  1. I can see ripping on someone for mistaking they're/their/there your/you're and maybe its/it's, but stuff like effect vs affect and than vs then are both easy mistakes to make especially if you're tired and not thinking. I don't always have a perfect grasp on grammar rules myself, unless they're really obvious ones. I don't place that much importance on it unless I'm writing a report or something. The only thing that really irritates me is when people use substitutions like "u" for you "r" for are and ect on a forum. I've used those substitutions ingame and in chat rooms, but they really have no place on a forum if you ask me. Also when someone replaces an "S" for a "Z" on possessives and plurals. Godawful. It dosen't make you look cool... -.-
  2. The no drivers thing means either you need iTunes on your computer (the apple mobile device driver is included) or worse the driver is screwed up. This happened to me after I tried updating to the latest iTunes and took me friggin' forever to figure out how to fix it. I think the new iTunes had a problem with some versions of Windows or something like that.
  3. This is for the iPhone, but as iPod touch is basically a phoneless iPhone I'll assume it works for that too. Make sure the device is NOT plugged into your computer, then hold the power button and the home button down until the phone resets (ie it shuts down and then starts back up again). Now release the power button, and continue to hold the home button down until the device boots. Note that this may not work if your iPod touch entered recovery mode because of an error. In that case, you need to do a restore. If that is the case (and I'm assuming it is) you can download the firmware bundle from the apple site. When you go to do the restore, on a PC hold down the shift key and press the restore button which will let you browse to the firmware bundle. I'd recommend doing this instead of letting iTunes download it for you, because my parents tried to update their iPhones this way and iTunes totally screwed it up and I had to help them get it restored...
  4. Ok, I think it might have been a virus that corrupted the boot loader and not the hard reset. After I fixed that problem I was assaulted by two different rogue antispyware trojans, and after scanning with superantispyware and spybot s&d in safe mode along with some manual removal, it seemed to have stopped but today windows defender found another trojan. So I heard malware bytes was another good scanner, and it found a trojan downloader. Hoping this is the end of it, I don't want to be forced into a reformat. I don't know how this crap got on my computer, but I'm guessing it has something to do with some of the javascript [cabbage] I've encountered on the internet. Seriously, they should really forbid things like "r u shur u wanna navigate away form this page lol"... which initiate a download when you choose yes. Firefox isn't as good as it used to be it would seem.

