  1. 3 left halves (shadow warriors, cyclopes, aberrant specters) 1 d med (black demons) Tzhaars: 1 Staff 9 Knives 10 Swords 12 Mauls 12 Shields 23 Capes 434 Throwing Rings
  2. Am I the only one who sees a Dragon Mace spec in the pic? How do you know that hit was even yours? More pics please...
  3. Sweet thanks for the info. I was hoping fire giants would drop rune bolts like they do rune arrows though lol :\
  4. Anyone know what monsters drop bolts? I know guards drop iron bolts, they also drop iron arrows. I'm hoping the same monsters that drop rune arrows will drop rune bolts as well, like fire giants and dust devils.
  5. The spells that affect other players can only be cast in multi combat wildy. No, actually all the spells can be cast outside of wilderness, and in single combat area. I've shared super pots with people in banks before. For the record though, heal other only works when the other player isn't in combat.

  7. The spells are awesome. I bet most of you guys posting that they are flops have never cast some of the higher lvl ones, like heal other, heal all, or even vengeance. The graphics alone for most of the spells is worth the runes to cast them in my opinion. The vengeance spell is a huge skull which eats you for example. The energy transfer one transfers not just your run energy to the other person, but if you have a full special bar, it transfers your entire SPECIAL ATTACK bar to them as well. It's the first thing in RS which restores special bar. If you have like 3 or 4 Lunar mages with like a maxed out player on the offensive in their team, theoretically the maxed out player could have 5 full special bars worth of special attacks, he could completely dominate anyone. The heal other spell is awesome but at the same time it can be kind of scary. If someone is missing 74 hitpoints, and I heal them with my hitpoints full (lvl 99 hits), I get hit for a 74, and they get healed completely. Me and this 124 were casting it on eachother for like 40 seconds back and forth. I would heal him and I would lose 66 hp, he would heal me and he would lose 66 hp, then I would heal him again and so on lol, was fun, and pretty good xp. You don't need to worry about dying though, as it only restores UP to 75 percent of your current hitpoints. So if you have currently have 40 hitpoints, and someone is missing 40, you won't die, you will heal 30 hitpoints and have 10 left. The NPC communication spell is also one of the most useful spells I've ever used (aside from high-alch I guess...). I can do a task of jellies or something and not move an inch, get a new task, and if I'm assigned like kurasks or something, I can just walk on over and do the task, without ever leaving the slayer cave. You can talk to Advisor Grihm from Miscellania and recover the resources your citizens have collected as well. The spell communicates with all of the slayer masters, the sand bucket guy in Yanille, Advisor Grihm, even Honest Jimmy, which if I remember right is the guy who you trade Pieces of Eight with for the Trouble Brewing rewards. You can also talk to Lanthus who is the man at CWars, you can ask him how long till the next game and how many people are in each room waiting for a game. Another cool thing about the Lunar spells: when making Astral runes, you can teleport back to the Moonclan village using the Moonclan Teleport to make the trips even faster. To make it even better, you can use the Group Moonclan Teleport for better xp, and it will teleport anyone within 1 space of you back to the village, giving them a free ride. The group spell only takes 2 more earth runes than the solo teleport, so your lava\earth staff would cover the extra earths anyway. I think these spells are very useful, but Jagex did a good job of balancing them with the others. Now we have 3 different magic styles to use: Offensive (Ancient), Defensive (Lunar), and then a balance of the two is the conventional magics. These have their uses in combat, but you will have to be a powerful mage (90+) for them to truly be useful in wilderness or castlewars or something. Even then though, you won't be dealing any damage using them except with Vengeance, which can only be cast every 30 seconds to avoid another Charge incident where people were casting it continuously for insane XP. Thumbs up from me :P
  8. I never got that minigame working. For some reason the people in town never mentioned anything at all about wanting to go to the salve temple or wanting me to lead them anywhere. Was quite lame.
  9. 15 Rune and 1 Black. After the first rune defender, the drop for another is like 10x more likely. I got 9 in less than an hour, whereas it took me 3 hours from addy defender to get the first rune one.
  10. Oh holy jesus, I haven't heard this in years. Yeah this theme was money. Bring it back pl0x.
  11. Haha. Gotta love untimely wp messages :P. That's just sad.
  12. Nah it serves no purpose. It was added with the wilderness graphics updates a couple months ago.
  13. Very nice guide. I'm only 76 slayer but I was 73 about 4 days ago. I've recently gotten back into slayer and it seems my luck has gotten 10x better since the last time around but I have to disagree with your opinions of black demons. I always get at least two rune chains per task of 150+ of them. They definitely give good loot, easily enough to pay for using Guthans on them. I even got my very first drag drop (med) other than my left halves from them too. I was so excited even though they're like barely worth an obby shield these days lol :\. Suggestions for you though (choose to listen or not, I'm not the 99 slayer): - a list of monsters best suited for using Black Mask on would be very helpful. - a list of which monsters to fight for most xp per task instead of raw xp per hour (i.e. killing kalphite guardians instead of kalphite soldiers). - a list of which monsters to fight for best loot per task instead of xp per hour. - I've found the black dragons at the evil chicken's lair are far better than the one's in Taverley because they're closer to a bank, no one is ever there, and they aren't aggressive. There is a range\hally spot there as well that works very nicely. If you consider revising or whatever, just send me a pm and i'll send you the safespot pic. On a crowded world, the single baby black drag in the evil chicken's lair would probably make quick work of a black dragon task as well. - I've also found that the lvl 80 skeles on a pretty empty world are very nice for skeleton tasks. They're the ones in that invisible dungeon for Desert Treasure. With a Black Mask and Salve Ammy, you get a 30 percent bonus to str and att :3>. Place also seems closer to a bank than the ones on karamja.
