Yes you can, one spawned for me, it stunned me a bunch, and someone stole it while I was eating back to full. -
07-Dec-2010 - Warriors Guild and Dragon Defender
Peronix replied to Michael's topic in General Discussion
Got my defender already tbh. Yawn. Bring on the defense update please. -
Statwise, the choice is obvious if you're unconcerned with rune costs/recharge. The special on the staff of light wouldn't really see much use unless you're like me and occasionally like to camp the enemy's spawn in castlewars purely for the giggles of destroying dozens of people repeatedly with ice + blood barrage. I don't see why you can't just carry both tbh. If you're not using another spec weapon and you need the damage reduction, switch to SoL and use it as needed. Though it will obviously be pointless if you're using another spec weapon.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
Peronix replied to runescapeloser22's topic in Off-Topic
Just finished up with most of the endgame content in FFXIII. I was bored. -
Quite right, my mistake. The last time I was at menap thugs was certainly before the eee and possibly even before summoning itself. Still have a few k wines in the bank. Anyways you really don't have to drop the lobs/scims very often. And as mentioned you can do it only during the stuns to save time. I'm like 90% sure this is faster than menap thugs, though I guess it couldn't hurt for someone to do a test of both.
-
Do you have to drop your inventory after a while? That might decrease exp/hr a lot. Or you could just drop it when you get stunned. This. Plus this also gives you time to eat some lobs. Which is another reason these are better than menaps - no need to worry about food or anything.
-
Menap thugs give 137.5 exp, the new monkeys give 150. True they do stun you if they catch you, but it seems they catch you less often than menap thugs. Also, I just theived a dragon scimitar off of one. Though that was in well over 150k theiving exp. I wonder if this would be better than PP for 91+ though?

Anyone else notice yet that you can't actually speak to your cat using the cramulet? He just says meow. It only works for the dialogue when you first set them down.

We only do it because we love them :-P

Noooo TD's are my main source of cash... at least until I get that last DG level then I'm dumping them for frosties. Also I don't think they'll be making bandos absorb magic damage. Maybe like 6% range and 3% melee knowing them (because chaotic shield is only 14% range and 7% melee and it's 80 def, 80 dung, and 200k tokens unless they plan to buff it to 20% 10% like they SAID IN THE FIRST PLACE).

Personally I suggested on the forums that we can have a temporary bind, one that would last for 3 dungeons. It would be pretty convenient for both making yourself a little armor that would last a while and also letting you use a t11 item drop for a while rather than just discarding it immediately which is what happens with most t11 items now.

Still not halfway!

From what I've heard they are only better until 91 theiving (which he just got) then when you can access the last room PP becomes better xp/hour. And besides that, blackjacking thugs will KILL your wrists. I know. I got my theiving up from 76 there. -
02-Nov-2010 - Dungeoneering The Warped Floors
Peronix replied to SirHartlar's topic in General Discussion
Yes, that's true technically speaking, but people don't tend to refer to something as "one of the last" if they know it is the very last. Anyway that is beside the point. I'm interested to know now where there has been confirmation of another dungeoneering update. -

Yes, well unless he didn't know that Kal'Ger was the final boss at the time, it dosen't make any sense to call him "one of the last" when he IS the last. As I said though, it could have been just a poor choice of words. But I'm hopeful for Bilrach, or whatever horrors the rift contains. Which apparently isn't on floor 60? Unless I'm missing something here. -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4da22zsBVQ Notice how mod trick says at 0:23 "Kal'Ger is one of the last bosses in Daemonheim". ONE OF. Isn't he the very last boss at the moment? So either mod trick just made a mistake, or there are going to be future bosses. -

...so ends a VERY, VERY long drystreak. #6 -
Yup. First thanksgiving tons of turkeys all around RuneScape which drop food equivilant to lobbies. The last two years... you kill a few turkeys in an isolated pen in lumbridge and that's it. You don't even get any turkey.

91-95 herb: 75 million. I now have 2k of each extreme, 3k of attack and strength. Not spending another dime training this skill ever. I'm going to 99 it eventually using effigies and such. Not worth making the exts into OVLs when torstols are 50k each. Though it's nice to have the exts just in case I want to make a few OVL's. -
Oooh yes, there were practically nonstop drop parties in the seers party room during the rs2 beta. So many glory amulets, dragonstones, and d meds thanks to the dupe. Good times...

I don't usually play games on maximum difficulty until very recently but I've found it to be very fun. I was fairly proud of myself when I cleared Mass Effect 2 on insane difficulty, and at the same time unlocking the "no man left behind" achievement.

I remember when draynor was a center of trade, with many people trading in the area where there are now noobs cutting willow trees and dark wizards. And as I recall, the the jailer near draynor used to boast that the key was held by an adamant chain. Which was from the time when adamant was the best armor in the game. Now it's a runite chain. Wonder why Jagex hasn't updated it to a dragonite chain?
-
Well in the example referenced Jagex always intended charm hunting to be a way of training hunter with a summoning side benefit. Though they neglect the fact that, unless something is the best method of training a particular skill available for a level range, the side benefits need to be pretty significant, which unfortunately in this case it isn't. Jagex has a bad habit of hitting the low end of the balance beam when it comes to balancing content. Instead of making slight tweaks to hit somewhere in the middle, when something is initially unbalanced toward the high end it is invariably nerfed straight down to hell. And the [cabbage]ty part about this is that once it is on the low end it is VERY difficult to convince them that it needs to be rebalanced, even though the sheer absence of all life from the feature in question should be a screaming indication of such.