    Inception

Very good movie, but I thought it could have been better. It's a concept I've wanted to see in film for ages, but I think it could have stood to be a bit... weirder. [hide] The combat was pretty much all guns and fisticuffs like it was the Matrix, and left me wondering why, if they're in a dream, they didn't think of something a bit more... imaginative. The dream sequences certainly had that surreal aspect to them, but nothing near on the level of some of my dreams I remember at the time as feeling so real as to be indistinguishable from reality... until I wake up and go WTF o.O As for the ending, there's pretty much no question in my mind that he was really dreaming. Think about it. He has been chased by these corporations for what the plot seems to imply has been years, and when he reunites with his children at the end, they are EXACTLY the same as in his memories. Same with his house. Of course he dosen't question why this is, because as he himself said, "When you're in a dream, everything seems so real. It's only when you wake up that you realize that something was strange." [/hide]
  6. The Death Star appears in the sky, and its main cannon powers up, firing its planet destroying ray onto the planet below. Fortunately for the rest of us, the ray hits the wall and it absorbs most of the blast. 9 HP
  7. No worries, I just fixed it actually. Finally found something on the net that worked. Rather than just leave it at that like some jerkasses I've seen on various forums when googling a problem, here's the solution for reference: 1. Boot from the installation disk, and go to repair computer. 2. Open the command prompt from the list of recovery tools. 3. Enter the following commands: "bootrec /fixmbr" and then "bootrec /FixBoot" ...still a bit preplexed why a hard reset would corrupt the boot loader of all things.
  8. I get the normal beep, the Dell splash screen appears, and then after that nothing. Since I successfully started the system with a boot CD, I'm assuming this is a problem with the boot loader.
  9. Following a hard reset, my computer now just goes completely black after the OEM splash screen, and following that nothing works. Can't press F8, nothing. Tried using my installation CD to run some diagnostics, but according to the results there were no problems booting the OS. So I slap in my boot CD, and lo and behold, Windows starts up. So I do a system restore, shut the computer down properly this time, and set my BIOS settings back to boot from the HD... nothing, again. So I set it back to boot from the CD and now here I am. Specs: OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64x Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9400 2.67 GHz RAM: 8 GB HD: Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 ...I was thinking about just replacing the boot files in my Windows folder with the ones from the CD, then again that's entirely a guess and probably not a good idea...
  10. Little over 9000 exp for prestige 35 on level 18 solo medium. Not bad. Pretty useful that gatestones only take cosmics now as well. Not so sure about the hotspots lol. From what they said, that was supposed to SAVE us time. But we need like 5 bars and 5 logs for the altar and the farming patch, not sure if that would save time even if its cheaper materials. Might as well just go FIND a patch eh? They're not rare. Though I could see it being a bit useful on large 5 man. Not so much for solo.
  11. LOL my apperture logo and cake are STILL there. I did several more drawings today but they were all vandalized beyond recognition (with the exception of my magikarp ^^), and those three portal references haven't been touched
  12. I shooped a whoop up on the bottlecap. :D Hate to use a meme, but at least I might incite some of the /b/tards to help destroy the bottle.
  13. Hey, guys, go check out the top of the ball  Also I added another companion cube in there somewhere.
  14. Lol I was trying to do a companion cube one and was trolled by some /b/tard. Yes he was a /b/tard. I asked.
  15. Lol thanks guys  I actually traced them using a program called actual transparent window. Pasted pics into paint, set the transparency of the window down to 25% and ghosted the window. It's a trial though... <_< Anyone happen to know of any freeware that can do the same thing?
  16. So there were some black circles on the ball, so I decided to fill them. [hide][/hide] Already vandalized, some of them were already starting to be WHILE I was drawing them. <_< I'm surprised I even managed to get all 5 up at once.
  17. On exp weekend I went from 93-99 summoning in a few hours which is about 5m exp or so. Other than that, the most I have gotten ("legit" as some might say) was 1.8 million firemaking exp.
  18. Yeah, that's what I thought, except if Jagex made a ribiks cube there would probably be a horribly tedious interface involved. To be frank, I can't even stand most of the decent 3D rubiks cubes, let alone anything Jagex could cook up. The celtic knot on the other hand looks like it might actually provide a nice challenge with a relatively simple interface.
  19. They actually did well in terms of making you think the game was over. There weren't many, if any at all, obvious loose ends lying around. [hide] Give or take a few locations that you don't get to visit until the second half The whole Van not having a second form thing there also threw it off. In addition to all JRPGs being 40 hours long, the final boss always transforms [/hide] [hide] Ah yes, there was the Radiation gate too. I had a map of the world open in a browser next to me with the radiation gate listed as a location on there so that casted some doubt as well. It was actually a pretty unique experience I must say, having everything be wrapped up like that as if it's the end of the game and then watching everything rapidly fall apart. Also kind of maddening to find out that ALL of the God-Generals had apparently survived... including Sync. The [bleep]? [/hide]
  20. Just finished up Tales of the Abyss. Decent game  [hide=spoilers] I seriously was thinking that the Absorption gate was the end. It looked and sounded like the very defiantly final dungeon, the intro sequence for the fight with Van looked like a final boss intro; I mean for godsake, the man was playing a godamned ORGAN. But it didn't fool me completely. Why? Because all JRPG's are 40 hours long. No exceptions.[/hide]
  21. I'm hoping this means they'll actually be releasing a new storyline for which they already are developing several parts for. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm SICK AND TIRED of having to wait 1-2 years or more between installments in quest series. Yeah we get one or two quests a month, but they're almost never related to each other, and a lot of times are either entirely new series (UGH) or standalone quests.
  22. There was once a time when common courtesy was common in RuneScape. People actually took the few minutes it took to hop and find a suitably empty world. These days, everybody is a goddamned egomaniac. And TIF is full of trolls.
  23. Most AFKing is not true AFKing. Most of the time when I'm "AFKing" that just means I'm playing another game or watching something on the other monitor. True AFKing is where you set something up such that you can totally leave your computer, sleep, whatever. Autocasting air strike with -65 mage attack comes to mind. That is a bannable offense. But more than likely you would actually have to be caught by a Jmod to get banned anyway. Also they now employ a 6 hour auto logout, so if you have been logged in for a consecutive 6 hours it logs you out no matter what you're doing.

    Mobilizing Armies

Yeah... it is easily the worst RTS in the history of the genre. That the game's release was actually DELAYED for months on end is absolutely incredible. Usually when you delay something you make it better, not produce the most worthless piece of crap in the mmo's history. If Jagex for some arcane reason found it impossible to implement some of the MOST BASIC RTS concepts into MA, they should have just scrapped the project like they did with Wilderness Tag. Better to release nothing at all than a pile of refuse.
  25. No reason you can't play more than one game. Hell sometimes I'm playing other games at the same time while I'm grinding on wc or fishing or something else boring like that. Probably a huge sin, but I've even played *gasp* World of Warcraft and RuneScape at the same time.
