  1. Yep, largely depends on where it starts. I would say it could kill between .00001% and 50% of the population of the world depending on where it starts, and a few other factors (winter or summer would make a big difference). Anything more that 20% of the population would probably cause global instability and the amount of people dieing from related factors (lack of food/water during travel, bandits in highly deadly areas ect...) will become a significant part.
  2. 1. Yes 2. No 3. No 4. Nothing 5. Money Male 22
  3. I did some math earlier in the topic about how many people would die, and I came up with 99% of people would be unaffected. I work in the dead people business, so I know how they handled during their re-animation possible times. From being dead to buried is about 3 days, and after that they won't be a problem anymore. Not sure about the 99% figure anymore, there are just too many variables. 99% alive still means 1% dead though, and 1% would be around 67 million people. I still believe it wouldn't be nearly as bad as any fiction portrays it (even WWZ which has taken the most "realistic" for lack of a better word approach). If it starts at a particular point and spreads from there I think it really depends on where it happens how bad the world will be. If it happens in India with 1 billion people pretty close by and newly bitten people easily getting lost in the population then there will be serious human losses. Alternatively if it happened around here, knowing what I know about how dead are handled and how the people around here act I don't see it ever getting out of control. A few hundred people at most. You have to remember that people aren't completely stupid. If they get bit, they will seek medical attention. If they don't go when they get bit they will go when the wound looks infected and they have a fever. Most won't get bit though, we are talking slow zombies. Most people will avoid getting near a slow shuffling person who isn't saying anything to them, or possibly making guttural noises. After people get bit some will travel anyways and the infection could spread some. When the doctors call the CDC (which they inevitably will when a person dies from getting bit by a human being and then comes back to life) then they will notify other doctors to notify them when they get similar cases.

I thought the Starbuck/Pianoman thing was lame at first, but then it's like holy [cabbage] it was her the whole time. Boomer frakking Helo just to not get caught was awesome, with Athena tied up and having to watch. Then of course Boomer taking Hera wasn't expected at the beginning of the episode. It was a good episode, but now we only have 3 left.
  5. Redwoods are a lot taller than 100ft.
  6. Hmm, there is nostalgia value for me with The Rope, it was one of them I watched a lot when I was younger. Don't know about top 5 though, I am working on that now. Oh and I love The Bicycle Thief, after I watched it it was my favourite movie for a while. I haven't got around to watching it a second time yet though.
  7. While The Birds is awesome, it wouldn't be in my top 5 for Hitchcock. He has so many great movies... Have you seen Psycho? Or The Rope? Or Rear Window? Usually those are favourites, although my mom's favourite is The Birds :D .
  8. He's also in Fringe, but Fringe sucks.
  9. Damn, I accidentally clicked this topic last night and this was the first thing I saw. So when I watched it today I knew Ben killed Locke, but it was still a decent episode.
  10. I don't like communism because it doesn't reward hard work or innovation, a lazy person working as a janitor in a factory will be making the same as someone who spends 16 hours a day trying to develop a more efficient automobile engine.
  11. Fine with me, I don't use any social networking sites and never will.
  12. I thought the season 2 finale was the greatest episode of any TV series (and I've seen quite a few series), that is until I got to the 4th episode of season 3. Since we are in a Lost topic, the season 1 finale of Lost was a great episode (holy [bleep] the hatch just lit up, what the hell is going on???) and the season 3 finale was also awesome (holy [cabbage] Jack is talking to Kate, off the island!). Those two put together are about what I felt first time watching the season 2 finale of BSG. There are better episodes to come though, I almost wish I could get Alzheimers and forget it all so I can watch it all again and get the epic feeling from it. I envy you right now :D .
  13. So amazon must have had Six Feet Under on backorder or something, I just got yesterday. I also got Alfred Hitchcock's Premier Collection which has The Lodger, Sabotage, Young and Innocent, Rebecca, Lifeboat, Spellbound, Notorious and The Paradine Case. Mostly got it for Notorious and Rebecca, the first three I already had in one of those cheap 10 movies for $8 box sets. I've heard Lifeboad and Spellbound are good, Spellbound has Ingrid Bergman in it who is probably my favourite actress and Gregory Peck who is my favourite actor from that period. Also ordered the entire Tru Calling series, not really sure why. It was only $22 so why not. From what very little I know about it it doesn't sound all that great.
  14. Not a big spoiler, but I always enjoy going into an episode knowing nothing about it. That's why during the 30 seconds of BSG where they are showing what is coming in the episode I close my eyes the entire time.
  15. That would be called a building. EDIT: I just got that it was what you were going for :D .
  16. It's not stupid, it's common sense. Yes if you have more material you will be able to hold out against more zombies. Nobody is disputing that.
  17. Any sort of slant in the wall means the top will be closer to the ground than straight up, and that isn't good. Yes slanted away means they can't climb it, but they most likely won't be able to climb a straight up one either. The problem is when they start piling up from climbing on the fallen ones/shorter ones/killed ones from defending the wall. If they build up to the height of the wall and it is slanted towards them, when they get up there they will fall and slide into the base. The defenders on walkways around the inside of the wall won't be able to reach out the few feet without climbing up the slope, and then they won't be able to melee attack the zombies as easily. Not necessarily. Yes, they can still pile, but a slant-especially a large one- means that the bodies will have to pile further from the base of the wall itself. I don't know if you've ever stacked stuff and tried to climb it, but you need a larger base if it's not up gainst something, meaning the zombies need a lot more dead to get up there. True, I didn't do the math but I just figured that the extra needed to pile under would equal about the amount that would be saved by not going as high.

Straight walls are definitely better than a sloped wall, for ease of creation if nothing else. A sloped wall you will have to build support poles on the outside most likely.
  19. \ \ \ \ | | | | | | There you go. All I think this would do though is make it harder for the defenders if there is an inside walkway they could stand on to shoot over. The zombies would still basically have to make it up to the same height.
  20. It made it on my list :D .
  21. I watch everything on my computer which is hooked up to my TV and I just switched from VGA to HDMI, so the brightness is odd. I spent the entire episode changing settings on my TV trying to get the black to look black and still be able to see what is going on. I never succeeded, so I didn't really pay full attention to the episode. I did see enough though, right now Sylar is the only good part about the show and he wasn't in this episode, so I didn't care for it. Parkman not using his powers on the team sent to retrieve him was also stupid. He should have heard them thinking out side his door, could have easily stalled the squad captain while going out another way or causing them to kill each other.
  22. I have a mic but I don't plan on talking to people, I don't even like talking to my friends on the phone.
  23. I believe all drugs should be legal, even the really bad ones. As long as the individual is not hurting anyone else except themselves there should be no law against it. Here's an interesting picture about 6 different drugs: EDIT: Here is another one:
  24. I believe so, yes. Hmm, well if you need more signatures to get your clan established let me know and I'll sign up, but I probably won't play much. MMORPGs aren't really my bag.
  25. Is this going to pay-to-play when it goes out of beta?
