Errr... Canafis telly portal alone is about 1 mill in cost (200 laws, 100 bloods), doesnt matter if you already had those runes or not, you need to take the selling cost into account. Anyways, Im in a stop phase at the moment. But in a few days Ill plank up 15k oak, and probably sell some (if price is still ok), or use them all to get to 73ish from my current lvl of 51 :D Thats 3.75 mill + Id say about 3 mil spent so far (with the price of runes, rooms, planks, steel bars, all factored in) Although with all the tree seeds Im getting from chopping my own oaks, + the teak from miscellania, I might be able to break even overall. Of course every room from now on would be completely empty, and I would need to figure out how to bring more income in to build, but hopefully by then item prices will be back up to more normal ranges, and I can sell some extra whips/items I have sitting around.

4 safe range spots, depending on where you set up you get a few spawns you can pick off without moving. It takes a little bit of cost, since youll need maybe 1k broad arrows to start out, but the drops will pay for the arrows every time. If you dont want to melee for slayer, kurasks are a very nice assignment.
-
Thats how slayer works.... Every few tasks youll get the highest possible task you can do, so if youre 75 slayer, youll be doing a lot of kurasks-- if you use lost city Slayer master. Chaeldar-> slayer dungeon tasks, Shilo-> slayer tower tasks. The only time this doesnt work is with abyssal demons when you need to be 86 to start getting them as a task. If you dont like kurasks youre in for a lot of trips to Burthorpe. I never really understood why people didnt like kurasks, theyre easy to kill with range, the drops are better then average, and unlike turoths they stay in one spot frequently so you dont run out and take damage/create lots of arrow drop spots.

what can i kill that drops lots of nature runes?
deucedeuce22 replied to donutjunkie's topic in Help and Advice
Awesome! I'm gonna buy 1k Laws for 300k and go and get 7k Natures! :D Its not 7 natures a pile, its two piles: one four natures, one three. Its also in a pretty dangerous spot. -

Are nechs now more profitable then abbys.... ????
deucedeuce22 replied to buffrichie's topic in General Discussion
Nechys are more crowded then abbys lately...More often then not when Im on a nechy assignment I end up going over to demons instead. The only time I ever sold rune boots was for 166k. I tried swapping them even up for 1 yew or palm seed each and got no takers. Rune boots are definitely not more profitable then whips. From 80-wherever I am now in slayer (85 and a half I think) I got maybe 25 pairs of rune boots in total. I still have 15 pairs banked, sold 6, gave away at least 4 more. People really dont need more then 2 sets of rune boots, 1 for placeholding. No one would pk in them, when climbing boots are better and cheaper. In the approx~ month Ive been 85 slayer Ive had 6 whips, and im not even up there all that much, maybe all together a total of 25 game hours. A few times it only took an hour to get one, the other times it took 4 hours plus. Of course Ive never sold a whip either, I just bank em :P But there will always be whip buyers, rune boots are harder to pawn off. -
Isnt. Used a log on bridge with axe in inventory. Got message need both hammer and axe in inventory to fix bridge. Couldn't find a hammer on that side anywhere. Not in inventory, EQUIPPED. Equip the bronze axe you get off the zombie, chop 3 logs from the dead trees, use the 3 logs on the broken bridge.

old man, hard route annoying: you fight 6 Vampyre juvenates (lvl 119).. Plus once you fail that task if you choose to abandon it without killing the encessary juvenates you get put into a dead end swamp area that has no seeable way out.

I gots me a blue reward token LOL Did long route with 3 lvl 80 snakes, was very easy :( Gonna go cash it in to see what the reward is for blue token. You start mini game right at gate to the Burg, youll see some travelers with packs on. EDIT: reward was 18 silver bars (in certs) :D

I tested out the special attack bar before finishing the quest...on werewolves it said this isnt effective on this NPC, on the things you use sickle for it allowed you to hit them with staff :( Maybe it does something different after quest is over though.

