  1. I hadn't heard any of those before....I think my favorite is: "fruit on the bottom, hope on top!"
  2. And he's cool besides being funny, too. Remember him throwin the lightsaber to Luke in Return of the Jedi? (or maybe it was in The Empire Strikes Back) And just in general, he knows exactly what to do. He was kinda lame in ep1 and 2, tho, another reason to not watch em I actually kinda liked Jar Jar, tell ya the truth. Not that I respected him or laughed with him, but I had fun laughin at him
  3. I'd say that scene pretty much knocks out the competition. There are also a bunch of good scenes in "Enemy at the Gates." It's a movie about a Russian Sniper in Stalingrad, 1942 or so, so you can imagine what kind of deaths you're goin to get. "let me show you where the general is..." 8)
  4. Not a huge fan (never even seen the movie  ), but I love Help, Paperback Writer, Here Comes the Sun, and of course Let it Be and Hey Jude
  5. No, not all movies are about acting, a part of a movie is about acting, other parts are dialogues, plot, special effects etc. You have different types of movies, where different things are more important. To give an example, in movies like Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Les Invasions Barbares, it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s more about acting, dialogue, and as you say the human elements. But in movies like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, that type of movies it's less important, action and special effects are of more importance there. Of course acting is important there too, but it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s more the action and the special effects that speak, instead of the actors. Fair enough. I guess it's just a question of taste, then, and I personally place more importance in good, believable human actors onscreen than a lot of star wars fans. I guess that means I like chick flicks or something. ......wait......maybe that's not the conclusion I was looking for..... seriously, though, I am looking forward to seein ep3 8)
  6. (Appendix I, part a. Found on Page 18, which is the 21st sheet of the document.) Hehe, owned. They are YELLOW. :P You can't possibly say this is green. I can't honestly say that that is what the tennis balls I use look like. All mine are green.
  7. Agreed. I held back in saying it because some may find it insulting if i were to say they listen to "pop". I'm insulted! I will fight you to the death! No, seriously, linkin park is totally pop. They just borrow styles from many different genres. This gives them a sound that's just too cool and interesting for people to believe they are pop. But I know the truth, and I listen to em anyway 8)
  8. Eager to see what you have to say here 8) All movies are about acting. No matter how good the special effects are (and they are good and we love them) there has to be a human element or we might as well just watch milkdrop make all those pretty colors over the star wars theme song. I did enjoy the special effects in Episode 1 and 2, not gonna lie. But the little dude in 1 tried to act and couldn't, while Hayden Christenson didn't even try in 2. "I don't like sand..." Also, the original star wars trilogy featured people who could actually act, and the movies were better for it. Can't deny that  Anyway, I'm still a star wars fan. I just hope that the good reviews are true so I won't have to suffer some lousy actor ruining a perfectly good piece of sci-fi brilliance.
  9. Why are they so "_REALLY_" bad? Everybody seems to be saying they're all so amazingly bad, but I havn't heard anybody saying WHY they are so amazingly bad. " " Because the acting was terrible and the plot moved extremely slowly. All the dialogue was wooden and dull, and young Anakin was just plain annoying. Obviously, the special effects were good, but overall, those movies were about as cool as AIDS. Oh yeah, here's a perfect example of all this^: Anakin is a natural born pilot, right? So that old jedi guy tells him to sit and hide in the cockpit. Being naturally cool, of course, Anakin flies off and saves the world. Great. In the process, he finds some crazy enemy on his butt that he wants to get away from. He thinks about this for about thirty seconds, then slowly says "I'll try rolling - that's a good trick (rolls) wwooooooaaaaaahhhhh........" (Camera rolls over - audience rolls eyes, and the enemy is miraculously defeated) Anyone else remember that particular scene? It was maybe the cheesiest piece of carp Ive ever seen. ANYWAY....I read a review of the third one and supposedly it was really good, so I'll probably see it despite the fact that 1 and 2 bite wastewater.
  10. Haha....you all were worried about bad luck? We had opening night for our school play yesterday, Friday the 13th. Old superstitions can't get more scary than that. But it went really well. Especially compared to the dress rehearsal the night before when we probably skipped over 50-70 lines here and there.
  11. Somebody said this, I find it hard to believe... Does working out every day really make your muscles weaker (or just not grow) because they don't have time to grow?
  12. No, anonymity makes you taller. I'm just under 6'4" I think perfect height is about 6'2", just tall enough to be admired, not so tall that people call you freak. I don't really mind bein so tall, though......as soon as I put on some weight I'll be a beast on the bball court

Friend of mine tried that in elementary school, but our fifth grade teacher had a sense of humor similar to a rotten prune. I'd hate to see what she would do if she caught someone with a real cigarrette...*shudders* Kind of ironic that she looked like some ex-hippie burnout from the crypt anyway
  14. Exactly how I feel. But when the company's treatment of its employees makes me feel sorry for the guy at checkout, I don't want to give that company too much money. As far as politics go, wal-mart is not democratic or republican. Like Bubsa says, it's just a store. You go there and you buy stuff, and somebody else makes some money. So what if that someone else is a republican or a democrat? Just because you disagree with their politics doesn't mean you go and boycott their politically neutral company. Forget politics, you boycott companies when they are abusive.
