  1. First, I love your sig..even if it's hypocritical. Next, I would say that sadly the community is full of these hard-core gamers. (not just the RS community)... I pulled a few of these back when I was 12-14 years old. At that time, your young and you can do things like that during the summer. However, my freshman year of college, I always remembered coming home from parties and seeing kids up going to the bathroom, later to find out these kids played games like WoW religiously. At the time it was funny, but it really is sad. What kind of college experience is doing the things you did when you were 10-14? However, just remember it's they're life, not yours. We're all going to die someday, some of us will have lived our lives in more fullfilling ways then others.
  2. Not entirely true. Multi-threaded networks are more secure to DDoSing. Think of it as a highway. Just because traffic is busy going one way doesn't mean it is the other way. It would take multiple large bandwidth servers to DDoS a Jagex server (judging by the amount of bandwidth they would need to run something as intricate as runescape), which makes me believe that it is something wrong with the ISP's network. However, you can't rule out the posibility of it being a small group of hackers with some pretty expensive servers running on personal internet gateways. (Running through an ISP would surely get you in some deep [cabbage])
  3. I have a 12-cell battery and the thing is amazing. I'd reccomend it.
  4. I've never seen these before, but I assume they exist. Y-Audio cables take a AV(Red and White) output and turn it into a single 3.5mm input. I assume that the reverse can be true. I suggest looking for this device. I'm at work right now, so my access is limited.
  5. Pay extra? How do they charge you? Most broadband is a flat rate. Anyway, depending on how you have your network set up, it's not that hard to change the security key. Also hiding the SSID doesn't stop him from stealing your internet. Maybe you could provide us with more information on how you set up your network.
  6. K, as soon as you get some agility bralwers...tell me how long you can use them before you die. Then get some fishing brawlers and tell me how long those last. Hell there is only one place to use agility brawlers in the wilderness, and part of that is multi. Try tanking that one buddy. I understand that it's not a needed part of the game. But it sad when such a great addition to the game gets completely destroyed.
  7. tip.it's news archive would give you damn near every update and a date close to the actual date..
  8. Not only the extra 50k you have to risk gaining EP, but also the extra 50k you have to lose each time you die to your partner. 5 Kills used to cost your partner 130k Now 5 Kills costs your partner 380k That and not being able to 4 item EP farm, and having to risk 75k without protection while building EP. It dosen't necessairly make it "harder" but certainly less profitable and much more tedious/dangerous. Most people only brought 76k cash and nothing else when they built up EP anyway. How does this stop them doing that? And 380k for up to 25M each 5 kills? Damn, who in their right mind would 26k now? It forces the ep'ers to actually be RISKING the money now so that there aren't a bunch of people who simply protect the item their risking thus giving the pker nothing and saving them money. Brianite was right imo, it hasn't stopped 26kers but it has made the process much harder/annoying. But this will not stop 26kers simply because theres still the incentive of money. And now people who get scammed by their 76k partners (the other guy logs when its the person's turn) lose more money and a few might get frustrated with it and stop. After all, now there's more incentive to logout and screw your partner over because otherwise it costs you 76k of your money. Don't be stupid Just because there is a small percentage of risk, doesn't mean it's actual risk. There was risk before..if they speced you out while you were browsing forums, or wern't quick enough to get prayer on in time, you would still lose the item(trust me, it's happened to me)... Now they removed that whole part of risk. So I can stand in some high defense armour, and just laugh at anyone who tries to claw me...gaining ep is just as easy as it was before, don't kid yourself!
  9. I'll agree that it somewhat hinders 26king, but it doesn't make it useless.. On another thread, I showed that raising from 25k to 75k is only a difference of about 100k-150k an hour from tricking, plus the added chance at good luck, which keeps tricking as more profitable then other means of money making. Also, It makes gaining ep by "useless" methods more appealing. I can stand at level 1 for 2 hours with virtually zero risk, or I can train combat with much greater risk. Which one is the average scaper going to choose? Point i'm trying to make is this really doesn't come close to combating the problem.
  10. The point is to make it so people DON'T trick. That was his point. People would give up tricking because it wouldn't guaruntee a return. However, if they did base it off a percentage, it could become more massively inflated tricking. Let's say I have 500m..I decide to try tricking with my friend, losing 100m at a time. If you happened to get lucky getting the 150% of item loss value, you make a quick 50m from tricking. Kind of goes back to risk vs reward...but more so it's gambling, which I'm sure Jagex wants to stray away from(hence removing staking)... Of course, you could always add more restrictions to prevent it, but it's not really the route I would like to see them take.
  11. So just make it regardless of protect item, your most expensive item doesn't count for gaining EP. Problem solved without rendering protect item and smite nearly useless.
