enough almost to burn you but not quite, soak a washcloth in it and lay it around your neck where you get hair. Re-wet as needed and keep it there for 5 minutes, and then commence your regular shaving. And it helps to use a cream designed for sensitive skin (I use the Gilette one.) Learn from my mistakes XD. Took me 4 years or so to learn this crap.
  15. The world at large would rather have a "good" singer than a trained virtuoso instrumentalist. Nobody cares about the backing band more often than not, only the stylin' frontperson.
  16. I met them. Too bad I lost the paper I got the autographs on XD. The squad member who came and talked to our school last semester was the one who died in the crash a few months ago :( That was big news down here. I live right next to the Patuxent River base, and everything around here is NAVY NAVY NAVY! In fact I work for a contractor.
  17. I met them. Too bad I lost the paper I got the autographs on XD.
  18. Being on the Atlantic Coast, I'd have thought you'd understand. :( Good seafood is worth any drive. Dude I live right next to teh Chesapeake Bay. Everybody that lives here is like "OMFG TEH BEST CRABS IN TEH UNIVARSE," as is everybody I know who bothers to come down here. And then there are stupid kids that are like "OMFG HOLLISTER CALIFORNIA IS TEH GREAT AND HERE R TEH SUX, LIVING IN MY TWICE-REFI'D HOUSE AND GETTING WHATEVER I WANT WITHOUT A JOB IS SO TERRIBLE. I'D RATHER LIVE AN MTV LIFE WHICH IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE AT MY INCOME LEVEL." Screw them XD.
  19. My parents see it fit to drive 45 minutes to a marina for seafood, which is obtainable 10 minutes away, maximum. Waste of my time, I think, but whatever.
  20. I notice that many people only say "Bless you" when somebody sneezes to their friends and nobody else. Or how people only hold doors for friends, or only act polite or hospitable at all to their good acquaintances. It makes me wonder how they made any in the first place. Or how kids are racist. For instance, I have curly hair, like billions of other people on the planet earth, but somehow since South Park has taken hold of our society I am therefore automatically Jewish, and this is somehow funny. Or how someone of Mexican heritage is a "spic" and must work in construction. That type of prejudice angers me quite a bit.
  21. Wow, thats, that's quite a compliment. Thank you : As for "nice guys finish last". I will go into this is a segment of the last, June 16th, thread. I promise you won't be disappointed. Heh, from what I gather that applies until you reach the age of 25 or so and people start wising up XD.
  22. Yeah, but how do you approach someone like that? Srsly. She doesn't know me well at all, so I suppose that's good, but we've known of each other for... 7 years now? But only as people in periphery, not like best friends forever or anything like that. Plus I think I've changed considerably from the 4th grade XD.
  23. I don't really assign names to my feelings because words cannot adequately describe them, because they're internal gut kinda sensations. For instance, if you have read a few of my angst-ridden posts, you know there's this girl that I've liked very much for quite some time because she is a) very beautiful and B) the nicest, most understanding person I've ever met in my entire life. Problem is that although I can hold a steady conversation with her and we share some common interests, I never seem to truly hit it off with her, and she ends up paying attention more and being slightly flirtatious with the absolute idiot freshman on my bus and such, despite the fact they cross the line now and then by making sexual jokes about her, leading to her ignoring them for the duration of the ride. What really makes me have this particular feeling is that she a) hasn't gone out with anybody, ever, and B) that despite how nice she is she seems to pay more attention to absolute arseholes than me, and I have no idea how to approach her, given her standing - all her friends are "in," and I'm kinda not (but by no means an outcast XD). Somebody I know who talks to her more than I keeps telling me "oh she doesn't have time for boys," but my observations think otherwise. So basically it's a matter of me wondering what is really going on in her head and a terrible realization that I will really never ever be able to say anything to her about how I feel, tempered by a glimmer of hope that maybe one day things will magically work themselves out. If I had to assign this feeling a name, I would call it "awfully desperate confused kid syndrome." Too bad nobody can wait forever.
  24. Find some sort of validation - your reason to live. Like get a hobby that you really like and give it your all. Or have a child. Or do SOMETHING with your life that you've always wanted to do. You'll regret it later if you don't, because you'll die eventually. You're obviously not content where you are now, so try to fix it.
  25. Cork it. Seriously. Some of us suburbanite children have it worse than you. My parents essentially think I'm a failure and are totally out of perspective with everything. The last girlfriend I had was over a year ago, and she accused me of grabbing her and was generally just a bipolar b*tch. The girl I've "loved" or whatever you skeptics would prefer to say for 2 years now hasn't gone out with anybody but pays more attention to extreme jerks. I'm borderline overweight. I have acne. I have 3 good friends. I just had to buy an $800 laptop because I "blew out the speakers." The guitar I want is out of stock until July. Oh boo hoo. That's some real tough stuff for you bud, but I'm sure all of us could go on whining about stuff. It'd be best for you to suck it up and keep faith.
