  1. seems better for pking.... f1 and f5 are the distance of my pinkie and my index, which are the only two I really switch between when pking(special attack and inventory)
  2. You can use programmable keys yourself (Logitech G11) You don't need a G11 or any specific type of keyboard to do it. just edit the scan codes in the Reg to remap your keyboard. But you have to remember about all the idiots who can't use Google, you have to remember the majority of RS players... No, no, no... that's the noob's way out. Here's how you do it: Make a program with a global key hook, and trap all the function keys. Now, get the active window's title. If it starts with "RuneScape - the massive online adventure game by Jagex Ltd. - ", then go on to your remapping function. Here, do a switch statement and do a SendKeys for each function key you want to remap to another. Problem solved, and it doesn't mess up your entire computer. sounds like VB :)... However could be flagged by Jagex's "detection system" (assuming it exists), as a macro
  3. um, this could possibly be the most useful item in the game. and 50 charges is a lot
  4. Yes, yes it does. And possibly even it's own page on Tip.It's website(assuming there are quite a few)
  5. I was under the impression that it would teleport you to the location of the object? Am I mistaken?
  6. or if you like Runescape and enjoy RTS's, then you can improve you're RS account while enjoying a simplified RTS.
  7. Jagex tends to try new things in terms of updating interfaces... as for minigames, I'm pretty sure back in 2007 there is a "whats your favorite new content" poll, and the majority picked new skill, followed by new minigames(however, it seems like the game is going mini-game crazy now)... It seems like Jagex is trying to create a hybrid genre out of runescape. It's now a MMORPG complete with RTS, Hack'nSlash, Boardgames(games room, which never gets used)...whats next? FPS!!! :) I'll probably wait until the hype dies down to try it.
  8. The amount being risked is irrelevant. It can be 100k and people will still do the 26k trick cause they're not losing 75k gp when they're building up EP. You have to make a way that there's a reasonably good chance that players will lose 75k gp at a minimum if they try to earn EP. Disabling Teleport is one way, but on PvP worlds that's a BIG annoyance to inflict on players. It's doable, but there'd be an outcry about it. (PS I think it's a good idea). Another is some way to prevent teleporting while in combat BESIDES teleblock. If you can teleport at level 25, then people that low should be able to stop you from teleporting and not a level 85 mage. I still think another is to let you easily find players that are building EP, then get some sort of reward for killing them. In addition, Jagex should track how much cash/items are being lost to player kills on PvP worlds. It should balance rewards against that to prevent inflation. Interesting solutions, however remember that there are inherant flaws that you might not think of. For instance, if rewards balance out, then it could be possible that people would still 26k in hopes to get the dragon claws(or a piece of it) that some poor sap just lost, and pkers would still end up getting screwed. I like your suggestions, but people need to remember that it's not an easy fix.
  9. So no word on if 26king has been fixed, and trading in items for credit is going to cause *dun*dun*dun*...inflation "gasp"... get ready for the whine bus!
  10. No, the game is flooded with money, which is what these artifacts represent. Inflation is happening because everyone and their dog is 26king. However, if it goes back to an old system where people get cash from legit kills, where infact most people have to waste many supplies(food and potions), then inflation will be no more. So artifacts are not the problem. The fact that they can be obtained without losing anything is the problem. To be completely honest, the runescape pvp system will never be as good as it was back in rsc. Sure, it requred a completely different class to pk(the pure), however it easily separated the good pker from the poor pker. Now what you get is a bunch of people standing around edge wilderness hoping for a KO and running when they run out of food(it's much too easy to escape),,
  11. yes, because I love waiting up to an hour to have to pk for any sort of gain... :wall:
  12. In the teeth of the confirmed things we've been hearing from Jagex, this sounds like wishful thinking to me. Not wishful thinking, but rather honest thinking. As this is no easy fix, if they just flat out nerf the drops, then pking will once again become a thing of the past. Pking is already screwed up. They need to fix it, not nerf it. However, there are a lot of obstacles because of RWT. This is what I predict: 1.Jagex takes a while to fix this with a well thought out plan, which ends up being crap as it will just bring another group of individuals to the whining table. 2.Jagex fixes it immediately, with the same results as above. 3.Jagex nerfs it and we are reverted back to 2007 with inflated prices and no BH.
  13. Hate to break it to you, but in order to stop inflation, everyone would need to quit doing it. If you don't enjoy it, however, training skills is good. By the way, I train skills using brawlers...two birds?
  14. I've done it quite a bit and yet to recieve a zaros statue, so thats a pretty lucky drop. Also, if you've never done it before, you have all that death potential built up(you gain some sort of potential when you die, but its no where near the amount you gain when you get a pk)... I can see Jagex not nerfing this for quite some time.
