  1. Math fail? 1.5m every 2 hours(on the low end) gained, 450k loss from 75king(75k*6) that's now 1.15m every 2 hours or 525k an hour or high end 2.2m every 2 hours gained, 450k loss from 75king 1.75m every 2 hours 875k an hour 525k-875k an hour now...gee..ruin pking, but 26king continues to be around You forgot the cost of chaos runes, approx 2400 chaos for 100% Ep @ 138 gp each that is 331k more loss. Ic...I never bolted when I gained my ep. However, that doesn't change anything as I used the values that you must have already subtracted bolting cost from(1.8-2.5m in loot, and 331k less)...so either way..still epic math fail...76king is still great money, and this update didn't help curve it at all.(except for the people who have no direction and believe what is said on the forums)
  2. [hide=] [/hide] It's funny, because I feel the same way about your post. First, I like you're analysis, pro's and cons..very nice post, but I feel the things you have as pro's and the things you have as con's don't hold as much water as they should, or they are in the wrong place. I'd say price drops is more of a Con as well. Even if it makes them more affordable, the rate they are going to crash is going to cause many to lose multi-millions without no controll. At least 26king inflation allowed you to preserve your cash by buying into goods. Pro's: A is good B.Pjing really isn't reduced. Before the update, most pjers were in very good gear as it increased their chance of koing, and once the specs were used, they were gone(and they had protect item on the whole time)...they can still do this..really hasn't changed. C.I risked about 1m in gear without my whip, I think that's enough for single pvp melee. I would lose to people who had rune gloves and strength amulets all the time. So even if you risk the 30m for claws or the 80m for AGS, the advantage you gain doesn't seem to be that significant compared to the risk. D. Hardly a pro, as it's been pointed out that it really doesn't solve the problem. I blame solely Jagex for this. They needed to make a fix. Once again they're fix is even more part of the problem. I also blame the whiners. I said before that whining about inflation would only cause the update to be rushed, and it would likely ruin an even bigger aspect of the game...and look what happened. But all in all, I agree with you're overall view, this update blows! Edit: and I can still alch or w/e in level 1 wild. I just have to wear gear and pay better attention. So no, didn't change that(which I think is good, but that's just opinion)
  3. You kind of have to agree with him. Some brawlers have always been relatively useless(mainly thieving and in terms of wilderness use)..To be honest, brawlers are still not useless. You can still tele, so anything that can be done below 20 wild or in non-multi should be able to do. Agility ones really do become a kick in the sack. You will get owned with those at the agility course. This sucks as I've had 3 of those drop and have only used 1. kind of OT: What's even worse as this update kills the use of claws, but doesn't kill the use of pjers. I can still sit around in full bandos trying to spec out a random bystander, but those who use claws as a spec weapon, are now completely screwed. Those who use AGS are now completely screwed. And not screwed because they can't use them, but screwed because they had them, and now it's going to be worth jack [cabbage]. Ironic, actually. Everyone was "fix 26king, cuz inflation makes people lose money"...so they fix in a way that is going to cost many millions... Also, I predict nature prices dropping. Who wants 99 magic, when the real use of a high magic level was pvp? So skillers who think "yay", you should be worried. Again, w/e...You could go through and read most of my posts before today, and my general consensus was that if Jagex tries to fix 26king, it will probably be the wrong way, and it will have a worse effect then 26king did in the first place. I've played since 2002, and 9 times out of 10, when Jagex tries to fix something, they break something else.
