  1. Ive got some new photos, for those who like them. I would really appreciate it if you post, I dont like 400 views. Besides, if you are reading this it isnt much work to post. Just tell me what to improve, which ones do you like, which ones dont. :) First, a few shots from a while ago. These are made today: I didnt see this guy at first, but the photo turned out great:
  2. Closest as I could get. Just picked some clothes that looked good :)
  3. The time has come. My grandfather passed away at 7:55. He lived from 1925 to 2007. My parents went to the hospital, we could come later if we wanted. Me and my brother and sister stayed home, playing games with a neigbour. My father called us, telling that it would be better to stay home. It would be better to remind him as we reminded him, because he would sleep with his mouth wide open sometimes. And we played games, killing time. Then my parents got home, and told everything. My parents, my uncle, grandmother and all other relatives (except the children) were there. He was still sleeping. Then, a sunbeam lighted my grandfathers face. My uncle said: 'Thats the light, you need to go that way'. Then an aunt of mine started talking about a rainbow she had seen while getting to the hospital. They were all quiet, and my grandfather stopped breathing. All of our prayers worked, he died peacefully and with no pain. I will not make anymore religious phrases, that would get me into a descussion :) I feel like I have given this a place in my heart, I feel relieved. I end with something my grandfather said, one day before:
  4. I thought number 3000 was still far away #-o Just leave it to your imagination, what kind of shapes look familiar? the idea was to add your own thing to it, with new colors, maybe an animation, to make it a whole new thing. (If I look at the image, I see a face at the right... but it could be a rocket also, I dont know :) And the shape left to it... could be a monster, a snake. Its just what you want it to be.)
  5. Hey everyone. I was browsing The Gallery, on this vacation day. I came across xxbamxx topic, with a skating-vector. Kashi had made something new out of it, by animating it. I thought: what if someone posted a simple thing, with shapes only to manipulate into a whole new thing? Here it is. I have no idea how this will turn out, a 6 pager or 10 posts. The picture: Go Nuts! \ Examples:
  6. No, this is not an ad :) I am saving up to buy my own computer. I am sick of my parents computer, its full of virusses and the harddisk has 2,5 gigs left. Its total rubbish, Im ready for my own computer. Now there are alot of terms that go with a new computer, I dont really know there meaning. Could someone advice me on what I should pay attention to when buying a new computer? Another question: Could I buy a decent computer for 670 dollars?
  7. Thanks everyone for supporting me through this difficult time. (Especially Goddess  ) And Errdoth, ive listened to the song you gave me :) This morning we got the news that he will pass away this day. I have just been to the hospital, for the last time. He was sleeping. We saw that his heart was beating very strong, because of the fact that he used to bike alot. (6 weeks ago he was still riding his bike) I feel like I have accepted it, I gave it a place in my heart.
  8. Do you have your exams this year? No, next year. (They estimate me older, I guess :-k ) During a student exchange week, I had to take care of a Norwegian Girl for a week. When I was tired of talking, she asked me: Are you shy? I meen, why do you ask that? I said, well yes, sort of.
  9. Congratulations :) I liked beeing 15, my best year so far. In my 16 year life :)
  10. This is a normal screenshot, but you may post fake screenshots. -Locked
  11. Grief is a strange beast, everyone deals with it differently. I am very verbal about my losses, it helps me cope. I never needed help to deal with it, although my wife did. I dealt with it best by talking about them, the experience, and found comfort in helping other parents going through the same experience. Point being, everyone deals with grief differently. This is the first time a family member passes away, I havent made this topic because finally something happened in my life. Yesterday evening, when I went away, my father and grandmother visited my grandfather. They have had a good talk, my father could talk clearly with my grandfather. They have talked about the fact that he knows where he will go to, to the city with golden streets. At the end they prayed, and they were glad that they have a son who supports them so good.
