bones to peaches requires about 700-900k (gp) in runes (it's a bit easier in the enchant chamber if you're 87 mage+ -- for the enchant onyx spell...) Anyways, give yourself about that much gp to blow, and maybe 10-12 hours (1-3 days depending on your gamestyle) to finish it. It's a real drag I won't lie, but it's totally worth every second and gp. Which is how a lot of this game is geared... Consider it a new quest to finish and you'll be done in no time. Latro.

NORMAL BONES only work by the way -- big bones, babydragon bones, dragon bones, none of those work. Just a FYI.

I can safely say I annoyed about half of the folks on my friends list after I got the bones to peaches spell -- I was blown away at how useful it is. Here are some of the most useful places: -bloodvelds (slayer tower) -dagganoths (lighthouse) - drop herb and farming seeds, so the loot stacks nicely in inventory. When you need to bank, just bury 50-60 bones and you'll be able to use the graveyard random to deposit. -firegiants (in brimhaven dungeon, use wild dog bones to recharge health) -dust devils (desert, though is slightly irritating on eyes with the smoke) AND -any slayer task that is far from a bank on a monster or -near- a monster that drops bones -or- a respawn of bones (taverly dungeon by lessers) it's most effective on monsters that hurt you -slightly- but not drastically (i.e. dragons are out of the question) With bones to peaches AND with the new graveyard random, I can usually spend a whole slayer task in one location without needing to bank at all (for loot or food). BY FAR it is the best mage spell for combat (tele spells are honestly a bit more useful imo), but for you, I am with you totally on saying that it's most effective while meleeing or otherwise slaying monsters. For those who say, "what's the point? I have Guthans..." well, you can't lose the spell (once trained) when you die, and is a very economical way to stay in one location without banking after 40-60 monsters in. I'd say, it's most effective for those in the 70-110 combat range. (I'm only 105 atm, and still find it quite useful) Latro.

Do you ever think how much time you spent on playing rs?
Greedom1 replied to megakiller32's topic in General Discussion
Balance is essential in life. Even though many folks who play this game have oodles of time to "waste," you'll soon realize that you cannot balance family, friends, school/work, all while developing/maintaining a decent personality if you play this game to the detriment of other important things.... One of the saddest things I read was when N0valyfe (no life) mentioned how he essentially sacrificed the quality of his real life for the "honor" of being top score on RS... Granted, this isn't necessarily going to be a very receptive audience, and I will be the first to admit, I likely play this game too much. I will absolutely say, however, that the sacrifices I take are from my own life (as in, I watch television and decent movies less often) but I still maintain the relationships/responsibilities with those around me. My friends, job, girlfriend, and family come first, no exceptions. Lastly, it's summer, so if you have the time and want to spend your time playing, why the hell not, eh? Hope none of you took this the wrong way as it's not meant as a diatribe, but it's just my thoughts. Thanks --- -
Tip.It Times Presents: Cheating - One Player's Story

My thoughts on this: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=454479 Thanks! :) -
only change would be part of section 25 actually includes rangers and robin hats (to the east of karils and bolt racks) otherwise, great addition... you might consider expanding to the area south of park and towards the bank.... rune items, herbs, glories, hides, cannons, and runes all have fairly delineated areas down there too...

I alched mine one time late at night -- went IMMEDIATELY to buy a new one. Fortunately I had the gp to afford a new one, but at least it was only a 3mill loss, not more. I will say, it's a rare day I don't forget it, but I will say that when I hear others' tales of woe, I feel a bit better. :)

--recently axe's slayer guide has helped -- --Also some further detail on some of the quests might be nice (but probably not worth the effort), especially when doing at reasonably higher levels... Example: when doing a quest and teleing from one location to another -- maybe include other tasks you could possibly do in transit (ie. mine a load of ores, or more conveniently, farming a patch or two...) Obviously this requires a ton more work, but I've realized that for as great as the quest guides are on this site and others, some of the older quests are lacking in some detail (ie. pictures) that could be helpful. All in all I'm rather grateful, so a hearty thanks to all who have put in the work for making these guides. Happy RSing~

Values? What do they mean and do you feel you have them?
Greedom1 replied to Greedom1's topic in General Discussion
You bring up an interesting point in regards to capitalism... On the isse of combat level suggesting respect, it reminds me of a topic that occasionally pops up. Some have said it would be a good idea to perhaps include skill totals or quest points in addition to the combat level next to someone's name. Personally, I think that could get quite messy, but it could be interesting if they were to include an "Honor" rating, or maybe a "Respect" rating somewhere. The criteria for this would not be based on in-game play exclusively, but could be based on any black marks on record, kudos from other players, or potentially on the number of successful abuse reports. I see that it would be difficult to implement, and naturally would have drawbacks, but thoughts anyone? -
Though your efforts are likely in vain, personally I appreciate that you're trying to be part of the solution at the moment. I'm looking forward to a new game engine, though what I'd --really-- like is an advanced RS client... Perhaps that's a little too much to ask at the moment I guess. Anyways, I'd say a 3 - 3.5. :) Have fun.

