  1. How is it crappy, when an update that makes huge modifications to the world map (Jade Vine maze in particular) can potentially have game-breaking bugs if released too early? Because it wasn't delayed because of bugs, it was delayed "because they wanted to make some other minor modifications with the update that weren't ready". So they delay last week's update for a whole week to release it alongside this week's update, and now apparently THIS week's update is being delayed for whatever reason. Well excuse me if we'd all like to know weather or not it's safe to delve into an hour long large dungeon without seeing the infamous "UPDATE IN 10 MINUTES".
  2. Yes, well as much as I enjoy certain parts of the game, like slayer, I absolutely despise others, like fishing and woodcutting. BORING. The utility from getting those up to 90 each isn't the epeen - it's to be able to harvest morays and promethium in dungeoneering. If I could bot those skills, I would. But ofc I won't because it's against the rules.
  3. Ahem. "Joined: 14 minutes ago" Kinda throws your claims of 1.6b into doubt, don't it?
  4. True, but personally I prefer the prayer savings to the bit of strength and defense. Not that I can't afford it - I just don't want to carry so many prayer potions with me.
  5. Botting is only bad cuz jagex says so, nothing morally wrong with doing it loll. This. And considering how grindy this entire game is, I wouldn't mind at all weather botting was allowed or not.

    Shadow Silk Hood

Surgeboxes? I see at least one of those per large dungeon, especially on occults. I got mine while soloing from a level 114 mage. I think the 90s can drop them too. I think the droprate of surgebox is about the same as the hood, except forgotten mages are really common while spiders you're lucky to see even 1 in a large dungeon. I got my hood 2 days ago during a large dungeon. Was the only hoodless on the team but they didn't complain - actually in w148 there's almost always at least one team member that is hoodless. It dosen't slow you down that much really - only when you have to clear lever or mime room for the hoodless when it would otherwise be hood safe. And levers you can just rush anyway.
  7. As a high leveled player, personally I love it when Jagex releases content that requires levels higher than I have. I really couldn't be arsed to train fishing but now that a diary requires 96 fishing I'm actually going to (eventually) train it to 90 and pie it. At the same time I'll unlock rocktais, and cave morays as well. So that's good. I've been waiting for more endgame content for ages. It seems that most other mmo's cater almost exclusively to endgame, but RS very little to not at all it would seem. Of course I'm not a big fan of games like WoW continually upping the max level in an expansion in almost what seems like nothing more than a cash grab, but I'd defiantly like to see a lot more high level quests.
  8. Haha, I just got on a pretty pro team and I was the only hoodless one. None of them complained about it. But guess what I got during the dungeon... I regret getting that stupid tome of frost though, another 43k I have to get back before rapier. Love the arcane stream, though. It's beast.
  9. I haven't tested it thoroughly myself, but from the description oreveins is supposed to at least make veins rarer while increasing their size. From what I can tell looking around below in MCEdit veins aren't always big like that and diamond dosen't appear to be affected at all.
  10. I see you've found the biome adjustment mod  That happens when you set the water level higher. It's pretty awesome - like something from wind waker. Unfortunately for epic oceans you sacrifice nearly all landmass.
  11. I'm getting more than a little tired of Jagex's stupidity as well. But what angers me more is their complete and utter stubbornness about it all. Every time a majority of the fanbase makes a complaint about a clearly asinine feature or aspect thereof, Jagex always responds with something like: "We like the way it works. We won't be changing it :)". Makes steam well up in my nostrils every time I read something like that. Of course they like it. People with no talent do tend to get almost romantically attached to their creations without regard for the fact that what they have created is a piece of garbage. It is made worse by the fact that Jagex seemingly develops features in complete ignorance of how their players actually play the game. Tell me, how can one LIKE the fact that the base floor and prestige experience values are both affected by the modifiers, and then the modifiers are applied again to the average of the two? That completely flies in the face of what a BASE rate is - a MINIMUM. It's like calling a variable that you are clearly making modifications to a constant value. Then of course you have the asinine mechanics of the chaotic shields, which were advertised as something that was actually simple and reasonable. I think it was because the people responsive for the KB simply couldn't understand the stupidly complicated mechanics that they were being told, that they got it wrong.
