    Today...

Actually, I had a job for 5 years before that and barely spent an unnecessary dime. That is the only reason I am currently not bankrupt, though I shall be by the end of April if I can't find anything. And they called me a "cheapskate" and a "money hoarder" back then. When I do finally get a new job, I'll end up being that "money hoarder" they were most likely jealous of, and I'll be quite happy with that.

    Today...

I've been out of work for 16 months, applying for at least a couple jobs a week, more when they're there. I found out a factory near my uncle is hiring something in the area of 60 people, so I get my resume printed only to find out they accept online applications only. That's fine, I go to their website and they have no openings listed and no mention of the hirings. I decided to check a couple of job search sites and the only openings are for supervisor positions. So now I'm back to square one, blindly fumbling around for a job and enduring backhanded remarks from my aunt and sisters. "Find a job yet?", "You know you gotta get a job eventually, right?", etc. For 16 months I've had to listen to it, and it bugs me more and more every time. EDIT: I found some job openings on the company site, but the problem remains that they are for high level positions, not the jobs I am actually qualified for.

    Today...

I've never been on a functional plane. I've never needed to be. I am considering it for the future, but it'll be a while yet. I'm currently in my mid-20s. I figure I won't board a plane until I'm at least into my 30s. I've been as far as Tennessee (I live in Ontario), but we drove it because my aunt if afraid of flying. I will be getting up at 4am Saturday to watch a Sledge Hockey game because my sister has a friend in the tournament. It'll either be fun... or disastrous as I try to not sleep the rest of my Saturday away.

    Today...

Woke up to find my aunt sitting at the desk... about an hour after she should have left for work. Apparently she had a flat tire and had called a tow truck, and was ultimately told it could be up to 2 hours due to high volume of calls. She called at just after 9, they showed up at about 12:15. After she leaves, there comes a series of knocks on the door. I ignore them, despite the fact it was at semi-regular intervals for about 2 hours. If I want to talk to somebody, they are somebody who will either walk in (with or without a courtesy knock; mostly family) or call ahead (friends and the like). Eventually my mom and sister show up, and my mom never leaves a knocked-upon door unanswered. It turns out the flat tire was a one of 4 to have happened in our parking lot... which tends to hold 4 cars during the weekend. Somebody slashed a tire on every car last night and the police won't do anything until we file a formal complaint... online. To make matters worse, my mom then allowed the neighbour entry to the house, which might not seem too bad to some of you... but you haven't met my neighbours. Overall, not a great day.
  5. Personally, I would go for the Blues, but they're the only one of the 3 that I like. My sister keeps buying OHL (London Knights) tickets, so I've been to 3 games since early December. I was 3rd row behind the London net when their goalie's leg got stepped on. Obviously, that also put me right in the middle of an angry mob. Later in that same game, we saw a player get a penalty shot (for getting tripped into the goalie) and a minor penalty (for then sliding into the goalie) on the same play. Needless to say, I was confused.
  6. To be fair, Zenimax is doing all the work for ESO. Bethesda is just a publisher.
  7. I got that game for my birthday last month. I can't deny its greatness.

    Today...

I'll trade. My house spends a few months hovering between 5° and 10°C every year before anybody will give in and turn on the heat.

Thanks. As it was your birthday, shouldn't your twin have come to you?

    Today...

Yesterday was my 25th. I didn't do anything special, but that suits me just fine.
  11. Nah, that's the kind of feeling I had, too.
  12. I usually just go back to bed, though thanks to the dog I'm never alone.

    Today...

-9 right now with 6 inches of snow, more falling, and strong, cold winds. But I used to wait for a bus in -20 to -30 when I was working for Nestlé. It was really fun when the bus was 15 minutes late. Nowadays, I would love to do that again if it meant I had a job.

    Today...

Come to Canada. Right now it is averaging between -5 and 4 degrees outside where I am and its just getting to the middle of fall. Yep, -4 here last I checked. It feels good.
  15. I haven't been able to watch it yet, but I do want to see it (Karl Urban fan here, too).
  16. Most of my group projects went like that. One or two people do all of the work while everybody else does nothing. I've even been the one to do nothing (the rest of the group didn't even tell me when they were getting together to work on it), despite the fact I hated not earning the good mark I got on it. It was a law project in which we had to pick a children's story and find charged to be laid against the protagonist. We chose Goldilocks. I can only think of one exception, really, where I did the researching/writing and my friend made props for the presentation aspect. I'm only even counting that because we were the only pairing, the rest had 3+ people. So basically, to be on topic: Group projects and getting grades I didn't earn. For the reasons why, see my first paragraph.
  17. Yeah, I forgot to add the reply to that part. I only ever had one person brag about it, and I didn't really like that person to begin with. He just happened to sit beside me in Math and I was about a week ahead so I helped him. It still didn't bother me when he bragged, though. As I have said, school (for me) was never about good grades. My final year of high school I did maybe 10 minutes of homework for all 6 classes combined. Amazingly, the only time I was in danger of failing a class was the year before. And that was only because the teacher clearly favoured the girls. My friend, who NEVER got lower than an A, finished that class barely above a D.
  18. Neither one of those bother me. I always put more effort into it when helping somebody else, so it makes sense that they would get a better mark. And as that last sentence implies, I never did care much about my own grades, so long as they stayed above failing. I can definitely see why it would bother people, though. This, on the other hand, bothers me. I have had to buy at least a dozen toothbrushes this year because mine keep disappearing. And I seem to run out of shampoo awfully fast for somebody with very little hair. If you use my shampoo, that's fine, but own up to it and buy me a new bottle now and then.

What are you performing? he is performing a stage adaptation of the hit cheerleading movie bring it on, where he plays all the characters in an eddie murphy nutty professor type of way I hated that movie, but I would love to see that.
  20. Nah, wasn't serious. And yeah, they are.

    Today...

I was in the store, staring at Pokémon X two days ago and walked out without it. I would have bought it but most of us have started Christmas shopping already and I don't really want two copies of the games. Sometimes I hate Christmas.

    Today...

I think today is the day I finally buy a light bulb for my lamp. The old one hasn't worked for well over a month. Actually, scratch that, it may have to wait another day. We are supposed to get a new washing machine today. As some of you may know, the old one hasn't worked in almost a month. Oh, and to make it even more exciting, my aunt's SUV is currently at my uncle's (her brother's) house so I won't be able to con anybody into giving me a ride to the store (I don't drive, no real desire to nor any real opportunity) so I will have to walk to the corner and pay extra when I do get the light bulb. None of that is actual complaint, just observation. I don't really NEED the light bulb, I have a perfectly good light on the ceiling. Walking to the corner is also not a bad thing, since it gives me exercise and is usually quicker than getting a ride to a cheaper place. It is currently 2:47 am and I can't sleep.
  23. Kessel is tied for second in points and 3rd in goals and both goalies are in the top 10 for save percentage (Reimer 2nd with .949 and Bernier t-7th with .933). Not to mention, in a strange twist, Phaneuf tied for 4th in +/-. Also, former Leaf Steen leading in goals. And they finally beat a "C" team!
  24. Apart from the Red Gyarados, I have only ever had one shiny. A slugma in FireRed. It's long since deleted, though. Still haven't bought any Gen VI, though.
