  1. Aww sad. Oh well, at least it's a new maximum weight. Anchor > shield + weapon. EDIT: How did he get 1017? :-s. Is his inventory\equipment pic up anywhere?
  2. Sorry to bump such an old post, but Manoman, you can reach your goal now of 1000+ kg. 28*32 kg = 896 kg (28 coal tar) 1*32 kg = 32 kg (gold helmet) 1*22 kg = 23 kg (granite plate) 1*16 kg = 16 kg (granite legs) 1*30 kg = 30 kg (barrelchest anchor) 1*5 kg = 5 kg (ava's accumulator) 1*1 kg = 1 kg (rune boots) 1*4 kg = 4 kg (seal of passage) *doesn't include gloves, ammo, or ring* Total = 1007 kg *cookie for me* :D
  3. Only because back then people didn't understand the subtleties which can greatly affect your experience per hour. When people started catching on that a bunch of high levels is better than a bunch of high levels plus a bunch of low levels, world 78 kinda died.
  4. The reason low levels are bad (which no one here has explained yet...) is because the more people in the game, the more monsters there are. If you have 10 people there, one being lvl 123 and 9 being lvl 80, you can be sure they will get far less experience per hour than a group of 10 people all over lvl 100. It has nothing to do with the fact that lower levels don't know how to play, I'm sure they know it just as well as anyone else. It's simply the fact that they are far weaker than high levels which slows down the games, meaning you get fewer points per hour and less experience per hour accordingly. The only way pest control can be the best experience is winning FAST. Simply winning should be guaranteed given a good world. If you're losing, you're on a terrible world, and getting horrible experience. This is the main point behind PC clans. Keeping the low levels out ensures extremely fast games; sometimes under 30 seconds if you have a lot of experienced high levels. If you're on an "official" world such as 78, anyone can come and play, which means the low levels will greatly slow your experience. This is the main reason why an official world is a bad idea.

  6. Red chinchompas are faster at 80+. From 63 to 80 though red salamanders are probably best.
  7. Stronghold = place enclosing the Grand Tree. Grand tree = the giant tree itself, not the area. Tree Gnome Village = Tree Gnome Village, nothing more. Pic of the full set:
  8. 3 in 4 years, 2 of them in the same week. Shadow Warriors Aberrant Specters Cyclopes
  9. ^ has cutems bunnies in their sig and of course a family guy avatar <3
  10. Ankous are the best place to train for bloods and deaths, but that's only on p2p. I hear they don't even drop deaths on f2p, which means all you will be getting off them is some addy arrows. They're really good xp though, at least 60-70k an hour with a salve and mid 90s stats. I can understand why less people don't go there though. Most people don't know about the portals in that dungeon. They think they have to walk through the entire maze every time to get back to the Ankous. It's a pitty I didn't train here until AFTER I was maxed out >.>
  11. I don't get why everyone thinks they suck so badly... They're one of my favorite and most reliable range weapons. I can hit 25's with them at 99 range (pot + pray of course), and they're not slow at all like everyone says they are. Their range bonus is also even higher than magic shortbow. If you caught them all yourself, I don't see how they could be worse than any other range weapon.
  12. Mind showing your work? Sorry but that sounds way off. There's no way the new stuff added around 40 range attack bonus to the maximum.
  13. It's trimmed... if yours doesn't look like that, then yours isn't trimmed.
  14. 1000 here as well. The higher your range level the better scores you will get. So most people 70 or 80+ will have certainly scored a perfect game at some point.
  15. so is 3rd age F2P as well? it doesn't have the (m) next to it saying its members only except the mage 3rd age No. Third age items each have their own page so there's no need to differntiate them from f2p or p2p items. They are members only. The only reason the dragon items have the (m) next to them is because they're listed with other armors which happen to be f2p.
  16. Incorrect, barrow armor is still better than 3rd age armors. Though the margin is definitely smaller (perhaps small enough for some to consider barrow armor isnt actually worth the repair cost) However, there is no barrows shield. I should have worded better. This is the *shield* that offers the most protection (except range and mage) What about full crystal shield? Better than that as well (except range)?
  17. Tons of people have it, but not anyone who cares about showing the world it looks like it seems.
  18. The Cloaks themselves are +3 to all defense bonuses and +3 to prayer. I assume you were only talking about the Mitres when you listed those stats.
