  1. No, you misunderstand, I'm fine with no update weeks as long as either 1) they're producing quality updates that reflect the extra time taken and/or 2) they cut out this secrecy crap and actually give us some kind of preview of future content like just about every other MMO developer out there. Either would be fine. I'd love a video every month!
  2. Good for you. But for those of us who have actually done all of the quests, completed all of the diaries, played all minigames, soloed all bosses, etc it gets a little frustrating when we don't even have a clue when we're getting something new. And that's the point: they never reveal anything in these Q&As. Tbh when they dissolved the BTS's and cut back to three weeks per month they absolved themselves from any sort of accountability. Yes people [bleep]ed when the updates for the month didn't live up to their expectations, but haters are no reason to cease communication. Since they've done that, supposedly to improve the quality of the updates, they haven't really. At best they're exactly the same as updates before, but as some have pointed out they are quite possibly of LOWER quality than we were seeing in the era of the BTS's. How is that possible? Hm? Is it some technical issue that I'm ignorant of?
  3. Oh boy, a Q&A. Too bad they never answer any of the interesting questions. And even if they did reveal something about future content, for all we know it will be years in the future what with all the crappy, bug ridden, should have been an "in other news" updates we've been getting recently. Not to mention these ever more common no update weeks. Still waiting for that WGS sequel <_<
  4. Wait, chaotic only absorbs damage if the hit is 200+? How... how stupid. I mean I was actually going to get one for Sara GWD, but how often does the ranger (pretty much the only source of damage) hit over 200? Like never. So it's useless. Won't be getting one.
  5. Why? Because all that stuff is serverside, which private server makers do NOT have access to. They have to write the servers basically from scratch. The world itself, npcs, and items (the models and such) are clientside, which is the only reason private servers are even possible. Obviosly the people who write these servers aren't very professional, thus all of them suck.
  6. Lucky you, I got a headache after playing that one dung floor. On the other hand, I've been switching off playing Oblivion and HL2/Garrysmod all day today, and not even a tinge. HL2 looks freakin' amazing in 3D.
  7. Until both shields are thoroughly stress tested with identical stats and gear on a variety of different bosses, this is all speculation. Besides, for 99.999% of runescapers the results wouldn't matter one bit, because almost no one can afford a 500m-1b shield. 500m is more than my entire bank. On the other hand, I might be willing to put in the hours for 80 dungeoneering + 200k tokens, especially when batch 2 is released. But not before I get my rapier, obviously.
  8. LOL yeah, if you think that's bad try playing on an ice floor in dungoneering with 3D. If the shiny blue environment dosen't kill your eyes, the hitsplats will. 3D really dosen't really compliment RuneScape well. Too many bright colors.
  9. Well here's another screen shot, so far I think this has been the absolute most stunning 3D imagery I've gotten from RS. Nothing compared to watching a sunset outside the gates of the Imperial City, though. [hide][/hide]
  10. Yeah I saw a post about that on iZ3D boards, apparently RealD uses circular polarization while iZ3D monitors use linear polarization... whatever that means. But whatever, anaglyph is fine for games like Half Life 2 since thankfully there aren't so many bright colors in that game. Though it's a bit hard to see the explosive barrels at a distance sometimes
  11. As for the wizard, once you start up RS, an entry should appear in your profiles called "java". Uncheck the show wizard box. Or possibly before you even start RS for the first time after installing the driver, uncheck the box in the default profile. As for it just darkening the screen, well it won't really do anything if you don't have an iZ3D monitor, on the driver's default setting. You need to set the output under the DirectX tab to Anaglyph - Red/Cyan. And if you guys are going to run out and buy Spy Kids 3D just for the glasses, may I recommend destroying the DVD? :-P Unless you want some laughs.
  12. Yeah. Well I gotta say, the 3D is AMAZING in games like Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, dosen't even hurt my eyes much. RS? Not so much. Yeah you get a little depth perception, but RS is way too cartoony in the first place. And I can barely see the hitsplats because they're blue and red, which ends up being kinda "shiny". Total eye rape, tbh. IDK might be more worth it for RS if you actually own an iZ3D monitor and the glasses to go with it - then it will be more like the 3D you get in Avatar I believe. Though I gotta say the red/cyan 3D is pretty hard to bear in Oblivion when you're actually in the realm of Oblivion. The whole place is red. Eugh.
