Monkfish
Wow, thanks for confirming that. I took tuna and swordies over there to check in case it was better, and burned just as many as on a fire on Catherby beach. Nice to know I'm not crazy, I'll confirm your post in Corrections so we can get that fixed next time around. Thanks for doing the research on these things, we need input like yours to improve the website!

Some questions on DT
[bleep]ed boots - buy some climbing boots from the Tenzing the Sherpa (Death Plateau quest), then take them and an iron bar to Dunstan (?), the smith in Burthorpe.

A little help would be useful!
He already did the recovery part, as he said. The question is, can you log in now? If not, post back what happens when you try, and we'll try to figure out what you should do. It may be that Jagex meant for you to change your password and recovery questions ... not sure, as you would have to be able to log in to do either one. Good luck.

Dragon slayer / mage + range pure?
My friend had a range pure but kinda wanted the body. So he ranged Elvarg and got a bucket full of defense levels (no strength if we recall correctly). Advantage: Out in the wildy, some people can't kill you. One attacker's quote was "Damn your defense!" Disadvantage: Ups your combat level so much that you end up being PK'd by people who are way stronger than you. Your call.

quiting rs
I'm a mom, and I know from observation what a gaming addiction is like (my son is currently connected to a World of Warcraft intravenous drip). It tends to keep you from learning the social skills that will serve you the rest of your life, besides not getting out and enjoying the company of other people, playing sports, and paying attention to school which will affect your lifetime income. So I'm happy that you are recognizing the impact and deciding to do something about it. :D I confess I am turned off by all of the people claiming "it's my birthday" in this thread, as that scam started so long ago it's ridiculous that anyone might buy it. My apologies to any who might be telling the truth. ;) This is gonna sound stupid, but if you are looking to help someone out, I kinda feel badly for Duke_Freedom, the famous merchanter who was banned a while back for selling RS stuff for RL cash. I don't know him at all, and don't know if he was allowed to create another character (or if Jagex banned him forever). But ... I can understand how huge the level of temptation must have been for someone in his situation, with everything he had built up over the years. And according to most forum users, he has always been nice and shared his advice and experience and helped other people. Again, I didn't know him - but he owned up to his mistake and didn't lie or try to weasel out of his punishment, which could have happened. That shows some character. Please don't flame me, I know what he did was wrong. It's just my personal feeling about his situation (and does NOT represent the opinion or official position of Tip.It nor Tip.It staff, ahem). Thanks for listening and good luck to you in Real Life - breathe the air and enjoy living in your own head and skin. :D Hugs to you.

crafting
If you've done One Small Favour and don't mind being terminally bored, grab your brown apron and pick and head to the Crafting Guild. Make pot lids. Now that Spin X (click spinning wheel) and Fire X (right click Pottery Oven) are options, the only tiresome annoying part is wetting down the clay. Yeah, it's lower xp (40 for all, I think?), but there's no equipment to buy and no money down, lol. Oh, and next time you have Sapphires or Emeralds, I suggest making Gaming Necklaces and Dueling Rings. People buy these, so you may earn a profit (or use yourself for handy teleporting).

Recommend me a Barrows method.
Leester's Guide (link above) is great. But also check out Satenza's guide http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=418468 which is meant for players with combat 75-90. HTH

Hints for a new quest? Rune shards and dust?
Would you treat one diseased patch with regular cure potion, and another with super? Guess there would have to be multiple trials to be certain. Try it and let us know how it goes, willya?

New Members Guide
Dude, you caught me. I'll add something there, thanks. Satenza, I knew Leesters was wanting such a guide, and I PM'd him with a link and asked for comments. He read it but didn't respond (presumably busy) :(. So if you contact him, try to get him to read it and comment, willya? I really want to know what he might have to say.

What to do with rusty sword?
The Port Khazard guy only repairs Rusty swords (not damaged stuff), and requires a fee of I think 100 or 200 gp. They turn out to be Bronze through Mithril (rarely). I'm not sure if you have to do One Small Favour quest in order to use him, though.

ring of forging
Sorry, I do not believe this is true, else they would have counters on them. The count stays with the player. Here's the ironic part: if you do not use your ring of forging for 139 iron ore .... using the ring on the 140th will cause the ring to disappear, just as if you'd used it the whole time, lol! (unless this has been fixed - but it was true last time I tried)

