Listening to songs in a foreign language

Featured Replies

I'm just wondering, how many of you guys are into songs made by foreign artists/bands?

To me, it's not about the lyrics. I don't care if I don't have a flippin' clue what the song is saying or what it's about. It's the whole rhythm that really matters.

I've got a playlist with around 1gb of songs in a different language :XD: My brother got me into french hip-hop recently. To be honest, they sound just as good as any other.

Anyone wanna share their thoughts?

Ultra Unholy,

Hearted Machine...

This would be better in some other boards, but we got so many people here who aren't from english speaking countries ;) For them most of the music is foreign.

I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.

I have no idea what Rammstein songs are saying, but I still like them. Some Ill Nino songs are in spanish/partly in spanish, and I enjoy them too.

It really has

Isn't that a Megadeth song? Haha.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

Yes, I do.

A lot of good metal bands don't speak english so I tend to have a lot of finish/noweigien (sp?) and italian bands.

Indeed it is.

Me doing staff.

I really don't mind foreign language (most of it is foreign to me anyway :P). Sometimes it actually adds to the music (Haggard, Therion, etc.).

Yeah I do.

I listen to German artist occasionally only to improve my German skills. Though the problem is finding good German artist I like. **Looks at Viktors post** >> Well I'll see what Nena are like then. :)

Not much really, I think it starts and stops with Richard Bona.

Yeah, Rammstein is my fave foreign band. I have no clue what they're saying, but that doesn't matter.

I quite like Manau as well... French R&B.

Lacuna Coil are awesome... although they sing most of their stuff in English, she is Italian. Same with Rasmus who are Swedish I think, but then again, most of their stuff is in English.

Molotov is one of my favourite bands and they're from mexico so most of their lyrics are in Spanish (though there is often a mix of English and Spanish).

I love some foreign music, although I prefere it to be in English. Metal I can listen to it in whatever though, the growling and some screaming can't be comprehended regardless of language.

Lyrics are too important to me. I don't know any other languages, so I can't understand anything other than English.