if that's true then explain why the prices of rares exploded after the latest mass ban. people thought many many phats were deleted with that ban and therefore makeing them rarer and now more expensive This still doesnt make a blue hat more "rare" then any other one. If anything, after that mass ban, the prices of the cheapest hats skyrocketed because the cheaters were buying the cheaper ones for greater profit. The profit margin is far greater on a lesser valued hat then a blue one. There arent that many people willing to spend approx 200 mill on a blue hat, where as a red hat youll find tons of buyers, enabling quick sell and resell. Blue hats were always far above the other 5 colors (post-dupe). The whole price boom didnt affect anything, since every hat had a similar increase. Actual "rarity" and perceived "rarity" is not the same thing. Peoples perceptions that many hats were deleted due to the mass bans led to a price boom. If any hats were even deleted Ive explained why they were probably the lesser valued colors, and not the blues and whites in the game world. Making the lesser valued colors more rare. NOT BLUES. I think you fail to grasp my main point: BLUE PARTY HATS ARENT MORE RARE THEN ANY OTHER HAT. There is abolutely no reason theyre far higher in value then the next highest (white), with an approx 60 mill difference. If anything blue hats should be more in line with purple ones, seeing as the original dupe created almost as many blues as purples. Explain to me why a blue hat is worth that much more then the next highest hat if you will please.... People getting played by the merchants is all it is. I wish jagex would just come out with some numbers already to show just how ridiculous this perception that blue is worth so much more then the other hats because of its "rarity". EDIT: didnt realize blue was 65 million more then white now :P (changed from 50 mill)

For everyone saying pink was the most duped hat, and thats its the most common and therefore the least valuable... You DO realize that blues were duped almost as much as pinks, being the 2nd highest valued hat at the time. I would venture to say that green is actually the "rarest" party hat out there, due to the ugly color and relatively low value at the time. "Rarity" has no effect on the price of party hats, plain and simple. Price is just determined by who wants to buy what color at what time. Blue is about to hit its peak, in which turn the rest of the colors will gradually rise to meet that point as well. It comes to a certain point where theres only a few buyers, and the sellers think theyll continue to rise....meaning almost no sales. You can see it currently with mask sets that nearly doubled in price in one week, and now are dropping back down. Its a merchants world, you are all just getting played in it :D

More than one type of heralded trimming for each metal?
deucedeuce22 replied to SoulAttacker's topic in General Discussion
lol, n33b. why haven't you come to KoFh? *points to recruitment board* And Tj, I remember how much you were cashing in daily when TT were first put in game. I don't think anyone was as lucky as you were in getting god items. Where was the word "useless" then? :P I plead ignorance. NO one ever told me about the new group :D -

I have a black one...it has red/gold squares I too lazy to upload a pic though, so you can find me in game in server 36 lol -
And always avoid mage bank....I learned that yesterday :P I hadnt been pkd on a clue in ages, just got a little too sure of myself :( And I didnt want to run back down 25 lvls on the west side since I was ina time crunch :P Go the long way around, or go under the mage bank to ardy lever, but NEVER go in front of it. Although next clue I try Im going to take a ring of stone and change into rock in front of mage bank and see what happens....Im guessing I could stay a rock long enough to logout, or see how many leave to grab a pickaxe to set me free, in which case I could make a dash for webs and ardy lever.

Your credibility is shot. A barrows item every five runs?? Well technically this guy CAN get better but averages the same: I am sorry to say that this is a mathmatical impossibility unless you have a magic number. Did I say I have a magic number? I dont get the exact same KC every single time, it varies from 10-15 depending on how much I need to leech for the next run. If you are going to say something stupid at least back it up. This whole "mathematical impossibility" line doesnt really fly. Nothing in rune is a "mathematical impossibility" since drops deal with odds. Odds arent always exact and precise and neat. Come with me sometime. I dont do trips very often, so in all reality its not as great as it sounds, but I assure you that this is completely true. I might go every few days, for a few trips at a time. I dont claim to have gotten "over 400 items", one every 5 trips. Just because some people have greater luck at Barrows doesnt mean you can question their results. Everything in this game is based on a set of odds, sometimes you just beat the odds more often then not. Ive never had a drag med or half shield drop either, am I lying about that too??? Eventually my run of Barrows luck will end, but its been a great ride while I still have it. Do I need to start screenshotting everything....I think my credibility on these boards is pretty sound. I can post my last three trips if that would help any, but I have the feeling people are so set in their ways theyd think I faked them. Do you not realize that Abyssal whips are dropped on a timer? Ask most lvl 85 slayers, they can tell you for a fact that whips will drop at certain times of the day far more often. And while Im not saying Barrows operates like this, there is definite precedent that certain times of the day affect certain drops. As for the KC affecting which sets of runes you end up with, thats never been the case with me. But as I posted at the end, its all randomized luck, and what works for some may not work for others. Stop trying to figure out things that probably arent there, and just do Barrows the way you like, how you like, and be happy with whatever rewards might come your way :)

