Given that I just bought my dragon chain last week for a little over 21 mill, I seriously doubt many of the thoughts about its "ugliness" will mean a significant drop in its price. Let's be honest, it is still one of the largest status symbols in the game for many new players in the game who cannot afford (or see the point) in a party hat (or set thereof). All this talk of dchains being "ugly" is really a tad pathetic if you ask me. Again, pixels are pixels, and if you're that upset about them, remember again how long it took to make 20+ mill... (or get it as a drop...) Given that, maybe just take the dchain as it is, which again, is a status symbol (and a very, very slight addition to stats.) A slight adjustment is just that and nothing more... especially for an item as coveted as the dragon chainbody. later.

bchaney, just pm me in game if you want any tips, I'm happy to help ya out. Welcome back, and hope you enjoy your month. Though, consider the very real likelihood that this won't be your last as P2P, is it worth it? (Of course it is... ;-) ) Anyways, good luck.

off topic, sorta. I've noticed that using a weapon with a high crush attack equipped increases my mining speed (esp. on gem rocks). Try it with a mystic lava or fire battle, (which both give good crush bonuses), or a dragon spear... I have no hard evidence to this, but I really notice a difference. Has there been another thread on this topic? (no flaming please.) Thanks, and happy RSing,

or use em when POH come out... (when perhaps?)

The Leviathan, king of all Beasts!

Perhaps you might read Thomas Hobbes... just wikipedia him if you're too lazy for that... -
Harsh :) Take it in stride man, but axe man (allan) might be on something here.

Master Slayer Guide by Axe Man Jack (AOW) Updated 9/06
Greedom1 replied to bigmoneyak's topic in General Guides
By the way... I've never gotten desert lizards (in the last 30-40 or so tasks.) I'm assuming this is because I have not started Desert Treasure quest yet (nor finished any of the desert quests). I don't plan on touching any of them anytime soon -- yes, I know this means I lose out on dust devil slaying, but are they worth it if I'm opening up the potential for these --burden-- of a task? Thanks a bunch. :) -
lol :)

I might be a bit older than some as I teach at college, and love it (teaching that is). I play runescape and love it (most things about it). Believe me, 1600+ lvls in a year or so didn't come accidentally. I feel for you, and if I were your age, I wouldn't spend some of the best years of my life playing this game. This is also why I've decided that every 5th slayer assignment I get, I run at least 2 miles (in real life) instead of running over to the nearest bank to gear up for the task. (Obviously you could substitute studying, reading, cooking for parents/friends/wife, or some other worthwhile activity...) On a personal note, the recent Jagex update "notice" about runescape dominating social, work, and education time is especially worth reading through again in my opinion. This game is addictive as any vice: alcohol, nicotine, pornography, or even other MMORPGs.... The solution is moderation and maturity... Though I will add that I have many lessons to learn from both, and I'm sure all of you could as well. My final point (and perhaps the only worth reading), ENJOY this game; please don't let it dominate you. Thanks~ *stepping off of soapbox* Happy RSing.

usually whenever I say (when I'm close to lvling) "5K until next level" it says "******* next level" reason: "2k until" (number doesn't matter) has a particular string of characters... anyways.

Cream, I know we've pm-ed since your post, but just for the tip.it community's benefit, I'd like to say that I agree with you on your frustration on the ring of wealth prices... You might find reading the latest tip.it times article on "greedy" players... which as my name may belie, I have a -few- issues with (lol!), but I do understand the general thrust of the point. Basically it is this: I work hard to enjoy this game and as much passion (and time) as I devote to this game, I will apply an equal (or more) amount of effort in detesting those who want the easy way to success and who try to cheat their way to the top. I appreciate (read: understand) mediocrity, but a perfunctory effort will never reach a level of greatness that is truly appreciated in this game. happy rsing to all -- and especially to cream -- good luck on the lvl 66 crafting... it's a slow endeavor, good luck again.

sure, if anyone reads this, I'll take all dstones and 10k and give you a fully charged glory. pm me in game if interested.

First off, I'll start by saying that I'm 84 crafting (halfway to 85) Here's what the issue is. Every day, I would say --at least-- 1k half keys come into the game -- maybe 65% of these are loops, 35% teeth. This is besides my point. The issue is... "high level" crafters (80 and above imho) make those dstones into glories every day. I myself charge 10k per dstone for a fully charged glory. (I trade a glory charged for a dstone and 10k) This is a "bargain" for someone without 80 crafting, and for me, a useful way to offset the cost of leveling an otherwise expensive skill. Personally, crafting is one of the skills I'm the most proud of (as I've been leveling it since last July) Now to your post. You've basically issued a complaint against the forces of business. Yes. I AGREE WITH YOU. However, I understand, as many smithers already have experienced years ago, that as more people level up a skill, the less profitable it will be. (Mostly if the product you're creating, be it a glory ammy or a rune body.) Also, you seem to be complaining about ring of wealth prices. Here's my tip. Do the work. Level up to 80, there is still some money to be made by buying dstones (and both half keys) for 60-65k, then selling for 75-90k in the form of a charged glory. Your price of 65k for a glory is honestly one of the lowest I've seen in awhile. I can almost guarantee crafters don't sell for that cheap -- pkers do. Which leads me to my final point. The people who work hard to create something versus someone who comes into it easily (but does not connect the effort involved), are likely to sell it for considerably higher than the other person. The crafter/smither vs pker dynamic is the best example of this. If you can't understand what I'm getting at, then clearly you're going to never truly understand the forces of the market in business. happy rsing

mods, feel free to switch this to the rants section... (not that I could stop ya) :) Anyways, I was just killing a black dragon -- had him down to less than 15 gp... system update (crap.) Ok, no big deal, right.... I'll kill him when I get back. Not a problem. Here is my gripe/rant if you will... I log in again -- less than 30 seconds later.... the black drag is now full hp... but... I'm --not-- full special... My point is, if he "restarts," why shouldn't I? I'm sure this issue has been around forever, but that frikin stinks guys... (and gals) Any thoughts?

this would be a decent money sink actually... though it could make the free armor trimming scam more common...