  12. Hmm, more reason never to get chaotic shields. Wasn't going to anyway, rapier will be enough of a pain as I hate DGing. The bank thing I can't see being terribly useful. Not really bothered by the no clicking out thing either as I always used the minimap anyway (bigger target than that little x, and it gets me started where I'm going immediately). The equip screen stuff sounds pretty cool though. It will help for determining that most of the future weapons and armors that Jagex release, are, in fact, garbage.
  13. Ohai Bubsa, surprised to see you around here. I remember seeing this thread way back when I first joined. Good times. Sorry to hear about Jagex's copyright garbage. It seems they have finally entered the stage as a corporation where they become total control freaks who use lawsuits and threats of lawsuits to that end. They forced the rs wikia to take down the dungeoneering journal transcripts with similar threats. They grow up so fast *sniff*
  14. A 116 mage just dropped a surgebox... needless to say I destroyed my 125 prom arrows. I almost never used range anyway. Besides, it was never really accurate on the bind-happy mage bosses anyway. Will be extremely useful for dealing with those warriors. Now if only I could get a hood... :-#
  15. Thanks for all the advice guys. Well, I guess I'll just solo to 80 and try W148. I haven't really attempted to make any friends on this game and none of my friends IRL play this game. That dung smithing thing sounds like it could be useful. What exactly is the name of the CC? Tried "dungsmithing" and it didn't exist, and "dungsmith" existed but it was some random player's CC with no one in it.
  16. I've mostly blown of this skill for the most part because of the fact that soloing is extremely slow experience, which... angers me. So my DG level isn't that high. So what's the fastest exp I can get at the moment? What two binds should I have, and how should I go about getting them (no air rune trick anymore, FML...). I see a lot of people with chaotic weapons, and I want in on that, but I don't see any reasonable way of doing that without some help. But from what I've seen, most of the good DGers are kind of... efficiency nazis who won't take anyone lower than a certain DG level or whatever. So should I just stick to soloing until 80ish or are there actually people out there who 1) don't suck and 2) are willing to take on new people. Trust me I'm not the kind of person who won't listen to instructions, but I totally get that there are a lot of people who are like that. So... just general advice would be helpful. This dungeoneering thing is a bit more overwhelming than basically any other skill. By the way, my two binds are currently a prom spear and plate. I'm trying to get a 2h, no luck so far. <_<
  17. Anyone know where I can read the new journals? Apparently Jagex forced wikia to take them down with copyright related threats. If only I could punch them through the internet.
  18. That is awesome. You built both towers by hand? Can't you hack them in with MCEdit? Also, finished my minecart system using booster. Yes, mostly, but the mats were hacked, and the chasms were made using MCEdit. Honestly I wish Notch would hurry up and release creative mode for Alpha, it gets a bit annoying having to use inventory editors.
  19. Here's a little something I built that I've had in mind doing since I heard about the hell update: the Tower of Babil from FFIV. Made using invedit and MCEdit (primarily for the chasm/removing the bedrock). [hide] [/hide] They're linked via portal on the top floor of the netherworld tower and the bottom floor of the overworld tower. Which means they had to be built in corresponding locations.
  20. Because that was the one smart thing they could've done. It's better than having t11 spears and 2hs be available at f1 and then releasing the other crappy items at f59. They could have at least made lesser primal weapons actually USEFUL. Only one that stands out even remotely is maul, but I've found prom spear far more useful.
  21. I like how they take all of the useful t11 items and save every single one for the last possible bosses, in order of usefulness. Looks like I'll be using a promethium spear until level 107. Epic gayness. <_<
  22. Creepers will occasionally idle like that. They've always done that. It's pretty annoying, and kind of dangerous. Say you're waiting for that creeper to come down to so you can slash it and kill it, but it just sits there on top of its hill staring at you. While it distracts you, another creeper comes up from behind and... SSssssss BOOM. That's happened to me before <_<
  23. Um... you know what? I spoke too soon. Update broke my giant mob tower. FML.
  24. Yeah I'm pretty pissed that Notch made items disappear completely on death. Now I'm going to be a lot more afraid of creepers... By the way, when you enter hell, it's best not to attack the pigmen directly. Or they will OWN you. They do tons of damage, and can run faster than you. They won't attack you normally though. But god forbid you attack one of them, all of the pigmen in the area will swarm you. If you want their bacon, just light the areas around them on fire. Oh and good news everyone, my chunk 0 mob trap still works as ridiculously well as before the update. I was a bit afraid this update would break the chunk 0 exploit.
