i didnt think 12 monkeys was wierd, because its a sci fi movie. sci fi movies are supposed to be like that.

its not 2003 anymore j/k, that was more of a late last early this year thing :D there is no good reason why. if you really dont feel like living, i dont think anyone should be able to require you to continue. me, im to afraid to die. and i have a preference of how i want to die (walk in to my house at night, all the lights off and everything except the room where the main door opens up, open it up, see a gun pointed at my head, fly back off the steps when i get shot. alterantively, dieing from having sex too many times in a row with out stopping sounds good :D ), so i have to wait for one of those two things to happen. if for some reason my life changes drastically, example become blind or deaf, then i would probably kill myself. i wouldnt be able to stand it. actually maybe being deaf, thats a 50-50, i might even toss a coin to decide. or if i was paralyzed in a big way, that would suck too.

But don't you get tired of movies where there is an obvious hero? I liked that movie :P yeah, its nice to see different endings everynow and then rather than "good guy beats bad guy, basically everything is good". never saw perfect storm before, but now i dont have to, since i know how it ends 8)

her face annoys me, and so does her voice. they annoy me a lot. but like i said above, with a gag and a bag... :D and you shouldnt say one is better if you havent seen the other, just like in the greatest movie ever poll. anyways, i picked starwars over lord of the rings because, i like it better. the acting isnt better, the special effects arent better, you could argue over who the better director was, and which story was written better. i just like sw better :P

Jarhead - very high hopes for this movie, directed by sam mendes, jake gyllenhaal as the main actor, it all added up to be a great movie. it wasnt really all that great. didnt really portray serving in the marines as anything different than i saw in other movies. im going to call this "the movie that could have been". i bought this a while ago, i thought *ten alfred hitchcock movies for 12 bucks, even if only two of them are good then that still only 6 bucks a movie*. i didnt expect anything out of these, (sans lady vanishes and the man who knew to much, both of which i liked and are the only two i had previously watched until now) so i am fairly happy after seeing the first on the list: Young and Innocent - alfred hitchcock writes lots of movies, not all of them are going to be like psycho or the birds. you can definently tell this is a ah movie, it kept you interested the whole time. fairly easy to guess whats going but it is a 1937 movie. not really all that much around this time, so you have to give him props for that. after the movie they give you a bonus "short" that lasts about 20 minutes, called the sorcerers apprentice. i thought this was as good as the movie was, and they just kinda throw it in there at the end. if you ever happen to see this dvd set anywhere (cheaper than $20, i got it on sale at $12) you should pick it up. theres at least three good movies on there, and im going to watch the other 7 tommorow. onyl problem is they are all pretty short, longest is 98 minutes. i can dont find it a problem, but it might seem kind of short.

g -kids pg -supposed to be suitible for most types (i can think of two movies that are rated pg and have nudity in them, one of the (logans run) has a lot of sexual innuendos in it) pg 13- you have to be 13 or older to see these r -17 or older that how it works in the good old usa.

i got windwaker with my gamecube when i had it a year or two ago. i saw pokemon being in a pack with it just the other day. metroid prime comes with it in some packs too. whats your point? game systems do this all the time.

american beauty is pretty good, and so is kevin spacey. you have to see the usual suspects (if you havent already), he is really good in that. Once Upon a Time in the West - in my favorite genre post i said westerns were my least favorite type of movie, so i went into this not expecting much. it was a pretty good movie, which means it must have been one of the best westerns ever. you can definently tell it had the same composer as in the kill bill movies, and after looking at the list, about 20 billion other movies. it really works well in this movie. plus, the main girl in it actually looks hot in the old west clothes, that i have never seen before. Batman Begins - i havent seen the other batman movies in so long its not even funny. i couldnt even tell you the story line of them. i started this movie thinking that if the story lines of the last movies were so unremarkable, this one probably isnt any better. i was wrong. not that it had an awe insipiring story line, just it was interesting (and i watched the others a long, long time ago in a galaxy far far away). the movie was great, a lot more than expected out of it. it was kinda weird seeing the american psycho be a superhero, but i liked it a lot. just checked to see if it was by the same director as the other ones (it is not), and i noticed it was by the same guy who did memento. that explains things. Serenity - never even heard of this movie until the ctrl-alt-del webcomic guy posted about it on his website. he said something about a tv show, and this movie, but i never heard of any of it so i didnt pay attention. i started watching it, and it seemed like it was taking some things for granted that you were supposed to know, but mostly it was made for anyone. i dont know if the tv series is supposed to take place after the movie, or before the movie, or independant of the movie, so if anyone has any info that would be cool. anyways, the movie. it was great. its an action/sci fi type, not really anything else. i like action/ sci fi movies so i was perfectly happy the whole time. river is nice looking, and that helped out a bit. the acting wasnt anything special but it wasnt bad, not something from a movie on the sci fi channel. im going to go see about getting the tv series, which i think is called firefly. i dont know if they are still doing new ones or not, but ill check it out. anyways, lost is on tonight, followed by southpark, dont anyone forget :P

i think i mentioned this in one of my posts recently. ive never been to a movie by myself, and i dont ever plan on it. that would be way to weird. having said that, if i cant find anyone to go see jarhead with me this saturday, my opinion will probably change :D

sw>lotr xmen>spiderman sorry, spiderman has kirsten dunst in it, and i hate her. that completely ruined the whole movie for me. also i always wanted to be an xmen (gambit ftw!), never really wanted to be spiderman.