  12. Ltd has meaning though. Are they going to become a publicly traded company?
  13. Isn't that already the case? If you aren't risking 75k in the current system, you gain EP extremely slowly that it isn't worth the effort. pre-pro item update, you could just protect item when you were being pked, and still gain ep. Why instead of rendering the protect item prayer virtually useless, just leave it but claim you can't gain ep unless your 2nd through n items add up to >75k.
  14. This is all that needed saying. Just make EP balance the % you get and you have a complete fix. If they did that, then they need to make ep easier to get. And if they make ep easier to get, then rwting would be reintroduced
  15. All the steps on the BH crater make it a neat fortress for clan pking, however the entire middle is pointless. They should add something in there that would make it worth while, rather then a large flat area filled with random monsters. It's really not as bad as it seems. PvP is a huge part of the game, and RWT puts restrictions on it that makes it difficult to implement.
  16. So Jagex announced this update, but didn't make it live? I take it this was to keep high end items from crashing too much. I don't stand why any meleer wouldn't use the +1 world unless they can't afford godswords. And because the majority of the pvp and bh worlds were either meleers, pjers, and 26kers...Jagex is most likely going to make another change to this. I say make it so that in order to gain ep, you're second most expensive item + additonal items must be > 75k
  17. I see flaws. They would have to make it a relative amount to the number of hp a normal pker would have. Therefor, you would get a new breed of ksing, where people fight eachother with an inventory of brews.
  18. I think Maldrith(or w/e his name is) should sell a new item. Protect Brawlers. Carry it in your inventory, and it will protect only your brawlers on death. Of course, it should be a hefty price, and not count for gaining ep. This way combats the following: 1.Wearing brawlers is still a risk, however you won't lose them, but rather the protecting item, which is worth gp. 2. Because the item costs money, losing brawlers will still be expensive. This item shouldn't count for gaining EP, just like noted items. 3. If you want to gain ep, you still have to risk an additional 75k. 4.Brawlers continue to have a use as they won't be destroyed every time you are pked in them. 5. The new item would contribute to sinking money out of the economy that pvp brings in. I think that's a solid idea. What price are you thinking though? I couldn't think of a good amount without analyzing a little more. What do you think? Or rather, what does the community think?

  20. [hide=Jagex Clarification = Win in my book] [/hide] I don't understand why they didn't make this an official post or post it along with the update. This really makes me feel that much better about removing protect item. It almost completely changed my view on it. I do think, however, that death pot shouldn't be capped in the sense they do it. I'm not sure if I understand it right, but lets say I retain 70% from losing a whip into my death pot, it seems that the percentage for godswords is much less. The only thing I don't like about it is brawlers. Sure, brawlers are great experience if used in the wild, but it comes with flaws. If I don't suit up at agility arena, I will be tagged by any pker that camps at the multi spot(right next to the tunnel that can only have 1 person at a time in it). You're pretty much screwed. It's not risk, it's damn near certain death. Or it's going to interrupt your experience so much, that it makes using the brawlers pretty much worthless. On the other hand, if I gear up in order to combat the pkers, I'll become a more likely target to pkers, and thus probably increase my chances of dying. It's really a lose-lose. This is my opinion, and I'm sure many of you have different views, which is fine, but please don't argue that "omg, itz ensane exprence, you shuld haff to riskorz", because I agree with this, it should have some risk. I just wish that risk didn't involve losing my brawlers. maybe create an item that you can carry in your bag that's worth so much gp that you buy from npc that will allow you to keep your brawlers(and only your brawlers) if you die. Value is up to debate, but I like it cause it adds a money sink, and doesn't render brawlers nearly useless.
  21. The problem is you can still sit around and gain ep...as has been said
  22. I just 76ked...made 2.5mish from 84 ep...yeah, don't see it leaving any time soon...I also saw plenty of people still standing around in lvl 1 with d spears...
  23. shouldnt you be doing this in non-pvp/bh worlds?? makes more sense that way I wish the majority of your post contained more then 1 line, and you missed the point. Please quit posting at every opportunity
  24. Because no p2p mage or range dared to enter the wild without a whip, and some even had ags or claws as spec weapon. Also, it was proportional. My melee gear amounted to about 1m loss (hp cape, rfd gloves, d boots, glory, rune plate + legs, neitiz helm, obby shield, dds spec weapon). Unless you include barrows armour, the value of range and mage gear being worth less totaled to it being made up by runes and bolts. Now we all have to pk in wellfare gear, rending higher items useless. Edit: to the above^^ the rewards arn't the same. You make more in p2p then in f2p