  12. My grandfather is seriously ill. He has got lungcancer with ... to his liver, the doctors cant cure it. We have just been at the hospital, visiting him and saying a last farewell. When we were there, he could talk but sometimes he would just say nothing and fall asleep for a little while. It was so strange, to see him lying there on a hospital bed. I didnt know what to say, you think that you want to say a thousand things but you cant think of one. He did tell me that I looked good with a cap on my head, because I didnt want to put gell in my hair on a lazy sunday. :) And he remarked that we I used to call him 'Grandpa Koekoek', because of the Koekoeks Clock (Dutch word) which me and my grandfather used to play with at his basement. And it all went so fast. 2 weeks ago he was still in church, walking around and talking to people like he always did. I cant understand it, and get used to the fact that he is ill. My grandmother was a lung patient, so we all expected that she would die before my grandfather did. We all thought that our tough grandfather would beat himself through this. He will die at the age of 82, which is quite old. There is nothing you can do about it, everybody will die one day. I dont know if anyone cares, but this helps me getting over the mourning process.
  13. I would also suggest, try different points of view. What camera do you use?
  14. It has to be an idea of your own, every original pixel signature started with an own idea. We dont know what subjects you like, you could try to look at alot of pixel signatures and the idea will be there in no time. -Locked

  17. I wonder who is a fan of Fatboy Slim, I feel like Im the only one around here. I discovered Fatboy Slim because of Rockafella Skank, a song used in Fifa 99 :P What can I say, I love his songs. His use of sounds, rips from 60s music, raps, everything. His kind of making music is unique, thats what I like about him. I dont think there is a single song I dont like. Fatboy Slim quit his career, his last album is Greatest Hits - Why Try Harder. Who has got his last album? Do you like his music? Why, why not? Discuss.
  18. My mother and father: 100% Gospel. No wonder, my dad gets free CDs because he is the (second) owner of a Gospel Label company. My mother was and is a fan of Abba though, but she doesnt listen to it. Sister: From very old to Gospel, sometimes I dont see why she listens to it. (Like DHT - Listen to your Heart, ( Aerosmith - I dont wanna miss a thing, Enrique Eglesias - Hero, etc) Brother: About the same music taste as me. Me: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fatboy Slim (I must be the only one here who likes Fatboy Slim :P ) And sometimes, like once in 2 months something from the charts  (My father doesnt like the fact that I listen to RHCP, I tried to listen to Christian Metal/Rock bands but I just dont like those.)
  19. To be honest, I forget everything after the test. The test is like a delivery point, where I give everything I learned away. It might sound stupid, but I have no trouble so far with the short-term manner.
  20. I heard about him a while ago, but it is still incredible. He must be very patient to make that, let alone 100% stress-free. :)
  21. My tips on people who have to learn/The way I learn: -Even if you have 100 words to learn, you can do it. Dont think you will never manage to learn all those words, because you can. -Learn with your brains. By saying that, I meen stay on subject, repeat the words over and over again by saying them. Stay focused. -Start learning 4 to 5 words, if you are convinced that you know them go to the next 5 words. If you are done with those, go back to word 1 and test yourself untill word 10. -If you have an own computer in your room, turn it off. It is too much distraction anyway. (I dont have an own compter, but my friends who do have one study less because of it.) -I usually take something to eat, sometimes something to drink to my room. -Another thing that might help you: I dont sleep if I have drank a can of energy drink, strangely enough I can when I learn for a test week. It also helps you to spend your energy on learning, not to other things. -Change from subject, and repeat that. - Dont start a day before you have the test. I have tried to do that, but it doesnt work. I know, it can be hard to study for something you have in 3 days, but it will be worth it. -If you dont want to study, think of the fact that this is your only oppertunity to learn. After the test, you cant learn. And you wouldnt like it if you failed for the test, while you could have learned more. (There might be some spelling errors, my keyboard is allmost broke.) There, my 2 cents :)
  22. The bird one looks very good, especially because a 12 year old has made it. You have got some talent, keep on drawing! =D> Since you are still working on it, I dont have anything to say about the second piece. About the first one: The outlines are very rough, and hard to erase afterwards. Try to make the outlines soft, so you can erase it if you have made a mistake. If you are convinced that it looks good, you go for the hard lines.