I got a kick out of this thread. Its always cool to listen to the theories and superstitions on how the chest works. Mine? I still use a wealth ring (even though Jagex said it doesn't matter) and I don't kill bloodworms (because the examine says "Better keep your distance") Hehe. Let me talk about the facts, though. What I have quoted is not accurate. The brothers drop either a "set" of minds, chaos, bloods, or deaths. This "set" is as below: Minds - 360ish Choas - 120ish Deaths - 80ish Bloods - 40ish Bolt Racks - 35ish The "ish" means its a random amount.. like the choas could be anywhere from 108 to 130, for instance. The monsters below drop a small amount of coins, which also goes into the chest. The kill count improves your chances of getting a better "set". So if your kill count is 6, you're more likely to get minds and choas. If your kill count is around 30, you're more likely to get bloods and bolt racks. Also, I've been meaning to make a post on this, but I've been super busy. THE KILL COUNT INCREASES YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING A BARROWS ITEM. Yes, its true. With 400 runs at a kill count of 10-20, I got an item in the chest in one in every 18 chests open, (always killing all six, which makes a difference too, per Jagex) as you all know from my Barrows Guide. Well, lately, I've done another 300 runs with 20+ kill count every time, still killing all six, and I've averaged an item in every 12 chests. Thats a significant difference. So, there you go. I will start doing runs now with over 30 kill count to see if that high of a number still makes a significant difference. Keep in mind, if you're gonna do an experiment with kill count, you have to do A LOT OF RUNS for the numbers to be worth anything. The sample has to be large enough to prove anything. You can't go 10 times and make any conclusions. My 400 runs still has a large "margin of error" statistically speaking. The expert has spoken. :P ON TOPIC: The chest does not remember WHAT tunnel monsters you kill, only how many... and they only drop coins anyway. As much of an "expert" you might think you are.....Your theory on "sets" of runes is way off. I dont get KC unless Im leeching for the next run, so very rarely do I go over a 15 KC, in your theory, I would be getting a lot more minds and chaos then I actually do. Ive never been a fan of KC, and Ive always been the first one to point out that it doesnt matter in the chest. Take the morons who always said that killing bloodworms and skeletons improved your chances for half keys and drag meds...even though they never could show proof of it. I also am one to wear ring of wealth, even though its not supposed to affect the brothers drops...what else are you going to put there? Maybe a seers ring, but in all reality ring of wealth is your only choice. I did 7 trips yesterday, never getting over 15 KC: I take the same gear ever single time (21 prayer pots, 112 shark, 750 death 3k mind) I got positive death runes, which is admittedly rare on a short run like this, and bloods 6 of the 7. I actually lost mind runes. And 2 items, (on trips 1 and 3 if it matters). I have other screen shots that follow in similar lines. I average an item every 4-6 opens, and its been like this for ages. I havent had a huge streak of no items for the longest time (ie. if I go for my usual run of 21 prayer pots, I will come out with 3-5 items. The luck comes in what items I get. Just take everything as it is, randomized luck. Do Barrows as you see fit, people should stop trying to figure things out that arent there. The useful information out of Leesters post is that the brothers drop specific number of runes or bolt racks for their drops, which I knew but never got around to figuring out the exact numbers of it. What works for you may not work for other people, so take all Barrows "facts" at face value.