dont think thats really what we are looking for here, that should be in the worst movie ever thread. i did think schindlers list was pretty depressing, but you see so much stuff like that about the jews and nazis in so many movies it kinda just doesnt seem to do anthing anymore. never heard of ladder 49, ill check that out. leave it to daan to give you 4 foreign movies with his list :P only one i saw was magnolia, not one of the foreign ones. good thing you gave the links on imdb, save me some time 8) a beautiful mind was kind of depressing, i dont know if you consider the end as everything working out or not. its kinda wierd. have to check out backdraft.

actually this isnt where elisha cuthbert first hit it big, at least i didnt think it was. i remember dl'ing pics of her before the movie came out, because when i saw the previews i remember saying hey thats that one hot girl. i have yet to see girl next door, but i do want to. it sounds like its one of those movies i can pick up for $5 at walmart, maybe ill look when i go today.

i did think it was filmed very well, and actually the acting in it was pretty good too. the story didnt interest me, i think that was the problem. i know they have it hard down there, but they kinda bring it upon themselves. the stealing, drugs and killing really puts off many people. it seemed like the movie made you supposed to feel sorry for them, and i just didnt feel that. 12 Angry Men - good/great movie ****SPOILERS**** 10 minutes into it, you could tell that he was going to be innocent in the end. that didnt bother me too much, just watching how the guy slowly conviced everyone, and how "facts" turned out not to be facts at all, it was really interesting. i did also think around that same time, that the guy who first said he was innocent, was in fact the one who commited the crime. i really didnt have any reason for this, the only thing i was thinking was if its 21st on the top 250, there has to be something really twisted with this. i was wrong, but the movie was good with out the twist. ****SPOILERS****

That is by far the coolest idea ever. My heart goes out to you. it is a pretty good idea, havent really seen to many other good ones. id probably do something like that now that i think about it.

now there is a logical reason for not shooting the bird. (really, i find it funny but it is a good reason)

when is that coming out? hopefully it makes everything run smother too. anyways, after looking at the redvsblue topic, i think a decision should be made wether or not tv shows really fit here or not. normal tv shows, its easy to make the decision, they do not belong here. but internet tv shows really dont normally start as tv shows, they are more of a movie short made by an independant director. they happen to be around the length of a tv show, but are not usually planned on having more. so the question is, do shorts go here or in OT, and if they go here, should we take in all tv shows here so as to not cause confusion?

the death threats are so stupid, thats why its funny. its funny they think that since he killed a bird, he deserves to die. like i said in my first post, ITS A FREAKING BIRD. he was thinking "if i cant catch this bird, ill have to kill it. how do i do that? i shoot it." and that is a perfectly good reason to have a gun.

i actually was really depressed by oldboy, i kept on thinking "somethings not right" and "this guy is screwed" and then when you get to the kicker of the movie, its like getting kicked in the balls. that was my take on it. requiem for a dream was depressing, as was pi (by the same director). i just kept on thinking "this guy is f'ed up" and was actually relieved when he did what he did at the end (trying not to add any spoilers, but its hard not to). i didnt find donnie darko all that bad, he did what he had to do at the end, and he could even get some chuckles in. dd is my favorite movie (if i had to pick one) so i always enjoy watching it. (anyone else think jena malone is really hot in this movie :P ) id actually like to see more depressing and tragic movies, keep em coming. going to check out Lilja-4-Ever at daan's suggestion, see if i can rent it or aquire it somehow.

yeah, i think this might as well be the right place. doesnt really fit in the description, id call it more of a internet tv show, but i think they should go here too. i didnt really like RvB very much, i didnt really find them all that funny. i first heard about them on the pure pwnage forums http://www.purepwnage.com/ because people were saying pp was a lot better than RvB. they are really two different kinds of shows though, so i dont know why everyone compares them. i do like the pp shows though, and i dont like RvB, so maybe they were thinking the same thing i was. i dunno.

yes i did read it, yes it was funny, and yes the shooting part. its funny because so many people are getting worked up over a bird. a bird screwed up a lot of work by a lot of people, so why not shoot it? is the bird more important than the hours it wasted? is it more important than the hours more it could have wasted had it not been exterminated?