  14. RS isn't free and you can download the client which runs by itself instead of through the internet window, but I know what you mean; neither are required to play it.
  15. They can only be killed two at a time at most. People who so-called "solo" Dagganoth Kings use their limited range of sight to their advantage to keep all 3 from fighting them at once... that's NOT "soloing" the Dagganoth Kings. No one can solo all 3 at once. Anyway, IMO the reason RS doesn't have megaboss monsters like in other games is that they simply haven't gotten around to it. IF there ever will be a monster that powerful in RS, its drop would be more than some crappy dragon armor, and Jagex hasn't even finished the dragon equipment sets yet (not even talking about plate, kite, and helm ). I'm not suggesting like some noobish "god" set, but like an equivalent of the fire cape, only more powerful and for use in some other armor slot. On the other hand... Jagex has always been the type of company that wants people to play their game but not get addicted... they even say in the manual to take 30 minute breaks every couple hours. Message of the week also promotes going outside (*gasp* sunlight). I highly doubt Jagex would ever add a monster that requires like 6 hours to kill. The longest required amount of time on RS that Jagex ever introduced was about 2 to 2 and a half hours when Fight Caves first came out, but that was later changed so you could take breaks between waves. I don't think Jagex wishes to be responsible for killing its best players because of bladder ruptures and dehydration. Furthermore, what the hell would be the point of adding a monster that gigantic. It would be a waste, where's the fun in fighting a giant pair of talons\feet\paws? I'm willing to wager a fair amount that Jagex will never introduce a "boss" monster larger than the Tztok-jad. The jad can only be seen in its entirety from at least 3 spaces away, which is ridiculously huge. It's about 3x the size of the KQ. I just don't see a need to go any bigger unless they add like a zoom in\zoom out feature to RS. I also agree with what others have said about RS players all being generally the same. RS doesn't technically have classes that have different bonuses and advantages that help them contribute to the fight. 10 lvl 100's on RS is basically just one lvl 1000. In some other game, it might be like a lvl 500 mage\healer\enchanter\summoner thing if the forces of a group of 10 lvl 100's are combined. Players on RS can be the best of everything, so most things in RS are fairly easy to beat when you're maxed out compared to being maxed out in some other game because in the other game you can only be maxed out in like prayer for instance. Then someone else fighting would be maxed out in melee, then someone else would be maxed out in magic, and so on. In RS you get all that in one, making fights immensely easier even without protection prayers. Lastly, one reason Jagex probably hasn't released such a monster is because of the extremely prevalent population of whiners in RS. If Jagex released some super powerful monster that only a group of a dozen or more 120+ could take down, everyone else would start complaining about how Jagex doesn't care about the low lvls and how it's not fair and blah blah blah. We've all seen how Jagex reacts to whiners... holiday drops becoming nontradable, getting breaks between waves at Fight Caves, rushed updates because of impatient noobs, etc. Jagex could probably just be playing it safe by sticking to the usual monsters.
  16. 1) Hazeel 2) Tztok-Jad (from RS Manual) 3) Skeletal Wyverns 4) Black Demons 5) Gargoyles (so much fun :P)
  17. Me. Got it October 10-25th, 2005 (somewhere in there :P) \ EDIT: Just confirmed using some old chat logs, I got the cape on October 11th, 2005.
  18. Ok first off... who the hell ever said jagex never does rollbacks?... hmm?? Because they DO! And it does NOT reset to the last update . Awhile ago world 66 crashed but the server never logged out the accounts. Everyone's account was trapped on the world for several hours, probably all of them dying over and over from randoms in falador and lumbridge. When the server came back online, Jagex rolled back everyone's account ON THAT WORLD!!! They don't have to roll back all of rs . Secondly... why wouldn't Jagex rollback? The guy's an idiot.. he bug abused, those people deserve their items back. It wouldn't be that difficult to roll back everyone on that world.
  19. Actually gen store price is 24k, high alch is 36k. gotten from !alch command on chat And what do you suppose the high alch of an obby cape is? rofl. It's 36k... just like fire cape  but it goes off gen store price, and rune pl8 and legs have higher gen store price the fire cape General store price and High alch are directly proportional to eachother... it could go off either, but it doesn't matter which. And as I said, "MOST" rune. I didn't say it protects over plate and legs... sheesh.
  20. Actually gen store price is 24k, high alch is 36k. gotten from !alch command on chat And what do you suppose the high alch of an obby cape is? rofl. It's 36k... just like fire cape . So as I said before... It's worth the same as obby cape so will therefore protect over most rune.
  21. Similar thing happened when Castlewars first came out. You could range through the fortress walls at people in the bank and kill them. Everyone who used that bug was banned. There is no reason at all why this guy should be let go. He has no sense of responsibility or compassion for those he killed. Say what you will, but rs takes a lot of time and losing a big chunk of your time because some punk kid thinks it's fun is wrong. He deserves to be banned permanently.
  22. Kid is an idiot and so is the author of that interview. "Anyone woulda done the exact same thing in your shoes..." omg what are you [developmentally delayed]ed? People have what's called COMMON SENSE!!! What did he think would happen? He'd go scott free with no penalty? GOOD RIDDANCE. I hope he NEVER plays runescape again.
  23. Yeah it definitely stays there the couple minutes before it disappears. I dropped mine to see what it looked like on the ground lol. Oh and for future reference, its worth the same as obby cape, so it will protect over most rune.
  24. Just cause it was in some obscure movie, doesn't mean its a joke or a reference to it... chafing + handcuffs is by no means a rare combination... Bet it's part of the next quest in this series or something.
  25. Well, congrats on finishing the hidden quest, but you haven't really told me anything new. Stats on both items would be GREATLY appreciated :)
