:: Pyramid Plunder Guide - Fastest Experience ::
Headnazgul replied to Dork's topic in General Guides
Yes... I came across that too. Quite a strange glitch considering Jagex didn't update the pyramid. The severity of the glitch will most likely result in a ban though if Jagex discovers you abusing it. -

Never bothered to raise the approval rating back up except for about mid-way and the last 3 days. Most likely 2 to 3 weeks. -
am i the only one thinking...bleh....?
Headnazgul replied to pompey_spud's topic in General Discussion
Jagex probably only has about 20 people working updates. A huge majority of the staff is with customer support to answer the queries people send in. If you go to their company site you can see a list of employees. It's also on the RuneScape Homepage somewhere but you will see there really isn't that many people working on new content. -
Prayer Drain has increased. ((Update)) Need Tester!!! @@
Headnazgul replied to deangut's topic in General Discussion
I have noticed no difference myself but if you think it has increased then you're probably experiencing a glitch. If it was truly changed then I'm sure the people who denied experiencing a change would have honestly seen a difference. But it appears its affecting some people and not others... so it must be a glitch. -

They work on projects months in advance. This quest was written ages ago. What they were busy doing this week had nothing to do with updates this week or probably even this month. They didn't say they were upgrading the engine specifically for this update. They were upgrading it for future updates that will come much later most likely. So as for your question, no, I'm not really disappointed. New prayer armor \ -
20 September 2006 - Slug Menace - Rough Quest Guide Now Up!!
Headnazgul replied to Taito2004's topic in General Discussion
I'm not much of a slayer, only lvl 77, but looking through the manual, the only difference I could see was the removal of Wall Beasts, Banshees, Cave Crawlers, Desert Lizards, Lesser Demons, and Trolls from Duradel's list. I don't remember him assigning a few of those but I'm just going off of Axe Man Jack's slayer guide. While removing those from Duradel's list, they added these: Ankous, Dagganoths, Blue Dragons, Goraks, Hell Hounds, and Mutated Zygomites. I'm surprised they didn't add Skeletal Wyverns to that list though. Apparently they aren't strong enough to be assigned by Duradel  Personally this sounds great. Dagganoths and Ankous are excellent slayer xp so the addition of them to the list gets a "woot!" from me. -
Yes.... it's a TOTAL of 30kb for the signature.

I've had max quest points for probably around 2 years. Which includes Tears of Guthix' release. I dunno if I'm just crazy or what but I do feel like I get way more time these days in the cave than when I did at its release. I'm not sure but I think it increases with the more quest points you have, without a limit.

RuneScape 101 (Parents' Guide) - updated map!
Headnazgul replied to Jard_Y_Dooku's topic in General Discussion
No, they haven't, it's still there. Your brower is probably loading the page from its cache. Just refresh it or clear your cache and the new map will be there. As for Jagex expanding the map though, hopefully it will be soon. But they kinda walked themselves into a corner when they did the Kharidian Desert. I can't imagine a desert suddenly ending and there being a striving city south of it or something. They will probably have to keep adding more and more desert related updates to complete that area, which will get kinda repetitive :\. The place is already packed with quests and such. -
I know, but what I am saying is the difference is greater now. It used be close enough where you could sacrifice a little prayer bonus for a lot of defense bonus which is why people generally liked Verac's. But now you have to choose whether you want a lot higher prayer bonus or a lot higher defense bonuses. It's more balanced imo.

Meleeing Iron\Steel Dragons (Aug2006)(AoW)
Headnazgul replied to Headnazgul's topic in General Guides
I highly recommend skipping them. They aren't worth your time or your money. That room is crawling with wild dogs so it's a pain just trying to attack a dragon. Their drops are pathetic aside from the very rare dragon legs\skirts they can drop. But their drop rate for them is insanely less than Iron and Steel Dragons. If you're intent on killing them though just use prayer and melee with the basic setup I layed out for Irons and Steels. Yeah as soon as my friend gets home we're doing the quest. Then I'll make modifications to the setups in order to accomodate the new armor. EDIT: Guide has been updated with the new Proselyte armor. Fancy stoof. Nice defense, nice prayer bonus, but almost identical to initiate. Enjoy this new addition. -
ummmm, that is garbage next to veracs. so i dont think this will revolutionize killing the queen, dag kings, metal drags, or even angry skeletons  It's not only higher than Verac's prayer bonus but it's higher than literally every other piece of head, chest, and leg armor\robes in RuneScape. Not revolutionizing? Anywhere anyone in RuneScape uses prayer robes or initiate will now more than likely be using this armor if they have completed the quest. Initiate has been rendered useless and Verac's has lost a slight edge over the other prayer armors. Yes, it has great defense bonuses, but the only places anyone really uses Verac's defense bonuses is at Kalphite Queen, Duel Arena, and Fight Pits. I fight Steel Dragons all the time and I personally find this an excellent addition to npc fighting.