  19. Sorry to say, but I personally find this conclusion to be far from reality. I've been training hunter at Red Chinchompas and have recently amassed over 12,000 of them. When I reached 90 hunter I took a short break to test out some of the gear, including red chinchompas. I went into castlewars with about 500 and was extremely impressed with their performace. With 99 range, range potion, and range prayer, I was hitting 25's on people in barrows. They tear through practically everything and not only hit the target but anyone near them as well. My best string was 24 22 22 on a 124 ancient mage. Moreover, I found adjusting the fuse to be unnecessary, certainly not "required". I left it on short-fuse most of the time and switched to long-fuse when the target was out of range of the short-fuse and I had no problems hitting the target. They have an attack bonus higher than magic shortbow and with the added bonus from a zammy book, you get a total of 9 more range bonus than you do with magic shortbow. They're more accurate than even obsidian throwing rings, which I've long considered to be the ultimate ranged weapon because of their high damage, accuracy, and speed. I find red chinchompas to be equivalent if not better than obsidian rings.
  20. Anyway, moving away from what I personally train on... I'm kind of disappointed in Jagex for the higher lvl creatures in this skill. Up until Red Chinchompas, the experience gets better and better with the monsters. But then it suddenly drops a LOT when you hit Black Salamanders and Imps and such. They seem to be there more for their rewards\loot than experience. Black Salamanders are awesome weapons from what I've heard and Imps have proven invaluable to my training (I use them to bank my gems from random events \). All that still doesn't negate the fact that Black Salamanders are spread way too far apart to be considered decent experience, and Imps aren't catch and release. However, because of this fact, I think Jagex did realize how fast experience this skill would produce, otherwise they would've made the higher creatures better experience for training. I find it kind of intriguing though how when this skill first came out people were extremely upset about how crowded it was or how slow the experience was. But now it seems like it's been one of the fastest in ages, despite the crowds. I still think it's at a speed where it shouldn't be labeled as too fast though.
  21. I didn't get to where I am by lying Freshwacka. Before you go accusing people with unresearched claims, try getting 80 hunter and using 5 traps instead of 4. Chill out, sheesh. Since it no longer matters. The fact that you can only really hunt Red Salamanders with four traps vs 5 traps while hunting Red Chinchompas (which give almost the same xp), Red Chinchompas are MUCH faster experience than Red Salamanders.
  22. Hate to spoil your "gigantic secret", but everybody knows its red salamanders, thanks. Red salamanders don't come anywhere near 85k an hour.
  23. The "lack" of supplies needed for hunter is indeed a HUGE part of why it is so easy to train. My initial thought about the Hunter skill was that Jagex would nerf it the next week by making bait required instead of "recommended" (even though the use of it actually slows the experience currently). It seems to be the most logical way to make it slower experience without losing the practicality of the skill. I mean yeah... it is kinda silly that a creature would be attracted to a trap that hasn't been torched and has no bait in it, but hey, it's Runescape we're talking about here lol. Lots of stuff doesn't make any sense :P. It could be that jagex is testing us. They give us a super slow and debatably expensive skill (runecrafting), then a super slow but very cheap skill (slayer), then they give us a super fast but very expensive skill (construction), and finally throw us a super fast and virtually cost free skill (hunter). Perhaps they're calibrating the difficulty of the ultimate skill to come? :D. PS: 49th now
  24. The skill is only slightly faster than training any of your combat skills using pest control. If not even slower than PC experience. This morning I turned off everything but Runescape, put on some Lotr music (don't lie, you know it's great :P), and just sat there hunting. I used RuneScript to time my experience and at the end of 3 hours I averaged 85k hunting experience per hour. Now, I've tested this without turning everything off, and leaving mIRC, MSN, and Tip.It Forums open. Doing this I only get 65k hunting experience per hour because of the added distractions. If you played for 10 hours a day and weren't a very social person you could probably reach 95+ hunter in about 10 days, so imagine if you were playing rs for like... 15-18 hours a day. If you sleep for 6 hours a night for 10 days, don't have class, work, or other responsibilities, and assuming you were gettting 85k an hour, it's conceivable that you could get 99 within about a week. It just takes concentration and extreme dedication. Is that kind of dedication to a skill "easy"? NO! You'd have to either be rich, retired, or have very relaxed parents in order to play that much Runescape (not to mention robotic hands to avoid injury). On the other hand, I have work, classes, and various tasks for Tip.It that I do aside from playing Runescape and I'm still 89 hunter... ranked 51 at the moment. In that respect it seems like a really easy skill. But it could be because of the snow we've been getting around here (less work, less classes, etc). People will complain about pretty much everything though. It's best to stop listening to most of them. They will complain if it's too slow and they will complain if it's too fast. I myself love this fast experience and the skill is great fun. It's my new favorite. PS: Please DO NOT pm me asking where I train. I WILL give you a made up answer that will get you the worst experience imaginable.O:)
