Napoleonic Hegemony
Since money carries over, and research is also weighted in years....its not quite as clever as you might think to hoard your cash.

Simplest Game Ever
You know... Playing NetHack would probably be a lot easier...and offer much the same standard of play. Isometric Version

Napoleonic Hegemony
I quite like the reset every 10 days. It prevents people from burning through their money, then burning through some more money...and so on and so forth until, like Dusty says, there are silly huge armies. Added to that I still have a pretty healthy budget, so I am fine.

Falador Library-NEW POLL
I think that is what basically is gonna happen, since Rusco will become active again, at least over the next week or so....So even if it begins fading again after that the Library and Rusco will have three months or so to recover before it has 'died' again.

Temporary Dungeoneering
Yeah, that was worthwhile. I buy a sack to lug around all the bread and meat. I then head out into the forest, wander through the undergrowth for a few hours, then begins building a wattle fence. I will just build it, and then combine that into a house, over the next few days, since I seem to be on at a different time to you.

Indeed: So edel is half right, it is typically(at least in the circles most of us usually travel in(I guess, though I have come across it used in the other sense thanks to being friends with people, and visiting the Witchcraft Museam in Cornwall)) we would only come across magick when refering something like a Harry Potter book. However, for other people it could be an attempt to distinguish one's abilities from that of the stage magician...by attempting to force them to use the traditional spelling you are thus degrading their personal beliefs, unintentionally no doubt, but degrading them none the less. In summery, be careful when making assumptions about people's use of language.

More than one person can have a skill....Its not like Dungeoneering has a single party that roams around...In fact more than one Herbologist seems pretty sensible.

Temporary Dungeoneering
Its when he usually gets on, I have found. Sides, I get up a between 11 pm and 2 am and go to sleep around 5 pm, I assume Ross/Ico have similar sleeping patterns since they are/were regularly on during the night...So strange sleeping patterns are not uncommon on the tavern

About 8 hours time by my watch.

Temporary Dungeoneering
Archi gets some bread/meat/letuce from a street vendor/grocer. He buys 2 coins worth of supplies. He then looks for a shop that sells sleep rolls/tents and enquires as to their price. If they are 3 coins or less he buys them. If they total more than 3 coins, but one is under 3 coins then he just buys the one. If they are both under 3 coins then he buys the sleep roll first. He then looks for an apothecary, offering his services as a roving herb collector, wondering if there are any herbs that the apothecary needs. If he has any residual cash he buys some Hemlock/Deadly Nightshade or Snake Venom.

Falador Library-NEW POLL
IF something has to be merged into something else then Rusco should be merged into one thread, the infomation threads deleted/merged as relevant, and then added to the Library...Since Rusco was an experiment which we reworked several times and never quite got right. From it the conclusions drawn are that the Dungeoneering system works best, with one moderator with total control, except for people like me and Dusty who prefer to have some/most of the control in a given situation. For those types of people moderating games or Hegemony type games seem best....although if a group of them was got to together it is possible that one of the Rusco systems would work, though the probability of arguement seems quite high.

Temporary Dungeoneering
Good, I make a mental note of where the ant hill is and try to work out what kind of ants they are. Then I head to the town and wait.
-
Temporary Dungeoneering
Archi leaves instructions with God to head to the village and wait there while Archi(me) sleeps.
-
Temporary Dungeoneering
Archi travels a short way closer to the village and searches again, this time also looking for any edible bugs.
-
Temporary Dungeoneering
I search for useful herbs while I wait for Nex.
-
Temporary Dungeoneering
The bear makes it difficult to use the road. So I cut across country.
-
Temporary Dungeoneering
Good. Working with Nex I cut across country, keeping a mindful eye out for herbs and such. Once we figure we have bypassed the bear we carry on to the town. While walking I talk to Nex, making general small talk.
-
Temporary Dungeoneering
Common sense says back away along the path I came(thus avoiding twigs and such) at normal walking speed if she hasn't seen me. If she has I check to see what type of sickle I have and back away at a moderately slower speed.
-
Temporary Dungeoneering
I assume I know the way to the nearest town, so I head whichever way gets me there fastest....attempting to avoid the fire of death.

Temporary Dungeoneering
Nex: The bear eats your face.
-
Temporary Dungeoneering
I choose to exchange my weapon for a pair of spectacles, a herb bag and a 12 gague sickle. Alternatively I take a silver sickle, blessed if possible.
-
Temporary Dungeoneering
I check for any useful herbs.
-
Temporary Dungeoneering
On an entirely urelated note, I head to the nearest town. Username: Archi Character name: Archi Description: Looks like an Apothecary. History: Was the village doctor/shaman/person in charge of the herbs. Unique quality: Herblore element. Herblore element = Knowladge of plants and herbs, as well as the knowladge to mix, combine and make potions.

I think tradition is that if you are away you can assign your character to someone else and it is up to them to play your character as well as theirs.

Falador Library-NEW POLL
Good to know. Though I would say that things are often kept seperate for a reason. The Library is a quiet place to craft a post over a number of days, where as the Tavern is more quickfire. Also the Tavern is competitive, you only need to look at Hegemony or Dungeoneering to realise that....In dungeoneering we didn't even go one day without the group exploding and burning down a nearby inn... If you compare that to Rusco you would find stark differences. But that was why the Library was set up, to get away from the people who went 'Har I have killed another player'...and since moderators and mods now both lack the ability to kick someone out of games, as it is total barbarism, according to the admin, the only real hope for a peaceful story to survive is to go undetected by those who wish to destroy. So restarting Alanmark or Rusco in the Tavern would be an impossibility...since just anyone could appear out of nowhere and kill another player, then, if anyone complained, the mod would be powerless to stop them as they could just report the mod for barbarism and thus force the mod to accept the situation.... And since the Admin and Moderators are entirely unbiased in these affairs it would be impossible for them to make a judgement as to what was reasonable and what was unreasonable...indeed the only function that any decent and/or proper admin/moderator could do in that situation would be side with the person who made the complaint as the mod would clearly be flaming or making a personal attack on the player...since it is the player's choice how they play, and no one can force them to play in a different way because that is who they are...and forcing them out is only going to engender hostility and potentially more flame...thus, for the sakes of the forum, the admin MUST side with the complainer, regardless of circumstances. Thus Falador Library is a total neccessity, a vital redoubt for the calm and cool roleplayer. One which I intend to use to the fullest advantage