Firemaking, money
EDIT: Sigh. I wrote this nice long post below, then discovered Tip.It has a "Splitbark Armour" guide which explains all of the details about making money by Shade Burning, heh heh. It's http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=splitbark_armour.htm -------------------------- After Shades of Mort'ton, buy some Olive Oil from the store (if you haven't already, make some serum207 into serum207p by using it on the Temple flame, and give it to Razmire, so you can always use the store). Go to the Temple and get it built (try World 2 if you don't have a group - but buy your Oil first on a more deserted world). Once the Fire is lit, use your Olive Oils on it to make them blessed (or whatever it's called). Use your blessed Olive Oil on a log - the higher pyre logs you can burn, the better. (Note the firemaking requirement on pyre logs is slightly higher than for regular logs - check Tip.It's Firemaking guide.) Now kill a Loar shade and collect the remains. Go to one of the pyre stands, put the pyre log on it, then the remains, then light it with a Tinderbox. After the spirit is released, there will be a key (and sometimes some gp or something minor) on the nearby stand. Use the key to go down into the Mort'ton dungeon. While you're down there, kill the highest level shade you can reach, and keep the remains. Then use your key on a chest in the appropriate area (the areas increase through the keys: bronze, iron, steel, black, and silver). You will get some LOOT. If you get the rare fine cloth, you can sell it to a player or use it to make splitbark armour. Other items can be sold, high alched, or sold to Razmire. Burning higher shade remains with higher level pyre logs yields higher level keys, which unlock higher chests with better loot. (That was a long sentence.) Bringing enough logs, carrying building supplies, and some food for the dungeon used to be a pain. Most people brought it noted, then sold and bought it back from Razmire's store. But if you complete the Aid to the Myreque quest, Burgh de Rott has a bank that may be handier.

Regicide help pl0x!
It's a nasty and complex process - one friend of mine used 120 coal trying to get it to work. And I regret to say that the Tip.It quest guide isn't giving accurate instructions. The good thing is that your tar stays in the machine - I am fairly certain that it does not get "used up" and require more tar. You just have to play with it until you get the hang of it. Here's the Tip.It image: Put some coal in (click "Add coal" in the middle on the furnace door). When heat is in green, click the right "tar regulator" valve once to allow tar in (note that this valve does NOT affect the heat!). If the heat is too high (red or above), stop adding coal. When the heat falls below green you must add more coal. Watch pressure gauge on the left VERY CLOSELY. If the pressure gets too high (past green and starting into red), click the left pressure valve once or twice to "bleed" the pressure. Keep an eye on the pressure gauge! As soon as it's back in green, turn the left pressure valve back off. If the pressure goes past red, the still "blows" and all gauges and valves are reset to zero, so you must start again by adding coal, etc. (I don't think you lose the amount of tar you already distilled, though.) The line across the bottom shows your distilling progress, to give you some encouragement. Good luck!

Does anyone remember Runedraw?
If you drew a Death rune, you automatically lost. The goal was to get a total higher than Robin without drawing a Death (vaguely similar to blackjack/21). Air=1 Mind=2 Water=3 Earth=4 Fire=5 Body=6 Cosmic=7 Chaos=8 Nature=9 Dunno if Laws or Souls were included in the game, sorry. Also not sure if the limit was 5 draws (again like blackjack/21) or if more were allowed. Do a sudoku too ;)

New Members Guide
Guide has been updated in the first post - please take a look and post any comments you have, as this is slated to become a "real" guide very soon. Bambino is working on some pictures for it right now.

Hidden (I think) update
Smapla, I got stuck on Run for a long time once (every time I logged in, over several days). I kept turning it "off" and it wouldn't stop (and was draining my energy). Finally I messaged Customer Service and got a real simple (and live!) answer. "Your CTRL key is stuck." Apparently this happens to players fairly often, lol. Bang on it a coupla times to get it "unstuck". EDIT: hellbellz, if I told you how old this keyboard was, you'd die. But like I said above, I'm not the only one. :P

Selling Cabbages For 100 each
I actually did this once when sacks and farming first came out (27 sacks and 1 diamond). Took over 20 minutes to remove the stupid cabbages one at a time and sell them to the guy. AND at that time, they had reduced the buying price from 100 each to around 65 each in response to this very exploit. Dunno what it is now (sounds like it's back to 100?) Anyways, the time and clicking it took did NOT make the 17K worthwhile. Try it and you'll see ...

Hints for a new quest? Rune shards and dust?
okay, here's a wild thought - what if "super" plant cure could fend off disease, the way super antipoison gives immunity from poisoning for a while? This is pure speculation on my part - and I'm not really even sure how to test it out (and haven't got the time to experiment anyways). I don't mean to start a rumor, just wondered what you might think of the idea.

No, cannon gives range xp only (no HP nor def xp).

spicy worm
Sorry, that's a Red Vine Worm you are thinking of (no spice added). The Recipe for Disaster mentioned above calls for Maggots, which are made as described. The SPICY WORM is a Gnome Cuisine ingredient (see Tip.It guide http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=gnome_cuisine.htm ) It's used to make a worm batta. Add Gnome Spice to a King Worm to make it.

Crystal bows
Ilfeen is the charger as stated above. She has two locations (she's a roving elf so she switches back and forth between them) which are marked on Tip.It's map http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=isafdar_arandar.htm Both spots are just south of the East/West river below Prifddinas. HTH

help me out someone
Sorry about that - didn't know the first link was broken. I'll try to find out about it. In the meantime, the second link is for the market forums http://forum.tip.it/index.php?c=5 and that is a better place to check prices.

About theta.in
Sounds incredibly risky, I'd stay away from it if it were me. Might be trying to steal your account name and password (not saying they are, just saying it's possible, ya know.) Remember the Jagex Warning: NEVER ENTER YOUR PASSWORD on any site except http://www.runescape.com!
