  1. ROFL, that's one of the best ones here.
  2. Welcome to RuneScape. Cute. But deadly. (examine baby bear)

  4. The current market price is 6.8-7M... so you got ripped off by 500k. But that's something a merchant would be really angry, not so much an average player. If you intend to keep it for a year or two, then you made a good investment anyways, the prices rise exponentially as time goes.
  5. The simple reason is that they are, by far, the most profitable. You'll make tens of millions if you train on them to 99, while training on other stuff will not be nearly as profitable.
  6. Or you can just not be lazy and do the damn Contact quest and be able to bank straight in Sophanem
  7. Well, we can discuss the question of fact or the question of law. I support you on the question of fact -- advertising a clan does not warrant a perm mute. But Jagex is always paranoid that some idiot noob will be scammed out of his account by going to a bad site *AS IT ALWAYS HAPPENS*, so they adopted this 0-tolerance policy of blocking ALL sites and punishing breakers of this rule *very* severely, and you just have to learn to live with it. On the point of law, however, saying "it's easy to say <> until you get perm muted" is not valid. Just because I wouldn't like to be one who got punished, doesn't mean the punishment is wrong in principle.
  8. Sorry but IMO all barrows are ugly :( Barrows are for utility... Want style, wear full dragon (or 3a)
  9. Actually it's just the WEBSITE you shouldn't be able to post. If you named IN-GAME your clan as "tip it', then you should be able to refer to the in-game clan name itself. Just to be unambigious, you should probably name your clan "tip it" or "tip iters" without the dot (tip it, not tip.it) so it doesn't look like a website address.
  10. Clan chat = very good idea, and for once Jagex did something the RIGHT way from the start, BEFORE doing it wrong first and having a permanently screwed system to suffer the consequences of. Many people wanted a "full" clan system, with registered clans and chat channels... I think that would have been a really BAD idea, because we'd suffer all the same consequences that other MMORPG clans suffer - lots of registered "dead" clans, all good names "reserved" (read: stolen), lots of deadweight on the servers, and artificial weight attached to clan movement (people don't want to leave a semi-dead clan because it's hard to get back in, therefore contributing even more to deadweight clan problems) The existing system is very good. Dynamic, flexible, no strings attached to joining and leaving clans... Just in the spirit of RS (in a good way). --- Interface update: Didn't like. Not that it HUGELY matters, but I think the previous semi-comical, lighthearted interface style (which spans across everything, from character designs to interface buttons to even quests and such) was a signature point of RS, something it had unique. The new interface graphics moves away from that to fake formalism. RS will never be able to "outclass" (in a posh sense) most other RPGs, but it had an advantage of outhumoring / outcomicing them, and for some reason decided to give away that advantage and become another "classy drone". Oh well, not a big thing. The net sum of updates is still way positive.
  11. I'd _STRONGLY_ recommend starting and finishing that quest in a single go, so you unlock the safe tunnel passage and don't have to walk through the HELLISH underground pass. Through all my journies in Runescape far and close, I have never seen a worse place to travel through than UP... And this is coming from someone who owns a Quest Cape.
  12. If you don't want to spend money on either prayer or agility potions, I'd recommend the lightest armor you have that's still good (weight counts!), a few antipoisons (regular ones is fine), and the rest filled with cheap food (don't use anything more expensive than lobbies, tuna is good) You won't be attacking, so weapon doesn't matter.
  13. Read & comment here about my suggested update to the alching system, that would fix this problem among others: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=685602
  14. See this is the hard part to answer.. I'm sure some people will like it because they can take those few seconds they gain with alch x and turn it into a message to friends, or a quick check on their stocks or whatever they want to do with it. But others may like it the way we have it. If it is changed there is the chance that there will be a massive uproar, not about the Alch x thing, but with the only real items can be alched thing. I see where you're coming from with the notes shouldn't equal the actual item when alched, and I agree with this, but I think it will cause an uproar, or it may not. I think adding this could be a new experience for some players to actually do a little bit of work for their levels. And I do like it that it may stop some autoers.. Well, some things are good to do even if they are unpopular. Like the pest control thing. Yes people had a "riot" and stuff, but everybody knew something HAD to be done about the old PC and way it impacted RS, and it's nice Jagex had courage to act despite unpopularity with those which were negatively affected. Unfortunately making Alch X while retaining option of alching notes would really make it too easy. Right now the "getting tired from clicking" factor is the only thing stopping people from levelling magic way too quick. I don't think this is a GOOD way to stop it (in fact I think it's a horrible way to stop it), but if we go ahead and add alch X, we need SOME kind of stopper to compensate, and having to periodically go to the bank seems like a much better stopper than "my fingers are dead" one.
