  1. Right. I agree. This section is here for people to rants. However, I am not bashing them. Usually, I am simply stating something to make them look at it from a different perspective. If they think it looks bad or needs improved, perhaps they can look past the bad and see the good in whatever it may be. I understand that this person obviously is deeply hurt by the change of a chest's color, however, it is getting a little old seeing you constantly come in here and say that I can't speak my opinion on the subject. My opinion is different than their's that doesn't mean that I don't have an equal right to state my elation at their rant. Looking at things from a different perspective can lead to tolerance. Less ranting will lead to better blood pressure. Think of all the medicine bills I am saving these people. :P Sorry for the double post.
  2. Didn't mean to double post.
  3. Well, this is an interesting subject isn't it. My answer is going to be as wishy-washy as most politicians. Mage is great on many fronts. You can use it to slay, monster hunt, pk, teleport, and skill. You can use 3 different forms. Range however has the accumulator and so many improvements lately that it is merely more attractive to me. Crossbows plus shields make them appealing to dragon hunting. The gear looks better to me than the mage gear. Mage is still great and used more by me because of functionality purposes than range, but range has always one of my favorites. And I like the skill cape color of range better, but I like the Magic emote better. Hmmm. I should be president.
  4. I have yet to have any problems that I have deemed worthy of customer support, but I agree that it needs to be drastically improved. Now let me ask all of you a question, would it be worth an increase in your RS fee to have it improved? Myself, I would rather keep the same subscription fee and have improved content than an increased subscription fee for something that is so obscenely abused as the customer support system.
  5. Wow, someone is getting too nostalgic, RS1 has been gone for like what 4-5 years? Yes, the wilderness is different. Yes, Bounty Hunter is not the same as old pking (that is why I never go in there). Yes, Jagex has probably grown so much that Andrew and Paul probably don't have as much say as they used to. But, there is and always be more to Runescape than just Pking. Runescape is about community, skills, pking, questing, clans, mini games, and so much more. Oh, and I am not a kid. I am a grown adult that just happens to enjoy playing Runescape.
  6. I have never argued that the wilderness wasn't dratically changed. I am not even necessarily saying that the new system is better than the old (from a player standpoint if you ignore RWT). I am just saying you are talking of quitting the game without (at least it seems that way) looking at all the other things to do in the game. Expand your horizons, do bh anyway, or quit. I for one, would like to see everyone try to expand their horizons.
  7. Wow... a rant I actually somewhat agree with. I don't like having Jagex hold our hands on the price amounts. For the most part, I like the GE, but it does have it's downfalls. I don't like the ideas of lending too much, but it is a step in the right direction. I still would have this system over the old shouting in World 2, but it does need to be continuously improved. Eliminating Price limits in the GE would be great. Just keeping it person to person (to prevent RWT) would help. See, eatrunearrow, we can agree on something. =D>
  8. I don't agree. There are many things that I think Jagex could do better. I just don't think that removing scamming, bots, and RWT is one of the things that they should have left alone. Yes, your precious wilderness has been changed (not eliminated just changed), but there are many things that have been added or improved since then. Hello, summoning, you can have a BoB extend your slayer assignments. What? You want to sell a Guthan's Spear but don't want to stand in world 2 shouting Selling Guthan's spear on hundred times just to get some lvl 22 offer you 10 lobs and a button. Guess what there is the GE. What? You want to make money and still have a sense of excitement. Hello... you have GWD. What? Pking you want? Bounty Hunter and Clan wars are just a teleport away. What? Not sure what to do? You could quest or go for a skill cape. Not enough adventure for you? When was the last time you got a fire cape? Just saying, I love not having to worry about being attacked by some wretched no honor pker (many more without honor than with) while doing a clue. I love not having to shout what I am selling over and over again. I really love the Runescape that is here today. I am not a Jagex lover. I just enjoy the game that I choose to play. I understand your frustrations... I really do... I just don't think you are looking at the big picture.
  9. Actually, I don't think Sephiroth_king's post was distasteful or out of place. All of the comments are accurate and within the realm of the topic. I have been around Runescape off and on for nearly 4 years. Honor has always been a hit and miss thing. Many times you would have individuals or even whole clans who did not care about honor. That was a way of life 4 years ago, and it is a way of life now. Unfortunately, had honor been a theme throughout Runescape players then we probably would still have the wilderness (botting was dishonorable in my opinon). However the diversity of people in the world made honor a fantasy. Honor is a nice thought, but it is a choice just like everyone else.
  10. I have fun in Runescape. I do quests that I enjoy. I go blue dragon hunting in the ogre enclave. I invest and merchant on occassion. I train skills when I want. I log on every so often just to check my GE. I do regular farming runs. These are all things that I enjoy. I am just saying that one aspect of Runescape has been changed (not removed just changed) but there is still so much to do. Or you could always do what many people did....just stop playing. I enjoy most parts of the game. Admittedly Pking was not something that I enjoyed but warring was. I am just saying that there are other ways to make money, and there are other ways to satisfy your bloodlust.