  13. Question: How do you get rid of the [bleep]ing wizard? Hint: shift + num * dosen't work. RS apparently eats all keyboard entry when it has focus. And I tried setting the default profile in the control panel to NOT show the wizard, but it STILL shows up. And yeah, I wish I had a moniter that could render in 3d, but I don't, so blue + cyan thing is all I can manage. Glad I kept those glasses from that godawful spy kids movie. Edit: Wait, nevermind, java appeared at the bottom of the list apparently and the box was still checked. My bad. Anyway, pretty interesting playing games like Oblivion and Garry's Mod in 3D
  14. 'Cause abyssal demons are the first one on this list?
  15. Am I the only one who sees the tidal wave in the background? OMG SAILING@@@@@ But really, I think the tidal wave thing was the point.
  16. Interesting about the anti-aliasing. I tried that and it gave me the option for 16x anti-aliasing. I did notice a huge difference between no anti-aliasing and 4x, but tbh I didn't notice much difference at all between 4x and 16x. I don't think you really can get much better than 4x in RuneScape. Probably why Jagex didn't give the option, because it is basically pointless/overkill.
  17. you need to do floors 1-24 to unlock floors past 26. do all the floors that don't have a check next to them. Actually I unlocked floor 35 right away when I got to lvl 69, didn't have to complete all floors up to and including 34. Not sure what the problem is.
  18. Of course not, as with all movies there are mixed opinions, particularly with this movie I've noticed. User reviews range from 1/10 - 9/10 pretty evenly (not many 10/10s). I personally loved the movie because it just felt so much like what you would get in the comic books. I understand that isn't for everyone, though.
  19. Great quest, but BAH on the bank update. Now when I want to withdraw items, I actually have to wait a damned second for the first item to finish withdrawing, ie if I have only one of two different items like bandos or armadyl that are right next to each other, if I quickly click the chestplate and then the skirt I only withdraw the chestplate. Banking is now much slower. Edit: actually I can withdraw both quickly if I withdraw from right to left rather than from left to right. But still, dosen't change the fact that they removed one problem and created a much bigger one.
  20. Ok, 60 floors. Assuming they keep the pattern of 12 floors per theme... 11 Frozen floors 6 Abandoned floors 12 Furnished floors 6 Abandoned floors 12 Chaotic floors 12 Warped floors That = 59. Pretty much confirms without a shadow of a doubt for me that floor 60 will be special. Hopefully we will fight Bilrach himself. Will be the first time we ever fight a Majharrat, assuming people's theories about Nomad are false.
  21. Yeeaah... I'd better see like 9800 more monster types in batch 2 or there will be hell to pay. Probably what they did was count each monster 11 times because they seem to follow the same tier system as resources. Even THEN it's nowhere near 10000. Nevermind the fact that this is a lame tactic to inflate the numbers. Also nevermind that most monsters were simply recycled from elsewhere in the game... Don't get me wrong here, I think the skill is fun, but yeah, pretty pissed with this nonsense.
  22. Awesome to know that they are actually planning dungeons outside of daemonheim with dungeoneering reqs. I just hope they are set up as raids, and not like GWD which is basically just like any other kill the boss and wait for it to respawn so you can slaughter it again except for the KC req. Chaotic and warped areas also sound pretty epic. Will be awesome if they have some rooms in these areas that resemble Paranoia.
  23. Yeah I really hate shades... though the only ones that really start to give me problems are the 111s and up. Don't really even need to use protection prayers on the 90s, just flash soul split + turmoil. On the 111s I just pray mage and that takes care of half the damage.
  24. No, it doesn't -- shades appear to use a magic-based ranged attack as well, and leather armor is much more effective at blocking it, in my experience. As for bosses, protection prayers are effective against few of them. PS My personal "meh" to those who glorify video game no-lifing. Shades have two attacks, indicated by the two different colors. One of them is a magical attack and the other is a ranged attack. Right, I believe what Qeltar was trying to say was the shade's range attack is magic based in much the same way as bloodveld's melee attack is magic based. Weather this is true or not I can't say, as I haven't used leather bodies. Regardless though, there are so many more monsters in the dungeon that use melee. Shades are really the only problem with melee armor. I can live with that.
  25. I just bought an arcane stream necklace... ...and um... what does it mean, "your spell draws its power completely from your staff?" (while wilding SoL) ...I'm getting this message every time a target comes into melee range. What the hell. Edit: Um nevermind. I think I understand now  Haven't used my SoL much. I actually thought Jagex pulled a [bleep] move and limited the necklace's power somehow (easy mistake to make tbh). I guess I was just getting really, REALLY lucky with the SoL's rune saving goodness.