  15. RSOF code: 24-25-13-49031373 There are a couple of problems with the current alching system: - Is extremely repetitive, monotonous, and boring activity. Probably the ONLY activity in the game which you can and have to do for hours upon hours without even moving a single step. - Favors bots, not genuine players. Bots can easily macro the same procedure of alching items, it is probably one of the easiest tasks to program a macro for, unlike tele macroing there are no Abyssal Services random to stop macros, and bots don't get tired, but real players do. - Can cause Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) due to extreme repetitiveness. - Is not realistic (how can you "alch" paper notes for gold)? I can understand shopkeepers paying real money for notes (it's like paying in cheque redeemable in bank), but doesn't make sense for a spell to "al*h" a piece of paper note into gold. - No warning, can accidentaly alch even a phat! Solution (must be implemented together): 1. Disable alching notes. Must carry real items to to able to alch them. 2. Allow "Alch X" for both high and low alchemy. Where X can alch up to 10 items at once. The speed of Alch X should be comparable with the current alch speed, don't slow it down twice like you did with fletching, because having to go to bank every 28 items will already provide some cooloff period. Advantages: - Less monotonous, have to visit bank periodically - Harder to macro - Much less repetitive clicking, less chance of developing CTS - Can chat while alches going on, no need to click and click and click 100% of time. - Goes in line with other Alch X developments, like fletching/herblore, which did a good job at removing repetitive useless clicks - More realistic, no more magic turning of paper notes into gold - Chance to correct mistakes without accidentaly alching so Answers to common complaints: Complaint: This will slow me down! Answer: Alch X should take as fast as normal alching does. Since you save about 1/2 secs between each spell (right now it takes about 1/2 secs to click on the next item to alch before the next alch starts), you'll have about 10 secs left at the end of inventory. This is enough to open bank window and get next batch of items. Complaint: Now I have to be near a bank to alch stuff! Answer: And so you should. It simply doesn't make any sense for you to be able to alch a bunch of paper notes. Do you really think the spell magically teleports the note to the bank, exchanges it for the item, alches the item, then teleports the gold into your pocket? Complaint: This makes alching too simple! It takes away the challenge! Answer: What do you mean by "challenge"? Having to click in the same spot 100,000 times is not a challenge RS should strive for. The only thing you'll "earn" from that challenge is the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Quests are a challenge. Beating a tough monster is a challenge. Clicking on the same spot a hundred thousand times is NOT a challenge, it is a nuisance and we should strive to remove those kinds of nuisances. idea> Of course on the RSOF I posted a bunch of rules and adresses to "stupid" responses like flaming, but tip.iters should really know better. I'd still like to hear your opinion on whether you think this idea might be good or not. If you disagree, I'd be grateful to see some points which I didn't cover, rather than just saying "I don't like it". I also realize many people might find it unpopular because it may slow down their particular method of training. My question is more global -- will this idea benefit the whole of RS in general, rather than some alchers in particular?
  16. Harrassment is reportable under rule 1. Now, "harrassment" is NOT the same as "being told what you don't want to hear". Use ignore for the second option.
  17. You do realize the King Leonidas for the 300 film probably isn't what he really looked nor dressed like? Not even close? But if you want to replicate the film, then probably your best match would be Tyras Helm (nice match), Red Cape, Obby Shield (only round shield that looks remotely close), a hasta (only 1-handed spear you can find in RS), Fury amulet (shape matches pretty close), and there really are no boots in RS that would be close to what he was wearing.
  18. Every significant content-type update I know has been Monday/Tuesday. Big updates (and a completely new feature like clan chat IS a big update, much bigger from a technological perspective than for example a new quest) are likely to have bugs and things that need to be fixed. It makes perfect sense to introduce it Monday morning when the Jagex office is full of staff and they have time to spot and fix bugs. I imagine that on weekends/holidays Jagex only runs minimal staff to keep the game working as it is. The only updates that happen late in the week or on weekends are bug/exploit fixes, or other "emergency" updates for which timing matters.
  19. Stone - for showoff only. Vague promise by Jagex of having some unknown bonus added an unspecified time into the future, which doesn't sound convincing to me at all to buy one. Zerker & Warrior - improve your strength and attack respectively I'd say you'd want one of the above -only- when fighting monsters that give no or next to no loot (or at least nothing you'd bother picking up), AND you either fight in a safe minigame or there is absolutely no chance the monsters will be able to kill you (and by "able", I mean that if you lag for 60 secs, getting constantly pounded by the monster, and without eating any food, you'd be pretty sure you wouldn't die. Think ESPECIALLY hard if you fight in multicombat - things can go out of hand VERY quickly if you lag. Some slayer monsters go to this category, as does Pest Control / Barbarian Assault / other safe combat minigames. For majority of fights, that involve either -any- level of danger or -any- loot that you'd bother picking, go with either a ring of life or ring of wealth. Both end up paying much more than the advantage you'd get with zerker/warrior rings. Ring of life is especially used for blanket cases. ALWAYS wear one UNLESS you have a good reason to wear a different one. This includes not just fights but skill training, merchanting, quests, and any other activity in RS. Reason is - you can always get lagged, can always get a bad random (I heard Sandwich lady teleing people to wildy), and always have some other bad turn of events. Ring of life offers a chance of surviving, which includes your max hp, max enemy hit, and a bunch of other random variables. Overall, for a 70hp char, your chances range from 40% survival (attack by DDS spec from an expert PKer), to over 95% (most random events). The total overall average would be around 90%, which is a very, very good chance of survival.
  20. The best place to find trolls is the RSOF. Other than that, Trollheim entrance west of Death Plateau+Cannon=Ownage.
  21. Personally I think this is what will happen: Jagex will revert the option of alching notes (the way it used to be a while ago), BUT at the same time add option of Alch X. Meaning people could autoalch in groups of say 10, but when out of inventory will need to get more stuff from bank. Of course we'd have another huge riot if that happens
  22. Any clan with over 200 players on the roll is not a clan; it is a collection of characters with no real ties to each other, no hierarchy, no coordination, and no functioning as a unit. In fact, I'd say that having over 100 people already starts causing these problems. If your "clan" is so huge, you have bigger issues to solve than having a clan chat. Other entities (like forum communities, for example "tip.iters community", loose merchanting associations, questions&answers channels, etc, can sure hold a lot of members. But this means it is not a "clan" but a "channel". There is a huge difference between loosely associated player groups (like all tip.iters) and SPECIFIC clans with clear communication between members, rules that are followed, events that are attended uniformely and on a regular basis, etc.