  11. Exactly in the RS world that I have always known (will be 4 years in August), honor system had rarely been used. do you know how many times I was attacked while doing clues? More times than I could count. How about the number of times being attacked by someone while trying to hunt green dragons? Or the ruthless, Abyss killers. I realize that the wilderness was created to be dangerous, but unless you had a huge clan with you the wilderness was a place I stayed away from. Yes, you could say that I was an unskilled PKer, but as an opposite opinion to yours...there is more to runescape than killing another person. Open your eyes to the other possibilities...they are there. Remember that a wolf at the top of a mountain is no longer hungry, but the food is there. (paraphrased from Arnold Schwarzenegger from Pumping Iron)... not sure how this is applicable it just came to my mind.
  12. You can always lend it to them, or if you don't want it you could sell it. Really, not being able to give something away is what you have to complain about? I have some real complaints. My legs hurt. The economy here is going down the drain. I am dreading the upcoming election. My little girl has to go to the dentist tomorrow. I need to lose weight. I need to install a new dishwasher. My son has problems sleeping in his bed. My wife needs to finish her Master's degree. I need to start mine. Gas prices are killing me. These are all legitimate problems. You, my friend, don't really have a problem here. Sorry, but I don't agree. You are welcome to your own opinion though.
  13. Well, I can see both sides to this. If your sole purpose in RS was to pk, then I can see that the changes would make you not like the game. If you limited yourself in your moneymaking ways by only duelling, then I can see the trade restrictions as an inhibitor to your cash flow. However, can't you see some of the good that has come about it. We now have expanded carrying space in BoB. We can have added attack and exp power with summoning The GE has eliminated people standing in world 2 for hours trying to sell useless junk. Bounty Hunter, FoG, Castle Wars, Clan Wars, Duelling arena are all available if you have to kill another live person the option is there. You want money? There are limitless ways to increase your cash. You can hunt green dragons, merchant, invest, farm, mine (gold), runecraft, treasure trails. Oh, did I mention God Wars Dungeon? You simply stated one person's opinion when you said everything good about Runescape is gone. Begging was all but eliminated (before lending update this week). Bots have dwindled in numbers. Merchanting albeit somewhat scaled down is still a feasible practice. Pking is still there just different. Summoning can be awesome. GWD can be awesome. High Definition is definetly awesome. GE can be awesome Lending has potential. Monster Hunting can be awesome Slaying can be awesome. Runescape can still be awesome just different.
  14. Well, I was absolutely wrong. I did not see them changing Lumbridge and adding the bank in one update. Kudos to Jagex; they really seem to be trying this month.
  15. Agreed. I don't know why they didn't fix that when they did all the other updating. It is a bit of a pain, and with the skills smaller or even with the added space of full screen, there is no reason to have the scroll bar. But if that is all that we have to complain about; I guess we don't have it that bad.
  16. Well, I figure I would put my input in too, even though it is a bit of a repeat. Fishing to me is easier to do while watching TV or other things. Woodcutting has always been one of my least favorite skills right up there with firemaking. There will always be a need for food. Fishing is food. Logs are also necessary, but since it has been mentioned that it is profitable on f2p, I believe the long run profitability favors fishing. In conclusion, fishing is easier to do while multi-tasking, and overall is more profitable p2p. At least for my meager stats. :|
  17. This is what I am talking about. I didn't know we could trade pouches for charms. I haven't played since March. (That is what I meant by out of it for 3 months)
  18. Well, don't we pay for that cake. I am p2p, and since I am p2p I would like to eat the cake that I pay for. Now. Can someone point me in the right direction to turn my pouches into charms. I saw that somewhere in this thread. (I have been out of it for 3 months)
  19. Apparently, I am just old and internet illiterate. What does GF mean?
  20. What's wrong with buying skills? It's not like their money appeared out of thin air Or did it? How many people do you think still have ill begotten gains? I would dare say quite a few. Somebody tell me what an ill begotten gain is haha People who lured. I am sure there are still some active accounts that bought there gold. I am also sure that there are people who plain bought their accounts. Ofcourse, but come on. After these updates most of the big money makers quit the game ( I assume <_> ). Besides, how can you scam people now? How can you buy GP for rl cash now? How can you even lure, or stake for that matter? NOT Thats right, there is no real way of getting illgotten goods. And thus people who have lots of money should be entitled to a great xp per hour ratio. Poor people should not be kept aside of this skill. And wealthy players should not have to train this inmensly slow. I was simply disputing the money coming out of thin air. It is a possibility that the money that some people may use was received by illegal means. I have no problem with someone being able to buy the skill.
  21. You can refresh their time. Which means that they can stay for quite awhile.
  22. What's wrong with buying skills? It's not like their money appeared out of thin air Or did it? How many people do you think still have ill begotten gains? I would dare say quite a few. 23. That is good news. I am hoping that jogres continue to drop at a good rate as well. I need about 2k gold charms.
  24. Well, summoning a creature does little to boost your summoning experience. Making pouches seem to be the best way right now. I too am curious of where to sell the scrolls. I have a few thousand dreadfouls that I would like to get rid of. I should have paid better attention and kept them as pouches.
