  1. His video is pretty good, but it's nothing amazingly creative. Congrats to him, but really makes me wonder why I didn't give it a shot. Even though I don't play runescape anymore, a free trip to Jagex studio's would be pretty sweet, plus it would be a good way to get my foot in the door as a programmer. Living in Europe wouldn't suit me though...O well. Again, Congrats to Excl and the other finalist. EDIT: After viewing all the videos, his is definitely the best video out of the finalist. Some of them are just down right annoying, his actually has quite a bit of humor.
  2. 102k / 100 = 1020. He got received 999, so only around 21 nests, which isn't as bad as it could be I guess. I would say you didn't get too bad of deal.
  3. I'm sure many people would be impressed with such an achievement, but to be honest, I think it would be sad. People everyday waste their lives playing MMO's. You only live once, sitting all day staring at a computer screen is no way to live it.
  4. Testing large amounts of integrated code is difficult, I agree. However, having a QA team look over the final product, or sending it off to beta testers isn't a difficult process. I bet there is a large audience of RS players that would rather beta test for fun rather than actually play the game(I don't have time for either, but if I did, I wouldn't mind doing some monthly beta testing)... Jagex does a good job, but getting to great is really what everyone wants, which isn't too much to ask. Considering it's only $6 a month, I would say that I am satisfied.
  5. I enjoyed it. Offers good advice(although wishful) to those hoping to follow his footsteps. Following Andrews career path is like being in a band, they come dime a dozen, and very few actually become successful. You might as well play the lottery, and bow down to corporate life.
  6. I payed $650 for a similiar one, however with nvidia 8400 series, 16:10 aspect ratio, and a 2.4ghz intel core duo. I would make sure that you can upgrade to windows 7.
  7. I'm not liquidating, but I have taken the break. Payed for a month of membership, and I havn't logged on for any of August. Wasted my money, but oh well...$6 isn't much of an expense.
  8. I don't understand how merching clans would be able to do this effectively...There is very little demand for iron ore...mainly because the supply is so massive, and also because you only need iron ore to 68 smithing...once there, there is really no use for it. I'm kind of baffled it it's just because of general inflation. I really don't see how a clan would be able to keep the price from toppleing...
  9. Quit making presumptions. But creating auras of uncertainty always creates that opportunity for merchers to destabilise items. At least when they announce changes everyone has the opportunity to decide what to do with their items at the same time. And as for me most of my items i got myself so I really could not care less as I have always gained either way. The original quote contained the guy [bleep]ing that his items were changing values after updates. This has been the case ever since runescape has existed, yet people still complain about it. You then preceeded to say "No one likes losing money on they're items". I preceeded to say "Just because no one likes it, doesn't mean it should be changed". All I'm simply saying is buck up charlie, quit-choor-[bleep]in and deal with it.
  10. Unless you were merching them you don't need to worry about the value of your items, their still dragon claws if thats what you paid for. That makes no sense, no one really likes losing money on their items. Although can't see how this update has any negative effects with claws, since players (76kers) are less safe they will be easier targets for claw pjers/rushers. Just because no one likes it, doesn't mean it shouldn't be a part of the game. Teaches an aspect of life. If I buy a brand spanken new car today, next year it's going to be worth significantly less. Quit trying to change it, and just accept it as part of the game.
  11. Sigils, Visage and Abyssal whip i don't think is affected by Ring of wealth. However i believe Dragon boots does, as it's a common rare and that really is something i am 95% sure of. He's saying he used a berserker ring for all his whips, boots, visages, sigils...
  12. Get the summoning level for ghraaks(sp) ( I think it's 57 or 59)...It's much faster, then just use glory if your pouches ever break...
  13. At your first sentence, I am trying hard to resist repeating the "lololololol" 100 more times, or smashing something. For my good health, sir, please leave the Internets. I know you're a girl. Sir sounds funnier. Um, runescape identity theft, hello. Havn't you ever called Bank of Runescape (Formerly Bank of Varrock)? Thats how you verify your identity ;) However, posting your IP to the general public isn't really a good idea. Right now, only forum mods have access to it. You may fall victim to a DoS(if they wanna waste their time) just to piss you off.
  14. I was at Hob mines, and a guy accidently skulled on me, so I tried to spec him, but I couldn't because a hob was attacking me. This was weeks ago, so I dunno if its fixed or not.
  15. Similar true, but it is different in terms of how its conducted. But i know its a DoS since I know what program/method the majority use. And as for saying that they don't use their own connection, i have seen many that do (and it does not take many resources to run it). Although the likelihood of anyone getting action taken against them from it is pretty slim. :( If it's a program, it probably uses a host server, as what good is a DDOS if you're going to put as much traffic on your lines as the lines you're trying to congest?
  16. Well the central point is the observatory...and the only thing west of that is the elven area.. therefore east is often west, and west is often further west....
  17. Doubtful. 1, he could hide his tracks, just like you can hide them to protect from DDOS. 2. A DDoSer won't initiate the attempts from their own connection, as this would cause them to lag. 3. The ISP will not go through the hassel if said DDoSer did step 1 and 2 rather well. (Would be a lot of work) PS: Would everyone forget about the symantics of DoS and DDOS..as they are so similiar, that there is no need to argue.
  18. If a forum mod (or admin, depending on how tip.it has it set up) went pking with you, he would have access to your ip. However, I doubt TIF mods would do this, they still could. Any IRC you're in could possibly give access to your ip (including Tip.It's). If you use a BNC, like the poster did originally, then you should be fine. I'm surprised that he would use a BNC and then not see the obvious reason for them not wanting him to use it(why was he even using it then? Did his dad tell him to?)... So if you stick to tip.it forums, and don't join any "pking" forums, you should probably be safe.
  19. Not, but if it's easy to kill, it will be a nice task once the crowd dies down(and it will, the amulet is crappy compared to fury)...I still like the new slayer monster...give it a couple of weeks.
  20. Gf trickers and bolters. I don't see how this effects either of them...
  21. yeah...mine are fishing brawlers. Usually I can get about 10-15 tuna/swordfish before I get attacked. I'm not going to risk 75k gp while fishing, I'd rather just stand around and tank.
  22. I just spent 12m on barrows armour/food+pots because I had many plans. I was going to slay, then I was going to to barrows(which isn't good money anymore it sounds like), then I soloed kq a few times as kalphites were my slayer task, I figured I'd have some fun and maybe get a lucky 5m drop (http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=36 d chain was 20m at this time), got bored of that, decided to try bandos. Killed him 6 times(only got the drop 5 times)..that was fun, but I don't like the whole only two trips and you have to restock thing, which I why I concluded I want to do a team thing. I'm currently semi-retired and in 'the'. The clan isn't very active anymore, and there aren't as many team events as their used to be(I used to do DK's about nightly with some of the guys, and that made me a lot of money)...I'm down to about 1m cash after splurging it. Might have to 26k to get that back to acceptable levels(scared of using my brawlers after the recent update)... I thank you all for your help