Blue p hats were ~20 mill when drag chains came out. Drag chains price started dropping because you could solo Kalphy queen very easily. Thats the last time I traded for a blue hat, so theres my old price point :P They said at the time of the dupings, that even after the dupe there were less hats available then they dropped on Christmas. Id estimate 1k sets total out there, with more purples and blues then any other. Almost every hat in the market isnt from a person who stashed it from before, its someone who buys and sells to make a quick coin. There arent a whole lot of private sellers out there, its the same hats being traded over and over again.

10 runs today: Hammers, Verac skirt, guthan spear :D Skirt and spear were in same chest too :) And the Hammers came the trip right before that, so essentially it was 3 items in 2 trips with the other 8 nothing of interest.

Post Your Barrows Inventory and Set-up!
deucedeuce22 replied to mdogg33's topic in General Discussion
*Yawn*, use a real barrows set ;) My setup (which lasts 2 rounds per prayer pot): Helm: Guthan Ammy: Fury Body: Guthan/black hide Legs: Guthan/black hide Gaunts: black hide Boots: Mage Cape/shield: Obby Arrow slot: rune arrows Ring: wealth Wep: whip/mage bow/slayer staff Inventory: 1 prayer pot(4), slayer dart spells, 12 shark, guthan spear, ecto, spade, noted shark/prayer pots, coins. Some days I swap black hide for Karils. 2 doses of prayer for Dharok, the rest I can kill pretty easily wearing armour and not praying. -
Land Sales Would Save the Runescape Economy

a lot of those who live off high alchemy would move to merchanting, not a good idea whats wrong with merchanting? The money to merchant is only available because of high alchemy, get rid of high alchemy, merchants quickly lose the ability to make huge profit, because no one can afford to jack up the prices anymore... If you cant make money off high alchemy anymore, are you going to spend 5 million coins for a Halloween mask? Wheres that 5 million coins coming from when high alchemy is gone? Youll spend the money into other skills. So until the money gets taken out of the system, various skill lvling items get a price jump. BUT, once all that money disappears via whatever monkey sink, consumables then drop down in price considerably, because the ability to make the market fluctuate rapidly is now gone without high alchemy to back it up. Merchants just exploit the huge amounts of money rolling in from high alchemy, thats all. And since almost any member can abyss natures, prices will continue to rise. Getting rid of high alchemy cuts everyone off right where it needs to be done the most. Merchants cant dominate the market, perceived values of various holiday items drop as the money disappears, and the game is restored to what is a more balanced level. And no one would "own RuneScape". Most of the top banks have a value tied into the fluctuating rare market. Ask any decent merchant, theyre losing money when they have it in coins instead of tradables. Disable the rare market, bye bye rare hoarders. Theyd be hoarding for a non-existant market, in which no one has the coins to buy their rares anymore. And no im not anti-merchant, theyre taking advantage of what the game presented them. Jagex doesnt have the sense to do it though. -
Land Sales Would Save the Runescape Economy
deucedeuce22 replied to r2-pleasent's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Or just get rid of high alchemy :P Id like to see the high alchemy spell change from alching into coins into Tokkul. Imagine the game world were theres only a limited amount of coins coming into it....of course people with high piles of coins would benefit in the short run, as prices plummet. But most people tend to "invest" in rares, so even the higher valued banks are usually relatively low in coins. Bump low alchemy to where high alchemy is currently, then add the alchemy to Tokkul at a higher lvl. Money still comes in, albeit at a far slower pace... Runecrafting (and then the abyss) caused the inflation. Itll never be fixed, they cant create enough money sinks in the game now to reverse everything. When a person alone can alch several million into the game a day, who cares about a monkey sink. Only another mass dupe plus my suggested changes can help. But as we all know, Jagex would never decide to "fix" things. Once natures became equivalent to the value of dirt due to the ease of getting them, Jagex shouldve adjusted things. Im done, this should be moved to rants :D -
Barrows! I had 5 mimes in 2 days. And they usually appear right when Im fighting the last brother too, which is highly annoying. You get plenty of the good events at barrows, a lot of genies/mimes.