  15. I have my own nifty custom rank cuz I won a tip.it contest a while ago. I think otherwise I'm a bear fur. But the ranks really don't mean anything anyway. Most people ignore 'em. I do, anyway.
  16. Boycotting wal-mart because it supports republicans is really stupid, you've been talking to lower quality liberals. I hate those people too. They give the rest of us a bad name  I think the reason many people (liberals or not) don't like shopping at wal-mart is because they abuse their employees. And yeah, it looks like there are some right-wing/left-wing clashes involving unions and stuff also, but pretty much, they don't respect their employees and so people don't buy their stuff.
  17. Well I was going to say yes, I did have a worse day than that, but when I got to the last one on that list........ Don't take insults like that from your teacher though. Complain to a higher authority
  18. I own all yalls on teh trumpet!! I can play three different D's, pretty good control between three different G's, kind of a stretch to hit anything consistently above that high A, how bout you?
  19. I could quibble with that, but I'm not going to. I think I basically agree, especially with overused renders. The only exception is when someone does some completely new technique that is absolutely wonderful and very easy. That should not be ridiculed. Not until no-talent no-imagination idiots start copying the technique, anyway. Then, I'll be the first to say "you look exactly like averyone else....get better" Alright, I see where you're coming from better now. Yeah, I thought this was a general movement away from certain types of art simply because people thought they were less....artistic. This seemed snobbish to me, but I see what you mean about people just tryin to get rich quick. I'd love to stop that too, and see more people trying to make something that actually looks good. Thanks for clearing things up. Don't see why any artist would complain about astronomical sig prices, though 8) , except for the increased amount of competition (good and bad)
  20. So basically, we want to morph from a fun, helpful forum into an ultra-exclusive, contemptuous, and snobbish group of artistes who simply don't have the time for "lower" and "unserious" and "inferior" art? I don't really post here a lot, but I have always enjoyed looking at the art I find here. And something Ive constantly wondered at is the "oh that didn't take much skill you noob" attitude. So what if a piece of art didn't take much talent? Isn't the point of art to look good? So if it looks good, what does it matter that it wasn't hard to make? I once entered a sig contest. Took two pictures with a digital camera: one of the moon shining through the trees, and one of a chickadee (bird) in flight. Then I used photoshop to cut out the bird and put it over the forest, added text and a mining lvl, and got flamed. QUOTE: "You take picture and add text? You cool, man, you cool." Guess what....my sig won. The person who flamed me was really skilled with abstract, but in the end their's was a lot less compelling to look at. The thing about mine wasn't that I put a lot of skill or artistic technique into it (except taking the pics, that was hard), but that I had the idea of putting em together and the text fit nicely and the colors matched up and it came out looking good. Specifically, it looked good to someone who understood nothing about all the "higher" levels of skill that certain "art" forms require. Mine, apparently, lacked these higher levels of skill. But guess what, if your "higher" art is only good because it's hard to make, then the only reason anyone likes it is because it was hard to make, so it really is only attractive to the creator and someone who understands what it took to put it together. In the end, it could be ugly. I don't care how much skill you needed, ugly art is still ugly art. Likewise, no matter how much skill it took, attractive art is attractive. Now to backpedal. I have seen a lot of brilliant stuff on here that obviously took a ton of skill and came out looking incredible because of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that every idiot with paint should be told "oh yes man keep doin your thing you rock," (i'm especially not sayin we should all get lousy pixel sigs, those things are really really lousy) I'm just sayin that talking down to someone with very little talent is stupid because they might be making better art anyway, making more with less. Good pixel sigs are really cool to look at. Punk4eva and Oerrg come to mind. So yeah. Respect skill, and try to get more people to post high quality art. But saying we need to get rid of "crass" buying and selling is absolute snobbery, pure and simple. Why are you making art except to impress other people? Ratings and buying/selling are as natural in art as getting constructive criticism. Finally, I actually agree with the larger idea behind this revolution. I like to see people try and take art to the next level. I would love to see good sketches instead of random pieces of bad abstract or bad pixel or bad whatever. Just don't get snobbish about it. never forget that making art is all about making stuff that appeals to other people, and most people don't care how much work you put into a piece, they just care if it looks good or not. There's my essay for the day. Too long probably. Don't think I made my point clear enough. :? I'm gonna get flamed for this one, that's for sure. Just remember, the only part of this entire revolution that i disagree with is the snobbery behind it. Art is art if it looks good, and the one thing all artists want to do is sell  . So get off your high horse. And read my whole post before you flame  Man that was too long.... :?
  21. yeah, its not gonna be like a guy hunting you down and telling you to buy something, just like a billboard next to a highway or somethin.....like a flyer that says "buy Alienware" when you examine it instead of "get your axe's at bob's axes"
  22. very realistic, nice job my only criticism is that the knife doesn't really look sharp and the bow and arrow are a little thick i think
  23. that knight is toast 8) thats really cool
  24. run out of "-ongs?"
  25. yeah, Ive seen floorgasm around edgeville a few times but my all-time favorite name would definately have to be Pure Fker
