Yeah things don't usually explode, they usually just burn. 100 gallons won't last long in a generator that powers an entire house either, you'll need much more than that to make it through a winter.

I think gasoline might be able to explode, but oil will just burn. Either way just having it in a drum barrel with a fuse leading to it won't cause a big explosion. It has to be under pressure of some sort I think.

If you want to talk about crazy distances, I think the electron and proton in an atom is better. If the proton was the size of a marble, the electron would be the radius of your hair. On top of that in an hydrogen atom with one proton and one electron if teh proton is a size of a marble and the electron is the width of your hair te first shell would extend to two miles away from the proton. Sorry if that doesn't make sense I was drinking tonight but I am pretty sure I got the figures right. Point is there is a [cabbage] ton of empty space between the electron and the proton, except the electron is kind of everywhere at once and nowhere at once if I understand the Heisenburg uncertainty principle right.

.....on an xbox, you can't control where you file saves too. My main file is still there, with all my stats and crap. But it's my thousands strong item collection that really made my file >_< He meant he wouldn't use any chest/cabinet/crate that wasn't in the vanilla game. I am the same way, that's why even though I have the Wizard's Tower/Vile Lair ect... I still use Benirus Manor in Anvil to store everything (it's close to a fence that is easy to keep track of).

If it's just a small cabin say 20ftx20ft all in one room (except for the bathroom) then getting enough firewood shouldn't be a problem. You still have to worry about heating the first year, unless this starts in spring time. Then you can't go outside the barrier for firewood though. You can assume they'll be a few trees inside the area though. What is the wall going to be made of? Anything that is sturdy will probably take a long time to build. I know it's not ideal but pre-existing structures might be what you are stuck with.

When building a wall a square will always give you more area inside for the amount of wall used than a rectangle. But after doing some calculations it looks like a circle will give you more than a square. I am guessing that a perfect circle is the most efficient use of wall/area ratio. Someone check my math: Winters are hard on people, I would suggest going far enough north that zombies are almost a non-issue and during the winter months they are permanently frozen. Going outside the camp to hunt for food shouldn't be a problem then, unless a lot of people are still alive. If you want to stay inside the camp at all times then it would probably be better to go somewhere closer to the equator. Just too much to leave to fate trying to conserve food over the long winter months. Better to be in a place where you can have food year round. Natural disasters are still going to be a problem but I think it would be easier to recover. Keep in mind if you are in a cold region you will have to cut/split firewood to keep yourself warm during the winter. We heat our house mostly using firewood during the winter, and it takes a [cabbage] load. It's a ton of work, and that is with chainsaws and a log splitter. Doing it by hand would take up all your time from the start of winter to the end of winter. And keep in mind that is firewood for next year, you can't use newly cut/split wood the same year you cut it. Have to let it season. So that first year you will have to find heat some other way.

So amazon says my Six Feet Under order can't be processed now, so I don't know if I'll get that. I did just order a new needle for my record player, so I am going to start ordering some records. The problem is the ones I want are all above $20 on amazon. Anyone know of a good place online to order records? I don't have a music store around here that sells them.

My favourite space picture is the Ultra Deep Field, someone posted it above. This one is cool in that it shows the Earth isn't really all that much, but I don't think it takes it nearly far enough. We aren't a speck of dust, we are much less than that.

I really didn't like this episode. If they had dropped the entire Indian/Hiro/Ando part then it would have been better. There was a scene or two of that that was painfully bad. Thought the Traci thing was stupid also, she isn't a killer, she was surrounded and knew she was caught when she had that guy in her grasp. Why did she kill him? Plot device, that's why. It was completely out of character. She is a calculating lobbyist, the last thing she heard was when the DHS lady left her cell and said she was going to shut the place down because of human rights violations. Whether or not Traci thought DHS lady would succeed, she wouldn't specifically ruin her chances by killing a guy in cold blood right in front of her. Nobody is that stupid, and Traci is more calculating than normal, and I'll reiterate she isn't a killer. The Claire/HRG thing is just old now. Oh and comic shop customers/employees don't act like that, while a lot of the customers/employees are male there are a good amount of females there also. I did like the Sylar/microwave story, thought it was interesting when right after telling microwave to not get emotional about the situation Sylar gets emotional about his dad. Didn't like how Sylar all of the sudden forgot all of his powers except for telekinesis when he was surrounded, and didn't even use that very well. Not to mention he let himself get surrounded.

This has nothing to do with cable, it only affects OTA transmissions.

That's why I love the Bethseda games, I can fix everything I don't like about it.

I like the $3 bins at Big Lots. They actually have cheaper ones there too, my mom got a DVD with 3 movies on it for $1. D.O.A. was one of them and it was worth it just for that.

Hmm, guess there was a little more to it than I thought. I was just pissed about having another revelation spoiled before seeing the episode. I should not go to /tv/ at all until after the season is over. I liked the outraged Ben also, but I'm still going to assume that he will be doing what is best for him/the island and not for Jack and Sun.

Seemed like just another transition episode, nothing big happening just small stuff to set up for the next episode. I got spoiled that that one woman was Faraday's mother, so that wasn't a huge revelation.

I used to use DVD profiler but then they started to charge for basic functionality, so now I just kind of use amazon's what you own list.