  4. Jagex is seriously going the other way with all the updates. All this controversy on the forums about how the 26k needs to be nerfed, and they agree they are going to fix it. We posted arguments that upping the value wouldn't fix [cabbage], as all it would do is cut into things a little bit. Instead, they completely forget about nerfing the 26k trick, and decide rather to just nerf pvp. One of the best things about p2p pvp is that it's exciting. Weapons have the ability to do monstrous damage and get KO's. Grant it there is still KO potential, it's no where near as exciting as it used to be. It's just going to cause massive food usage. Thats why f2p pking sucks so much...kills are rare, and food use is massive. That is just one of many points why this is going to completely screw over the game. Even if you don't pvp, you are going to suffer backlash from this. I could almost guarantee it. You can be a Jagex fanboy all you want and try to justify it, but in reality, this update sucks. Removing protect item from the wild is like removing the battle rifle from halo 3. Once again, Jagex shoots themselves in the foot. Off Topic: By the way, post count doesn't earn you respect on this forum. Respect is earned by different people for different reasons. I used to spend a lot of time on my post back when I was an avid scaper. I feel that at the time, the TIF community had a lot of respect from me. I leave for 2 years, come back, and start posting my controversial views. I havn't received much respect from TIF since, and I really don't care. Internet Respect is worth it's weight in Internet Dollars. You really gain nothing from it. However, I still think it's important to post meaningful post, as doing otherwise totally nullifies the point of being on this forum. /rant
  5. Lol he's made over 700 posts in under 20 days God, that's disgusting. And from what I've seen, 90% of them are just useless and saying basically "i agree". It's okay, I don't mind. Khanda-whatever, I think I speak for all of us when I say "Either say something productive or shut the hell up." plus he's an idiot...first page "chia boy...can't wait now"...what is he waiting for? He's just oblivious to the game...btw, as soon as my xbox get's back from repairs..it's buh bye runescape, hello oblivion :)
  6. Math fail? 1.5m every 2 hours(on the low end) gained, 450k loss from 75king(75k*6) that's now 1.15m every 2 hours or 525k an hour or high end 2.2m every 2 hours gained, 450k loss from 75king 1.75m every 2 hours 875k an hour 525k-875k an hour now...gee..ruin pking, but 26king continues to be around
  7. full armour+4 brews and tele runes...if someone tries to rush you(which still happens, as rushing really has very little risk)...you'll be fine and brawlers are rare...it's not about just the risk factor. The time spent getting the brawlers ussually is close to negated by the amount of xp you get from it, so in a way, they were like sc tools. btw, I do think it is over played though..you can still use them efficiently, it just is hindered a little bit(less spots because of food)
  8. What about low level pkers? I'd rather have a few level 40s rant than 26king alive. yes and the market crashing high leveled items. [bleep] 26king , it showd you aint got no skills [bleep] "The only thing worse then being useless, is being useless and oblivious"--Gregg House You really don't understand the impacts this update could have...and btw, it didn't fix 26king
  9. not really true..melee will be fine, you'll just have to tank better. It is going to hinder their use...mainly to use them you'll have to prolly be equipped in full armour and have 4-8 brews on you. I'll agree that some will become almost completely useless(agility)..good luck tanking the multi part of the wild course.
  10. arbitrary percentages ftw? and to those who say "yay, i'm a skiller, no effect on me"...this could have a snowball effect that effects prices of other things that you wouldn't even think of.
  11. Agree on agility Firemaking you'll just have to get some good armour with 4 brews and the rest mage logs with protect melee on..so it will still be massive experience.
  12. Why are those 2 useless? the only fishing spot in wild is above 20 wild(way above..more like 40 wild)... chances of you surviving=~1% if you bank your fish. You could still powerfish there, but is that really in the spirit of the game?/sarcasm thieving were practically useless before...bad xp, and now you can't protect(50 wild + multi)
  13. ah..ic..Mod mmg wanted to nuke pvp, not 26king. so pvp worlds are now entirely for 76king...pvping is instead nuked
  14. not all brawlers are useless, but the following are: thieving fishing agility (add to list if you can give a good reason why)
  15. I oppose the update, but I'll sit back and watch Jagex shoot themselves in the foot. BTW, this doesn't stop 26king..it just changes the name, and subtracts about 200k from the profits you were seeing before. Also it changes the way you gain EP. No more actually training, but instead you have to sit around, which is what it seemed so many people opposed. It seemed like Jagex released bralwers with the hopes people would still skill on pvp worlds, giving an incentive too(gaining ep, brawlers, etc)...that has been completely revered...good or bad I dunno. People who hated 26king and instead preferred monster hunting may rejoice in this update out of stupidity. This only slightly nerfed 26king(leather to a soft plastic?), and completely nerfed monster hunting. Claws and godswords will no longer be used at the levels they used to be(however, not useless)... Whips are going to become less valueable as well. You could theorize that people will lose them in pvp, and thus making them jump in value...but I don't predict this as opposed to people only use them for non-pvp, thus hardly losing them...thus the supply is fullfilled and demand drops, along with price. Soon as I get off work, I'm gonna 76k with a friend, and post my rewards to prove that 76king is not nerfed. Hopefully you all will see the damage this has truely caused.
