Runescape: Nice Guys Finish last? o.O Is it good to be good?
Greedom1 replied to Taito2004's topic in General Discussion
I could go on and on - but just check the post in my sig for my thoughts... A clean conscience, scruples, and integrity go a long way in RS and in RL. -
New Skill !!! (just a joke, but a fun read)
Greedom1 replied to tru_vampire0's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
sounds fun - not very practical - but thanks for the fun ideas... -
Nor do I - Obviously it would be something like "Extra Super Energy" or something reasonably plain and uncreative. Though, a "super-duper-looper" could be mushroom spores, snape grass, and ground rune essence and the effect would essentially throw you into an acid trip from hell.... (Please never let this idea see the light of day!) :P
-
You pkers want more? Arent you pkers ever happy with the updates to PK'ing??? Personally, I don't pk. But I think the idea may work.
-
Thanks - I think it would a be a useful addition to the herblore skill with several other potions (which I'm sure will come eventually). It wouldn't change much (in the PK balance), or be that useful, but it would be something to consider.
-
Given the lack of high level potions (82 plus), might it be time for a pk-friendly (or quest friendly) super-duper energy potion? Made from say... Lantadyme or Cadantine and any second ingredient? (This part doesn't matter as the combinations are plentiful...) Basically the effect of the potion is that it raises your energy -above- 100%. Say... 25% to 10% per dose for a max around... 150-200%. Uses: For pking (though this would obviously be limited by entangle and other such spells), this would be valuable for those who may choose to attempt a deadman's dash if they ran into trouble. I don't feel that this would unduly affect the wildy as it could easily be overcome by entangle spells. But it could potentially affect in a significant way those kills that begin around lvl 40-50 and end near 10-20 if no such spells are used. Thoughts? (EDIT - sorry I didn't put this in the right forum - thanks for the move Mods).

remember the shop near the entrance to the skeleton part of Desert Treasure? He has dragon daggers for 60k ea (unpoisoned...)

what would you do if the genie turned good....
Greedom1 replied to pompey_spud's topic in General Discussion
A few hundred prayer xp (or when I was a low construction level, con xp) is just fine with me.... I LOVE the genie random and I consider him very good. For your post, obviously massive riches would be nice, but I'd much rather have massive xp instead. (Since those riches would be put to that use anyways...) -
Certaintly a new way of explaining how drops work
Greedom1 replied to Kalliel's topic in General Discussion
Jagex's silliness only goes so far before it just starts sounding like that jerk relative (usually an Uncle or perhaps a distant cousin) all of us have who makes dumb snide comments all the time. A classic is "No I didn't get a haircut I got ALL of them cut." If you don't know anyone like this, most likely you're the jerk. -
Using firemaking in a combat fashion (I'm sure this has been said already -- I haven't checked all the replies yet). This would be frikin sweet on monsters especially vulnerable to fire... AND it would shut me and many others up for saying firemaking has no real use....
-
They wouldn't necessarily have to make "combo" potions -- merely adding the two together could cause an "explosion" similar to nitroglycerin... Sure, it could wreak havoc one unsuspecting players, but it could make things a bit more interesting... though I see scams happening a lot. As in: Scammer: Here man, try using these two pots together - you get 1k herb exp AND you can recharge prayer and boost combat levels... Newb: OKAY! Scammer: *twiddles fingers in Mr. Burns fashion* Exxxxxxcellent. Newb: Oh No, I was hit for 20 hp drain and now I'm dead. *loses items* Scammer: HAHAHAH... I am the COOLEST.

Were you a member when you completed dragon slayer?
Greedom1 replied to 2handeddagger's topic in General Discussion
no - and ffs I almost died.... I didn't realize until later how close I came.... I was so newbish, I bought lobsters from the guy in Port Sarim from money NPCs dropped to cook them for the quest. (This is also why I killed maaaaany chickens to raise my cooking.... So I could cook the raws he sold without burning too many...) Had I been a member, I could have done it with about 20 mins of flax picking... Do I regret it? HECK NO!!! I learned self-sufficiency, I appreciated what real effort in this game means, and above all, I grew to truly enjoy (love?) this game.... Why? I had chat off for over 3 months (starting Nov 2004) and I think I understand how RS2 can become RSC rather quickly... I "discovered" the f2p map over 10 days --- being killed by cows, goblins -- *low* alching over 400 nats in the varrock sewers on moss giant loot... You get the idea - I came up slow, figured my way there, but I earned every bit of it. As did most of you, I'm sure. -
Values? What do they mean and do you feel you have them?
Greedom1 replied to Greedom1's topic in General Discussion
I will bump this as I feel this topic is still rather pertinent. Thanks :) -
They're *gasp* the best looking to you? Good lord my friend, they're spiders... creepy crawlies, you know the deal! Maybe I have arachnaphobia or something, but I'll disagree with that for sure! :D :-X :ohnoes:

does anyone else get slightly annoyed by this?
Greedom1 replied to jessy87's topic in General Discussion
I do the same :) (qp below) -
Begging. If it were a skill, about half of runescape would be lvl 99 in about 2 minutes.
-
Though not attractive, my all-time favorite character is in the Catherby / Seer's area. Who is it? Grandpa Jack of course. Why? Well that's what my real Grandpa's name was... :D
-
yup, took a crew of friends down there tonight - the location is nice for mid to mid-high lvls... beyond that, slaying and such is a better use of time... The blood and death drops were -very- nice btw... -WHAT- is the use of the left half skulls? (I have 5 and left about 5 behind...)
-
I'll forgive you for saying -Pumpkin- when all who have been know it's nothing but -Punkin'- If you're down in Sussex County, Del this Nov and want to see the best tailgate party ever, give me a holler, I can guarantee it will be worth your while :) ENJOY!
-
LOL - I got a kick out of those - perhaps you may have a secret fetish for sex-change doctors? In any case, if you've ever seen SHREK, I think any female (or male) ogre has a soft spot in my heart. :) :3>

Thanks for those who can handle a bit of silliness here... Honestly, I thought of this question when I was banking for about the ten thousandth time and I was looking at a -very- gray haired lady in the Catherby bank. (In the "bank banker" screen, which I normally don't click on...) Though I'm likely to entrust my valuables with someone who may be "wise in age," I did notice she was not exactly good on the eyes... It made me think -surely- Jagex creators are human, and surely they may make some characters better looking than some. Beauty may be skin deep, but since we're all talking about pixels here, what the heck is the difference? Some of these women are straight up hags (see witches et al), while others are more pleasant. (Same with guys I might add.) This post was spur of the moment, granted, though I have enjoyed reading the replies. (I've never been to Party Pete myself...) And for the above post... CAMELS?!?!?! Reaaaally....?
-
Fair enough - edited. Thanks.
-
How is this spam? Maybe a little off-kilter, but lighten up folks, I'm not attracted to "pixels" either... It's only meant to spur a little discussion and such. Flame away I guess... Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, but Gen P2P seemed about right to me...
-
Just for fun, who is the best looking NPC in the game? Three categories: Male (human): Female (human): Special (non human): (edit) Yes I know it's an odd question -- have fun with it folks! :) :-k (edit #2) Wow, shocked to see this bumped... and before any more of you post about not being attracted to pixels... give it up, I'm not either. Simply put, some of the characters in the game look better than others, and that's what this question is about.