Jagex's New DIDJA KNOW'S(Message of the Week)
Greedom1 replied to n64jive's topic in General Discussion
Speaking of these new tips, and maybe this is throwing fuel on the fire (bad pun) of the debate over range v fires (i'll be 93 cooking in about 20 mins), so that is a topic of great interest to me. Anyways, on the subject of superheat... considering the cost (even general store price) of natures, I think that is a horrible tip to promote to the general RS community. At least from the perspective of intelligent strategy... Look at it from Jagex's perspective: they have an excellent thing going, and the longer they can keep people interested, the better. Now, when do people begin to lose interest (average player) and begin to get tired of the game? When you reach those insane to level high levels (depends on the skill of course -- herblore cannot be compared to cooking). The longer that Jagex can preoccupy players with worthless new items, while they may be expanding the game, they are also ensuring their own survival. How then, do these "Didya Know" tips fit in? Well, if the superheat item (as they suggest) works 100% of the time, then it will probably spur at least a few k players to try out superheat. While this raises mage xp and allows 100% smithing for iron, it is probably one of the --worst-- uses for nature runes. Especially as there already is the ring of forging (yes, I know for members only...) I just hope you haven't lost my point here: that my sense is that Jagex is doing things to both speed the game up (cook-x), and also distract people from purely leveling only skills. While this makes the game better in my opinion, I honestly am curious about their motivations sometimes when they create "updates" that slow the game down (craft silver-x is now craft 5,10) Argh. :) I'll stop here before I ramble on any further. Thanks-- -
I find that if I'm in the midst of combat -- (fighing something either melee or range), and I alch a drop for the gp, I often get a random the next second after clicking on "cast high alchemy on..." so yes, they are "randoms" but they often come up when you change behavior as well. I'd love to know how exactly they (jagex) determines this, but macroers obviously would love to know this as well, so I'll prefer to remain ignorant

I had over 1525 total lvls before i broke 90 combat (about 9-10 days ago) Now I'm, 96 combat. After members I trained for like 8 months on skills. It's only been since Feb I've decided to move back to combat again... a lot of that had to do with waiting for the whip to drop in price... Skills always take a ton of time to lvl (like my 84 crafting), so in the meantime, I focused on those and watched the whip drop from 25+, to around 8, and now to about 2.6 mil. anyways, the whip can and will go lower -- I think it should remain over a mill -- but it will keep dropping. Only question is how fast and obviously how much.
-
Same as rune ? Nah F2p can mine, you can have auto miners on any noob account to be able to mine rune.... Slayer on the other hand takes a lot longer to lvl. You can not auto and whip drop rate is going down. Price going down? Of coarse... more people getting 85 slayer each day.. Also money making now days is much easier... People are payin insane amounts to fletchers for bows to get mage up. People paying 150-170 for bowstring.. 100-120 for flax. List goes on and on... RS2 inflation It's not so surprising to see the cost of flax and strings to go up... Nats used to be 350-400 each before nat rcing became the latest thing... With nats and laws dropping in price, you see the other products rising to cover the difference. Flax pickers may be low level, but they aren't stupid. :)

sorry kwim -- didn't realize it was something that happens often as I've never noticed it before. Anyways, glad others know what I'm talking about -- I thought I was losing my mind...
-
I was playing today around 3:00 PM EST and I noticed when I took the noted yew longs out of my bank to alch, the image of the notes was different. This lasted for about 10 mins and changed --in game-- I thought I was going nuts -- sorry I don't have a screenshot, but anyone else notice this? Thanks--

Hey all, it's a real shame I never met this player -- though honestly I'm more of a loner (e.g skiller) on RS --- probably like a some lurkers on these forums as well... Anyways, I'll let you who knew him figure out how to honor him, though it's incredibly humbling that a someone of so few years had such an impact on all of you. Given your grieving and sincere efforts to honor him, he must have been a great guy... I'm sorry I never got to know him. Another point (for the service you were suggesting) -- maybe part of the service could inclue bull roarers? I know some of you might think they're obnoxious, but hey, anything you can do, ya know? (I know this would mean f2p would be out of the question.) All right, that's about it from me. Nice to see that someone who put his heart into this game has been missed; and also a sobering example to those who claim the "community" has been lost in RS -- I think you can find it if you work to create it for yourself. I myself have not made that effort significantly, but still have had a lot of fun regardless. Anyways, sorry to hear the bad news, but from what I hear Shiva loved this game, and enjoyed making people happy, so... Happy RSing... See ya around everyone.

hey SDK, add me in friends and I'll try to help you out with whatever in-game questions you may have. welcome back (even though I never knew ya myself...) anyways, take care :)

unless at least about 25 of those "30 new items" are bank spaces, I'm probably not going to bother with any of them... (ps.... kudos to the latest tip.it times article -- WE NEED MORE SPACE IN BANK... not more worlds!!!!!)