If you're anything like me and you despise mining I'd go for the coal. You can always just buy some ores later and not worry about buying coal, which is annoying. Flax is very easy to get by yourself in Lletya so that's a no no. The herbs are decent I guess but imo there isn't enough to make it worth the time, though if you sold them you would make a pretty penny. -

It doesn't say "armour" it says "items". I suspect easier ways to raise crafting will soon arrive :P -
:: Pyramid Plunder Guide - Fastest Experience ::
Headnazgul replied to Dork's topic in General Guides
And the direction I check the doors depends on the room. Whichever door is closest to me I start there and work my way around until I hit the right one. Now that I think about it though I do recall seeing your guide on rs forums. The xp table of the objects surprised me quite a bit :-s -

Pretty good guide. The Tallest1 was gonna make a guide for this soon but looks like you beat him to it. At least yours isn't bad, but I have some suggestions. --A table of the experience gained from each task. Searching urns, doors, chests, sarcaphogi, etc. --Diagrams showing the order in which to check the doors in each room to achieve the quickest path. I know it's random but going from a door on one side of the room to the door on the other side is highly inefficient and if someone hasn't memorized where the other doors are, it can suck up a lot of time going back and forth. It's also probably worth mentioning that if you are being attacked by Scarabs, you can't open a sarcaphogus. So if you wanna check the last one, it's a good idea to check that sarcaphogus first, then the center chest. Lastly, the scepter's price tag just depends on how much people are willing to pay for it. I've had several people offer 1.4m for mine, and then some offer 500k. I even saw a player mod attempting to buy one for 50k on world 2 . Seems to vary greatly. It's hard to say exactly how rare or common it is though... like Esper, I've known many people who trained there for ages without ever receiving one, when I got two of them in two trips, from the same chest no less. Though I was doing it for the scepters and not the xp, so I checked all the center chests going through it. I'm curious though, you said, "You can just search before checking for snakes in this room, and still get the same amount of xp, but by not checking the chance of failing is increased, which means you'll lose more hp, and take around the same time anyway." But then earlier you said to check for snakes in the room prior to your maximum but not loot them, why is that? If you get the same experience without checking for snakes, then why bother? Or did you mean overall experience is the same, but food usage is higher if you don't check? That's all I can really think of atm unless you want my .gif of the Pharoah's Scepter teleport. I'm sure Tallest will have some other stuff to contribute when he gets around to it. -
The lesser champion uses Magic... binding it wouldn't help. Just bring a pray pot or 2 and a bunch of fire blasts\fire waves with some sharks and you'll be fine.

Meleeing Iron\Steel Dragons (Aug2006)(AoW)
Headnazgul replied to Headnazgul's topic in General Guides
Considering I already tried bringing alch runes, as per request on the first page, I found it obscenely annoying. I wouldn't recommend doing it. They take up space which could be used for more useful things. As for Pikemaster25, your stats would do pretty well against Iron Dragons but I wouldn't recommend Steels. Good luck. -
Sailfish are very similar to swordfish in real life. The only major difference is that sailfish have a massive dorsal fin that's like a fan. They are supposed to be one of the fastest fish in the world. They're generally the same size as swordfish so I don't see why Jagex would add them; if anything they would heal the same amount.

whats the rarest item which isn't a rare???
Headnazgul replied to mrmyk's topic in General Discussion
I still think Green Dhide (T) Legs and Studded (T) Legs are rarer, if JaGeX has released them. I have reasons to believe that they haven't now  . Thieve HAM members for clues, you'll get the studded pair eventually. I had the dhide (t) legs from a few clues when they were released as well. They aren't that rare, just everyone hates them so they get alched instead of sold. -
whats the rarest item which isn't a rare???
Headnazgul replied to mrmyk's topic in General Discussion
"Rare" according to Jagex means any item that is discontinued. As the toy sailboat is discontinued, I wouldn't count it. Black spears, although uncommon, are very easy to obtain, which is also why I wouldn't count poisoned low level spears and daggers either. They're just not around, but in a heartbeat you can make a ton of them. Anyway, rares that aren't discontinued are my specialty. They're my favorite item in Runescape, and as such, I've collected quite a few over the years... I would have the 3rd form of the Progress Hat, but for some reason when I reached the necessary amounts for it, it never changed, and I won't be trying that again... I'm not even sure if it still exists as it's not mentioned in the manual. If it still exists though I'm willing to bet that is the rarest of the non-rare items in Runescape. I've never seen one, not once. If the 3rd stage Progress Hat no longer exists then I bet the rarest item is the Port Phasmatys pirate flag from Trouble Brewing. It's 6000 pieces of eight and that game is hard to bare for most people, that is if you can even find a world busy enough to play it. -
Void Knights Are Guthix Followers... Or Are They?
Headnazgul replied to Headnazgul's topic in General Discussion
Ahem... if you didn't notice, it was ME who created this thread, it was ME who said "I am indeed a follower of Zaros." I know more about RS lore than most. I am well aware of the existence of the other gods. But you assume the Void Knights are similar to the Temple Knights because they are working for Saradomin... but nowhere does it say that these creatures coming through the portals are "evil". They just say they're breaking through to our realm and they need to be stopped. As I said in the first post, it doesn't say anywhere who is sending the creatures, so for all you know, they could be minions of Saradomin, and Void Knights are actually minions of Zamorak trying to defeat them... -
As I said... strictly a graphics update:
-
Jagex assured everyone it was strictly a graphic update. They didn't change anything else about the monsters. You can't expect to consistently do well against any monster though, it's just how it works. One day you will be hitting 30+ every time, the next, you will be getting owned so badly you're being shown pieces of yourself. Just suck it up and go for it.
-
lol can't believe some people think this is real... it's a an edited animation... purely fiction people.