  16. The special is very powerful and it's kind of disheartening to go up against without them. Most people stand around with d claws and high bonus armour(bandos) with protect from melee on. I see this a lot, and I don't understand it, but most of the time clawers will spec a person who is fighting another person. They obviously don't get the drop, but they find it fun anyway. Seems like you use them respectfully.
  17. I have tricked..I see no moral wrong in tricking, but I am no means a self-proclaimed dedicated tricker. Because of my life-style and more importantly my priorities, I probably cause less harm to this game then you as I only play around 5 hours a week average. (I'm going to generalize like you did here) You probably play runescape 24/7, which isn't in the spirit of the game, therefore everyone should hate you that doesn't have the life to play as long as you can. By your point of view, if you do something that alters the game in anyway that gives you an advantage, you're the anti-christ of runescape. Your scum. Heck, if you've been playing for longer then the average player, you're scum, because the advantage you have gained is unfair to the average runescape player. I say pish-posh. Let people play how they want. "Don't hate the player, hate the game", a cliche that fits perfectly here. Blame Jagex for introducing Pest Control and not thinking about the consequence. Blame Jagex for introducing 26king and not think about the consequences. The game get's easier over time, it's inevitable. They keep introducing faster ways of training, yet the caps remain at 99(they really are stuck with this). Quit treating people as if they're spit for doing what seems logical. Guess what? I came back to this game right when summer started. Before I left, I gave all my cash to my little cousin. I heard about the 26k trick, and took advantage in order to gain money for the more fun aspects of runescape(gwd), yet after a while, I began to like gaining money while training agility/mining/fishing/firemaking/combat. From then on out, I mixed it up with skilling/pking/tricking. If you looked at my cash pile right now, I have about 10m cash. I probably afford the gear for gwding, yet I actually did enjoy training my skills with brawlers, so I did this instead. You really do need to grow up and realize that Runescape is just a game. Part of games is remorseless competition. Sometimes I swear too many people revolve they're lives around MMORPGs. People will argue that they're a social substitute. "I don't need real friends, I have internet friends". Get away from the computer and go out and experience the world. /rant
  18. I like to find a middle ground, but everything becomes repetative after so long with this game. Thank goodness for new content, or it would all get very boring very fast. For example, you can train fast running around in circles, or you can train slower following an arrow over random obstacles. The first 50 or so tickets you get will be exciting after running around in circles, but eventually you realize that you went from running laps to running errands. It's still boring.
  19. But, of course, by the time you get your "150mil back," it won't be worth 150mil anymore because you're not the only lazy newb whose been tricking. What will it be worth? Obviously inflation means less then that, but who is to determine what the actual value of something should be? 26king has been going on for months, and statues have been bringing in money for a month. The money isn't going to leave the game without a money sink update, so the prices aren't going to go back down after the nerf(maybe slightly because of the panic it will likely cause) The only thing that governs the prices reliably is the caps that Jagex's sets on things. That's most likely there is such a big issue with inflation is because Jagex system caps rune prices(mainly natures) at a low cost, and it screws over runecrafters. No matter what, in the end, someone is going to get screwed over. Quit whining about it, and just let Jagex do there job. Find other ways to make money.
  20. I predict it will be a nicknames system. I still log in with n64jive, when people add me they still add n64jive, however I want people to call me "Ell", so for now on it appears as Ell in the chat window.
  21. lol, what? TREASURE TRAILS..one word describing TREASURE(fortune), one describing TRAILS(Adventure)... TREASURE LOOT? Might as well call it Treasure Treasure....
  22. instead of stating the obvious, why don't you read the thread and give throw out some of your ideas, instead of just reinventing the wheel?
  23. It seems like clue rewards are better the longer they stay in your bank. I did about 30 or so level clues in a row, with the average reward of 50k or so I would say. However, right before this, I did a level two clue, with both strength amulet(t) and ...something else, I think elegant costume possibly. However this is purely speculation, but I think Jagex should do something about this.(level 3 clues should have some sort of system similiar to pvp...gain potential from [cabbage]ty ones, lose potential on good ones)...
  24. ironic isn't it? multiple people claiming that they don't need a keyfob for runescape because they are smart enough to secure their computer, yet all of a sudden it seems a group of hackers have teamed together to take down many secure systems in order to prove a point. Ironic...