  15. Want a easy way out? Fletching Cooking and thieving. Quest cape is by no means easy, it takes a lot of varied skills raised into their mid 60's, with some into the 70's with high combat stats and puzle solving skills (provided you didn't read a guide, if so your a lazy, lazy guy). On top of that, the exp summed up is higher than 13m, the required to a 99 skill. It migh be more amusing to get, but it certainly isn't the easiest. Summing up, Quest haters are nub :( That's definitely not true, considering less than half the minimum skill requirements for a quest cape are lvl 65+. You don't even get 1M in a skill till lvl 73. To get a quest cape you probably need about 6M experience at the most. Either way, quest cape is definitely harder to get than most skill capes because besides the ~6M XP req, you have to do about 200+ (300+ ?) hours of questing. Fortunately it's very diverse compared to the monotony of obtaining most other skill capes so the time flies by [/hide] 6M exp fro the quest cape isn't true, it might caps at his minimum at 9M, but certainly not 6M. As for the quest time it depends. I would say 200-300 h with guides and 300-600h without guide. Mourning ends adds about 100h if dnoe without guide (just as i did...sigh :( I don't ussually uses guides, but I gave up after 5 days for ME. And yes, I had quest cape at one point, I would deffinately say it's more impressive then most skills capes(outside of agility, prayer, slayer..etc)...I'm too lazy to complete all the quests now.
  16. yeah, it sounds like a rts and i'm not a big fan of those...maybe a runescape fps and I'll partake :)
  17. [hide=] You know that that happens...now, right? The only time(well not "only") that anyone dies with more than 25 or 75k is while they are risking armor/pots etc while pking, and the people who kill them usually weren't standing around for hours prior to the kill, so they often get crappy drops. You seem to be contradicting yourself and agreeing with me. "Pkers" don't do this trick, they kill random people and usually lose money from what I've heard. [/hide] Exactly. I feel the same way as Est0rrath. Pking needs to be fixed. You can't just nuke the drop table and then not make it more beneficial for actual pkers. I 26ked because it was good money. Do I think it was right? No, but I took advantage of Jagex refusing to fix their system. I won't be sad when 26king is fixed. I'll more then likely be happy, assuming that pkers will no longer recieve crap drops for impressive kills.(specing out claws+whip and getting 200k in runes)... I'm not arguing for the sake of arguing...I truely do want a fix.
  18. he'll probably get in trouble saying that simply because you posted it here. (it's not good practice in business to point fingers when talking about problems with your customers)...
  19. There is retrospect to that. You could say that the game is as big as it is today thanks to PvP. In the first 4-5 years of the game, monster hunting was hardly at the level it is today. Sure, the KBD came out, and people sought after the mighty dragon medium helmet or dragon square sheild, but the scariest part of fighting the kbd was getting your team through the wild. Many players had two separate accounts, a main and a pker/staker. The main would most likely just be the first account they started that they gained some good skills with and the pker was the result of a pking system that required certain skills to be low level in order to stand a chance. Who knows if runescape would have grown to the popularity it is at without that aspect of the game. I can't say for sure, however now you treat it like the red-headed step child. We need a compromise.
  20. And when it doesn't I'll say I told u so. Stormage, I'm sick of getting treated like I'm ignorant to economics. And in fact your the one who seems ignorant. You talk supply supply supply but you forget about its counterpart, demand. When the item can be manufactured, if supply goes down, then demand goes up along with the price. With that, it will become more appealing to gather that specific item. So at some point tricking will cause the price of other items to rise where gathering those items will be more profitable which will bring the supply of those items up. Economies always have a balance. With these updates supply and demand create a sin wave fluctuasting back and fourth until they find an equilibrium. So if people would just adapt to it, eventually it will pan out. Btw, I typed this on my blackberry, so I'm sorry for any bad formatting as this was difficult in itself.
  21. they do tbh.... really boring skill hey it could be worse... at least your not a runite miner right now :wall: prices rose today
  22. They couldn't make 26king against the rules. It's a flaw in there system, and they've never banned anyone for taking advantage of something they refuse to change immediately(ie, non-bug system abuse).. 26king is a flaw, and the reason I'm doing it now is so I can get from 90-94 mage to pk. However, everyone seems to think that it spawns 10's of millions an hour. Although sometimes people get lucky(which is somewhat rare)...I ussually get more from a legit pk then 26k. Here is a pic of about 3 hours of pvp(I got sidetrack with target who refused to dm...so we fought a good 10 rounds before he koed me, and I lost about 1.5m in gear excluding the 260 shark and 30 prayer pots)..... I would say this is a little below average, as I usually get around 1.8m in items(and this comes very close)... Anyway, thats about 1.3m in cash that spawned from the other guy losing 150k...I gained 50k of that back..so 1.2m cash brought into the game by myself in a timespan of 3 hours of gameplay and a difference of about 5 hours from start to finish... I would consider myself the average 26ker, as I don't do it very seriously. I should also not that in this time I got clawed and lost a warrior ring(200k worth), which can't be used in the stats, as I don't know what that generated in cash for the person who clawed me... so anyway 1.6m in 3 hours, or 533k an hour. wow, not much of an improvement over green hides(which spawns items dbones and green hides from nothing...so I don't understand the difference between spawning gold from nothing and spawning an item from nothing, just the fact that it spawns is going to affect the price). anyway, I know I can spawn more gold from alching for three hours than 1.6m
  23. It's not that high..go do it yourself before you make assumptions... 1m an hour is a pretty good rate...sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you get unlucky. You havnt' done it it, you're just overplaying it.