Values? What do they mean and do you feel you have them?
Greedom1 replied to Greedom1's topic in General Discussion
This may be true, but as a Supreme Court Justice (Potter Stewart) famously said in a 1964 case concerning how he would measure (or define) hard-core obscenity*, "I know it when I see it." I may not be able to measure integrity, but I darn well know it when I see it. *Note, when I initially wrote this, the filter turned the word associated with publications like Hustler and Playboy into "Adults Only"... Somewhat funny to me... :) -

Definitely. I understand what you're saying and wholeheartedly agree. Though this is getting away from my original point, I find myself doing the same several times per week. -
Values? What do they mean and do you feel you have them?
Greedom1 replied to Greedom1's topic in General Discussion
This may be true, but my point is that people seem to allow those with riches in their banks or on their heads (phats) to be the defining factor in what they determine someone's character to be. (wolfboy, forgive me as the remainder is not directed at you...) Recent events prove to me that this is a fallacy. It is a misnomer to suggest that merely due to someone's ability to play this game well, or to manipulate the market affords them our respect. This is not just me being whiny and self-righteous. No, what I'm saying is that you're selling yourself short if you heap loads of praise on someone for a skill level or for riches without even considering whether they have broken the rules to get there and whether they have broken any since. As one who attempts to maintain my own dignity and integrity both in-game and in real-life, I'm frankly disappointed by those who are star-struck by pixels or skills and disgusted by those who don't understand or care what integrity means. I'm not a military man -- I teach in college in fact -- but I feel I do know what honor means and also what it means to be judged by the content of your character. Thanks, and happy RSing :) -
First, a few caveats: -While this may be a little long, please bear with me as I feel it may be worth your time. -Forum moderators and administrators, please do not lock this unless you feel it is absolutely necessary. I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢d like to hear some intelligent thoughts on this and would appreciate some time to get some feedback. -If this needs to be moved to the Discussions/Suggestions forum, please feel free. -Please keep all replies civil, thanks. That being said, let me begin. The title of this thread concerns something all of us have encountered during the course of our adventures in Runescape. SOme people's goal in rs is to be incredibly rich. So they shouldn't have a cap on the money because some want to be the richest. It's just a goal like having 99 in a skill or something. No offense, but judging by the fact you were the first post after rune2pleasants post --and-- your post count, suggests to me you're obviously aware of the gp cap. If you're going to tag-team a post, just do it explicitly as opposed to trying to make it appear you're an impartial contributor. Flame if you want, but I don't think there's much argument here.

off topic, I know, but I'm sure this was mentioned when the Knowledge Base first came out, it was late by at -least- a year and a half. That being said, they never should have been thinking about huge new updates (slayer skill, Barrows, and farming) without helping people understand how to play the game to that point. Sure, there are a lot of brats who play this game and never try to figure anything out for themselves, but it's ridiculous how little information was actually available in the "manual" before. Anyways, glad to see the knowledge base has been added, so I'll stop my griping... :) As for the latest threat/update, I recently did receive a message about a report I had made... though it was the first in about 3 months.

Master Slayer Guide by Axe Man Jack (AOW) Updated 9/06

free bump, ty again for the guide alan. -
90 in all combats (melee: 83,81,83, range: 84, mage: 87), and then once there, fire cape, then the elusive 90 crafting (85 atm) to make my very own fury.

thieving and shark fishing have already been said, but I'd go back to my noobish roots for a good laugh... I'd head to the edgeville dungeon, then walk along and enter the secret room with the two rats in it. There are two respawns of coins (I think 1 and 2 gp) down there... I'd pick up them up and punch the rats to death until I had a few hundred gp... Sure it'd be slow, but at least it'd bring back memories. If I had to face this for real, I think I'd most likely quit for a month. :\

Tanner in al kharid charges 20 gp, while canafis charges 40 per hide (not much of a difference) I think al kharid is easier imho. Tiaras are 52.5 xp ea, coifs 37 xp each... if you buy silver bars, there is nothing faster, if you're smithing the silver ore into bars first, I think coifs are faster (as you can tan all at once as opposed to smithing one ore at a time). The time it takes to smith a tiara (from a bar) is about the same as the time to craft a coif (from a tanned hide). Trust me, I'm 85 crafting, and have done easily 25k of both coifs and tiaras... Alternatively, you might consider mining gem rocks in shilo on an empty server, or thieve the safes in the rogue's den for crafting xp while also training mining or thieving respectively. PM me if you'd like any other crafting tips - it's by far one of my proudest skills (though not my highest), so good luck.

fabulous idea --- with as much as Jagex is training all of us to stay up waaaaaay past the point at which we should go to bed, they might as well explicitly train us to start gambling in ernest. :) I mean why not? casinos would be fun, and quite enjoyable for 5-10 percent of the rs member population... No major negatives in my opinion (especially with a decent house advantage).

Kind of a rip from Starcraft.... Defilers? and the Torchers have the same attack as the mutalisks in Starcraft... This player vs. npc minigame is an interesting idea, just wish they were a little more original about it. Though I wouldn't expect it these days as they feel the need for updates every six-eight days... I'm not saying I don't appreciate updates, but I just don't want them at the expense of creativity.
-
btw, I meant to add, I do like the new camo as well, and I don't like the white chain, but as you can see, I don't mind the new dchain... don't see how it changes anything.
-
Sorry to be slightly [puncture]ish, but "real" camo is relative... given that armed forces from different nations use over 200 different versions in an attempt to "blend in." Also, the US recently changed their camo patterns to a significant degree for the first time in years... Which looks nothing like the recent "update." (Yes, I know this game is made from UK designers -- though played mostly by Americans.) Now, if you ask me, a good "camouflauge" for RS would be full rune and nothing more. You can blend in perfectly. :)
